Here are Tim Norman, Patrick Henningsen and myself discussing the Skripal charade, at the Beautiful Days Festival near Exeter. At the start 90% of the audience said they believed the official narrative. At the end 80% had changed their mind.
I am particularly proud of this because we were comparatively close to Salisbury and it was mostly an apolitical audience of interested locals.
I look like I had been sleeping under a hedge for four days. Well, I more or less had. It was a music festival. In a sense convincing so many people, when I could not have looked less like an authority figure, is still more satisfying.
Tim Norman has a much longer version of his presentation and we shall try to do this together again soon, hopefully actually in Salisbury. Patrick Henningsen is a journalist of great integrity: he has been consistently interested and engaged in this story.
I had plans to make a documentary which were put aside during covid. I might try to run a conditional crowdfunder in a little while, where the money is withheld unless enough is collected to deliver the project.
Attention of course moves on, but the Salisbury lie still features in Starmer’s Russophobic and militaristic rhetoric, and in a sense this story is more important than ever.

Tank Regiment.
( or as I like to think of it school for posh boy ‘James Bonds’ with licences to kill – they handed their useless challenger tanks to the ukropians to be fried in… initially they supplied ‘14 of 88’ – Nazi numerology… yup WE are the bad guys & Nazis )
CM brought it up at the festival talk, but there is one ‘actor’ he missed out, in the pantomime in Salisbury.
Hamish de Bretton-Gordon.
I long ago smelled a rat when he appeared with the White Helmets ‘formed’ by his equally spooky Brit military (now dead from mysterious naked fall from his Turkish house.. while his equally spooky wife was ‘asleep inside’ ) friend and colleague – Le Mesurier.
Funny old Norman names eh?
He was just a major of a tank regiment in 1998.

He certainly had access to plenty of chems from Syria for making safe aboard a ship! U.S. cargo ship, the MV Cape Ray,

He was upto to his eye balls in the Syria chemical weapons hoaxes.
And he was right in the middle of the multi coloured tele-tubbies that sprang out in the days after the Skripals were medicated and he ‘Novichok’ mysteriously appeared wherever they went!
‘Hamish de Bretton-Gordon is Managing Director CBRN at Avon Protection, the recognized global market leader in respiratory protection system technology specializing primarily in Military, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and Industrial. He is also a director of the NGO ‘Doctors Under Fire’.’

He is the face of British chemical warfare and now a ‘journalist’ for the Torygraph I think.
Jeez how many cover stories do our spooky boys own posh boys need?
Our British bovver boys playing their never ending Great Games at taking the World Island and dismantling Russia for their forever owners and masters the ZioFacist defeated khazar empire from a millenia ago.
Defeated by the Russians.
That is the source of all European Russophobia for Millenia and never ending attempts to launch wars against it.
The dots of history exist and explain just wtf our elite crown deepstate hoodlums are doing. And why.
Finally today we are seeing the antidote and final end of their mischief.
The Collective Waste is at an end.
It is being extolled in the Tianjin Declaration as the SCO countries outline new security and development priorities.
The mulitipolar world order is born
The unipolar AngloEuropean ziofascist is at the end of their Great Game (s).
Maybe the Skripals will re-emerge, exchanged for some general or spy from the defeated battlefields. That’s the spy world I suppose.
“– they handed their useless challenger tanks to the ukropians to be fried in…”
“Jacket Man” (H deB G) went quiet for quite a long time after that, having prophesied that “Putin’s conscripts” would be fleeing in terror from the mighty Challengers.
The pretentiously named HdBG writes in the Telegraph. Craig rightly called Hamish a ‘military buffoon’ after dBG claimed Putin may drop bombs full of novichok. Like Con Coughlin, another Telegraph journo, dBG’s pieces are just vacuous polemics, with near zero new or interesting information. The Telegraph does have genuinely knowledgeable defence columnists : David Axe and Lewis Page both produce detailed pieces that are far more interesting and informative, albeit with a jingoistic slant.
David Axe who writes for Bloomberg? His main goal is to prove that Ukraine is winning, despite all the bad things happening. Even if Putin achieves something at the front, this always costs him terrible losses.
what about the policeman, Nick Baily, that was poisoned? Supposedly after touching the Skripal’s doorknob? Afterwards his own family’s belongings were destroyed because of potential contamination we are told. Assuming the false flag theory is correct, is the implication that the spooks allowed this to happen (or worse) to lend plausibility to their narrative? Apparently Baily reached some kind of settlement with Wiltshire police after suing them, not sure on what grounds. He and other officers attending Skripal’s home were wearing protective clothing.
So if I understand correctly, he touches the door handle, “forces entry” and then, some time later collapses?
But that doesn’t explain why police were assigned to stand guard with no protective clothing? And note from the picture in the link, said door has no cover over the door handle, and there’s no sign forced entry (see link). The tarpaulin cover went up after two weeks, iirc. Even if we assume they didn’t know the source of the injurious substance, if Bailey wore protective clothing, surely nobody should have been posted to guard said door without protective gear?
https://english.aawsat.com/home/article/1229081/guinea-pigs-cat-victims-spy-poisoning-uk
If you look closely at the door, it can’t be bashed or kicked in, because of the design : the external part overlaps the frame.
From that report : The British government has said that two guinea pigs and a cat were victims of the Salisbury poisoning – the report is from two days later, 6 March 2018.
PD test subjects perhaps? The mystery deepened, when newspapers reported they’d starved and had to be destroyed. If they were lab test subjects? The exposure levels would’ve been too high to present as evidence, which could explain the whole Schrödinger’s cat farcical reporting on the fate of their pets.
Samples were sent to the OPCW remember, so this stuff had to exist in some form, regardless of its true origin i.e. whether Russian, US or UK lab produced. Notice how Theresa May kept repeating, of a type known to have been produced in Russia. Plausible deniability built in, should this whole thing go t*ts up.
Report is actually dated 6th April, not 6th March, my bad.
The press reporting on the fate of the pets was peculiar. Guinea pigs, rabbits , dogs and cats have historically been used as lab test subjects.
thanks for digging this out. It yields “more heat than light though”, I’m afraid…
If this was a false flag, it’s unlikely the novichok (the sample of which the OPCW received) was created at Porton Down, as too many staff would know about it to keep it secret. The idea it was US lab produced and brought in via a diplomatic bag seems more likely. Don’t forget this was 2018, at the height of the Russiagate hysteria that was gripping the US.
According to the Inquiry, Nick Bailey didn’t force entry into Sergei’s home, Goose*. He used a key which he thinks he obtained from APS Tracey Holloway, although he isn’t sure. I think the issue here is that Wiltshire Police CID aren’t exactly the sharpest tools in the shed. As an example, Bailey and his colleague DC Dawn [surname-I’ve-forgotten-and-can’t-be-arsed-checking-though-it’s-definitely-not-Sturgess] spent 15 minutes looking for Sergei’s maroon BMW in the small multi-storey next to Sainsbury’s and didn’t find it – something that would have taken the average 9-year-old five minutes to do.
It appears to be a similar situation with their Uniform section. Shortly after the Skripals were found, they sent an officer to Sergei’s house with instructions to ring the doorbell to see if anyone was in, which he did but got no answer. Sergei’s next-door neighbour then appeared and gave him a key to the door. He should have used this to open it and check whether there was anyone in a similar condition to the Skripals in there, which he’d have been allowed to do without a warrant under Section 17 of the PACE Act. However, APS Holloway told him not to do this and instead just remain in his panda car on the driveway for 5 hours. From his point of view this was a stroke of luck, as it prevented him from being contaminated by the door handle and possibly dying.
For some reason, Bailey seemed to become paranoid about potential contact poisoning at Sergei’s house when CID discovered via a Google search that Sergei was a former Russian spy, which probably accounts for CID’s decision to collect the PPE before entering his property. That strange paranoia may have saved his life and those of DI Ben Mant and the other officer. Uniform on the other hand seemed not to care about protecting their officers, and there appeared to be little interaction between them and CID. However, by the time uniformed officers actually touched the handle, there may not have been sufficient Novichok left oh the door handle to cause any symptoms.
* Sorry for calling you ‘Brian’ in an earlier reply. You’ve both got very similar avatars.
Nick,
My view is it is likely the originally intended story was that the Skripals were attacked shortly before they collapsed on the bench, which story fell apart when Yulia blew the gaff when her communication appeared in Russian media. My logic being that Bailey was first claimed to be the 1st responder and then become ill and the Skripals were on their death beds. That version would be consistent with an attack on the Skripals immediately before being found, Bailey becoming contaminated and the Skripals not being able to comment. A neat logic until Yulia got on the phone.
“Apparently Baily reached some kind of settlement with Wiltshire police after suing them, not sure on what grounds. ”
Probably his pay-off for appearing in that ridiculous farce without asking any awkward questions.
Bailey’s role was liason for the Skripals, as I remember, he wasn’t just an innocent plod.
In my opinion the Skripals will never appear again, they could reveal too many skeletons the UK establishment wish to remain hidden. the Skripals were kept incommunicado for a long time and were refused advice from independent layers of their choice or even to see Russian consular representatives in breach of UK/Russian agreements. The UK government told the Embassy they would not fulfill Russian requests for legal assistance in the Skripals poisoning case.
« After numerous reminders, on 25 September, the Embassy received a reply from the Home Office informing us of a refusal to fulfill the requests for legal assistance made by the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation on 29 March and 17 April. The requests were made within the framework of the investigation of the criminal case opened in Russia following the attempted murder of Sergei and Yulia Skripal. »
« In practice, this means that the UK is refusing to provide the Russian investigation with any information or evidence gathered by British Police when working on the Salisbury incident. This position has now been officially approved at the highest level and acquired a legal form. We would like to remind that earlier the British authorities had announced that they did not intend to pursue extradition of the “suspects” and made it clear that they were not interested in submitting their own requests for legal assistance, which could be provided by means of interrogation of certain persons, provision of access to documents, etc.
Such position of the British authorities does not allow to bring the investigation to its logical end in either the Russian or the British legal framework.
Thus, the British side has confirmed that from the very beginning the aims of its campaign around the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal lay exclusively in the field of politics and propaganda. It has nothing to do with aspiration to establish the truth and bring those responsible to justice. The fact that the decision to refuse the legal assistance has been made at the highest level is jet another evidence of political control being exercised over the investigation.
The refusal to fulfill the request of the Office of the Prosecutor General amounts to another violation by the UK of its obligations under international law. London continues to forcefully detain Sergei and Yulia Skripal, deny their rights, including the freedom of movement, speech, contacts with relatives, in violation of the universally recognized human rights standards. The Russian side has been denied a consular access to the Skripals in violation of the existing Consular conventions. The investigation has been classified in violation of the principle of freedom of press and the right of the public to get access to information. Meanwhile, the accusations, not supported by proof, are used to whip up anti-Russian hysteria in the UK and are aimed at isolating our country on the international arena. »

None of that contradicts the theory that the whole pack of lies was concocted on the fly to support Boris Johnson after he seized on what was supposed to be a low-key security operation for Russophobic political capital.
Theresa May was PM at the time. She was PM 13 July 2016 – 24 July 2019, the Skripal incident was on 4 March, 2018.
I don’t know how much day-to-day management PM’s exert over intel agencies. The security services obviously get tasked to support govt policies, but then it’s probably broadly left to the agencies themselves to decide how they do that. The agencies are very compartmentalized too(segmented) so the damage from insider threats can be contained, limited. This distanced relationship is useful for plausible deniability; if everything goes fubar; the politicians can feign their outrage, tut, tut at the intel chiefs, and say they didn’t authorise said operation, and they too are furious. This way they face no criminal liability either for decisions made. Theresa May’s statement to parliament, and I paraphrase because I can’t remember the precise wording, talking about a nerve agent, of a type known to have been produced in the Soviet Union, was clearly carefully worded, to avoid an absolute assertion of Russia’s guilt.
On Boris Johnson, he was tweeting his outrage over Russian journalist, Arkady Babchenko’s brutal slaying in Ukraine, denouncing the Russian govt. Surely, western security services could have told him it was a false flag aimed at framing Russia, before he made an idiot of himself.
“Surely, western security services could have told him it was a false flag aimed at framing Russia, before he made an idiot of himself.”
They would have to have known he was going to do it, which was the difficult bit. He wasn’t nicknamed “Shopping Trolley” for nothing.
I suspect that the Skripals would no more want to meet Russians again than Oleg Gordievsky. If Russians were allowed to meet them, it would be a chance to try to complete unfinished business.
I imagine that they would wish to disappear, get new names and live happily ever after, even in another country. If someone said to them, ‘But Russians and Western bloggers are complaining’, I wouldn’t blame them for responding, ‘Let them complain. It’s our lives, and we would like them to be secure.’ I imagine that their wishes would be respected.
re: Gaza Forum
Have posted an important link to a new study about German media bias showing how extensively German media rely on and favour Israeli sources (and US) in contrast to Palestinian and non-Western. Based on a selection of 5000 legacy media items
https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/forums/topic/breaking-news-gaza-only/page/35/#post-105052
p.s. the article is in English
Do you happen to know anyone who is old enough to remember what went on in the run up to WWII in Germany and can compare it to what is happening today?
Newspaper archives are a useful source of information. September 1st 1939 was last chance saloon day with Hitler making a number of demands to prevent a war that was almost inevitable – Britain declared war two days later. The Daily Record for September 1 is full of the evacuation of about 30 000 Scottish children mainly from Glasgow and Edinburgh which took place on that day in advance of the declaration of war. The children went to various safe places up and down Scotland – all highly organised as the paper describes. There was a suggestion that this was a pilot scheme for the evacuations that followed from London etc.
Meanwhile and closer to the current topic, the weekly Newcastle Chronicle ran an article on spying, commenting on the huge sums European governments including Britain were investing in it compared to a few years back. The article recounted several anecdotes of how British spies outwitted Russian spies going back to the Czarist era.
Even at this late stage Germany was seen to be only the enemy by default – the Daily Record editorial put the blame on the Treaty of Versailles and its humiliation of Germany making the rise of a Hitler inevitable.
The real enemy was as it is now “untrustworthy” Russia which also on this day 1939 confirmed its non – aggression pact with Germany. Fortunately for Britain, Hitler broke his side of the deal and in attacking Russia tried to eat more than he could chew.
And, of course let’s not forget that Stalin had tried to make agreements with the western allies but was rebuffed and hence was left with the only option of protecting ‘Russia’ by making a non-aggession pact with Germany. Unfortunately, WW2 only led to the defeat of the ‘obvious’ fascists, the less obvious ones still maintain power in the west to this day.
“WW2 only led to the defeat of the ‘obvious’ fascists”
Not if you were in Spain or Portugal, where fascism lasted from the 1930s until the 1970s. The fascists in Spain murdered more Spanish people than the German Nazis murdered Germans.
Respect to this guy who came out to fight the fascists and defend refugees in Tower Hamlets, but his sign saying “Fighting Fascists Since 1939” with a Union flag on it suggests that somebody should tell him (in a friendly way) about the Spanish Civil War (1936-39). And about the Battle of Cable Street (1936) for that matter. (Cable Street is in Tower Hamlets too!)
The only time the British government got ready to support the Republic was when they had warships near Barcelona in 1937 able to help the Republic do Franco’s job for him and crush the workers’ revolution. (Which the Republic managed to do all by itself, doubtless to Franco’s great pleasure. Curiously he never took Gibraltar.)
France and Britain allied with Germany in 1938, pretending that they believed that Hitler wanted Sudetenland, rather than what they knew, that he wanted a small war over Sudetenland to conquer Czechoslovakia, take the gold from the central bank and take over the Skoda arms complex. The only European army that could help the Czechs was the Red Army and only if the Polish fascists allowed the Red Army transit rights. Rather than do that the Poles took Teschen off the Czechs and the Anglo-French thought that they had pulled off a neat trick by keeping the peace, maintaining the Treaty of Versailles and keeping the Russians out of central Europe. (Would Russia have kept the 1921 border with so much of western Belarus and western Ukraine on the wrong side?) Were the French and British hypocrites for complaining about the nazi-Soviet Pact the following year? Obviously.
I’ve always thought that the timing of the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact and the declaration of war by Britain was no coincidence. So long as the British government thought that there was a chance of Germany attacking Russia, they held off declaring war.
“Curiously he never took Gibraltar.”
Probably a quid pro quo for the British government to remain on his side.
@Crispa –
There may be more to the child evacuation plan (and practice) than meets the eye. It has long been on my list for looking into. The Anderson Committee report (July 1938) is here:
https://dn720004.ca.archive.org/0/items/b32179078/b32179078.pdf
British authorities also killed 750,000 pet cats and dogs in 1939:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_pet_massacre
For some context: before WW2, the Evacuation Sub-Committee of the Imperial Defence Committee suggested expanding the police force so that a cordon could be put around London to stop people getting OUT.
Source: p.25 of this PhD thesis:
https://etheses.whiterose.ac.uk/id/eprint/14455/1/301006.pdf
So I wouldn’t buy into the line that the Tory government with Reginald Dorman-Smith as its agriculture minister cared so much about the children of the urban proletariat, I really wouldn’t. IIRC, I’m not the only person here who knows something about English Mistery:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reginald_Dorman-Smith
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_Mistery
English Mistery didn’t like the British Union of Fascists much, because they thought it was infra dig to take part in democratic politics.
On the whole, they really liked tuberculosis though. A key text is “Famine in England” by Gerard Wallop aka Viscount Lymington.
Would you trust these guys to look after working class children?
(For those who may be unaware, most child evacuees in Britain came from cities and were sent to rural areas.)
“…they thought it was infra dig to take part in democratic politics.”
No-one who takes part in British politics takes part in democratic politics. The only democratic thing that there ever has been was the Exit vote and look what happened when the ‘wrong’ side won, apoplexy nearly as explosive as Bliar’s reaction to Hamas winning the only democratic election ever held in the Middle East. I’m still laughing.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_pet_massacre
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Cat_and_Dog_Massacre
Apparently the pet massacre was caused by a misunderstanding.
Patrick Leigh Fermor set off from London in 1933 to walk to Constantinople. He wrote a wonderful book about his journey and the people he met. Scary fascists were most notable in Austria. It ends with his eager anticipation on approaching the border with Turkey. Later he joined the Resistance in Crete to fight off the Turks. He never talked about what happened to him in Turkey. A more recent book called the Hare with the Amber Eyes documents a wealthy Jewish family’s history and tells of the fates of some of the lovely people Paddy met in Romania, (gypsies, aristocrats, and peasants) and what befell them as armies swept across the lands that ended up behind the Iron Curtain. All trace was erased.
British Jews of Russian origin today, trying to trace extended family or records or places on old Russian maps, have similarly found no trace of the towns or villages their parents and grandparents fled. Not a trace of the buildings or graveyards remains.
Leigh-Fermor’s wonderful description of his walk across Germany in the winter of 1933-34, entitled ‘A time of gifts’, includes an encounter, I think in or near Stuttgart, with some real ‘Nazis’: wealthy businessmen on whose support Hitler relied.
He is perhaps best known for his daring capture, with Stanley Moss, of a senior German general during the German occupation of Crete, as described in Moss’s book ‘Ill met by moonlight’.
Bayard,
sorry, no Germans.
Those I know were all born 1940s.

Perhaps there are English translations by the works of such star reporters as Margret Boveri, who worked before and after WWII
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margret_Boveri
Of course most of what is accessable today is an elite view (whether left or right doesn´t matter). Which is a formative problem in fact. Since elites shape historic interpretations the majority of available literature is not representative of large part of Germans in the country.
Either the authors escaped and mostly lived decent or even luxurious lives abroad. Or they merely survived in KZs – or got killed – like French Marc Bloch who had joined Résistance.
About the diplomatic history you most likely will learn more by the forum here or non-German scholarship which too has been mentioned by “us” here many times, than German eye witness sources.
I assume there is older German scholarship either by Communists or former Nazi-affiliates that would containt some helpful bits.
But I have not the breadth of knowledge ther to immediately make accurate recommendations. Those source not by coincidence were not in the focuse of training post-war West German academics.
Sorry the typos in the end. Had a kitchen “emergency”.
It´s solved now.
I knew someone once who fought in WW1, but he passed on decades ago. Anyway, I see the following analogy.
20th century / 21st century:
Hitler invades Austria / Putin invades N Georgia
Hitler invades Czechoslovakia / Putin invades Crimea
Hitler invades Poland / Putin invades Ukraine
Allies declare WW2 / Allies help Ukraine but are divided as to how much
Churchill makes The ‘Finest Hour’ Speech / Zelensky speaks similarly about Ukraine
2-3 years later, final outcome as yet uncertain in both cases
Слава Україні!
You forgot to include an analogy for Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Your analogies are like a bad joiner’s work, they fit only where they touch.
1. Austria/Georgia – Austria didn’t invade Germany first.
2. Czechoslovakia/Crimea – There was no coup in favour of Germany in Czechoslovakia
4. “Allies” declare WWII – Britain declared war on Germany. (the Allies, were, FYI, Britain, the US (not in WWII until 1941) and, tell it not in Gath, Soviet Russia (also not in WWII until 1941).
@Bayard:
1. Georgia didn’t invade Russia either. It attacked Russian forces in South Ossetia which was de jure a Georgian province – occupied yet not annexed by Russia. Btw, Russia didn’t invade Georgia – it repelled Georgian forces while making sure to destabilise Georgia as much as possible (regular cross-border incursions, moving the border posts, etc.).
2. There was no pro-Russian coup in Crimea, either.
Both M.J.’s and your joinery work suck. There’s no analogy between these two events, but not because whatever you posted.
Axel Springer SE is one of the dominant media companies in Germany and its sketchy ties to British and US intelligence, go way to back to the war and after.
During the Third Reich, Axel Springer worked as a journalist for the newspaper Altonaer Nachrichten, spreading amongst other things antisemitic propaganda.
In 1946, the British military government gave him a press license for two light entertainment magazines. This was a huge deal, as the Brits regulated everything from sales areas, numbers printed, sales price and advertising rates. Under these circumstances, the ones with a licence were able to amass small fortunes, and in Springer’s case, set him on the trajectory to become West German press czar.
https://wikispooks.com/wiki/Axel_Springer_Publishing_House
Fair to say most of online news output in brands, such as Bild, Die Welt, Fakt, and the US political news site Politico, is unashamedly pro-Israel and anti-Palestinian. Die Welt is, subjectively speaking, appallingly biased; it’s as if there is a real nasty venom behind much of their reporting. The UK Mail and Telegraph’s unsympathetic coverage of Palestinians is the same.
Wikispooks piece also hightlights their:
Collaboration with the CIA
As historian Tim Weiner wrote, “Allen Dulles built up a propaganda apparatus that was ultimately able to rely on more than 50 press organs and radio stations, a dozen publishing houses and the personal offers of help from men like Axel Springer, the powerful press czar in West Germany.”
This shows the CIA censoring discussion of Springer from Victor Marchetti and John Marks’ CIA and the Cult of Intelligence’ – because the discussion exposed intelligence sources and methods.
In the early 1980s, an employee of Springer trained the CIA-financed Afghan Mujahedin fighters to film their attacks – and then get the films to Western outlets like CBS news.
Then they wonder why people don’t trust the corporate MSM. Why can’t our democracies rein-in spy agency overreach?
Talking of Russia and Britain, y’know how Vladimir Putin’s a KGB guy…. Well, SIS now seem to be in control of the British government’s economic policy (Minouche Shafik as the, ahem, “prime minister’s adviser”) as well as its foreign policy (Jonathan Powell as the national security adviser and de facto foreign secretary, unless anyone thinks David Lammy has grown a brain cell).
Makes you wonder whether they’re crapping themselves. Doesn’t SIS trust anybody?
Incidentally Shafik and her husband Raffael Jovine must need a passport bag almost as big as Ghislaine Maxwell’s, given all the citizenships they hold.
To make a short story shorter – if the Skripals didn’t go out until gone 1pm then the handle wallopers must have done the deed whilst they were in the house.
If they went out and came back then the handle wallopers must have done the deed whilst they were out.
If it was the latter then the alleged Novichok should have been all over the house – if they came back of course?
The policeman ( he was accompanied by two other officers I read ) .
I have not heard that the other two were harmed in any way.
The incidents with the pets was reported because ( alegedly) the house was sealed off for about two weeks.
Evidently ( if the policeman is telling the truth ) it wasn’t otherwise he and his mates would not have been allowed to go in.
By the way – it was said that one of the two cats shot out of the house once ‘ liberated ‘ and has not been seen since.
I have to keep repeating that to be a good liar a very good memory is required.
And of course – a lying media lying alongside you.
Nothing has changed at all in the current crises that befall the world.
Thank you Mark. I am glad to hear one of the cats escaped. The fate of the cats and guinea pigs was upsetting. Stuff on the door handles suggests stuff on the Skripals hands, supporting a possible parcel or package being opened during the time they were in the house after feeding the ducks, possibly.
Perhaps the most effective Russian spy during the Cold War was The Spy who came in from the Co-Op. She was a Communist Party member, open about her membership, who was employed as a secretary to translate information supplied from Russia. She dutifully traced and translated blueprints of British and American nuclear weapons plans which were also filed by her in the office, and took them home to her Physics teacher husband in Bexley Heath. Lovely people who cared about world peace. She was in her mid 80s when she returned home from shopping one day to find 2 policemen on the doorstep, who she greeted with the words ‘I’ve been expecting you’.
She was found guilty of espionage but her sharing of secrets between both sides had ensured the Russians were developing nuclear weapons at the same speed as the Brits and Americans and so this led to peace treaties which kept the peace for 50 years.
They then let her go home and nothing more was said.
Only a woman. Only a secretary. An honest and kind person married to a very good school teacher in suburbia.
It’d be an appalling world, if only one country: the US, had nuclear weapons. I fully understand the motivations of Manhattan Project atomic scientist, Klaus Fuchs – probably the most important spy – in trying to preserve the global balance of power.
Look how the US government use their power to bully and blackmail countries around the world, friend and foes alike. And how along with the all too frequent use of hard power, they use economic warfare; throwing sanctions, and even more outrageously, sovereignty infringing ‘secondary sanctions’ around like confetti. India, where many live in absolute poverty, being the latest on the receiving end. In many ways, China’s CCP have behaved more responsibly in recent times, their rise to being a great world power has, thus far, been achieved without wars and conquest.
We can see in the Middle East what an imbalance of such power looks like. Israel’s nuclear status gives it an excessively bold confidence way beyond its size, to threaten and bomb, any country in the region it so chooses, and with total impunity provided by western allies. Were KSA, Turkey, Egypt and yes, Iran, nuclear powers like Pakistan and India are, Israel simply wouldn’t be able to behave like it does. Of course, nuclear proliferation in that region would bring its own, different risks, but for years we were told by our politicians and defence chiefs, that M.A.D had kept the peace for us.
I wonder, is it the undeclared nukes that enable Israeli atrocities or is it the fact that the USA sits behind them daring anyone to respond to the madness ?
Even with nukes, without the USA Israel would be nothing.
“ Chinese leader Xi Jinping oversaw a massive military spectacle on Wednesday, delivering a stark warning that the world is facing a choice of war or peace, as his country marked 80 years since Japan’s defeat in World War II with thousands of troops and advanced weaponry parading through the heart of Beijing.
For Xi — who was flanked by Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean strongman Kim Jong Un during a short walk to the ceremonies — the moment was rich in symbolism, showcasing his willingness to more openly redefine the postwar U.S.-led global order.
“In the past, when faced with critical struggles between good and evil, light and darkness, progress and reaction, the Chinese people rallied together to defy the enemy,” Xi said in a speech before the parade. “They fought for the survival of the country, for the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, and for justice for the whole of humanity.
“Today, humanity again has to choose between peace or war, dialogue or confrontation, win-win cooperation or zero-sum,” he said.
The celebrations marked the first time that Xi had attended an event with both Kim and Putin — key foes of the United States and the two aggressors in Russia’s war against Ukraine — in a show of solidarity by the nuclear-armed neighbors and a nod to Beijing’s diplomatic sway with authoritarian regimes.
“Beijing is sending a message of defiance … that China is unafraid to stand by its friends and be their literal fellow traveler, even and perhaps especially when they are pariahs in the court of international public opinion,” said Wen-Ti Sung, a Taiwan-based fellow with the Atlantic Council’s Global China Hub.
Ahead of the parade’s start, Xi greeted Kim, Putin and other leaders, walking and chatting with the North Korean and Russian strongmen before taking a group photo with all of the dignitaries.
The parade was widely seen as an attempt by China’s ruling Communist Party to rally nationalist sentiment amid concerns over the economy and rising tensions with the United States.
In particular, the event seized on the memories of World War II and China’s role in beating back Japan’s rampage through East Asia — though the party’s role in that remains disputed, with Chinese Nationalist forces, which later fled to Taiwan, having played an outsized role in Tokyo’s defeat.
Xi nevertheless sought to portray Beijing as a leading pillar of the international community.
“History cautions us that humanity rises and falls together. Only when all countries and nations treat each other as equals, coexisting peace and support each other, can we uphold common security, eradicate the root cause of war and prevent the recurrence of historical tragedies,” Xi said in his speech.”

“Russia is believed to have jammed the satellite signal of a plane carrying the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, over Bulgaria, reportedly forcing it to circle the airport for an hour.”
How did the Russians do that in Bulgaria? More bullshit?
Maybe they did it through pop music. (This is a joke.) Russian-language pop music is quite big in Bulgaria. Not everywhere has been US soft-powered fully.
Interestingly the Russian debt ratio is about 20%, whereas the USA’s is about 125%.
It is truly awful psychological warfare to keep on moaning that your opponents are doing stuff to you that’s unexpected, out of the blue, and it’s causing you a lot of inconvenience. You might as well carry a big sign saying “We’ve got no control over our own security, and stuff keeps happening that we didn’t see coming.”
Whether your opponent actually is doing this is not the point.
Hasn’t she heard the training story about the Russian peasant, the bird, and the cowpat? When you’re in the poop, keep your mouth shut.
Ursula Von Der Leyen carries herself as if she’s a latter-day Metternich or Stroganov, but it seems to me that the EU’s “sphere of influence” requires a microscope to detect.

Re EU “sphere of influence”, a shrinkage of the Russian, US and Chinese spheres to EU size would be welcome.

It is easy to jam GPS signals. As they come from satellites in high earth orbit the signals are very weak.
All the Russkiys would have needed was a guy (probably a local criminal) equipped with a jammer.
And jammers are not difficult to acquire.
Shipping in the Red Sea is occasionally targeted by GPS jammers which disables ship navigation.
JK redux
I know that silly prat Ben Nimmo accused people simply on the basis of them using Cui Bono?
But often, Cui Bono? is the legitimate question to ask. Who benefits from this silly GPS tampering story and the headlines it generates across Europe?
Absolute rubbish. You don’t understand GPS and you don’t understand basic physics. I thought you called yourself a mathematician ?
Why do you continually spout this rubbish, john ?

Map of GPS jamming:-
https://gpsjam.org/
Russia has used GPS jamming against Ukrainian drones (and vice versa). The transmitter didn’t have to be on the ground it could’ve been carried by another aircraft or drone. I’d suggest a ship in the Black Sea but Ukraine sank them all.
The transponder on the actual flight was broadcasting the efficacy of navigation systems aboard.
The map shows there was very little (<2% chance) of jamming there on the day.
Moscow Times suggests "According to the Ukrainian Navy, Russia has lost more than a third of its warships in the Black Sea. British intelligence estimates that about 25% of the fleet has been destroyed or damaged. "

What part of my post is not correct? In your opinion.
Ships have other navigation methods as well as GPS.
“Shipping in the Red Sea is occasionally targeted by GPS jammers which disables ship navigation.”
If anyone needs GPS to navigate the Red Sea, they don’t know what navigation is.
There are a lot of shoals in the Red Sea, which require delicate navigation.
Which have been successfully navigated past for thousands of years before GPS was invented.
It is impossible to jam the signal selectively for one particular aircraft, unless the jammer flies next to it. There were multiple aircraft in the air nearby and none of them had any problems.
Moreover, if the Russians had such technical anilities, they’d used them already to jam military transports bringing arms for Ukraine into Poland.
Finally, from Putin’s perspective, Ursula is a useful idiot. She destroys EU from within and pushes China and India toward Russia with all her powers.
““Russia is believed to have jammed the satellite signal of a plane carrying the European Commission president, Ursula von der Leyen, over Bulgaria, reportedly forcing it to circle the airport for an hour.”
GPS is a navigation aid. If you are circling the airport, you bloody know where you are and don’t need GPS.
Flightradar24, the service for tracking flights.
https://x.com/flightradar24/status/1962565122326700178
We are seeing media reports of GPS interference affecting the plane carrying Ursula von der Leyen to Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Some reports claim that the aircraft was in a holding pattern for 1 hour.
This is what we can deduce from our data.
* The flight was scheduled to take 1 hour and 48 minutes. It took 1 hour and 57 minutes.
* The aircraft’s transponder reported good GPS signal quality from take-off to landing.
https://x.com/flightradar24/status/1962573785036464583
The transponder signal transmitted by the aircraft contains a NIC value.
The NIC value encodes the quality and consistency of navigational data received by the aircraft.
Flightradar24 is using these NIC values to create the GPS jamming map at https://flightradar24.com/data/gps-jamming
The flight with Ursula von der Leyen on board transmitted a good NIC value from take-off to landing.
Some idiots seem to believe that Russians have a magic ray gun that you can point at an object and disable its GPS but not impact anyone else in the vicinity. Back to school boys …
Why would they need to use magic, Stevie Boy, when simple radio transmissions will suffice? Civilian GPS can be scrambled by emitting radio frequency (RF) noise around the frequency 1.575 GHz, either to drown out the legitimate signals (navigation suppression jamming) or to spoof them with misleading data (deception jamming). You can read about some of the tricks in this article, which notes:
“All that an attacker needs to do to create a potentially catastrophic Denial of Service attack of GPS for everything around him, is to overpower the GPS signals by emitting a signal at the same frequency, just slightly more powerful than the original (extremely weak) signals. And today, this attack could be carried out with a $20 jammer bought online.”
Targeted jamming or spoofing requires more sophisticated technology, which are well within the capabilities of state intelligence agencies.
Unfortunately, knowing how it works tends to ruin the magic.
“Why would they need to use magic, Stevie Boy, when simple radio transmissions will suffice?”
You answer your own question:
“All that an attacker needs to do to create a potentially catastrophic Denial of Service attack of GPS for everything around him,”
The “magic” is required to make sure that only the GPS of the desired object is jammed and not “everything around”.

But, I recall a report that stated that IDF members were being brought to the UK by a zionist charity so that they could recuperate from their genocidal activities. Obviously, the UK government must be permitting this. This has also been happening in Cyprus for years.
Only link I can find to that story is on PressTV so it has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

Yes, the ‘British Friends of Israel War Disabled’. One the most admired and respected charities among British MPs, especially members of Keir Starmer’s cabinet.
Meet the Zionist ‘charity’ that has brought over 5,000 Israeli war criminals to Britain

The British Friends of Israel War Disabled operates with the full approval of the government’s Charity Commission, its purpose recorded by the commission as “apply[ing] trust funds and income for the maintenance, relief treatment or otherwise for the benefit of members, or ex members of the Armed Forces of the State of Israel suffering from disability occasioned in the course of their duties.”
No warnings or sanctions have been issued against it throughout the Gaza Genocide.

Hi zoot, this is an old link and the charity existed for decades.
How many IDF soldiers are in the Uk in 2025 ?
Secondly, are they returning to Palestine for more of the same after ‘therapy’ in the UK?
The Skripal case as portrayed is quite rightly a study in absurdity.
I am just wondering if the Metropolitan Police appreciates just how absurd it appears when as reported today it has charged another 47 people with terrorism offences by sending them a letter by Royal Mail to appear before a magistrate’s court sometime in October, a move which has Superintendent Helen Flanagan of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command saying officers are moving “quickly and efficiently” to investigate arrests.
Real terrorists must be laughing out loud.
Placard holding terrorists will not see the funny side although their conscience will certainly be clear.
Perhaps the magistrate will tell each of them to write out “I will not be a terrorist” 100 times.
The authorities are totally taking the piss where the use of the word “terrorism” is concerned.
Many police officers probably don’t like the optics of this either, at least those among them who have got two brain cells to rub together and didn’t only just manage to squeeze into jobs in the police rather than join the prison service.
I wonder how many terrorists slipped through at Heathrow when five armed police swarmed to arrest Graham Linehan for posting micromessages on Elon Musk’s service in which he criticised the transvestite cult, namely
1 – a caption to a photo of a tranvestites’ protest, saying “A photo you can smell”.
2 – a message saying “I hate them. Misogynists and homophobes. F— em”.
3 – a message saying “If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls”.
Five police at an important airport. All carrying guns that tax money paid for them to know how to use. Because a man said in public that a bloke in a dress who demands to enter women’s only spaces is a bloke.
Starmer’s response to the Linehan arrest is a tissue of lies. It’s obvious that when someone is arrested at Heathrow for nothing to do with what is supposed to have happened during their journey or at the airport, the decision is not usually made by the Heathrow police. The Heathrow police don’t watch everything that happens on the internet and decide to put someone on the list for being detained (whether under the Public Order Act or the Terrorism Act) if they arrive at the airport. There is a list that people can be put on, mandating “Arrest this person if they enter (or re-enter) the country”. It’s not clear who puts people on this list, but it certainly isn’t only the Heathrow police. This is obvious.
“in a sense this story is more important than ever.”
Skripal was a turning point. Immediately MSM, Parliament and Government had the excuse they wanted to go hysterical full on “Russia Bad” without waiting for evidence. Just because it sold papers, or provided a stick to wave about. It’s the hysteria that I remember.
The UK version of Oct 7th or 9/11 ?
Every western regime needs a handy false flag to accelerate their twisted agendas !
In the current political/media environment in the UK, even if the conjecture here is somehow correct, it wouldn’t matter a jot anyway; because the political class nor the media would be interested in knowing the truth. The Russia ‘bad’ narrative is so firmly established, they wouldn’t want their precious worldviews shaking. I mean, imagine the BBC, Sky News, the Guardian, Cadwalladr, Freedland et al or journos at the Times, Telegraph all having to eat humble pie and say the people they branded ‘cranks and conspiracy theorists’ were in fact right all along. And with this ‘civil servant’ PM we’ve got, I’d wager his instincts would be simply to cover it up, citing the reputational damage it’d do to the UK’s international image.
Thus, we haven’t got a truly free press. And we’ve got a political class that views the needs of the intel services & military as more important than the public’s right to know. Both big parties are so comfortable under FPTP with the fact its impossible to remove them, that they’ve forgotten the covenant between government and governed , and what ‘representing people’ is actually supposed to mean.
The press is remarkably similar to the medical fraternity and the scientific fraternity it seems.
The whole regime stinks.
They haven’t forgotten, it’s the case that the covenant no longer exists.
What do MPs do?
Members of Parliament (MPs) are sent to the House of Commons from every part of the UK to represent local people and ensure they have a voice in national decisions.
MPs work both at the UK Parliament and in their local constituencies. As elected office-holders, there is no statutory job description for MPs and so how they each carry out their role may vary.
How an MP decides to divide their time can depend upon the schedule of business in the House of Commons, the distance of their constituency from London, their family responsibilities, or whether they have taken on additional responsibilities in the Commons or in the government.
If an MP has taken on an extra role in the House of Commons (such as a committee chair) or in government (such as a ministerial role), they may need to spend more time at Westminster particularly when the House is sitting.
MPs employ a small number of staff to assist with work at Parliament and help to run offices in the constituency. This allows work to continue in both settings while the MP travels between the two.

“The Russia ‘bad’ narrative is so firmly established, they wouldn’t want their precious worldviews shaking. ”
Fron the Wikipedia article on the Crimean War:
The Russians evacuated Wallachia and Moldavia in late July 1854. Therefore, the immediate cause of war had now been withdrawn, and the war might have then ended. However, war fever among the public in both Britain and France had been whipped up by the press in both countries to the degree that politicians found it untenable to propose immediately ending the war.
Sounds familiar?
That really resonates with today. Putin has replaced Bin Laden in the collective western media’ conscience, as the omnipresent bogeyman. Some of the most hostile voices when it comes to finding a negotiated solution to the Ukraine war – those urging Zelenskyy to stick to maximalist, unrealistic demands – are found among those who write the western press editorials.
“Every
westernregime needs a handy false flag to accelerate their twisted agendas !”Fixed that.

Just out on REUTERS.
AG, I have just come across a statement by Anatoly Shariy that six AfD candidates died before the elections and the police are reporting non-criminal nature of the deaths. A certain DPA inquiry is mentioned.
Could you please tell what is he talking about?
I can´t really comment on it, too little further info.
There is this by FOCUS magazine which gives at least their age (59-71) for the first 4. (Can you access this site or not?)
https://www-focus-de.translate.goog/politik/deutschland/sechs-afd-kandidaten-in-nrw-tot-was-ueber-die-gruselige-serie-bekannt-ist_4608eabd-3ac3-400c-be70-9ff638565ff8.html?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=wapp
What might be interesting is this info:
“Candidates from other parties have also died
A spokesperson for the state election director stated in response to a request from T-Online that candidates from other parties and voter associations had also died after being nominated for the election. Ten deaths were known, four of which involved the AfD. The two reserve list candidates were not included.”
did they have the covid jabs?
Thank you, AG
I can imagine what they would say if such deaths happened in Russia.
“Candidates from other parties have also died” – so, everything is fine then?
I will let you know IF something comes up.
Of course it would be all over as you suggest – as long as someone would inform them about those local elections somewhere in Siberia. Because otherwise our so-called journalists seem to only know St. Petersburg and Moscow. And these German incidents took place in small towns on the country-side which non-locals are not aware of. That´s why I compare it to “Siberia” (which of course is a cliché, so forgive me.)
“In Cologne alone there are 1822 nominations”. Really? The same proportion nationwide would mean about 130,000. Sounds like there can’t be many people in Germany who aren’t politicians or aspiring politicians.
British pro-regime commentators and journalists won’t want to comment on this, except to say “conspiracy theory” (best said with a completely blank face, eyes focused at infinity and an open mouth) because they won’t want to reach for a “falling out of a window” reference when it’s a fellow US satellite country.
Craig it’s no wonder the local woman scolded you for yr humour. Your appreciation for the absurdities makes it impossible not to laugh, particularly because the matter is so consequential. Reckon you cld pull off a cracking Fringe show on it.
Frankly I cannot understand why anybody takes seriously this GPS nonsense.
It is about as true/real as FSB killing Skripal via Novichok, or the story over Navalny, or the sabotage of cables on the bottom of the sea by Russians, or the destruction of Nordstream by Russians, or the complete bollocks of calling tanker fleets that disregard the illegal sanctions as “shadowy”, or the nonsense over Vulkan leaks (Craig commented on that piece of fake news back then), or Russians sabotaging the grain deal, or Russia loosing 1,7M soldiers, or Russians planning genocide against Ukraine, or Russiagate, or, or, or.
I really would suggest commen sense and that all these fairy tales follow a clear pattern of lie and deception by Western media, and Western PR agencies and Western secret intelligence services. I mean it´s not as if they didn´t have experience in lying to the public in the past.
Instead virtually NOBODY reports about such actions as Westerners sinking the Russian cargo ship Ursa Major (GB?) in the Mediterranean in a serious way (could be regarded as an act of war), or the illegal interception of Russian civilian vessels in international waters, or Ukraine sabotaging oil pipelines to Hungary. Or AFU forces targetting Russian war correspondents at the front. Or a million other “odd” and “mysterious” events which either never make it into the news or are being so incredibly distorted that it defies description. Probably it was all the Martians.
It all reminds me of Operation Ultra in WWII when for every true operation a fake was invented to cover up that GB had cracked Enigma.
Re. your last sentence, yes it’s possible that one of the markets is the Russian side and they’re trying to make out they’re more vulnerable than they (think they) are. But they wouldn’t have to do it in public.
As it stands, it’s like a Daily Express story.
Wishful thinking could be involved, given it’s Ursula Von Der Leyen 🙂
And, of course, the cracking of enigma was enabled by sloppy German coding procedures and the capturing of code books from captured submarines. Not wishing to undermine at all the work done at Bletchley but luck played a significant part.
Some of the way the British end of the Enigma story is told serves to direct attention away from the fact that several leading scumbag British physicists and mathematicians at Cambridge went to help the burgermunchers develop nuclear weapons. Strangely the US military have never left Britain since that time.
Of course the story has to be told in terms of British intellectual brilliance, rather than treason, greed, and amoral detachment from the megadeath consequences of their actions that any servant at Cambridge would have been able to explain to them.
It was the Poles, I think, who cracked Enigma initially; Bletchley just developed their work, developed vastly it needs to be said. Sufficient credit is not given in the Bletchley museum.
“Frankly I cannot understand why anybody takes seriously this GPS nonsense.”
To paraphrase Artemus Ward, “For people who believe that kind of thing, this is the kind of thing they believe.”

I think that the 1.7 million military casualties claim was claimed here recently re Ukraine, not Russia.
I invited the poster to provide evidence but saw no reply.
JK redux
I have written on this a few times I believe.
What you certainly will never get it such an event as a Kiev government press conference where it is disclosed to the world press that 1.5M-1.7M got killed.
What we do know is e.g. that Mediazona operated with, lets say, 108k-150k Russian casualties.
If you add the kill ratio from the battlefield via artillery of 10:1 with Russians shooting 10 times as many shells as the AFU then you have about that number.
This ratio by now is 3 years old and has only inreased. Probably to 11-18:1 depending on front section.
You have such occasions as Ukrainian mobile phone services calculating such Ukrainian casualty numbers based on their data.
You also have information on the vast expansion of cemetery spaces.
Or alluding to the huge loss of males with countless women having a dating problem.
The most recent figure came from a Russian hacker group that allegedly had gotten hold of official internal AFU data.
There was no campaign that I would have been aware of by our media that would have rebutted the hacked data. Instead Western media as usual when it is true simply stay silent and ignore it.
Decent journalists however have picked it up.
You also have the Russian Ministry of Defence´s daily figures, which from Germany I apparently cannot reach even using TOR. Which is a goddam, fucking scandal!!!!
(Sorry but I have just realized this. I was already forced to using TOR for such government sources since we are such a goddam free information society. But THIS is new…)
Maybe you are more tech savvy than me.

I suggest you listen to this latest conversation with Swiss former NATO and former Siwss secret intelligence, and former UN in Ukraine and Rwanda, Jacques Baud. He is one of the best military scholars on the war.

So start with a guess and multiply it by another guess.
It’s similar to the way the British Government calculated the probable casualties from German bombing in WW2, in WW1 bombing raids on London had killed 50 people for every ton of bombs dropped so, they thought, all they had to do was work out how many tons of bombs Goering’s Luftwaffe could drop and multiply by that number. Simples. The number they came up with was 600,000 dead and 1.2 million injured in the first six months. Mass burial in lime pits was proposed and widespread panic was expected. In the event the whole six months of the Blitz on London resulted in 20,000 killed and 70,000 injuries of all categories from 18,000 tons of bombs.
GIGO.
“So start with a guess and multiply it by another guess.”
Forgive me but that is simply an incompetent comment made sticking to complete delusions over this war and buying into everything that has MI6 stuck onto it; not because it might be genuine quality analysis but because it supports the side you want to see winning. That is not serious thinking or a serious argument.
Sorry.
I suggest you stop making comparisons to a war 80 years ago.
THIS has very very little resemblance.
It is well established now that moving around in the open under the now standard quality ISR gets you killed almost in an instant – and that is true for both sides. Which is also why the Russians have chosen this slow speed and the attritional approach.
” Russians have chosen this slow speed and the attritional approach ”
You were saying about delusional comments? That shows you’ve bought into everything Russian propagandists are telling you, I mean the slow progress wouldn’t be down to Ukrainian resistance, would it?
Maybe now you’ve done with the insults you’d like to put up some genuine quality analysis.
I did not intend to insult you. But I am indeed surprised that you are still repeating these IMO invalid talking points. And there I might cross a border. If so, my apology. But as the matter is concerned I stand by my point.
Take anyone from Jeffrey Sachs, Andrei Martyanov, Jacques Baud, Mathew Hoh, Ray McGovern, Ted Postol, Lee Slusher, Larry Johnson, Scott Ritter, Douglas Macgregor, Daniel Davis, John Mearsheimer, Brian Berletic and many more (I spare you the Russians in Russia) they agree more or less on this (depending on how much they indeed are military men.)
And it doesn´t change the facts on the ground to just mock and laugh away any of these names. There is not superhuman who knows it all. But that makes it more trustworthy in fact. One starts to assess and evaluate each.
-in 2022 US and UK military officers said in places like NEWSWEEK, NYT or WaPo they were surprised how constrained RU conducted the war in terms of non-deliberate all-out-assault. Because that would have been the NATO way to do it.
– in 2023 the US War College´s official magazine on the infantry wrote a piece where it stated that US forces were outdated in their tactics and training. Which – my addition – was the basis for NATO conduct forced upon AFU. To conduct a real infantry war against RU by that time would – by the US´s own internal estimate – cause 50k casualties by a fortnight of war – which equals all losses US forces suffered during 20 years of “anti-terror” war in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Eventually suggesting that that would be the reason for the US not being able to wage this kind of war.
-the US halted its development of a successor to the Abrams as a result to the abysmal performance of Western tanks in general in this war
-French most likely never delivered their Leclers to protect them from the bad press that would cause among potential future customers
-AFU personnel has come to appreciate Soviet style wargear after the NATO tanks failed in all kinds of ways
-in general analyses favourable of RU performance and military progress are being more or less confirmed 2 years after the fact by Westerners
-it was reported that early into the war Ukrainian officers who were opposed to NATO strategy as discussed in Ramstein were shut up
Russia has been a major continental army for centuries and they have had a high level of experience and skill while the US and GB were maritime powers. Both lead to various skill sets and military cultures. I don´t know what would be so diffiult to acknowledge about that. And that this can be observed in this continental war.
Also I have come a very long way to defend these conclusions myself and not just because it would be convenient for some reason like sympathy. I started out 2021 reading German and European legacy media. I discovered inconsistencies in the reporting and then started to study and inquire this matter very closely. Struggling with former beliefs.
It´s not as if I woke up one morning saying to myself “Nah, that´s all bollocks.” I have by now spent years to try and understand this. This process included personal conversations with American/German experts, like Ted Postol or Sevim Dagdelen. And I still am changing positions on subjects if scrutiny suggests. And many things I do not understand and am unsure of. But others I have come to believe in as have been standing the test of time.

No offence intended but simply listing people in whom you repose trust isn’t an argument for any claim.
If you claim that Ukraine has 1.7 million casualties then why not offer evidence in support of that claim?
Not just “Col. Douglas Macgregor said so.”.
” Take anyone from …. they agree more or less on this ”
A lie oft repeated does not become the truth. We all know they’re singing from the same hymnsheet.
” in 2022 US and UK military officers said in places like NEWSWEEK, NYT or WaPo they were surprised how constrained RU conducted the war ”
Which they blamed on the Russian army’s ‘dysfunctional leadership’.
https://www.newsweek.com/russia-military-leaderships-increasingly-dysfunctional-uk-1753047
” 2023 the US War College´s official magazine on the infantry wrote a piece where it stated that US forces were outdated in their tactics and training. ”
Can’t find the article.
” -the US halted its development of a successor to the Abrams as a result to the abysmal performance of Western tanks in general in this war ”
Simply not true. The US halted a major upgrade programme to the Abrams due to weight issues. Instead a new version is being developed that’ll have a hybrid drive train.
https://gagadget.com/en/622164-a-sharp-turn-the-us-will-not-upgrade-the-old-abrams-again-but-will-create-a-new-platform/
The French are hesitating about sending Leclercs because they don’t feel they have enough as it is and Ukraine is still asking for more Western tanks.
“If you claim that Ukraine has 1.7 million casualties then why not offer evidence in support of that claim?”
Last time you asked that, I replied this: https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2025/08/ukraine/comment-page-2/#comment-1084853, which you ignored.

Your source is not impressive or persuasive (Bannon).
And my comment was addressed to AG.

1) On the 1.7M
I assume this is the hackers´ own TG channel where they posted the obtained info
https://t.me/mash/67103
It was picked up here e.g. which is a US not a pro-RU outlet:
“Ukraine Has Lost 1.7 Million Military Personnel at War, New Files Confirm: ‘Several Generations’ Gone
Eastern Europe and Central Asia , Ground”
Military Watch Magazine Editorial Staff
August-21st-2025
https://militarywatchmagazine.com/article/ukraine-lost-million-personnel-war-files-generations
“(…)
A digital card index acquired by hacker groups from Ukraine’s Chief of Staff has provided details on dead or missing personnel, including their names, details of their deaths, and personal data of their families. The information indicates that 118,500 personnel were killed or went missing in 2022, 405,400 in 2023, 595,000 in 2024 and 621,000 so far in 2025, which corroborates with a growing body of evidence which has emerged over more than three years that attrition rates have increased tremendously and unsustainably.
(…)”
Swiss military expert and former NATO officer and Swiss intelligence officer, Jacques Baud, refers to the 1.7M (the info obtained by the hackers) to talk about how Mediazona´s numbers on RU are 10 times lower than UKR numbers on RU. And that it appears as if UKR is using Mediazona´s numbers multiplying them by the real kill ratio suffered in reality by AFU and them stick it on the RU side. Kinda insane.
TC: 17:23 – 22:00
https://glenndiesen.substack.com/p/jacques-baud-why-the-west-does-not
This odd correlation between Mediazona, RU General Stuff and the inversion machinated by UKR is also mentioned by Baud in his 2024 study “THE RUSSIAN ART OF WAR” which I will refer to below and which I have quoted extensively in the forum (see point 2 below)
(For simplicity I have removed the footnote numbers referenced by Baud.)
“(…)
The Mediazona website is well known, but our media avoid referring to it, as the figures it gives are much lower than their own. For August ´22, Mediazona and the BBC gave a death toll of 5185 (as of July 29).
In fact, the Russian Ministry of Defense officially announced the death toll only twice: on March 25 (1351 dead) and September 21, 2022 (5937 dead). It has not mentioned Russian deaths in subsequent communiqués. The figures announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense were 15,000 Russian deaths on March 24, 2022 and 55,510 deaths on September 22.
But on the dates of the official Russian announcements, the Mediazona website announced figures of 1,316 and 6,219 dead (counted as at September 9, 2022). There is therefore a fairly good correlation between the official figures and those of the opposition.
Assuming that Mediazona does a serious job, there are two obvious conclusions:
The figures given by the Russian Ministry of Defense were most probably correct;
The Ukrainians (and therefore our media) tend to report Russian losses that are ten times higher than the reality.
(…)”
German reporter Patrik Baab (who wrote 2 books about his trips to Donbas and who had some beef with FSB when he visited Russia) included the new data on casualties into a comment on Anchorage he made recently on altern. news medium OVERTON-MAGAZIN:
machine.translation of the phrase:
“(…)The people of Ukraine can hope that they will no longer be led to the slaughter for the geostrategic interests of others. With at least 1.4 million dead (Author’s note and update, August 20, 2025: According to recently released figures from the Ukrainian General Staff, the AFU’s losses (killed or missing) amount to 1,721,000 soldiers), the country has been bled dry.(…)”

2) I have posted an excerpt on the issue of Ukrainian and Russian casualties up to 2024 from Jacques Baud´s study “The Russian Art of War” in the Ukraine forum.

When time allows I will try to come up with more.
3) There is e.g. some helpful info on why and how NATO tanks were inferior to RU tanks.
Leclercs are not mentioned here since they were never delivered. But it is unlikely to assume that where Challengers, Leopards, Abrams, Bradleys etc. failed, Leclercs would not.
One main point here is: NATO tanks are larger and and higher since they were designed for (East) European terrain which is more rugged than the flat Russian. While Russian tanks in general are smaller and therefore more difficult to target.
In Eastern Ukraine this led to the disadvantage that the larger NATO tanks were more easily spotted than the smaller Soviet built.
Also in general – I mentioned this before – later US gear was constructed with very different wars in mind. Mostly counter-insurgency where limited periods of time of fighting would occur. And also less used shells.
Eventually this became a major issue for M777s or French Caesars which were not made for the frequency necessary in this war.
As one Ukrainian officer responsible for handling this problem said: Accuracy decreased from 7m to 70m.
A problem that would not be applicable to RU artillery and rocket-launchers since there were more of them and they were more durable since more simple in design and built for these rapid and long fires.
On the other hand NATO tanks appear less safe for crew. This too was reported before from AFU who eventually often appeared to prefer their Soviet models.
Following is a rather typically primitive and uninformed text by NATIONAL INTEREST (considering the length of the piece and the actual hard info it contains) but to make a basic point:
“Russia’s Old T-72: Best Tank on Earth and Ukraine Knows It”
by Brandon J. Weichert
October 29, 2024
https://nationalinterest.org/blog/buzz/russias-t-72-best-tank-earth-and-ukraine-knows-it-213349
Re: ARMATA, from what I reckon Weichert here spreads nonsense. ARMATA was used in very little numbers simply because the model is still in development so they were only testing it. Baud suggests a rule by thumb of 15 years to develop a tank.
Also Russians initally planned with tank battles which the Ukrainians evaded after the summer 2022 when most of their tanks had been destroyed from then on relying more on tank-infantry operations.
For that purpose however older Soviet T-54/55/62 were very good. Which is why they were brought in. Not for lack of other platforms or the other newer platforms´ failure (T-90, ARMATA).
Baud quotes RUSI:
“(…)
(RUSI) noted, the Russians are not using T-54/55/62 tanks to fight Ukrainian tanks, but to support infantry with explosive shells (HE) against protected or fortified Ukrainian positions, up to a distance of 4000 m.
(…)”
“Your source is not impressive or persuasive (Bannon).”
What has Bannon got to do with anything and, anyway, why does my source matter? Do you dispute the facts and figures presented and if so, why?
“And my comment was addressed to AG.”
Ah, sorry, I thought you were interested in obtaining information, not just point-scoring. My bad.
Pears Morgaine
1) A few examples I was having in mind on Western comments about RU conduct of war:
This was early into the war.
NEWSWEEK (this example was quoted by Jacques Baud in his cited “THE RUSSIAN ART OF WAR” and by Joe Lauria on CONSORTIUM NEWS in June last year.)
I am quoting Lauria here who is quoting this NEWSWEEK item:
“Putin’s Bombers Could Devastate Ukraine But He’s Holding Back. Here’s Why”
Published Mar 22, 2022
https://www.newsweek.com/putins-bombers-could-devastate-ukraine-hes-holding-back-heres-why-1690494
“(…)
The piece quotes an unnamed analyst at the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) saying, “The heart of Kyiv has barely been touched. And almost all of the long-range strikes have been aimed at military targets.”
A retired U.S. Air Force officer now working as an analyst for a Pentagon contractor, added: “We need to understand Russia’s actual conduct. If we merely convince ourselves that Russia is bombing indiscriminately, or [that] it is failing to inflict more harm because its personnel are not up to the task or because it is technically inept, then we are not seeing the real conflict.”
The article says:
“As of the past weekend, in 24 days of conflict, Russia has flown some 1,400 strike sorties and delivered almost 1,000 missiles (by contrast, the United States flew more sorties and delivered more weapons in the first day of the 2003 Iraq war). …
A proportion of those strikes have damaged and destroyed civilian structures and killed and injured innocent civilians, but the level of death and destruction is low compared to Russia’s capacity.
‘I know it’s hard … to swallow that the carnage and destruction could be much worse than it is,’ says the DIA analyst. ‘But that’s what the facts show. This suggests to me, at least, that Putin is not intentionally attacking civilians, that perhaps he is mindful that he needs to limit damage in order to leave an out for negotiations.’”
A second retired U.S. Air Force officer says:
“I’m frustrated by the current narrative—that Russia is intentionally targeting civilians, that it is demolishing cities, and that Putin doesn’t care. Such a distorted view stands in the way of finding an end before true disaster hits or the war spreads to the rest of Europe. I know that the news keeps repeating that Putin is targeting civilians, but there is no evidence that Russia is intentionally doing so. In fact, I’d say that Russian could be killing thousands more civilians if it wanted to.”
These Pentagon sources confirm what Putin and the Russian Ministry of Defense have been saying all along: that instead of being “stalled,” Russia is executing a methodical war plan to encircle cities, opening humanitarian corridors for civilians, leaving civilian infrastructure like water, electricity, telephony and internet intact, and trying to avoid as many civilian casualties as possible.
Until these Pentagon leaks it was difficult to confirm that Russia was entirely telling the truth and that corporate media were publishing fables cooked up by Ukraine’s publicity machine.
(…)”
Jacques Baud after quoting the same NEWSWEEK issue goes on with quoting Arestovitch:
“(…)
In January 2023, Oleksei Arestovitch, then an ex-personal advisor to Volodymyr Zelensky, interviewed on the Ukrainian media Mriya, used almost the same words as Ambassador Gatilov to describe the Russian intervention:
They [the Russians] didn’t want to kill anyone… They tried to wage an intelligent war… A special operation as elegant, as beautiful, as quick as lightning, where polite people, without causing any harm to the kitten or the child, liquidated the few resistance fighters. And not even eliminated, but offered to surrender, to defect, to understand, and so on. They didn’t want to kill anyone. All they had to do was sign a waiver.
(…)”
Noam Chomsky before his stroke had a series of conversatios with truthout magazine. From those this NYT quote:
NYT 17.9.22
„(…) Some American officials express concern that the most dangerous moments are yet to come, even as Mr. Putin has avoided escalating the war in ways that have, at times, baffled Western officials. He has made only limited attempts to destroy critical infrastructure or to target Ukrainian government buildings. He has not attacked the supply hubs outside Ukraine. While he has directed low-level cyberattacks against Ukrainian targets every week, they have been relatively unsophisticated, especially when compared to capabilities that Russia has shown it has, including in the SolarWinds attack on American government and commercial systems that was discovered just before Mr. Biden took office.“
(…)”
And this phrase from the WaPo
WaPo 16.8.22
„(…)Western intelligence officials, looking back at what turned out to be the shambolic Russian attack on Kyiv, acknowledge that they overestimated the effectiveness of the Russian military.
“We assumed they would invade a country the way we would have invaded a country,” one British official said.
(…)“
Naturally with propaganda at the heart of this war you will not see or hear much admission by Western legacy media of what I am suggesting. Just like the fact that the info on 1.7M obtained by hackers is probably legit it was completely ignored by German outlets.
2) Baud ends with this comparison of Ukraine with Gaza:
I do not need to explain the issue here, but since it fits the topic (and since yesterday again I had a discussion where this was not understood by Germans. It appears if you are Israeli you are allowed to blow up the world and if you are Russian you are allowed to die.)
“(…)
On October 18, on TV5 Monde, Pascal Boniface, director of IRIS, attempted to compare Russia’s strikes in Ukraine and Israel’s strikes in Gaza. Israel’s response to the Hamas operation launched on October 7, 2023 provides us with an element of comparison on the question of civilian protection. Between February 24, 2022 and October 8, 2023, in 591 days, 9806 civilians lost their lives in Ukraine, including 560 children and 7649 in Kiev-controlled territory, an average of 13 per day. In Gaza, between October 7 and 31, 2023, Israel killed 8,525 Palestinians. As the civilian or combatant nature of these Palestinians is not specified, we will take into account the mortality of women and children, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA). It appears that during these 25 days, some 5729 (67 percent) were women and children, and at least 3542 were children, i.e., 379 per day.
Thus, the Russians (and Ukrainians) caused the death of 0.94 children per day, while Israel killed 141.7 per day. Beyond the numbers, this indicates fundamentally different strike policies. The figure for Ukraine tends to indicate collateral damage; whereas for Gaza it is more a question of deliberate policy, confirmed by Israeli officials who have stated that they prefer “damage and destruction” to the precision of strikes.
(…)”
3) The quote from the War College that in a hot war with Russia US troops would be getting killed in too high numbers would be here:
“(…)
Casualties, Replacements, and Reconstitutions
The Russia-Ukraine War is exposing significant vulnerabilities
in the Army’s strategic personnel depth and ability to withstand and replace
casualties. Army theater medical planners may anticipate a sustained
rate of roughly 3,600 casualties per day, ranging from those killed in action
to those wounded in action or suffering disease or other non-battle injuries.
With a 25 percent predicted replacement rate, the personnel system will
require 800 new personnel each day. For context, the United States sustained
about 50,000 casualties in two decades of fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.
In large-scale combat operations, the United States could experience that same
number of casualties in two weeks.

The US Army War College Quarterly: Parameters
A Call to Action: Lessons from Ukraine for the Future Force
by Katie Crombe, John A. Nagl
https://press.armywarcollege.edu/parameters/vol53/iss3/10/
Well before this war there was internal criticism of training of US ground forces in general.
The idea that the US has been fighting “insurgencies” and not peer enemies has been worrying instructors for some time.
In an environment where US forces do not have air superiority, are being constantly jammed and face peer ISR the destruction of their forces would be rather likely.
One of the issues of the AFU is simply that these inadequate tactics by US/NATO were forced upon them.
And think of Andrei Martyanov whatever you want: If he says that AFU officers who contradicted in Ramstein to the tactics implemented were shut up that makes total sense. And besides in the cracks of the Western PR you do find contradictions coming through. But its´s happening only very rarely. Were there a constant flow of honest assessments the public would change its view. Especially many more reporters than have done so far.
4) As to the Leclercs defending France rather than being burnt in Ukraine – do not expect any military to publicly admit that their tanks are bad. Instead to claim “we wanted to protect France” is the most common of arguments. So I don´t see their comment as proof for anything. And considering that a real Russian attack would be carried out by missiles a few Leclercs standing in Paris wouldn´t make any difference
5) On the slow progress of Russians: I am aware that you will ignore the argument, but this is a choice made by the Russians.
As I wrote many times, this is not about conquering as much territory as quickly.
Baud suggests that the “attritional” approach was decided on in the summer of 2022. His point being that 3 attempts to negotiate failed – Februrary/March, April, August 2022 (I think Craig Murray wrote about the summer negotations) – and they concluded that this conflict would be decided on the battlefield only after Ukraine and NATO would have exhausted their means.
And again: Putin in April 2022 granted General Staff as much time as they would need.
It makes no sense to roll over the country, cause potentially Hundreds of thousands of civilan deaths, potentially trigger a serious NATO reaction – for what purpose? Occupy a country with 30M people?
We do not know where it will end. But for now the Russian government does not want any of that. And none of us wants to see what it would look like if Russia would go to war for real, mobilize and do all the things they would do in such a scenario.

Reform are declaring that if elected they will allow fracking.
It’s deeply concerning to imagine a return to the hugely damaging past – many on all sides of the issue suffered as a result. Residents, local workers, police, activists – all were forced into a situation of the government’s making. To license a clearly dangerous industry and allow it to lie its way into communities is abhorrent.
The moratorium that forced the halt to fracking in 2019, makes clear that it cannot be allowed to resume unless it can prove it is safe – and the industry just can’t do that, because it clearly isn’t.
And as for the government’s response to the protests: Police were brought in from as far apart as Northumberland and Cornwall and were being used as a training exercise for how to deal with protests which the Tories knew were inevitable when they tried to roll out fracking all over the country. Reform Ltd receive the majority of their funding from the fossil fuel industry and that’s their chief reason for seeking power. All this anti immigrant jingoism is just a means to whip up support for Reform Ltd to carry out their real agenda for their paymasters. Richard Tice believes they can just stamp out all rights for local people to stand up for themselves. Thats the reason for their pushing to leave the ECHR like Russia and Belarus have done. You don’t see much protest in those countries.

‘Musk’s “Colossus” could initially operate at only about 35% of installed capacity because the electricity wasn’t available. Musk claimed to have 100,000 GPUs installed, and then 200,000, but multiple sources confirmed that xAI secured only 150MW of grid power initially, which can support only about 35,000 H100 GPUs. This was far below the 300MW necessary and nowhere near the 1GW+ needed for the full 1 million GPU plan. The math is stark: 150MW can support only about 35,000 H100 GPUs’

Hm I’m feeling quite uncomfortable that the newly elected leader and deputy leaders of the Green Party are Jewish and were brought up in Zionist schools with parents who were deeply disturbed about the Holocaust, and that they came late onto the ballot and had huge majorities, while the acting leaders and deputy polled low.
They have declared that they support Gaza’s right to defend itself. Nonetheless the Jewish Chronicle’s pride in their achievements sticks in the maw, as the metaphor goes. And the new leader was convicted of being a charlatan hypnotist at one point in his CV. I don’t deny my being antisemitic where there is the faintest whiff of support for current or historic war crimes committed by the ambitions for an Israeli state in Palestine. Housing secretary Angela Rayner is saying it’s her lawyer’s fault that she fiddled her tax.
Well I guess it had to be somebody’s fault. Will she be making a complaint about him?
Starmer said she was the victim of “people briefing against her and talking her down over and over again”.
I’m not biased. I’ve liked Angela Rayner ever since she did the Basic Instinct flap at Boris Johnson, when she was accused of something similar to witchcraft.
She’s the deputy chair of the National Security Council, which is the USA-themed name for the British cabinet’s national security committee. She’s unlikely to be for much longer.
The question is why is Rayner being singled out and why now? OK, maybe it is purely the facts of the tax situation, which don’t look that good for her, admittedly. Nevertheless, I have often suspected that there are potential scandals involving almost every person in power, and they are stored up until the individual in question becomes inconvenient for some reason or steps out of line. It seems to me that the media/’deep state’ sat on Johnson’s lockdown activities for more than a year until they no longer needed a jolly buffoon to front their appalling lockdowns. It was similar with Nicola Sturgeon too. So, maybe over-cynically, I ask: Why do ‘they’ (possibly) want Angela Rayner out at this point – is it, perhaps, because she would be the obvious and attractive alternative to Starmer, and the media narrative has to be that Farage already has the next election virtually in the bag? We’ll see but I have no doubt there is one or more hidden agendas behind the media story. I say that as someone who didn’t vote Labour in 2024 too.
Yes – totally agreed.
Perhaps she took the wrong side in a big players’ game and upset someone.
I don’t know anyone who took her seriously as a possible PM, but even if she had become PM she still wouldn’t have been a big player.
There could be
* something that’s been in the briefings for members of the National Security Council
* something to do with housing that connects with asylum (there are landlords benefiting from huge government contracts in that field, including Van Hoogstraten)
* something to do with local government finance (another thieves’ paradise), possibly connected with what may soon be a cataclysmic bonds crisis (also known as Payday for those with the right connections)
* Manchester-area organised crime connections?
“Nevertheless, I have often suspected that there are potential scandals involving almost every person in power, and they are stored up until the individual in question becomes inconvenient for some reason or steps out of line.”

I agree. This press/media pile on is clearly being orchestrated. This comes back to the ‘media independence’ debate. The Telegraph investigation started this, and the whole media have joined in the pile on. Her alleged offense : trying to do the best by her son and taking , as it turned out , bad advice. Most parliamentarians and journos, who now wagging their disapproving fingers at Rayner, own financial affairs wouldn’t stand up to similar scrutiny. For example:
https://www.tatler.com/article/sir-keir-starmer-owns-land-in-surrey-worth-10-million
It was stated Starmer owned 7 acres of prime building Land in Surrey, worth an estimated £10 million. Said land was sold, but there was virtually no reporting of what it fetched, nor whether Starmer entered it in the listings in the MPs’ Register of Interests.
I don’t care for Angela Rayner personally or politically; I think she’s betrayed the leftist Labour membership who voted for her to be the conscience reining Starmer’s worst RW excesses in. But this reeks of an establishment planted story to remove her by forcing her to resign(he can’t sack her because Deputy PM is an elected post). Starmer has multiple crises and may not survive as PM, thus someone wants Rayner out of the running for the leadership imho.
I don’t doubt that this is a cynical silly season story but if it gets the pretend slapper out, that’s all to the good, only 410 to go.
Squeeth
They’ll rightly hold the view Rayner isn’t PM material, but they know she is the probable winner of any early leadership contest in the event of Starmer resigning. Remember, ‘one member, one vote’ (OMOV) is still in place for leadership elections despite Starmer’s attempt to scrap it and switch to a less democratic system involving MPs having the only say. If you recall, the unions objected.
Given what ex-Tory MP, Andrew Bridgen, is going around alleging about the Ukrainian Grindr boys, blackmail and Starmer – thus far without any threatened legal action – Starmer’s remaining time as PM may be limited.
Schadenfreude is the only thing those filth are good for.
Angela voted to remove living assistance from disabled people and is an apologist for the mass slaughter of children in Gaza. In love with Larry Fink too. What is it you think they fear?
zoot
What is it you think they fear?
It could be that they believe she doesn’t share the rampant Russophobia that’s driving their obsession with Ukraine? She may not be so gung-ho for Starmer’s ineptly named – given the Iraq connotations – ‘Coalition of the Willing” either. The UK establishment are deeply invested in this war. Foreign policy concerns with Corbyn, could be why they interfered in the running of a political party to put ‘their man’ Starmer in? And the way, after 14 years in opposition, Labour’s top priority upon coming back into office, was arming the war Ukraine, and advocacy in the US, to lift the long-range missile restrictions to fire deep into Russia, is really a quite bizarre set of priorities for a PM supposedly of the left, when you think about it.
If there was any suggestion she favoured peace they’d have been making an example of her for that in itself non-stop. A far greater crime in British political and media circles than being personally corrupt.
As it is, Rayner is every bit as much of a warmonger and genocidaire as the rest of them.
zoot
Like a poor actor, she simply may not have the ability to play the role very convincingly. She’s not a natural hawk, nothing about her political background suggests that. Unlike Starmer, her natural political instincts aren’t even conservative.
Starmer has been very proactive in lobbying for sanctions; lobbying the Biden administration to lift the long-range missile restrictions and now pushing thgis coalition of the willing. Starmer, to all intents and purposes, has acted like the security services’ representative in Downing Street since taking office. Certainly no PM of the people. Rayner, simply couldn’t pull off that kind of deep public deception, even if you believe she’d be willing to try.
Rayner can’t be sacked from her position as Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, since she was elected to that position by the membership, not appointed by Stürmer.
Wait for the accusations of antisemitism and/or inappropriate sexual behaviour then you’ll know that the ruling powers want rid of her.
Angela Rayner and the Guardian etc. are taking the piss. So what if her property purchase was handled by a “family” “high street” solicitor? She’d set up a trust with her son as beneficiary. How could someone set up a trust without knowing the difference between a legal owner and a beneficial owner? Distinguishing between the two is exactly what a trust is all about. Of course it’s the legal owner, i.e. the trustee, who’s responsible for any tax. This is extremely basic trust stuff. You can’t dodge tax by declaring that you now hold some of your stuff as a trustee, with someone else as the beneficiary. FFS!
I really admire the fact that you have stuck to your guns on this story, Craig. Would be so much easier to forget all about it, except that as you say it remains an event of central significance in that has encouraged and legitimised the growth in Russophobia that in turn has helped to grease the skids for the Ukraine proxy war against Russia.
The ONLY evidence in the public domain linking Ruslan Boshirov and Alexander Petrov, or any Russians for that matter, with the poisoning and hospitalisation of the Skipals on 4 March 2018, is the positive test result for the presence of ‘Novichok’ in two environmental samples taken in early May 2018 from the room in a hotel in east London where the two Russian gentlemen had stayed two months earlier. The fact that follow-up samples proved negative makes the evidence at the best tenuous. False positives happen, as we have seen in previous cases, such as the Birmingham Six. Without this tenuous and irreproducible evidence there would be no case for Boshirov and Petrov to answer, and the expulsion of Russian diplomats from a number of western countries was demonstrably based on ignorance, prejudice and, let’s be frank, irrational Russophobia.
Well I will make one last comment regarding the box of perfume. One possible scenario is that they were on Yulia’s tail, for reasons we do not know, and that the box of perfume was packaged as a gift to her which she opened on their brief visit home between feeding the ducks and going out to lunch. This could put the oily substance on the door handles, The house was cordoned off and decontaminated. The pets died. The perfume box found its way into a charity bin a month later.
At some point the house was emptied of all their belongings. If the box of perfume had been put in a drawer or on a dressing table, its origins would not have been questioned. If their clothing and personal effects were deemed uncontaminated, then could they have been given to charity or was everything they owned destroyed? If the intention had been for them to remain in close proximity to the box of perfume at home, after opening the packaging, then they would have passed out with no one to see.
Anyway this is my last effort to try and link the evidence and timelines to the official narrative. The question remains – where are they and are they safe? And why did it happen, however it happened?
” is the positive test result for the presence of ‘Novichok’ in two environmental samples taken in early May 2018 from the room in a hotel in east London ”
In what way is that evidence? Somebody in authority, who had good reason for wanting people to believe that the twosome were connected with the Skripals, said they had evidence that there was “Novichok”, a vague term for some kind of poison, in a London hotel room. Yeah, right, it’s Mandy Rice-Davies time again.
Absolutely.
Claimed evidence. Has anyone seen the ‘chain of custody’, who took the samples, how were they tested, by whom. We only know what they tell us. Total bollox.
Coldish
I’ve seen plenty of High Def pictures of the Russian Rogues but not seen a decent picture of The Skripals.
It is possible that the two Russians were ‘ invited ‘by someone(s) for some purpose – I don’t know who.
if you remember The Russian female TV interviewer of the two she looked pretty sceptical of their story.
The very interesting revelation was the interaction between Yulia and the Doctor who was looking after her.
Yulia ( according to the doctor ) blinked to say that she had been sprayed in The Restaurant.
Never knew that info and why would I or the doctor not believe her?
It would explain why the couple took over 30 minutes to go from Zizzi’s to the bench where they collapsed
even though it looks about 300yards.
I don’t know whether Mr Skripal and Yulia smoked but they may have been sprayed out of sight due to the
smoking ban and had a ciggie under a shelter at the back – maybe the reason why no-one saw anything?
If it was in the Restaurant some one would have seen the perpetrator(s) and the spraying.
As I say, plenty of videos of the Russians but very little of the Skripals.
The interesting thing is that the police have the times of their movements past 1.40pm, possibly by CCTV
but, never queried the amount of time taken to go from Zizzis to the bench where they were found.
The perfume routine is also interesting.
If Charlie got it on his hands and it didn’t smell like perfume – why give it to Dawn as if it was perfume?
Just put it in the bin.
I don’t believe he found it – I think he was given it.
I don’t know by whom but, I think he does.
The with holding of Methadone could possibly have played a part.
Thanks, Mark, and also Bayard and Stevie.
I recall seeing a not very clear image, provided by the Russian authorities, of Yulia Skripal going through a security gate at a Moscow airport on 3 March 2018 on her way to London. Her hair colour appeared to be mid-brown.
I’m as sceptical as Bayard and Stevie re the alleged positive test results. As I pointed out, there is no other ‘evidence’ implicating Russia in the affair.
Thanks all. Fair points. The doctor’s testimony would however be deemed invalid due to his asking leading questions, which defined the parameters of her limited choice of reply. As I said, above, women are often overlooked, and their contributions dismissed as being of no importance….

And children who have the sharpest eyes and are curious ( nosey) by nature.
Very few adults ask them anything and if they tell an adult something they are ignored.
On the basis of possible child like exaggeration.
We must have Leaders then who are worse than children as they exaggerate all day and every day.
Irrational Russophobia and a long standing plan to balkanise Russia after changing its regime. This is all about Western dominance and the “liberals” who are leading the demonisation of Russia and its leader (and China, and Iran) know this perfectly well while using their supposed humanitarian concerns to brew WW3.

Yes, the US empire and its lackey the zionist occupation. Lots of states like to parade armies, they like squaddies wi’ guns a-go-go.
In all three countries the needs of the state override the rights of the individual:- Nazi. A personality cult has been created around an all powerful leader:- Nazi. Say the sort of things about that leader that we regularly say about Starmer and you’ll be exiting this world through a window or just disappeared:- Nazi. Your access to social media will be severely curtailed and closely monitored anyway,
You have to break free of the concept that because the West does some bad things then anyone who opposes the West must be the good guys and beyond reproach.
All states are authoritarian; Fascism is nothing but capitalist reaction; from the point of view of the proletariat the difference between the types of reaction is meaningless.
“In all three countries the needs of the state override the rights of the individual:- Nazi.”
In all countries the needs of the state override the rights of the individual.
“A personality cult has been created around an all powerful leader:- Nazi. ”
That presupposes the existence of a personality cult, which is very much in the eye of the propagander.
“Say the sort of things about that leader that we regularly say about Starmer and you’ll be exiting this world through a window or just disappeared:- Nazi.”
Are we referring to Merz here?

“COPENHAGEN (Reuters) -A Ukrainian weapons manufacturer will begin production of fuel for long-range missiles in Denmark, the Danish government said on Wednesday, marking the first expansion abroad by a Ukrainian defence company.
The Ukrainian company is Fire Point, maker of the Flamingo missiles, which President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has described as his country’s most successful weapon. In June, Zelenskiy said Ukraine was in talks on joint weapons production with Denmark, Norway, Germany, Canada, Britain, and Lithuania.
The fuel production will be located near Denmark’s Skydstrup air force base, home to the Nordic country’s fleet of F-16 fighter jets.Denmark has been a steadfast supporter of Ukraine since Russia’s all-out invasion of Ukraine began in 2022 and has so far contributed 67.6 billion Danish crowns ($10.13 billion) in military support, according to the Danish foreign ministry. The Danish government recently allocated 500 million crowns to support Ukrainian firms expanding in the Nordic country.”
The Danes of course have form when it comes to rolling over for Nazi’s.
“In 1939 neutral Denmark agreed to a nonaggression treaty with Nazi Germany – Danes did not establish a government-in-exile or present an active initial resistance to the occupation. Instead, there was broad collaboration with the occupiers, though under subdued protest by many – the Danes upheld a legal fiction until late summer 1943 that they were still neutral rather than occupied. That gave Germany what it wanted: quiet and order in Denmark. It also helped relations with Berlin that the collaborationist government of Eric Scavenius signed the Anti-Comintern Pact, while some Danes volunteered to serve in the Waffen-SS.”
Though eventually the Danes – took up arms and resisted the WWII Nazi’s, fast forward to today, and the Danes are aiding and abetting the Neo-Nazi’s in Ukraine..

What is it about the Russian war against Ukraine?
It prompts stream of consciousness posts.
Perhaps evidence of some kind of cognitive dissonance – dim realisation that the claims being made are nonsense.
Hoo Nose? (sic).
“Perhaps evidence of some kind of cognitive dissonance – dim realisation that the claims being made are nonsense.”
Well, you’d have to be pretty dim not to realise that, unless you were lacking in consciousness of the subject at all.
“cognitive dissonance” – ?
What about worries over what direction Europe is taking?
Or conscience?
Or a critical mind?
Duh, man…

Well RoS that needs to get into the mainstream dialogue…
It’s 5 years old.
Old news really. Though, the toolmakers spawn is only Jewish through marriage, I imagine his wife acts as his mossad handler. It partly explains why he supports the genocide of the Palestinians and shows the total distain he and his kind have for this country. Once a tool always a tool.
If by ‘he and his kind’ you mean Jews, rather than Starmer supporters in the Labour Party, your comment is offensive.
Q. H. Flack
Reads more like to me – he and his kind, supporters of Zionism, which is akin to Fascism, and Starmer admit to supporting Zionism.
“Jewish through marriage” – meaning Victoria Starmer’s mother converted to Judaism?
In what follows, I use “Jew” to mean “Jewish religious believer”, which is justified in this context because conversion is a religious concept.
Jews don’t recognise the concept of Jewish through marriage. They think Jews have three parts to their souls, including a divine part, whereas non-Jewish humans only have two parts, neither of which is a divine part. They also believe in reincarnation. So what appears as “conversion”, from the Jewish religious point of view, is a recognition that the person was Jewish, with a telltale “divine” part in their soul, all along.
Of course how the concept of reincarnation squares with matrilineality is a good question. Was Victoria Starmer’s maternal grandmother Jewish or did an embryo with a divine part to its soul spring into existence in her Gentile womb?
Those who want to ponder that question ^ should bear in mind Ivanka Trump, who also “converted to Judaism” for marriage reasons.
In the end it all comes down to practice, not theory. The theory is the servant of practice.
Religious belief (not profession) is the only justification for claiming to be of a religion (superstition). That’s why I keep pointing out that Jews can’t be zionists, it’s a lie.
And yet, some are !
Maybe you’re confusing the theory with the reality on the ground ?
Not saying you’re wrong, just that reality indicates otherwise.
Matt Pound deserves a look at. He is Rachel Reeves’s political secretary. He was deeply involved in the Zionist attacks on Jeremy Corbyn inside the Labour party. Appointed by Starmer.
He is believed to have been involved in the “Gnasher Jew” organisation. You can see him here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Labour/comments/enliuw/keir_starmers_recruit_matt_pound_with_zionist/
“a digital investigation team, we leverage open-source intelligence and cutting-edge technology to expose and hold antisemites accountable”
“One of our major accomplishments has been documenting how widespread and serious the antisemitism problem was within the UK Labour Party under Jeremy Corbyn.”
https://gnasherjew.com/
Um – did you actually watch the clip?
Starmer states that his parents were Jewish, he has family in Israel, and he is a Zionist.
This is the first time he has publicly stated this, to my knowledge.
His father in law told him he would expect him to be home for 6pm on Fridays for Friday prayers, but unless this is AI then he is stating stuff he should have been honest about before his election to leader of the Labour Party. It explains a lot.
So now with the Green Party having both leader and deputy leader Jewish, who attended Zionist schools, and Badenoch’s husband also Jewish, and in charge of media surveillance for the previous government – Starmer hasn’t got a replacement for him yet, then British politics would seem to be firmly and completely under the control or guidance of Israel. The Jewish Chronicle is very proud of their achievements.
His claims of jewishness are open to discussion and needs to be verified. He has no reason to lie but his whole career shows that he jumps on any convenient bandwagon.
“Badenoch’s husband also Jewish”
=========
Hamish Badenoch’s mother came from Ireland and he attended Ampleforth College, a public school connected with the Benedictine Order’s Ampleforth Abbey.
Cardinal Basil Hume taught there before becoming Abbot and later Archbishop of Westminster.
So, when did Hamish convert to Judaism?
But Google now yields nothing about him ever having any father… Strange?
Oh well. Sorry. His mother is Irish and his name is Gaelic for Drowned Land. So probably that name goes back to King Canute’s time when all the coastline was drowned around UK, Europe and Scandinavia…
@Alyson
“But Google now yields nothing about him ever having any father… Strange?…..His mother is Irish”
BUT was she also Jewish?
If so, that would lend some credibility to your claim that Hamish was also Jewish. Details of his father are irrelevant. In the unlikely event that Badenoch père was Jewish that would confer no claim on his son.
However, I also find :
“(Kemi Badenoch’s) husband, Hamish Badenoch, is a Roman Catholic, and the couple’s three children are being raised in the RC Church.” -Church Times
Kemi Badenoch speaks about her loss of faith.
@Alyson
“his[Badenoch] name is Gaelic for Drowned Land. So probably that name goes back to King Canute’s”
……
Gaeldom knew nothing of King Knut’’s reign nor Knut of Badenoch, from the Gaelic Bàideanach ( pronounced roughly “badge-an-ach”). it is an area in North east Scotland subject to inundation from the River Spey.
Its simplified, anglicised spelling makes almost no impact on our broadcasters, including the BBC (although Victoria Derbyshire has a decent go).
Here is a lesson in the correct pronunciation of Badenoch -from a Frenchman!

Starmer’s Jewish background would explain why the people who plotted to get rid of Jeremy Corbyn manoeuvred for Starmer to take his place.

Are you suggesting that those lovely Ukranians would do anything so dastardly as to be agents for the Russians?

By stopping the blanket coverage on major news channels . This is great relief to Kier Starmer who said he did not like the images
not the actuality just the images. I wonder what Israel would have to do for Kier Starmer or Trump to say to much stop now.

The whole of ‘yurp’ is in the hands of puppet Zionazis who have been raised over the 80 years since the destruction of the Hitlers russophobic grand armee and the equally fascist Japanese invaders by the ‘communists’ USSR and nascent Chinese Republic.
Both had massive casualties of around 50 million total.
The indonesians btw were the 3rd largest in WW2.
The Collective Waste has decided to rewrite that whole history.
Aligning s with the Axis Nations of that ‘world war’ and against the allies that we pretended to be part of – just incase they survived and came calling upon their invaders.
Something that had happened with Napoleon and his proxy grand armee ending with Russian Cossacks in Paris inventing ‘Bistros’. As Bismarck had learnt and stated – the Russians always come to collect their debts.

Why should we care what Russia thinks?” – NATO Secretary General on peacekeepers in Ukraine
🛡 NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that Russia has no right to interfere in discussions about the possible deployment of military contingents to Ukraine.
According to him, the decision can only be made by Kyiv as a sovereign state.
“Why should we care what Russia thinks about someone’s troops in Ukraine? It’s not up to them to decide,” Rutte emphasized, noting that Ukraine has the right to decide whether it needs forces for peacekeeping or as part of security guarantees.

Russia defeated Nazism – that’s something new”: EU warlord shows off her “knowledge” of history.
🇪🇪👉🇨🇳🇷🇺Kaja Kallas questioned Moscow and Beijing’s claims of a decisive role in defeating Nazism in World War II.
“Russia turned to China and said: ‘Russia and China fought in World War II, we won World War II, we defeated Nazism’ and I thought: ‘Okay, that’s something new’. If you know history, it raises a lot of questions. Nowadays, people don’t read much and don’t remember history. It’s clear that they believe these narratives,” Kallas said.

WTF
re: GPS fake by FINANCIAL TiMES´s Henry Foy?
Important note today by Jens Berger from NACHDENKSEITEN:
Yesterday, the Bulgarian government also admitted that there was never a GPS attack. This means that the entire story can now be completely classified as hoax. The person responsible for the media part of the hoax appears to be FT Brussels correspondent Henry Foy, who, according to media reports, was on board von der Leyen’s jet. Foy has some questions to answer. If he was on board and writes that the plane “had to circle the airport for an hour,” this is a demonstrably lie. However, the EU Commission is responsible for the political part of the hoax. As Foy put it: “The trip was designed to bring attention to the threat posed by Russia.” And for that, the EU and the Financial Times evidently seized on the lie. However, it is an equally great scandal that the entire media, which so willingly spread this lie on Sunday and Monday, has not yet corrected itself or even apologized.
The FT’s Henry Foy gave away the motive for that fake news before it was debunked:
“The commission confirmed our reporting and confirmed that this was being treated as a suspected Russian interference operation. They’ve said that frankly, this justifies the trip. It shows the constant, daily, almost, efforts by Russia to destabilise frontline eastern European states. It makes clear how countries in the East can’t treat this as business as usual. They need to invest in their defence and security.”

Somewhere at MI-5/MI-6.
“Let’s do something spectacular to incriminate Russia internationally.”
“Like what?”
“Let’s get chemicals sprayed on Oxford Street by ‘Russian agents.’ A hundred people of all nationalities in A&E, many severely affected. News outlets reporting on their condition round the clock. Just imagine the global outrage.”
“Nah, that’s too simple. Let ‘Russian agents’ go after one of their own, somewhere in our remote countryside, by smearing a chemical on a door handle where that ex-KGB guy lives. Let them then discard a bottle in a rubbish bin – I’m sure a random passerby will find it and sniff it, eventually, and get ill. An attack on an own agent, can you imagine how much global outrage at Russia it will cause?”
“Yes, your idea is so much better, can’t wait to see Russia on its knees, go ahead, here is £1 million for your costs.”
The End.
