The Al-Hilli Conundrum 6629

My post on the shootings in France has brought tens of thousands of people to this site – but not to read my dull contribution. People are coming to read the comments from other readers.

Today’s development of the bomb squad descending on the al-Hilli house does not in itself worry me enormously. You may recall the massive terror scare that was ramped up when some Muslim students in Manchester were found to own a bag of sugar.

In fact we have the opposite phenomenon today, with the spook-fed “security correspondents” on TV lining up to tell us it is probably just everyday household stuff. This deviation from the standard Islamophobic “Muslims = bombs” narrative is so startling it makes me wonder why the “move along, nothing to see here” line is being taken so quickly.

My own security services sources insist that al-Hilli was not a person of current interest to the UK intelligence agencies and was not involved in anything clandestine. I have no reason to disbelieve them. On the other hand, the limited and confusing information in the media is almost entirely from official sources. I find it very strange indeed how little attention has been paid to the murdered French cyclist, and how easily it is presumed he was just a passerby. Surely it is as likely he was the intended victim and the al-Hillis the accidental witnesses?

Please do read the comments on my first entry on the subject to see the debate unfettered by the censorship in the mainstream media. This is perhaps my favourite comment:

From Janesmith101

All comments regarding Sylvain, Al-Hilli and a possible nuclear link are being removed from sites I’ve posted on in The Guardian, Independent and Huffpo UK.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/sep/09/alps-killer-motive-baffles-police

Here was my comment, I added as a point of fact it was completely speculative and an unproven theory in a later comment, also removed.

Sylvain Mollier, the ‘passing’ cyclist, was in fact a nuclear metallurgist who worked for a french nuclear company called Cezus (a subsidiary of Areva). Cezus fabricates and processes zirconium into metal and nuclear grade zircoaloy for nuclear fuel assemblies – it also has other applications in aerospace such as components and ceramics for missiles and satellites. Mr Al-Hilli was also a skilled aerospace engineer, on what looks to be his first camping holiday.

What is the probability that two highly skilled engineers managed be at the same remote place, at the same time, yet still managed to end up dead as a result of what looks to be a military style assasination?

As someone else pointed out in The Independent comments, the deceased were found by a ‘retired’ RAF officer who, we assume, will recieve perpetual anonymity as a witness. If the police are looking for a motive, try an intercepted rendevous by a security service fixated on denying a hostile power illicit nuclear technology.

http://wrmea.org/component/content/article/162-1995-june/7823-israel-bombs-iraqs-osirak-nuclear-research-facility.html

The Huffington Post UK reports that this wasn’t the family’s first trip to the camp site. An earlier report had asked other camp site visitors whether they had seen the family before and they had replied they hadn’t. If this isn’t wasn’t the first visit by Al-Hilli, it might slightly increase the odds that he knew or had met Mollier before, this being the last in a series of rendevous of a transactional nature. Mollier lived and worked locally.

Again, I’m not sure of the truth of these reports, there is some very sloppy journalism, as there is always seems to be. I’ve read for example Mollier’s company Cevus descirbed as a steel firm something which it is patently not, but perhaps it may have been a detail lost in translation.

An interesting comment summing up some of the strange coincidences, at least, surrounding these murders. My other favourite comment calls me a “macchiavellian shill”.

I have only one thought of my own I want to add at the minute. Al-Hilli was a Shia muslim and had been on pilgrimage to Qoms in Iran. What if it is indeed true that he was in possession of no especial nuclear or defence secrets to pass on to the Iranians, but the Israelis thought that he was? The Israeli programme of assassination of scientists involved in Iran’s nuclear programme is a definite fact. It makes as much sense as anything else at the moment, as a possibility.

I am not saying that is what happened. But the directions in which the mainstream media is being so strenuously pointed by official sources, like the massacre of an entire family over an inheritance, are certainly no more inherently probable. Certainly as we are now told all the shots were from one gun, for the assassin to get each victim in the head with none of them being able to escape, indicates real proficiency with the weapon and a very high level of training.

The Land Rover and Hummer are 4x4s but surely RAFman would recognise a Land Rover and call it that, and would call the Hummer a pick-up.

Does anyone else think it’s odd that ***Sylvain Mollier’s significant other went to the police station with a photo of him to report him missing?***

I’m not familiar with France’s procedures, but law enforcement on this side of the Atlantic is reluctant to get involved initially when an adult goes missing. For the spouse/girlfriend to have a photo handy and to take it in with her to the station to report shortly after the shooting, well, that’s more prepared than most people would be. Had the news media already reported a shooting in the area by the time she went in with the photo? Had the local police contacted her to ask her to bring in a photo? ***Why would they need one, if he was carrying ID?***

Not sure how things are done in France, but was an obituary published in the local paper? Did it include a photo? ***Why no photo of Mollier from any of the news media? (Or the other adult victims, other than Saad al-Hilli?)***

Also, the article posted above seems to express concerns that the bodies have not been returned to the families quickly enough. Surely it would take some time for autopsies and investigations to be complete. Why is this an issue?

***Sadly, Sylvain Mollier’s father is reported to have passed away ***after*** the shooting.***

    Snip

[Mod/Jon: removed broken link – this is what happens when you copy+paste]

I watched the report and press conference on BBC America and the translator was crap. However, the gist I got was that the Froggie cyclist overtook the crab cyclist on the road. The crab saw him turn into the area where the shooting occured. The crab then decided to turn into the area also only a few minutes after the Froggie cyclist. The crab found the scene, called for help and set about some first aid for the girl who is now in hospital.

So my understanding from the frog prosecutor who gave the press conference is that the crab missed the action by minutes. There was some mention of a 4×4 leaving the scene that the prosecutor would not be drawn upon during the press questions.

The prosecutor also stated that they had no idea who the dead cyclist was until his wife called into a local police station to say he was overdue for his tea. The prosecutor further stated he was miffed that things had been released to the UK press (presumably by The Yard) that he would rather have not had released until confirmation of identities and forensics.

I always remember what the information/press office bloke in HQNI told me. There are 3 versions to every incident: 1. What really, really, truly happened; 2. What the official report says; 3. What you see and read in the news. One incident, 3 versions.

    End Snip

If they are trying to solve it they sure dont want the public to solve it, too little information released.

We are all clamouring for :-
    1) Sylvain Mollier was he shot in the back, front, even from above who knows maybe varying angles as he was cycling or while he was standing.

2)Was there ever a 2nd car seat? Was it in the caravan/tent? Is it larger than the one in the car?
3)Was Saad’s mountain bike found at the caravan?
4)Were any of the 3 adults wearing seat belts?
    2) 3) & 4) This is safe information that should have been known from 8am the morrning after but still not released.

What significant facts have the police released since day 1?

All the bullets came from the same gun? This may or may not be true. It certainly means Anders Mossad Kidon team is less likely. But the Police have appeared from the outset to not want us to suspect the ex-Raf guy.
Why do that? Because he did do the shootings but he is protected?

I can only think that 2) 3) and 4) havent been released so the ‘story’ has some manoeuvre room. But even as it stands with very few facts little makes sense.

The BMW couldnt have reversed to that position reacting to Sylvain’s shooting in front of them if he died block them in.
Why would they be in that position?
    a) Reversing out of the way of a 4×4 coming up the road.
    b) As Anders said if a gunman was in front of them floor it in 1st and duck at the same time. Unless that is what he thought he did but was still in reverse from getting in to that spot and just panicked. Possible.

I wonder if the bush/trees just to the left of the driver hides a ditch or enough cover for a shooter to hide and waited there until Sylvain cycles up to the side of the car for the meet with Saad and at that moment opens fire killing Sylvain with 5 and Saad all in a second.

Perhaps the family had been waiting for Sylvain for almost an hour when they had given up and just started to drive down the hill. And after maybe 100 yards down the road they see Sylvain cycling towards them they then reverse into the layby. Shooting happens, Saad dies and foot hits the gas spinning the back wheels.

If there is no material cover from the trees near the car it suggests the family could see the shooter all along.

It’s all smoke and mirrors mate and by now the general public have lost interest and the story fell off the front pages days ago.

Stay with me!!! His companion is the local chemist. He also has two children of 9 and 7 from a previous relationship.”

I then googled ‘Ugines pharmacie mollier’ and found this link…
http://translate.google.co.uk/transl…ed=0CCcQ7gEwAA which says the pharmacy is in Grignon.

Some more help from google reveals a link to the French equivalent of companies house (I guess) which lists Claire Schutz as the owner of the pharmacy. A quick look on Facebook reveals Claire Schutz, http://www.facebook.com/claire.schutz including on her friends list Mathis Mollier, Sabrine Mollier, and Christophe Mollier le Tret.

Must be the partner of Sylvain Mollier wouldn’t you say? Especially as she uploaded pics of her new baby in June!

    [Mod/Jon: removed broken link]

    Most interesting paragraphs

Reports of a family feud over inheritance and the presence of a suspicious character at the campground where the family stayed for the first few nights have fueled rumors that the killing was a contract hit. Indeed, a man in dark dress clothes—not the usual campground garb—was spotted searching the area. “He definitely didn’t look like he belonged,” Eli Draaisma, 64, a Dutch tourist, told The Daily Telegraph. “He was not on a holiday.” The next day the Al-Hilli family, who had booked their original camping pad for a full week, then suddenly moved to a different campground, where their camper was parked when they were murdered.

Inconsistencies at the crime scene have also been complicated by the fact that no credible witnesses saw any vehicles leaving the area the afternoon of the murder. Initial reports indicated that a cyclist saw a dark green SUV and a motorbike leaving the area last Wednesday, but those reports have not been corroborated by others who were nearby at the same time, who say they saw no other cars on the roads.

Based on the blood-splatter trajectory, investigators say Zainab was likely beaten and shot in front of the car while her family was locked inside. Each family member who was killed had multiple gunshot wounds, presumably to disable them before two final shots to the head finished them off—a maneuver known as a classic double tap.

French investigators have said that only one gun was used—a Czech-made Skorpion favored by mafia thugs and hit men—but they have not yet ruled out that there was more than one assailant. Police found 25 spent cartridges, meaning the 20-bullet magazine gun had to be reloaded once to continue the killing.
