    I do fervently hope and pray that the Lords will continue to show good sense and vigorously oppose this draconian and entirely illogical legislation.

    Who would care to define 'glorification' on the basis of the Commons debates and Ministers' pronouncements to date? Naturally the legal profession will – even now – be feverishly calculating likely profits from undertaking clarification, precedents, and landmark case law arising from this mediocre legislation.

    Not only is this bad strategy, it is also appallingly poorly drafted legislation. This is a graphic demonstration that 'professional' politicians – such as Blears – have lightweight intellects coupled with minimal integrity. And most will not be (will not want to be) around to suffer the consequences of their reckless actions. Macavity comes to mind.
