A waste facility in Wiltshire, is asking for permission to used their cleaned, waste Carbon dioxide, to help grow high valve crops, like avocado, in sealed greenhouses, on site.
The greenhouses will be slightly mobile, they will be placed over the concrete capped waste dump, extracted Methane will make electricity to power the equipment, some electricity will be moved to the National Grid.
The produce will grow more prolifically because of the heat from waste break-down and also because CO2 will be introduced into the sealed glasshouses. The glass housed can be shifted to allow the removal of left over waste and the introduction of fresh waste.
Overall, there will be very much less waste that enters long term landfill.
