I am beginning to think that the people who sprayed aircraft at Brize Norton were deliberately allowed onto the base. This gave the government the ultimate excuse to ban Palestine Action, and tighten up the already draconian protest laws.
After all, it would not be the first time that security has been rather absent when governments need an excuse to withdraw freedoms from the general public, and severely restrict their right to peaceful protest.

Interesting thought, Jon.
There can be no doubt that agents of the state were working undercover in Palestine Action. Members of the police “anti-terrorist” Special Demonstration Squad have infiltrated all kinds of peaceful protest organisations, including Palestine solidarity groups, over many years. There’s no way would they have exempted PA.
Such a spy certainly would have alerted his superiors to a planned action at Brize Norton, in which case the lax security there does become suspicious.

Yes Mart, it just seemed too much of a coincidence that the government rushed to proscribe Palestine Action almost immediately after the Brize spraying incident.
That was on June 20th, and by July 4th any support or membership of the group became a criminal offence. Government never moves that quickly unless there is a state of emergency.
Also, the ridiculous estimate of the damage (£7 million) seems to be the sort of right wing BS which regularly accompanies these reports.
What is also suspicious, is the paint sprayers not only managed to evade security on their way in, but also on their way out as well. They were on electric scooters, not crawling around in camouflage gear. I have yet to discover any official report of how or where they gained access to the base.
