Aijaz Ahma, writing in Monthly Review, provides a insightful analysis of the current state of the American imperial project.

    Excellent!

I assume Ahma doesn't really mean "G.W. Bush" when he credits "Bush" with everything. He must mean those who pull his strings….which in many cases are the same guys who pulled Reagan's strings.

I'm just waiting for the "blowback" within our own government. I can't believe there is not a greater opposition than we are seeing, fermenting closer to eruption under the surface. I notice my breathing has become more shallow, my eyes are darting around and I am cocking my ear to the pick up the distant sound of the freight train.
