The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?
Tim.
The “lack of links” is because the references are there for you to find. I only “recalled” the relevant references and found them.
If an officer was to go to court, then those “references” would form the basis of any court case.
And they would no doubt “win” based on those points of law.
Did you read those relevant points by the way ?
I only ask as “guidelines” are pretty much that…and they would NOT be relied upon “in court”, which is where an officer would end if he was to be charged with “murder”.
Whodunnit? There is complete silence now in the MSM/public sphere. That’s a little unusual. What seemed really odd to me, though from the beginning was the chief investigator in the French police’s suggestion that the crime might take a decade to be solved, or might never be solved. That seems to me a little too much like PR, possibly based on knowledge that this was some kind of assassination, rather than a guy throwing up his hands in exasperation and intoning, “Merde!” They’ve not yet pulled out a patsy, they may yet do so. Anyone have any ideas – after 15,000 posts (plus 7.5 thousand on a previous thread) – about who might have done it? Was it The Increment? Any thoughts?
Hi James, how’s the flying?
Tim V, how’s Tim IV? Did you unseat him, a la Richard III (let’s not mention Richard II, even the thought is too painful, unless one is talking Wat Tyler)?
Don’t mind my occasional interloping – just passing by on my slow trek to the galactic centre.
Hey Suhayl.
Yeh, still strapped in the seat.
Seeing the world….. thru a “transfer bus” from the airport.
And they say it’s all “glam” !
It pays the bills..and keeps the wolf from the door. What more can I say.
No further here. Many dead ends. Hey ho !
How are you doing ? How’s tricks ?
Hope all is good with you.
James
Tim !
You find my words “offensive”!
I’m from Derry, Ireland (that’s not “stroke city” (Or “UK”).
I am not a believer in the UK Police Force…but those guys, that day did there job.
I must provide links….as the nursing home hasn’t got wifi !
Tim…. do not try to fight me on anything but fact !
Anders7777 (troll) tried…and failed. I won.
Wish him no peace but… “I win” !
Not sure whether or not this new event will become significant for our investigations, however, money from criminal sources could always become significant.

Particularly mafia money, drug dealer money transfer and terror funding was apparently done that way.

29 May, 2013 – 10:05 pm interesting. Arn’t RT (Russian Television) having fun with these stories? This is a global game of “We’re the good guys, you’re the bad guys”. In fact the distinction is more imagined than real, and neither side can claim moral or legal superiority. Both attest to maxim that “Might is right” and “Power corrupts …. etc” Nor is Britain in the clear. In fact we are in the illegal business up to our armpits as the latest news from Afghanistan only confirms. Sadly it appears Her Majesty’s Ministers require an urgent briefing on what our cherished “Rule of Law” really means. What it certainly isn’t, is pronouncements by the Secretary of Defence, that arbitrarily detaining people in goals without any due process, “is lawful”.

Could this be the real reason for all these strange events? Run for the hills.
Tim..
Great video. I have to agree with all it says.
I can add much more….BUT didn’t we see this coming ?
I have BUPA Gold. I have saved like mad since I was young. J bought gold bars I store since my time working in DXB (and have kept up that).
So why should I worry if there is a MASSIVE demand on a “welfare state” within the U.K. ?
I don’t live in the U.K. …so it has always been a “thing” that “you look after yourself”. You save.
It’s not a case of “I’m alright Jack” but many years ago, could no one see that “state spending” would grow so much ? I did.
The way it works is…lets have a war !
OR save your money…and do it “off shore”.
Why should “politics” take care of everyone ?
Hmmmm …. is there a trainee camp for MI5 agents in New Zealand? 🙂
Once again France and New Zealand mentioned plus a hero at the murder scene. Does she know WBM? I bet that she does, LOL! She must have met him at Vauxhall …

Quote:
Mrs Loyau-Kennett was on her way home from visiting family in France when she ended up in Woolwich. She was born in Brittany, but her family is British – her great-grandfather worked for MI5 and her grandfather was awarded the Defence Flying Cross by George V for his efforts in the First World War. She came to England as a teenager and, after living briefly in New Zealand, has been here since.
Off topic (or rather not off topic). Those who are dangerous enough to leak or to whistleblow a criminal plot are being killed. Saad might have had some kind of proof as a whistleblower, did he?
http://m.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/officials-man-who-knew-boston-bomber-was-unarmed-when-shot/2013/05/29/21f05b74-c8a8-11e2-9f1a-1a7cdee20287_story.html?wpisrc=al_national
“her grandfather was awarded the Defence Flying Cross by George V”.
What is the “Defence Flying Cross” ?
You see they “throw” these gems in. And everyone runs around quoting them, but no one bothers saying “Hey ! What’s that then”.
The “D” in “The DFC” is does not mean “Defence”.
Who started this story ? How did it spread ? What’s going on ?
I may be wrong. There maybe some strange medal that was rarely given.
As a footnote. There were 1,100 Distinguished Flying Crosses awarded in World War One.
Little “mistakes” given out. Why do they do that !
All Distinguished Flying Crosses awarded go in The London Gazette.
And this guy Basil Bertram Kennett did get one.
But he didn’t get it in WWI. (The Flying Corp)
He got it on the 20th of September 1941 (RAF)
http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/35366/pages/6897/page.pdf
And there ya go !
A little bit of “googling” and we have the story.
“Her grandfather Basil Kennett she described as a “real British hero” having fought for four years as a flight lieutenant for the RAF during World War II, for which he won a distinguished flying cross (DFC), while her great grandfather William Kennett worked for MI5 during World War I”.
http://www.thisisthewestcountry.co.uk/news/cornwall_news/10449956.Hero_Helston_mum_tells_of_Woolwich_terror_attack_confrontation__INTERVIEW/
Her grandfather got the DFC (Basil)in WWII.
And her great grandfather worked for MI5 (William)in WWI.
Ingrid Loyau-Kennett – “The Angel of Woolwich”.
Does anyone detect a parallel with the way in which WBM was immediately lauded by the French for his heroism? On her journey “she thought Drummer Rigby had been injured in a car accident”. (Daily Mail) Co-incidence with WBM and Chevaline?
Not only so, but as BB points out above we also have conjunctions with France, England, New Zealand and even I would hazard a guess from accent (not French) and Christian name (Ingrid), with Sweden?
Then we have a Grandfather working for MI5??? May we enquire if links with that organisation still exist. They most certainly do on the perpetrators’ side.
She lives in Helston, Cornwall apparently (of course an important Naval base – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RNAS_Culdrose_(HMS_Seahawk)) so we may have an aircraft connections as well.
We are told she is 48 (slap in the middle of SAH and WBM) a teacher and former girl guide leader. As I referred to earlier, her reported view that the killers should be executed in as painful manner as possible comes as something of a surprise.
Is she an incredibly brave, selfless and caring humanist or a hard-hearted supporter of not only capital punishment but also torture?!! Is this the official Girl Guide policy these days? Very strange.
She is also to come to conclusions about events and has no reticence to pronounce them, deciding they were from a common objective without possibly knowing the detailed circumstances.
The Mail quotes her as saying ” Ingrid, who was born in France, said the stabbing of a French soldier near Paris last week suggested there is a terrifying new ‘trend’ for attacking soldiers on the streets of Europe.
She said: ‘It is the same thing, it seems to me that there is a trend to attack like this.”
Her actions, high media profile and comments have a scripted quality to them not unlike the way WBM was paraded to BBC and Sky.
Then I would pose the question, if as she said, she was travelling back home from France, what was she doing on a bus in Woolwich? Does anyone know the route of the bus she was on? There may be a quite innocent explanation but I should like to hear it.
My transcript of the Mail video statement @ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2332755/Angel-Woolwich-Ingrid-Loyau-Kennett-returns-Lee-Rigbys-murder-scene.html?ito=feeds-newsxml is as follows:
“Something my friend just TELL me to do it. And I (aaaah) just did it. I had a feeling he wanted to communicate something so I thought I want to do it. I didn’t want him to think one murder was enough attention and maybe he needed to kill a second time (maybe he want attention?) so I didn’t want him to think that, and I was also concerned he was talking about avenging children and in fact civilians and uuuuum there were SO many mothers who had nothing better to do than stop here with their children picking them from school I was really scared for that no nothing I wanted to do to leave him and able to do that unless he’s fine, I’m sure, then OK, I left eventually then but he was OK so …. To see the extent of public emotion…. how peoples feel, yea? … everybody feeling, yea ”
The general points I would make that raise obvious questions are 1. Who was her “friend” on the bus who told her to go confront a crazed axe wielding murderer, who had just stabbed an individual to death? Strange friend that! Were they male or female and what was their background?
2. Why was she on that particular bus on a journey from where to where?
3. How come the bus driver let her off? The obvious advice procedure in such a situation for the driver would be to close/lock the door to prevent passengers leaving or the threat boarding the bus. What half competent driver would do otherwise?
4. She states that he was threatening “civilians”. Interesting word to use as it suggests “as distinct from service personnel”. Did she use the term because she knew at the time the body belonged to a serviceman (there was no way she could tell from that distance given the casual track suit he was wearing) or because she subsequently learned this and subconsciously incorporated it in her story accordingly?
The written Mail Report adds: “‘As I told the attacker, if he wants to fight British soldiers then join a regular army. This is not the way to do it, it was cowardly.
‘But no, he wanted a war on London streets, that is not very courageous.’” which rather confirms she immediately assumed he had attacked a soldier. How? Perhaps he told her? If so how did he know?
5. We have her emotive reference to “mothers and children”, both caring and critical. Mothers and children – yes very topical.
Of course all these connections, coincidences and questions may have very logical, innocent explanations, in which case this woman, as I have said before, deserves a medal for bravery. Given the many other strange facets to this event, and the recency of Boston where undoubtedly black art manipulation was applied, and abject failure in relation to the Chevaline incident so far, it would be helpful to all those of suspicious mind, if they were explained.
In contrast to the blaze of publicity given to this brave lady, we have heard virtually nothing from any other witnesses as to how the car came to crash so violently as it did and where it it did in relation to where it allegedly struck the victim (you will remember it was claimed SM was also struck by a vehicle before being shot) Why was more time required for the autopsy?
And why no mention of “beheading” that was originally put out?
“Police said the autopsy showed Rigby died from “multiple incised wounds”. With a cause of death established, police said an inquest on Rigby’s death will open Friday at Southwark Coroner’s Court.” http://www.straitstimes.com/breaking-news/world/story/woolwich-attack-autopsy-shows-victim-died-cuts-stab-wounds-20130529
Then we have high profile photographs of the “Armed Response Vehicle” and its high powered arsenal of weapons. Are we being subtly conditioned to thinking this is what to expect in future? Policing in Britain in the 21st Century?
Meanwhile we are told “A 21-year-old arrested in connection with the murder of soldier Lee Rigby has denied any involvement in the ‘atrocity’.
Hayden Allen, who is reportedly a Muslim convert, was held on Saturday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder by detectives from Scotland Yard’s Counter Terrorism Command.
Specialist firearms officers used a Taser on Allen as he was arrested in Charlton Lane, in Greenwich, south east London, some three days after the horrific killing of Drummer Rigby. He was later released on bail.
Allen, who is understood to have attended the same mosque as the two main suspects, said: ‘I had no prior knowledge of the atrocity that happened last week and I played no part in the incident or the lead-up to it whatsoever.” (Daily Mail)
Can suspects and arrestees (even if innocent presumably) now expect to be “tasered” whilst being arrested? No explanation. No apology if unnecessary. Shades of Boston here too?
Once again, it is the “great grandfather” that is said to have been in MI5 during WWI. The “grandfather” was the pilot in WWII
A snippet…when looking up “Basil Kennett”
“Sons of William Bertram Kennett, may have been born USA/Canada as William Went there 1915 and they were born 1915 and 1917 approx.
Last record shows family leaving England for Shanghai 1920.
William was a solicitor and may have returned to USA/Canada before WW2”
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards/board/trying_to_find/thread/953364
Here he is William in Shanghai (North China Herald) being admitted to the British Bar there… but in 1916
http://newspaperarchive.com/north-china-herald/1916-01-15/page-64
The reason why I looked up “William Bertram Kennett” is that Basil is named as “Basil Bertram Kennett” when mentioned in The London Gazette dated 1941
What’s the world coming to when the former head of a civilian spy agency watchdog group is arrested on fraud, breach of trust, bribery and money laundering charges:
http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/former-csis-watchdog-boss-arthur-porter-arrested-on-fraud-charges-1.1299484

http://www.ctvnews.ca/canada/arthur-porter-has-15-days-to-contest-extradition-to-canada-1.1301204
Note: the arrest happened during a stopover while travelling internationally. Note: SNC Lavalin involved (think engineering projects in Libya and elsewhere, the arrest of a former company official in Switzerland and the mysterious failed plot allegedly involving the removal of Saadi Ghadafi to safety in Mexico). Apparently, diagnosing one’s self with cancer is a way to excuse one’s self from facing the music.
Perhaps it never occurred to anyone that appointing a Sierra Leone diplomat to head Canada’s spy agency watchdog might present a conflict of interest.
How much of this kind of thing goes on elsewhere in the world, and does it place operatives at risk?
Context in terms of Iraq:

Basil got his DFC in 1943. Nice one Basil
http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/issues/36248/supplements/5024/page.pdf
Interestingly (and of absolutely nothing to do with anything) he was with No 464 Squadron and that was a Royal Australian Air Force squadron.
Of course RAAF squadrons were made of men from many countries.
Normally only 30% to 50% were Australian.
Nice summary, tim.
Good find, James.
I cannot add very much except that i believe that mrs. Kennett works for the government. Perhaps she even knows Mr. MARTIN.
More on Mrs. Kennett.
