I can't really criticise her strategy because it has worked since 1981 when we met.

I know, Jon, that's right. I assume, btw, that you are 'Jon' and not 'John Cord'. Just as 'Eddie' was not 'eddie' and 'larry' became much more interesting and cosmic for a short time when 'larry' was no longer 'larry'. Yeah, Daniel, good suggestion. In the arts, as you know, it's who you know. It's a small and jealous (and I mean, jealous in its true sense, not its colloquial misuse as a substitute for 'envious') world, actually, and people often resent incomers (by which I mean those who didn't necessarily go through the conventional training channels or who came even form some other arts discipline). Assuming a certain level of talent and craft, who you know is actually almost all that counts. So, if one can get an inside track, as opposed to standing outside with a hatchet, go for it!

'John Cord', who are you? Reveal yourself, or stay forever silent. That's not a threat, it's an incantation.
