A Warning from Lebanon 183

In not quite one year since the ceasefire deal in Lebanon, Israel has broken the ceasefire 4,600 times. It has killed hundreds of people, including infants, demolished tens of thousands of homes and annexed five areas of Lebanon. It was supposed to withdraw completely.

This situation is being replicated in detail in Gaza. In particular, the ceasefire in Lebanon is “guaranteed” by the USA and France and overseen by an international committee referred to as “the Mechanism”. The “Mechanism” is chaired by the USA. Accordingly the guarantors have refused to acknowledge a single breach of the ceasefire because the US-controlled “Mechanism” calls them counter-terrorist operations aimed at disarming Hezbollah.

The United Nations defers to “the Mechanism” and thus to the USA, and the presence of UN peacekeeping troops in Southern Lebanon is therefore useless. Lebanon is now under control of the US/Israeli puppet administration of General Aoun and effectively being run by US Special Envoy Tom Barrack.

Barrack stated that the borders of Israel and Syria are meaningless and that “Israel will go where they want, when they want, and do what they want to protect the Israelis and their border to make sure on October 7th it never happens again”. This is from the “guarantor” of the Lebanese ceasefire agreement.

There can be no doubt that Trump’s US-chaired “Board of Peace” for Gaza will take exactly the same line as “the Mechanism” in Lebanon. It is axiomatic that Israel will never honour any agreement. They never have.

What we know from Lebanon is not just that the Israelis will break any agreement, but that the American “guarantors” will support their continued violence as “counter-terrorism”. While the Gaza peacekeeping force may not be UN blue-helmeted, it will also almost certainly have terms of engagement that defer to the US-chaired “Board of Peace”.

Back in February I discussed the failure of the Lebanese ceasefire agreement with the UN spokesman in Lebanon, and the primacy of the “Mechanism”. In light of the Gaza agreement negotiations, it is worth revisiting that interview.

Hamas were right to enter the ceasefire negotiations and the prisoner exchange is a good thing. I am not supportive of Hamas’s policy of taking prisoners, other than active service personnel, and I do not believe it has done their cause any good these last two years, particularly as Israel had taken more hostages than they have released in exchanges. The “hostage” narrative, however twisted and unfair, has muddied the waters and hurt the Palestinians. So I shall be pleased to see the end of that phase, and of course welcome the release of Palestinians.

Israel will still hold over 9,000 Palestinian hostages after the releases, and possibly many more.

I will not go through the 20 points of the Agreement, all of which are just headings requiring the substance. But the Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza is of course fundamental, and entirely obscure in its timing and completeness. The “first stage” still leaves the Israeli military in over 60% of Gaza.

Netanyahu has made plain to the Israeli public that he has no intention of the Israeli military leaving Gaza, or of agreeing to a Palestinian state. That this agreement is a phoney is not hidden at all – Israel is not pretending it will honour it.

But if the process gets three things into Gaza – food, journalists and peacekeepers – that will be a major improvement. I do not think you should underestimate the impact on world opinion once journalists can actually get into Gaza, witness the destruction and interview people. There is nobody more cynical than I about the mainstream media, but they are not going to be able to prevent the truth from bleeding into their coverage.

The victory for Palestine will take a few years. Israel is now a pariah state in the eyes of the majority of the inhabitants of this globe, and that will accelerate. Hamas are negotiating from a position of weakness, it is true. We are apparently going to see formal colonialism restored in Gaza for a while. There is more pain to be endured. But the balance is shifting.

I have two quotes for you, one from the West and one from the East.

The mills of God grind slowly, but they grind exceeding small.

They plan, and they plan, but Allah is the best of planners.

People who think the Resistance capture of civilian prisoners is a no-no should reflect on four points:

    1. Whereas the Resistance have released video of themselves treating civilian prisoners, including children, in a humane and kind way, the settler Occupation never does the same with resistance prisoners. They prefer to film themselves with smashed up children’s toys and stolen Palestinian underwear, further humiliating those whom they have made homeless, and whom they have wounded, bereaved, starved, and murdered. Such monstrous savagery is an important part of the Zionist army’s culture. Personally I would love to see both sides abide by the rule of not harming or capturing civilians, but it ain’t going to happen, any more than it happened in Algeria. Anyone who’s interested already knows that it’s only one of the two sides that humiliates, rapes, and tortures prisoners. Hamas and their allies have the moral high ground.

    2. You can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs.

    3. It’s not as if Zionists in Palestine haven’t got anywhere to go.

    4. Settling occupied territory is not only illegal – and the whole of Palestine is occupied territory – but it always relies on military force.

    • M.J.

The omelette argument reminds me of a scene from the 70s series Edward and Mrs Simpson, when Queen Mary rebukes Edward VIII for using it (in the context of defending Mussolini’s fascism) by saying that people are not eggs.

      • Brian Red

Point 2 was inapt, because what Robespierre is supposed to have meant was that if one wants to smash the ruling class one shouldn’t worry about bringing about the existence of smashed up little bits of the ruling class – which is true but not really relevant to taking prisoners in Palestine.

Queen Mary got engaged to Jack the Ripper, though – after 1888, not before, although before she was queen – so we shouldn’t take any lessons from her!

        • Cynicus

“Queen Mary got engaged to Jack the Ripper”
          ====
Oh heck. Or do I mean TECK?

Princess Mary of that demesne did get engaged to the Duke of Clarence in 1891, the year before he died and three years after the Whitechapel murders.

If there is a serious historian who supports your hypothesis then I should like to hear of him.

(NOT Stephen Knight – as serious an historian as the author of the Da Vinci Code)

Professor Norman Finkelstein thinks that Netanyahu wants to exterminate all the Palestinians and thinks he will get away with it, quoting as an example all American Presidents who enabled the extermination of the native American Indians, this was done over an extended period beginning in the 17th century and did not end till the 20th century, has it dented the reputation of any of them?
George Washington did good things but he was known by the Iroquois as the town destroyer, does anyone mention that, does that taint his reputation?
In the same way Netanyahu is confident, and this is what he cares about, and it is a deep seated conviction by him, he will be known as the person who liberated the whole land of Israel, yes people were exterminated, people were expelled, nobody is going to remember, he is going to occupy, in his mind, the honored place of having liberated the whole of the land of Israel, and in my opinion there is a good chance that he will succeed. He also mentions when Khashoggi was murdered by MBS, and Biden said he would have nothing to do with MBS, how long did that last? People remember victories not the defeats, Norman goes on, I think his calculations are correct in 2 to 3 years from now it will all be forgotten and all of what they call eretz Israel will have been liberated from the non Jews: How to make sense of the world after October 7th 2023 | Norman Finkelstein | UNAPOLOGETIC https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?q=how+to+make+sense+of+the+world+after+oct7th+2023+++norman+finkelstein+unapologetic+&mid=CD578990EB27A76163D5CD578990EB27A76163D5&FORM=VIRE Finkelstein makes these observations around 36 minutes into video.
    Very depressing from Professor Finkelstein.
In my opinion who is going to stop Netanyahu. Netanyahu has just visited Putin and assured him that Israel has no intention of attacking Iran [Yeah right]. Since Iran is not part of eretz Israel Netanyahu calculates because he only wants to subdue and secure eretz Israel [for now] Iran should butt out.
The west will not stop him, the surrounding Arab states have been shown to be only interested in their own survival, others are simply not strong enough.

    • Harry Law

It could be Professor Finkelstein thinks that once the Palestinians in Netanyahu’s plan have been exterminated (ethnically cleansed) there is nothing for Iran or anyone else to fight over. They have calculated (rightly in my opinion) that an attack on Iran would be catastrophic for both Israel and world trade, hence Netanyahu’s pledge to Putin, ‘Israel will not attack Iran’. Iran being the only force capable and willing to help the Palestinians have declined the invitation to the Sharm El Sheikh “peace signing” ceremony. Netanyahu knows this is his last opportunity to fulfill his claimed destiny, and keep Iran from interfering, Finkelstein thinks he may do it, I am not so sure.

  • Republicofscotland

Zionist backslapping exercise going on in the occupiers/settlers illegal so called parliament (Knesset) in Palestine right now.

All the monsters are in attendance Netanyahu, Starmer, Trump etc – its akin to Roosevelt, Churchill and De Gaulle sitting down with Hitler after Hitler had committed genocide and lauding Hitler for his efforts.

    • zoot

Not quite, because in this instance western leaders were enthusiastic co-participants in the Genocide.

It couldn’t have lasted more than a few weeks without the constant conveyor belt of bombs from liberal governments in Europe, North America, Australia. (The world’s guarantors of human rights and democracy according to the wilfully dumb usual suspects).

Starmer continues to supply f-35 parts, aerial surveillance and military training to the army of an apartheid state he knows is committing genocide.

      Another Electronic Intifada piece:

“Starmer empties Holocaust studies of meaning as UK aids Gaza holocaust”

      https://electronicintifada.net/content/starmer-empties-holocaust-studies-meaning-uk-aids-gaza-holocaust/50906

      • Republicofscotland

        Zoot

Yeah I now what you mean – I was kinda looking for a quick adage type similarity, and that’s what popped into my head – basically, I was angry and disgusted with that lot – acting like they were at the Academy Awards.

        • zoot

          Of course, I understand.

It’s just there’s been a cynical effort all the way through to erase Britain’s involvement in the Genocide, even on a site like this. It’s completely shameless, relentless and ongoing, regardless of how many facts they are confronted with or how many times.

For anyone living in this country the main outrage of the last two years has been our own Government’s outsized participation and the silent complicity of the rest of the political and media class.

Given the enormity of the crime the deniers are trying to suppress, they must always be confronted and reminded.

        • zoot

RoS, I am not suggesting for one minute that you are one of them. Just check and see who is trying to pretend it has just been about Netanyahu and Trump and erase Britain’s. It is not only the Slava Ukrani lot either.

          • Republicofscotland

Thanks for that Zoot – yes I agree completely the likes of Starmer, Merz, Erdogan and the EU bigwigs such as von der Leyen, Kallas etc, they too are all evil monsters, and if they too don’t go to prison (and I doubt they will) it will be an utter travesty – closer to home Starmer, must find himself in the dock at the Hague for his part in the genocide, as should Lammy, and a few others – and as for military personnel the excuse, I was just following orders shit doesn’t cut it.

The likes of Blair who was salivating like Pavlov’s Dog – at he the thought of Gaza real estate coming onto the market – should also be in prison for his war crimes in Iraq – never mind what he does with Gaza in – mind in the near future, and it will only be bad for the utterly oppressed Palestinians.

          • zoot

There are sick fkrs prolific on here who pretend to care about the Genocide while denying the key role of those politicians (and previously the Democratic party).

This ghoulish gaslighting has been the signature of the Craig Murray site for the past two years.

  • Republicofscotland

Netanyahu telling Trump that he will get Israel’s highest award the Israel Prize – again its akin to say Hitler awarding Roosevelt the German Order.

    • Stevie Boy

Yet we all know, the killing hasn’t stopped and will be ramped up again fairly soon now that all the zionist ‘ravers’ have all been freed. The countdown starts …

        • Goose

Today’s coverage is like performative theater of the grotesque.

You wouldn’t know from the rehabilitating coverage, Israel is led by wanted war criminals and is accused of genocide. Can anyone imagine western media giving Russia and Putin this kind of PR image redefining coverage? Israel once again, with the help of complicit, compromised western media, gets to present itself on its own propaganda terms; as the ultimate victim in all this. As Craig stated, holding the hostages was a huge mistake, as it gave the Israel the thinnest semblance of justification for the two years of overkill carnage; that destroyed nearly every building in Gaza. The fact civilian Palestinians are snatched off the streets in Gaza the West Bank and held without trial in awful conditions, is never mentioned.

Minister for the Middle East and alleged MI6, Hamish Falconer, says interested parties will meet to discuss funding to rebuild Gaza. But since they are so insistent Russia must pay reparations to Ukraine, going as far as seizing sovereign wealth in an unprecedented and risky step to ensure that. Why does Israel have no financial obligation to pay for the rebuilding of Gaza? The privileged ‘chosen people’ indeed.

          • Stevie Boy

Does anyone actually believe that if hamas had taken NO hostages on 7th Oct that Israel would have acted substantially differently ? I’m yet to be convinced.

          • Goose

            Stevie Boy

            Maybe not.

But it would’ve made the continuous murderous bombing of civilians in Gaza harder to justify. Mainly for the US, where Zionists exert a distorted, outsized media & political influence due to a lack of any impartiality rules on cable TV e.g. Fox News.
US TV news made endless reference to the hostages, and found new ways of hyping the psychodrama for their families from their detention, to garner US public sympathy for Israel’s genocide. It was only when the starvation and devastation – wholesale destruction of Gaza – became too much to hide, did this US TV’s hostage propaganda shield, finally break and lose its effectiveness. Without the hostages, the apologists in the US and apologist trolls online, would have had no argument against the disproportionate suffering.

          • Republicofscotland

            Goose.

Yip – it was congratulations all round at the Knesset’s version of the Oscars – with many of the plaudits for best actor going to Trump, and best supporting actor going to Netanyahu, it was disgusting to listen to – as war criminal after war criminal was lauded – and some like Trump who’s hands are dripping with Palestinian children’s blood – received several standing ovations.

          • Goose

Release the hostages, became the default response to criticism of the ongoing military campaign. They became a the focus used for propaganda in pro-Israel media, and “bringing them home” replete with yellow ribbon, a perverted excuse for the bombing.

Thus the argument is merely that they prolonged the bombing campaign. I honestly don’t think without them, Israel could have withstood international criticism and justified their aimless, murderous campaign beyond say six months, tops.

            RoS

Indeed. And Trump talked about a bright future for only Israel. Trump’s atrocious, I think Jared Kushner is the one calling the shots, and thus nothing good will come out of this deal for Palestinians.

          • Republicofscotland

            Goose @15.49.

Yeah Trump prattled on for ages lauding his friend Bibi, and praising Israel at every turn – he even mentioned his daughters conversion to Judaism – and how wonderful it has been, and that Kushner, (his son-in-law) is a wonderful guy – it was gut wrenching to listen that sick bucket shit – knowing that he (Trump) and his so called buddy (Bibi) were, and probably still will – continue committing genocide in Gaza – the Zionists in the Knesset couldn’t get enough of it – and lapped it all up and milked it for every round of applause they could muster.

            These people are truly evil.

          • Re-lapsed Agnostic

The biggest mistake Hamas & co. made, Goose, was invading Israel with only circa 4000 armed fighters, rather than with 400,000 armed fighters* – the elite ones with specific instructions to secure Israeli military sites, particularly the small arms depots for Israeli reservists. That way Israel would very likely have been no more.

            * For anyone asking how they could have obtained hundreds of thousands of guns, here’s one way:

            https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FGC-9

          • Stevie Boy

If hamas had invaded in force, threatening the existence of Israel then the USA would have stepped in. That is why Israel can never be curbed, because the Jewish lobby controls the USA government.

          • Re-lapsed Agnostic

Thanks for your reply Stevie. It probably would have been all over within a week (apart from a few pockets of Israeli resistance). In contrast, the US would take weeks to organise bombing missions. But what would they bomb? They’d have no idea where the Hamas leaders were. In the meantime, they’d face an ultimatum from Hamas: Ship seven million Jews to the US (or Europe) within 3 months, or we start Holocaust 2.0 and give Israeli nukes to Iran.

    • Jack

I just read that both Clinton and Biden hailed Trump’s “peace” plan, with an opposition like that, who need political enemies, how dumb are the DNC party?

I naively thought that a second Trump presidency would ignite the DNC against Trump, instead they have pretty much abdicated their role as an opposition party. They are silent on the damaging tariffs, they are silent on the fascist like ICE thugs kidnapping and ripping families apart right in the streets, they are silent on the Genocide, they want Trump to escalate things with Russia etc. A truly useless party.

      • Stevie Boy

DNC is just the other cheek of the uni party arse. Trump is doing the things they desired but never dared do.
Same in the UK, the screws of oppression are never reversed.

  • Harry Law

The ‘west’ treats Israel like a religion, I am reminded of Liverpool Manager Bill Shankly when asked if the forthcoming match was a matter of life or death, he replied ‘Oh, its more important than that’.
Here is Nancy Polosi at the Israel America Council’s National Conference a few years ago.
Nancy Pelosi:If capital crumbles to the ground, one thing tha’ll remain is our commitment to Israel. I am comforted by the fact that Ukrainian flags adorned her podium and they were swooning over Zelenski also a few years ago.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53x_zrkJwDs

    • Brian Red

Great quote from Nancy Pelosi. No flies on her! No wonder she’s stuck around so long. It’s as if there’s a one-sentence constitution that’s an even higher law than what’s actually called the constitution.

She goes even further than the former sayan Nicolas Sarkozy, who said the whole human species owes a debt to one particular small cultural group:

      https://www.worldjewishcongress.org/en/news/sarkozy-rejects-israel-boycott-as-unacceptable-laments-holocaust-education-in-french-schools-6-2-2015

      • azymax

@Brian Red 15:08 – note that it hasn’t helped him much though: CRIF didn’t keep him out of the jug (again) :). We don’t hear so much about Carla these days …

    • Jack

      Harry Law

Right, it is like a religion, no matter what israel do – israel will have the support by the West. Absurdly, the further into the genocide, the less criticism from the West.

The West have turned full circle, from initially claiming ‘Israel only target Hamas’ to something like, ‘well you know genocide…is ok sometimes’
The western world do not have an anti-semitism problem, the West suffer from a philo-semitism problem, the western elite treat israel like it is some kind of baby.

    • azymax

… or Germany & Mutti Merkel’s Staatsraeson (the connotation a little unfair to Bill Shankly !); e.g. dscvry.com/hypocrisy.htm

  • Stevie Boy

Now that all the ‘hostages’ have been released, there is no more justification, if there ever was, for UK flights over Gaza. Can we expect their termination ?

  • Brian Red

Linguistic study of this headline is instructive. It’s from Sky:

“Hamas hands over Israeli hostages as Palestinian prisoners also released under Gaza ceasefire deal”

    https://news.sky.com/story/israel-says-first-seven-hostages-handed-to-red-cross-13448949

It’s not just “hostages” and “prisoners” now, which is standard MSM usage in English-speaking Zionism-sniffer countries. It’s the verbs too. Hamas “hands over” (Germanic), as if a dog were lifting its leg up a tree, or as if person of “low socioeconomic status” were being described chucking a bottle against a wall. Meanwhile the settler regime “releases” (from Latin), as if a “medical practitioner” were engaged in his “profession”, or as if a public schoolboy were throwing a discus at a sporting event.

It’s all about legitimacy. It’s unfortunate that Hamas didn’t have the means to release some of the settler prisoners to Poland or Australia or wherever they hold citizenship or citizenship rights. The anti-Zionist movement must never lose sight of the need to delegitimise the terrorist settler entity.

  • JohnnyOh45

As much as one disavows the politics of Julian Yaxley-al-Sharaa AKA Tommy al-Julani, his being questioned under Section 7 of the Terrorism Act for driving a Bentley car and possessing £1660 in cash is not itself grounds for suspicion of terrorism is it ? The fact that he did not disclose the pin to his electronic devices has led to his prosecution and will be a rallying point for the far right and an opportunity for those in power to seek to split the opposition currently ranging across the political spectrum against this draconian and pernicious piece of legislation.

    • Goose

It was stated on the news that Elon Musk is paying his legal fees. Regardless of what you think about the wisdom of Musk’s assistance, I do think Musk is right in challenging Starmer, and in claiming that the UK is attempting to criminalise the immaterial : opinion and thought — Thoughtcrime? I just wish Musk would find a better champion of free speech, than Mr Robinson.

    • Pears Morgaine

” driving a Bentley car and possessing £1660 in cash is not itself grounds for suspicion of terrorism ”

Indeed not. Police still need reasonable grounds for suspicion, Robinson/Yaxley-Lennon being in possession of an expensive car that wasn’t his and a quantity of cash might be suspicious but where’s the evidence of terrorism? As with the detention of Craig and others the police are just misusing this legislation to bully and intimidate.

    • azymax

TA2k,s7 certainly IS a pernicious piece of legislation, but Yaxley-Lennon is going to lose this, since the cops do not need any grounds for suspicion to instigate an obligatory grilling at the border and he is an actively anti-social gob-shite with form, which latter supplies a pretext for questioning being reasonable.

Theoretically, the statutory powers cannot be wielded recklessly: Ernest Moret in 2023, au contraire, was a publisher travelling on business and gained a grovelling apology for his detention & questioning – reportedly at the behest of the flics outre-manche (because they don’t have this sort of legislation) – on the grounds of infraction of freedom of expression. It’s assumed that he could not plausibly have been a subject of interest to the UK police for his publishing activities alone.

Useful to note that Musk is happy to stump up for this sort of agro though …

  • Luis Cunha da Silva

The Americans have “FARA” – the Foreign Agents Registration Act.

Does the UK have similar legislation?

Or, for that matter, legislation under which any NGO or “Foundation” – whatever these bodies call themselves – has to make public the identities of its financial supporters?

    • Goose

      LCdS

On July 1, 2025, the United Kingdom’s new Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS) scheme came in. Although, I’ll believe it’s being implemented with impartiality when MPs directly funded by Israel are questioned: https://www.declassifieduk.org/israel-lobby-funded-a-quarter-of-british-mps/

There is currently a big media brouhaha here, over a parliamentary aide and his friend allegedly passing information to China. But in the Telegraph’s own report, they said the information divulged could’ve been gleaned via a simple google search.
Contrast this uproar, with the silence about an MP who, according to a WikiLeaks diplomatic cable published in 2010, was named as an informant for the US embassy in London and as someone [we need to] “strictly protect.” She goes about her business in the HoL without an iota of interest from anyone. So it’s likely to be enforced very selectively.

        • Bramble

And demonize China. The more democracy fails at home, the more the Empire’s bureaucrats try to persuade us someone else is responsible.

      • Luis Cunha da Silva

Many thanks, Goose (and to the others who responded).

You invite us to contrast with this US Embassy informant, but I think it’s already enough to contrast the treatment of the LFI (and the CFI for that matter) with that of the two Parliamentary aids. Very illuminating.

Re the LFI, are you aware of any calls made to the UK authorities to apply the FIRS to that organization, and if so, what was the response of the UK authorities.

Is the LFI perhaps exempt from the application of the FIRS because it is made up of MPs?

    • JohnnyOh45

      LCdS
I am also not sure,as per Goose’s point below, whether not registering would automatically lead to questioning under the Terrorism Act ?

    • Stevie Boy

“The Americans have “FARA” – the Foreign Agents Registration Act.” Of which Israel is exempt. Go figure what FARA is really about.

  • John Monro

Anyone who genuinely believes that any sort of normalisation of relationships between the State of Israel and the Palestinian people is about to occur, or even could occur, is delusional. This is a temporary abeyance of hostilities which has happened at a convenient time of exhaustion for both parties, who see a temporary advantage in the process, and which will not last, as Israel still is determined to take over the whole of Greater Israel, which will involve taking over the West Bank, Gaza and southern Lebanon and souther Syria in addition, the present populations’ lives being made intolerable enough to make them move on. . Netanyahu may or may not be in power to see this through, but I don’t underestimate his arch cunning and ruthlessness, and at the age of 75 he still has some years ahead of him. Israel isn’t a democracy, it is a war state, a state always under threat which can only survive in constant war, as long as it is backed by the US, and of course, as Israel is the US’s and the West’s battleship, barracks and landing strip in the Middle East, that support will never waver. I think the likelihood of a Palestinian state anywhere in or near Israel’s borders must approximate to Zero, If the world can stand idly by when the Palestinians have been decimated and their homes, culture and living destroyed so emphatically, if the world could stand aside 70 plus years of the human misery of Israel’s terrorist state, we’ll stand aside for whatever Israel and the US plan for the future. We have been impotent in the past, and we’ll remain impotent in the future, we’ll have rather more serious problems on our own doorsteps to concern us. The only thing that will change this future is global warming, which will bring unsurvivable conditions to Israelis and Palestinians alike within the course of this century and there’ll be no country worth actually fighting over. .

    • Stevie Boy

It was notable IMO that the blessings passed down by the omnipotent orange one in Egypt to his vassals was not attended by genocider in chief his Bibiness. An indication that Israel is not actually signing up to the ‘peace’ process.
It’s obvious that peace with Israel is about as likely as anthropogenic global warming happening any time soon.

Well – the Caravan of Concern ( usually known as the MSM) have moved their Camels into Israel and the Ukranian ‘ concerns’ no longer appear to be getting a look in.

Even Rachel Reeves is above Ukraine in the News outlets and the mysteriously stupid minds of the politicians.

    Why?

Because they as usual are following their Commander In Chief around like a dog with its master.

This is a Trump Fest and he is lapping up the adulation.

Netanyahu is finished in my opinion and the question for Trump is what to do with him

On Trump’s Airforce One spiel to the media he says words such as:

He ” did ” a great job and he ” was” a great Israeli President.

Trump – Speak pointing to Netanyahu’s removal.

The MSM missed it but, Trump did not shake hands with Netanyahu at the steps of the plane.

Note carefully though how chummy he was with President Hertzog.

Hertzog may be assisting in the removal of Netanyahu – we shall see.

He can either go quietly into retirement in the USA or he will have a last desperate fling attacking Iran (this time without US permission) and end up in jail or in a nice house in Florida and an apartment in New York.

The same incidentally with president Zelensky now that outright US support has nearly dried up and he is left with a very poor substitute – the EU and UK. – leaders who couldn’t defend themselves – never mind Ukraine.

I am pleased that the Gazans are getting a reprieve temporarily and actions speak louder than words so, if the water/medical supplies and food come into Gaza via 600 Trucks a day that will be a small example of progress.

This needs to be tempered with the people who are involved in this Ceasefire ( it is not peace Plan- it is a ceasefire) and Ceasefire’s are usually broken.

    I remain cynical.

This is a Trump Fest not for the Israelis and not for the Palestinians.

It is to quell the dissent in a non country called Magaland.

Understand that and unlike the credulous MSM you are very close to the reason why Trump’s doing this.

Oh and of course for Nobel peace prize that Bomber O’Bama and Kissinger won in their ‘peaceful ‘ times.

And the latest recipient loves her country so much that she is begging the US to invade Venezuela and to take it over and its people’s assets.

Not exactly Kissinger but these prizes don’t come easy do they?

Just when we thought Tory circus clown – Boris Bellend de Piffle Johnson – couldn’t be any more loathsome, he manages to prove that conclusion inaccurate https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uxg20MBePSs

Is there anything these vampiric ghouls won’t countenance in order to further enrich themselves? Any limit on the quantity of death & destruction they would see inflicted on others – people who have done nothing nor pose any threat to themselves ( ie the Johnsons ) or their country: as if the Johnsons ever give a solitary f**k, really, about ” their ” country: they are Beasts of No Nation when it comes to self-interest. And given their mercenary attitude to their- supposed- own country, imagine how little they care about the fate of countries they meddle in, eg Ukraine. Trump is exactly the same.

Sure, these scum will wrap themselves in, eg the Stars & Stripes and Union Jacks when necessary, but, in reality, they don’t give a damn about ANYTHING other than gorging themselves on as much material riches their avaricious paws can grab – most often the riches of other people/countries and irrespective of the damage done to those people/countries in the process.

I imagine this latest instance of Johnson’s venality and utter lack of humanity will go unremarked, certainly unpunished, and the blood of incalculable Ukrainian AND Russian humans he enabled to be spilt ( white ) washed from his hands. Just like it will from the hands of Von der Leyen, Rutte, Starmer, Macron and all the other U.S & EU toy soldiers who instigated, funded, armed and psychotically cheered-on this wholly unnecessary/avoidable bloodbath – from the sidelines, of course, and as usual.

        Theatralic blood soaked peace porn
        bombs drop on Lebanon.

This is a continuous s…show and everyone has a full view of it. How much longer can the Zionist take the stink they are creating for their population.
Time to restitute settlers out of the occupied areas back gto the country they came from, no compensation needed for stolen assets, land and murdered Palestinians,
Time for western Governments to swear allegiance to the ICJ and recognise that a state without rights to self determination and right to self defence, control over their assets and security is lacking what we expect as normal.

      • Robert Hughes

Of course he did , and of course that bastion of impeccable journalism – the Guardian ( of NeoLibCon/Zionist * values * ) reported it. I’m long passed giving a **** what people who quickly reach for the ” conspiracy theory ” , er…….theory choose to believe or not.

I just think it’s funny that anyone still reads never mind takes seriously that joke of a ” left wing ” ( ahahahaha ) rag . Was their despicable treatment of Julian Assange not enough evidence of it’s corruption?

      • Bayard

“The video makes a good conspiracy story, but Zelensky rejected the idea of being got at by Johnson:”

What leads you to suppose that Zelensky never lies? Do you believe everything every politician says?

        • Robert Hughes

Indeed, B. Quite amazing that people are unable to see through the guy who- apart from all the rest of his deceptions- won the election that brought him to power on a platform of ” constructive engagement ” with Russia, only to abandon that policy about 5mins into his tenure.

I wonder if somewhere down the line, when it all comes out just how vast an amount he and his criminal gang/cronies have siphoned-off from the $£EBillions poured into that country ( once described by……* checks notes *,,,,,,aw aye, that’s right, the Guardian, as the most corrupt in Europe ) people like yr man MJ will still be wittering about ” conspiracy theories “. Probably he and the rest of zealous Zellyites will

“He is the Churchill of Ukraine.”

Why, because he will be slung out of office as soon as the war is over?

    • Stevie Boy

Anyone who has a problem with murdering babies is obviously antisemitic. The chosen ones are just creating a heaven on earth, why can’t people see this and stop victimising gods chosen ones.

  • MikeyDee

I’m not quite convinced that this “peace” is as illusionary as most comentators to Craig’s thoughtful piece assume. The Israeli’s destructive massacre has polarised world opinion further away from USA leadership, and the partial withdrawal of Israeli troops is a response to Trump’s recognition of this, and a tacit acknowledgement of the right of palestinians to self determination. No doubt this will be severely tested as I agree with the analysis that that having won the ‘war’ Israeli ‘settlements’ will continue unabated until stopped by international border control. But the ceasefire guarantors include France backed by new support from the shifted Anglo block, and even Trump is begining to see that with the realignment of China, Russia and India, America can’t go it alone. Looking ahead, to my simple mind, the best way forward would be for Christian leadership to make a genuine attempt to resolve its differences with Islam, thus eliminating the false enmities fueled by militant extremists.and those profiting from them.

      • Jack

I do not understand what Hamas thought they could possibly get from this deal: releasing all the israeli captives and disbanding themselves? I sense Hamas will face a tragic fate because israel will just carry on and now they certainly have free hands.

        • Stevie Boy

They gain the moral ground. Not that that will save lives.
The west cannot now claim their actions are related to hostages.

        • Bayard

As Stevie Boy says, they will gain the moral high ground. As for disarming, they will “disarm” just as Israel will “cease fire”. The hostages haven’t done them any good. I suppose they didn’t realise that, to Israel, a hostage is just as valuable dead as alive. In fact, returning them is a pretty smart move.

          • Stevie Boy

Unfortunately, some of the dead hostages may not be able to be returned as they would have been bombed into smithereens by the IDF. Israel knows this and will use this as one of the pretexts to resume the genocide, blaming Hamas non-compliance of the Trump 20 commandments.

The beginning of the Zionist owned media platforms erasing Zionist war crimes in Gaza.

“Instagram has removed the verified account of Gaza slain journalist Saleh al-Jafarawi, who had 4.5 million followers. Archived snapshots of his page on the Wayback Machine, the largest public internet archive, also appear to have been wiped or disabled, raising concerns about digital erasure of Palestinian documentation. Al-Jafarawi, known for his frontline reporting on the Gaza genocide, had previously faced repeated censorship. He was killed yesterday by an armed group collaborating with Israel. Observers warn that these developments may signal “a new phase in efforts to erase evidence of Israeli war crimes from the internet.””
