    I couldn’t be more disinterested in your concept of ‘courage’. I don’t accept certain acts as courage; merely stating the facts.

    Phil… Well said –

    ” So Cameron’s trashing of Libya was legal? Jolly good ”

    Cameron and co are War criminals. Evil Bssstrds…

    David Cameron has admitted that UK special services have assisted the terrorists on the ground, this is against the UN mandate which allowed NATO to intervene in Libya, and is a war crime.

    Also, the following crimes are documented Regarding Libya –

    13 May 2011: The murder of 11 Muslim Imams in Brega.

    30 April 2011: The bombing of the Downs Syndrome School in Tripoli

    30 April 2011: The bombing of a Gaddafi residence, murdering Saif Gaddafi, his friend and 3 Gaddafi children.

    12 June 2011: The bombing of the University of Tripoli. Death toll not yet established.

    22 July 2011: The bombing of the Great Man made Waterway irrigation system, which supplies most Libyans with their drinking water.

    23 July 2011: The bombing of the factory which makes the pipes for the water system, and the murder of 6 of its employees.

    8th August 2011: The bombing of the Hospital at Zliten. Resulting in the murder of a minimum, of 50 human beings, many of them children. The bombing of hospitals is against all international laws, and a most grievous crime.

    Prime Minister’s barrister brother heads legal chambers representing Rebekah Brooks in phone hacking defence

    As Rebekah Brooks pleads not guilty to charges of phone hacking, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and unlawful payment to officials, Prime Minister David Cameron’s high flying barrister brother, head of the legal chambers she is using, told The Drum his role did not present him with any conflict of interest…

    http://www.thedrum.com/news/2013/06/05/prime-minister-s-barrister-brother-heads-legal-chambers-representing-rebekah-brooks

    Wiki:
    He is the brother of David Cameron, the Prime Minister. The Daily Mail called him one of Britain’s top barristers.[8] Some of his high profile cases include heading the legal chambers that represented Rebekah Brooks in a phone hacking defence.

    Rebekah Brooks: only the fools in charge of us would fall for her brand of fake intimacy

    …Most people have far more pressing concerns than the press, I realise. But the relationships exposed, tabloid-style, at the top of all this make incest look positively vanilla. Cameron rides Brooks’s horse! Brooks comforted by Blair! Cameron’s best friend marries Brooks! Cameron’s brother is head of the chambers that defends Brooks! Brooks’s lover Coulson hired by Cameron! Ad nauseam.

    Will Coulson actually serve any time in jail or has his former boss, with the assistance of the BBC, scuppered the £100m court case?

    The latest activities of the entity that Edward Samuel Miliband recently visited and for which he has expressed his undying admiration. ‘Undying’ like so many Palestinians that is. I have missed out the entries for 22 and 23 June for reasons of space. The entry for 22 June includes the shooting dead of a Palestinian man.

    This is the entry for 24 June on Sapiens Promise.

    Israel is like the abused child that grows up to become the abuser. It is a regrettable fact of it’s existence – I think the world would have been a happier place had it never done so – and I detest the role played by the West in supporting it’s unspeakable behaviour over the years and into the foreseeable future. The criminal apartheid state of Israel should be regarded in the same way as it’s predecessor soul-mate, South Africa, and all power to the BDS movement.

  • Ba'al Zevul (Chimp Assassin)

    Something very fishy about the almost complete lack of reporting of the case in the past three months – as though the media didn’t want people to know the strength of the case against Rebekah Brooks. (Tom)

    Private Eye reported regularly as the trial progressed. I imagine its next issue will be very interesting indeed. Disclaimer; I have no connection with Private Eye other than reading it.

    There is also the matter of the goldfish attention span of the MSM – note how Ukraine has been sidelined in favour of Iraq because the atrocities are gorier in Iraq.

    The Times, pre-Murdoch, would have reported the judge’s summing-up, as it took its authoritative news coverage very seriously. Another black mark for Murdoch.

  • Habbabkuk (La vita è bella) !

    I had, in response to a previous post of yours, asked you the following two questions:

    “So what would you propose in order to put your belief into practice – how would you propose to “un-exist” Israel?

    And another quick question: presumably you would also think that Germany had no right to exist after 1945 and Russia after 1990?”

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Is your subsequenr post, reproduced below, the best you can do?
    You know the Invisible Fly? The one that lands on your ear, then, when you reach for something to swat it with, gets up and flies into a hole in space-time, only to reappear when you decide it’s left the room?
    Meet Dale Campbell-Savours, here, inexplicably (he used to be Old Labour) defending Blair.
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/tony-blair/10926853/Peer-hits-out-at-vomit-inducing-backstabbers-who-have-turned-on-Blair.html
    The sycophancy is pretty, well, vomit-inducing. Permit me to question his motives.
    And check this:
    ‘Finally, in my view one of the most important reasons, rarely talked about, was the need to remove Saddam’s threat to the international oil economy.
    ”That threat was a cause of volatility in international oil markets with the potential to destabilise economies and impact on the employment policies in the oil-dependent economies in the West – something we should still have in mind.
    ”These are the real reasons for intervention, not WMD and my only criticism of Blair is that concerns over justification in international law drove us down the WMD route.”
    Tony Blair, 6 February 2003: “Let me just deal with the oil thing because… the oil conspiracy theory is honestly one of the most absurd when you analyse it. The fact is that, if the oil that Iraq has were our concern, I mean we could probably cut a deal with Saddam tomorrow in relation to the oil. It’s not the oil that is the issue, it is the weapons…”
    He lied, Dale. Consciously, repeatedly and knowingly. To the public and to the UN: his only loyalty being to Big Oil. And you’re defending the lie. He lied in order to mask the complete illegality of his attack. And that’s why he’s being, very rightly, criticised. Also he’s a shit peace envoy.
    More of the Savile muck to come out today vis a vis his activities within NHS premises. It is scandalous.
    500 people who have been affected people have come forward.
    Saw this. Don’t know about acceptance by Cameron of him but I reckon they ALL knew about Savile and he was tolerated by the lot of them and encouraged by his association with Thatcher. Cameron was of course a Conservative Party bag carrier/runner in her time.
    On the way to work there is a new comedy being rolled out by the Auntie.
    German newspapers have raised questions about whether it is proper for him to be taking money for meeting influential groups without giving full details.
    An editorial in Bild under the headline “All cards on the table” is scathing: “He wants to say only the bare essentials about his well-remunerated speeches. That might work in his home country of Luxembourg, which is famous for its banking secrecy, but not in Brussels.”
    .
    .
    .
    .
    The controversy arises because Mr Juncker is on the books of at least two international agencies which provide speakers for private events. The fees involved are not published – though an estimate of 15,000 euros (£12,000; $20,400) as the going rate per speech has not been challenged.
    He has given four speeches in all. German newspapers are now referring to the matter as the “Moonlighting Job Affair”.
    Auntie is busy doing the voodoo that it does the best; spreading disinformation/misinformation/delivering hit pieces as per instructions. All the while Throwing out the baby with the bath water as a last resort to stop Junker.
    Not concerned with reinforcing/reiterating/clarifying the degree of corruption of the political class whose allegiance is to their owners, and not their constituents!
    If there is to be any retrial for Coulsono, it should be held in the baronial setting of Eton College where people are taught to lie and ‘get one over’ another. Where the wars are started and peoples are vanished. John Pilger called public school ‘schools for killers’. He is dead right.
    @John Goss re Ukraine
    Most people here know more about the situation than I do, John. I found it, like Syria and the so-called Arab Springs, to be a convoluted mess of intersecting and conflicting agendas and transitional events. The problem is seeing the forest for the trees. We have people who are interested in the minutiae whiles others (me) are more interested in the big picture and anticipating the end-game.
    It doesn’t help any analysis when these conflicts are interconnected with overlapping series of events that go back decades, centuries and in at least one case a couple of millennia. And for the analysis of history, we have to be cognisant of the competing versions that would have us believe in one over all others. Such is the significance of ‘history wars’.
    But the most troubling, puzzling, head messing thing about analysing these quakes of civilisation is determining what is the result of meticulously executed political/military strategy and what is the result of a whim of a mentally disturbed national leader having a bad day. Is North Korea a sublime example of a totalitarian state or an insane asylum?
    However, I would caution against typecasting the Ukraine conflict based on the apparent cultural/political leanings of those engaged in the street-level violence. Big urban conflicts need thugs and thugs need to believe in something. The 20th century has an abundance of textbook examples of young people in their twenties making up the bulk of the slog-chanting, brick throwing thugs that move through the maze of streets and country roads looking for and stamping out all signs of dissent. Meanwhile, the leaders move their chess pieces this way and that way completely free of ideological and moral constraints in their scheming.
    Apols for typos today. Bleary for some reason.
    This play which is on at the National was recommended by a friend.
    Sean O’Casey’s A Silver Tassie.
    The Silver Tassie is a four-act Expressionist play about the First World War, written between 1927 and 1928 by the Irish playwright Seán O’Casey .It was O’Casey’s fourth play and attacks imperialist wars and the suffering that they cause. O’Casey described the play as “A generous handful of stones, aimed indiscriminately, with the aim of breaking a few windows. I don’t think it makes a good play, but it’s a remarkable one.”[
    Habbabkuk, My regret is in the fact the place exists at all, I made no reference to an un-Israel policy, it is a reality and to be lived with. Germany and Russia (Soviet Union) existed prior to WW2 as legitimate states, their continued existence thereafter was not brought into question by me. Israel is a synthetic construct based on Bronze Age myths forced on a defenceless population supported by corrupt nations including our own since, indeed before, it’s inception – what right did Lord Balfour have to promise a third party, the Zionist lobby, an independent mandate of Britain’s in 1917? My name does not have “” parenthesis around it. Alex
    Forbidden Bookshelf titles fill in the blanks of America’s repressed history by resurrecting books that focused on issues and events that are too often left in the dark, including abortion, organized crime, the CIA, and financial inequality.
    The series launches on June 10 with five books:
    Blowback: America’s Recruitment of Nazis and Its Destructive Impact on Our Domestic and Foreign Policy by Christopher Simpson,
    The Phoenix Program: America’s Use of Terror in Vietnam by Douglas Valentine,
    The Search for an Abortionist: The Classic Study of How American Women Coped with Unwanted Pregnancy Before Roe v. Wade by Nancy Howell Lee,
    Interference: How Organized Crime Influences Professional Football by Dan E. Moldea,
    The Lords of Creation: The History of America’s 1 Percent by Frederick Lewis Allen.
    Each of the first four titles includes a new introduction. Additional books by I. F. Stone, Gerard Colby, Charlotte Dennett, Kati Marton, Robert Fitch, Bertram Gross, and John Dinges will be released later this summer.’ (Mark Crispin Miller)
    After last Thursday’s meeting between a matched pair of twisters, Vucic and Blair, in Belgrade, contradictory reports were forthcoming: initially, Vucic announced that Blair had offered his help in obtaining EU membership, support, advice, warm human being, etc, etc. Then it was semi-officially announced that Blair would not be advising the Serbian government and would not be paid for his (£7000 an hour just for the plane) trip. This probably amounts to no more than concealing the notion of Alastair Campbell, subcontracted to Walking Eagle Media Productions Inc (or someone like that), doing the advising, and the cost of the trip being met by HMG, the EU or Zurich Insurance. However, this link suggests that Vucic may still be a little ambivalent about Blair-
