    More on the ICC dossier. Some of those named must be feeling hot under their collars. I don’t understand why Blair is not being included in the list for possible arraignment. He was after all the prime mover for the war and throughout all those terrible years. Look at Iraq now.

    I bet you could not resist the lure of war criminals, alive or dead.
    One had to withdraw from today’s news coverage, the BBC made London look like the neigbourhood of Khan Younis.

    Our war envoy to the middle east looks more and more troubled as Iraq descends into civil war, shame on him and all he stands for.

    Mary at 8:20 pm: maybe the political instigators have to be dealt with later, when it can be shown that the military people were doing as they were told or with approval. I don’t know, but I hope so. I suppose some clues may be found in past cases at the International Criminal Court.

    This sort of thing just confirms the analysis that power makes the rules – Blair and Sharon aren’t considered war criminals officially because they are on the same side as those with most power.

    If the tables were reversed then they’d be treated as war criminals, but those on the other side who are now (rightly) called war criminals would be eulogised.

    Politics operates on the principle of ‘Might Makes Right’, it always has. Just sometimes it disguises itself in a cloak of democracy (or divine right, or some sort of justification of being the vanguard of the proletariat or whatever Stalinists use as justification).

    Welcome back Mr Murray. It was indeed sad thing to watch. Truth without justice is preety much useless and in many cases even dangerous.

    On the matter of Uzbekistan; you have been missing (at least on this blog) some very interesting developments with regards to Gulnara Karimova, her sister Lola and cheif of bloody SNB Rustam Inoyatov. It seems that old bloody dog (karimov) is out of steam. Something is goiing to happen there in a few years time. It is not justice, not even truth but nature that will bring Karimovs down.

    Arbed, did you discover anything further about that tweet. Does it actually say that Anna Ardin has dropped the charge, or is it speculating that she should drop the charges because 12 months in the Ecuadorian embassy is long enough punishment for rape. Google, while better than nothing, is not a perfect translator. I would value a word for word English translation.
