A Change of Political Climate 169

I just watched a recording of Westminster yesterday where Tory Minister Amber Rudd announced the government was rapidly dropping the subsidy for solar energy down to zero. Yet the government has just agreed to pay to the nuclear industry a subsidy that will dwarf, in real terms, all the subsidies ever given to the coal and renewable industries combined, and what is more will be paid to the Chinese and the French. I am lost for words.

Nor am I in any way pleased to be proved instantly correct, that Western governments view terrorist incidents like that in Paris primarily as a means to enhance their power and social control. The French government has immediately seized on the pretext to ban all demonstrations at the forthcoming climate change summit in Paris. Yet they have not banned gatherings of large crowds generically, for example at football matches.

Cameron’s announcement of 15% budget and staff increases for the security services was made immediately after the Paris attacks, but was plainly not something thought up in a few hours. The plans for mass surveillance had already been announced, and would have to be staffed. This kind of sickening political opportunism is the true disrespect to the innocent dead.

Anon1, the CIA and MI6 have never been very musical.

They’re very good at releasing Muslim bogeyman videos, though.

Get back under the stairs, and don’t forget spare batteries for your torch.

Chris Spivey is a major influence around here. No doubt there will be tales of crisis actors, CGI and holograms which will be regurgitated by our blog loons. Another one is that the terrorists had been drugged by the CIA.

Prove to me that they aren’t fake, like everything else about ISIS.

Do you subscribe to the ISIS monthly magazine?

“How do people on here feel about this?”

Chris Spivey doesn’t exist, it’s an elaborate hoax by the security services. Have you seen the photographs of him? Most obvious photoshops I’ve ever seen plus nobody has ever seen him and David Ike in the same room together.

    Need I say more?

    It is called the Free Syrian Army, because they receive Free guns,ammunition,supplies and finance from the Western NATO powers and their Gullf Monarchy allies. Simple(;

  • Anon1

You joke, Fred, but if Spivey goes any further off the rails they will be claiming he is a creation of the security services to discredit conspiracy theorists.

The Private Eye report noted that despite the MPs’ register of interests including a new category of ‘family members engaged in lobbying’ Rudd “makes no mention of her brother or his interests”, and added, “The Eye asked the Department of Energy & Climate Change if Rudd had told its permanent secretary about Roland and Finsbury (another conflict of interest procedure) but it did not reply”.’ Wikipedia

‘The government is trying to push through the plan that would allow private companies to access our personal medical data and increase privatisation of the NHS. But together, we could stop it.

The scheme’s called Care.data. 38 Degrees members, along with other campaigners and the media, helped to put the brakes on it when it was first announced back in 2014. But now it’s back. And it still plans to give private companies, hungry to make more money privatising our NHS, access to our data.

But there’s an opportunity for us to change this. The people behind the scheme are asking 38 Degrees members what we think about the plans. So let’s use this opportunity to show them that we won’t let our health data fall into the slippery hands of private companies.

Tell the government to keep our medical records away from private companies:

    ADD YOUR VOICE

A different, anti-privatisation version of Care.data could be used to make our NHS better. Doctors and researchers could use our data to improve public health and develop new treatments.

But the current plan offers our valuable data to corporations. That’s a breach of our privacy – experts say private companies could see details of our medical history. Even if our data was shared anonymously, experts fear people could be easily identifiable – especially if they are living with a rare health condition. It’s also a dangerous boost to privatisation – giving corporations data which will help them take over more of the NHS.

Allowing private companies, like Serco, to access our data is part of the drip, drip privatisation of our NHS that 38 Degrees members are so keen to stop. That’s why we’ve worked together to keep Care.data out of the hands of the corporations before – and why we could have a big impact together again.

So let’s take this chance to fix their plans now, before it’s too late. Can you add your views? You don’t need to be an expert and it should only take a minute or two.’

Agreed. But note when I made exactly the same point about these lunatic theories on the last thread, some numpty immediately accused me of putting out the various conspiracy theories I was denouncing. In fact, he claimed I was the only one doing so.

  • Kempe

” Prove to me that they aren’t fake, ”

Oh dear. Orbiting teapot time again.

You know things have hit rock bottom when Chris Spivey gets a namecheck. Even a lot of Icke’s disciples think he’s barking.

  • glenn_uk

MJ: “When Germany closed down its older nuclear power stations following Fukishima it replaced them with new coal-fired stations. It could do this and still meet its emissions commitments by utilising modern filtering/scrubbing technologies that reduce emissions to acceptable levels.”

Unfortunately, it won’t. This “Clean Coal” technology is a myth, it doesn’t exist. And if someone is stupid enough to send you a link from some fossil-fuel industry sponsored stooge, purporting to say how all this wondrous technology means we can fire up coal power stations no problems, I trust you’ll treat it with the respect it deserves.

    Glenn

You’ve lots of experience dealing with Spivey nuts. I defer to your expertise in this matter.

Absolutely anything that challenges the conspiraloon is part of the conspiracy. When they are challenged by evidence, the evidence has been planted/faked. When the conspiracy is refuted, it has been put about to discredit them. You can’t win.

  • glenn_uk

Anon1: See – we finally agree on something! Knew it would happen one day. I don’t “hate your guts” either, btw – just a lot^W most of your viewpoints.

  • RobG

Kempe, I have never said anything about Chris Spivey, either on this thread or any other.

My contention is that the only info we get about ISIS comes from ‘anonymous sources’, in government, security experts, etc. Likewise, the ‘anonymous security experts’ tell us about the latest ISIS video, which just happens to be all over YouTube, which is one of the most tightly controlled publishers in the world.

And also likewise, can anyone here point me to a press interview done with anyone in ISIS?

Hence, because it’s all so nebulous, the burden of proof lays with those who are so quick to dangle the ISIS bogeyman before us.

A real stench in the Tory party is emanating from employing Mark Clarke in their RoadTrip and about whom I wrote earlier.
    https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2015/11/a-change-of-political-climate/comment-page-1/#comment-562379

He was leading all those young Tory clone cheerleaders following Dave round the country. Clarke was even endorsed by Cameron, whose judgement has been called into question before, at the party conference.

The House of Lords just welcomed a woman linked to a bullying scandal that is tearing the Tory party apart
    http://uk.businessinsider.com/baroness-emma-pidding-house-of-lords-mark-clarke-bullying

Clarke was threatening to blackmail Halfon.
    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/11997545/Cabinet-minister-admits-to-having-affair-amid-claims-senior-Tory-aide-threatened-to-blackmail-him.html

Halfon is a leading light in the Con Friends of Israel.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Halfon

Here is Clarke in a photo with Shapps also a prominent Zionist supporter, member of a Jewish youth set up, the B’nai B’rith Youth Organisation, lied about using aliases alias to run private companies and one time party chairman. Sacked from the Cabinet but is now a junior minister in Greening’s DFiD.

So we have sexual harassment, bullying, impropriety, a suicide, threats of blackmail and god knows what else. Nice crowd.

    ________________

The above is fine polemics but defective logic.

If the plans to enhance security have already been announced and will have to be staffed then it cannot be opportunism for the govt to now announce the extent of that staffing (and its cost). This is because the announcement would have to have been made at some time anyway. Opportunism could only have occurred if the govt had said nothing about its plans to enhance security before and only announced them immediately after the terror attacks.”

I would have to agree with Habbabkuk–not one of Craig’s best.

Also, the bit about “the true disrespect to the innocent dead.” rather sounds like a cliche. For, Sir, once you’re dead you are dead. Finished, gone. They cannot be shown respect or disrespect. If that is what you think you/they are doing, it is only a figment of imagination.

Death is a subject often used emotionally, e.g. if I cry for a dead person, am I actually, really, truly crying for them or am I crying for myself?

(Mary, please note the Truth here and try better to understand what is real ‘Truth’. Shame you have a lot of time to smell the roses and understand the meaning of Life and Death but all you do is escape into being Keyboard Warrior-Woman.)

I may post a video on Death….and Life later.

You are absolutely right: it is idiotic to subsidize power generation or any other industry. But Cameroon, like most other Brits, is a Liberal at heart, which is to say a totalitarian. Every aspect of life must be regulated in accordance with Liberal principles. The net result is a society rent by hatreds, impoverished by bureaucratic ineptitude, made stupid by the Kindergarten-to-middle-aged indoctrination process called “education,” and ultimately wiped out by mass immigration by aliens of a different race, culture and creed.

The ostensible reason for subsidizing windmills or nuclear power or whatever is to comply with some silly agreement made by international fools to reduce atmospheric carbon dioxide emissions. But you don’t need the silly lying buggers of the UN IPCC climate warming science brigade to fix the problem of poisoning the planet with carbon dioxide. You just need a carbon tax. Which I would explain here, except that I just wrote four posts on my own blog on the subject, see here:

I wonder if anyone else has noticed that Mary, while having a down on all successful people/movers and shakers (except of course J. Pilger Esq and Dr Mads “Mad3 Gilbert), appears to show a particular animus against successful/mover and shaker women?

I wonder what the explanation for that could be?

Surely it can’t be because Mary considers women to be the weaker and gentler sex and that it is therefore inappropriate that a woman should rise to the top of any profession or sphere of activity – because that would reveal Mary to be a sexist and to share very old-fashioned views about the role of women in society (perhaps Kinder, Kueche and Kirche?)

States and financial institutions suspected of managing or providing funds to Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) now Daesh, should have sanctions placed on them, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn told MPs.

Speaking to the House of Commons, the Labour leader urged Parliament to take more action to clamp down on institutions which provide “vital infrastructure” to the terror group in Syria and Iraq.

Corbyn said one of the main ways to stop IS from functioning is to cut off its resources, suggesting the EU would also need to play a part in suffocating the organization.

I couldn’t agree more lets start with the US Britain, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
