The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

1 Dec, 2012 – 4:54 pm – BIKES! Even for the French I can’t imagine they would allow a policeman at the bottom of the Combe to be holding a bike that was at a murder scene.
We know virtually nothing about the bikes or what the riders were wearing or carrying. We know both WBM and SM were carrying mobile phones because the former tried to use one and SM partner was worried because he hadn’t phoned. We do not know what happened to these or what if anything they revealed. We do not know what they were wearing but must conclude that both were blood stained, SM from his injuries WBM from man-handling the casualties. I have mentioned before the surprising fact that PD did not notice and refer to blood staining when they met. We do not know what happened to their clothes although one would have expected both would have been subject to detailed forensic examination. It seems that WBM was allowed to ride off on his or was it taken by the police, and he got home in a police car?
The one on the front of the low loader is almost certainly Mollier’s I would say because 1) it does not appear to be on it when the car is being manoeuvred but is there when it leaves 2) it’s unlikely an unrelated bike would be put next to the crime scene car 3) it also is wrapped. Where it was when the aerial photo was taken is anyones guess, presumably just out of shot. However no one has taken up or answer my point about the BLUE tarp. that the cop in white is lifting and is NOT the one used to cover the car. Is everyone agreed this likely covers Mollier’s bike before it is moved?
If so this is where he placed the bike when he dismounted and would support WBM’s version of events that he saw it first. (He fudges this point vocally so that its not clear whether he is referring to “bicycle” or “bicyclist”)
One final point, we are told that Mollier’s was a 5000 Euro model – a specialist bike by any standards, and people have deduced from this that he had never intended to go past Martinet, in other words Martinet was his destination and rendevous. I think this is quite persuasive supported by the observation that the bike on the front of the low loader is definately NOT a Mountain Bike. It looks more like a racer to me. If you haven’t already, just check out the width of wheels/tyres.

1 Dec, 2012 – 4:53 pm thanks for coming back on the Didierjean thing. I will follow up your references. Have you come to an opinion as to whether they were “hiking” or “driving” up the Combe, and their intention at 4 pm to go night running or some such – man and two women????????????

US Secretary of State Colin Powell leaves after giving his speech 04 September 2002 during a plenary session of the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg. Protesters drowned out a speech by Colin Powell at the Earth Summit as he defended biotech food and his country’s record on green and development issues and attacked Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe. Security guards hauled a protester out of the plenary chamber, and demonstrators unfurled a banner reading: “Betrayed by governments”. The conference chairwoman, South African Foreign Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, repeatedly called for order and warned she might suspend the meeting. From this it appears he was in S Africa on the 4 th Sept (one day before the killings in Annecy) though I haven’t cross checked the dates that appears the case from the script accompanying his photo of Colin Powell. He was definately in Annecy on the 6th September at least. He would have had to hot foot it back as it was. Could he have done the jouney by 4pm of 5th September? If he did it must be more than co-incidence. Not unlike the coincidence/good luck (?) of being at the location of Gaddafi’s capture. Looks as if he gets some seriously good tips. Then off to cover Syria. Looks as if he’s got some seriously good Muslim contacts as well.
what about this one- working in Paris (?)

Lyon: “Suddenly I recognised Kadhafi,” recalls AFP photographer Philippe Desmazes, who landed a scoop with his picture of Libya’s leader captured & badly wounded moments before his death a year ago Saturday. Leaving behind the raucous celebration of the 42-year-old regime’s imminent fall in central Sirte, Moamer Kadhafi’s home town, on October 20, 2011, the photographer had headed west where fighting still raged. Nervous rebels racing “like madmen” gave him a lift on their pick-up truck before a male nurse about whom he had done a story a couple of days earlier took him to his final destination in the western Sirte suburbs. Below the road he suddenly saw two large concrete pipes in a dry river bed, & on the ground corpses of Kadhafi’s bodyguards, some with their faces painted blue. “One of them had an arm dislocated, the other his throat slit,” Desmazes, 51, recalls. “Then suddenly I saw over a dozen people pushing & shoving, all trying to see the same thing. Out of curiosity I went too — almost didn’t,” he admits. “The group moved, kept pushing, & I couldn’t see a thing. I thought they had recovered an object. I did have Kadhafi on my mind but of course I wasn’t sure.” But then there were shouts of “Kadhafi, Kadhafi” & people pointing to the concrete pipes which turned out to be the dictator’s last hiding place. ”People were kneeling. I pulled a man by the shoulder so I could take his place,” Desmazes continues. “Then I saw this man in the middle of the group with one of those old battered mobile phones”, showing a brief video where one could “hardly see a thing because the camera had moved too fast”. “Suddenly I recognised Kadhafi but only very briefly,” he said. Desmazes asked the man with the mobile phone to show the pictures again. “I took four photos of Kadhafi from the video. Two were good,” in spite of the extreme brightness & the speed at which the scene had been captured, Desmazes recalls. Wearing a bulletproof vest moreover hampered his moves. Desmazes asked the man with the mobile phone to show the pictures again Practically sure that the video showing Kadhafi with his face covered in blood was real, Desmazes went to Sirte’s main hospital to find out more about the wounded. “At that moment, I had no idea how significant the photo was as it meant that Kadhafi had been captured. “If there had been photographers at the time of his arrest, my picture would have been worthless,” he says a year after the incident when he was cut off from the rest of the world after his satellite phone broke down. Only later that same afternoon of October 20, after shooting more pictures, including one showing a young rebel brandishing Kadhafi’s golden gun, Desmazes could finally send his historic photo which was published by AFP after further verification. “I only realised that night how significant the picture was when I opened my emails at the hotel. I had more than 200 messages,” says Desmazes. The next day he took a picture of Kadhafi’s body in the cold storage room of a greengrocer in the western city of Misrata. To this day, Desmazes wonders about the “mystery” surrounding the dictator’s death: was he killed in fierce crossfire during his arrest as Libya’s new authorities claim? Or did rebels capture him alive as some media & witnesses argue? On Tuesday Human Rights Watch said it had new evidence implicating militias in executions after Kadhafi’s capture & killing. HRW said it had collected mobile phone video clips taken by anti-Kadhafi fighters showing that the dictator was captured alive but bleeding heavily from a head wound. In the footage, he is severely beaten by rebels & appears to be stabbed with a bayonet in his buttocks. Kadhafi, who ruled Libya since 1969, had been on the run after his Tripoli headquarters at Bab al-Aziziya was overrun by rebel forces on August 23, 2011. After that date & until his recorded death he was repeatedly rumoured to have died along with several of his sons. Three days after his death Libya’s transitional authorities proclaimed the country “liberated”.

Of course this proves nothing other than he does have a happy knack of turning up to momentous death scenes with Arab connections. There is also similar script of “stumbling on the scene” (Yea well if you believe that ….) And please note significantly that he had a SATELLITE PHONE. I wonder if he still had it in Annecy?
Do you think it might be the same one Shelock H.

Tim,
“…Colin Powell leaves after giving his speech 04 September 2002…”
“…From this it appears he was in S Africa on the 4 th Sept (one day before the killings in Annecy)…”
Must be getting late where you are, you seem to have mislaid ten years!
But Desmazes does seem to have a habit of being in the right place at the right time.
Have been following from almost day 1 and it has been gripping, better than reading a novel. I’m now an addict! Like others on the thread i felt something pretty big had happened when I first heard the news. I can’t remember being so struck by some news event like that before. Murders of British nationals abroad are not unknown after all. I had a French guy staying with us at the time and he was very surprised by our level of interest and said if it had been a French family murdered abroad the news would not make the front pages. I wrote to a French doctor I know who works in Annecy and asked him what he thought about it and he answered ‘I have no idea about the murder. Actually, I am not very interseted in.’ it is strange how we on this thread can’t let go of this but the facts you have all been so busy uncovering make it very compelling stuff, even down to the cow with a bullet in it’s head! (or did I dream that?)
Was very interested to go past March Court in Putney the other day, went in there once many years ago when selling a property there when I worked for an estate agency.
Sorry I can’t shed any light on the situation myself, but just wanted to say hello!
What a coincidence and what a sudden success for ZOA!
Former US ambassador (MALI!) and also UNO representative for the Blood Diamonds Kimberley process Gillian Milovanovic announced the end of UNO control and end of trade boycott regarding the blood diamonds of Zimbabwe. Ari ben Menashe won and Israel now is in charge of the Zimbabwe blood diamonds to finance the upcoming war. The second important diamond mining country Sierra Leone is in control of Mr. Porter. Israel now is in control of most diamond mines and trade is free since dec 1st. What a coincidence. What else will happen as a war financing preparation??
Morning Bluebird, I have to tell you that ‘Israel’ has always been in charge of diamonds & diamond trading, Debeers & Rothschilds virtually invented the diamond value,’a diamond is forever’ etc, it’s been the best PR ever.
The whole market has been manipulated for generations & is one of the dirtiest businesses on the planet.
The US government couldn’t manage without it.
Once you’ve read this book you will see just how so many countries are involved, how the author was intimidated & threatened during her investigation.
The film ‘Blood Diamonds ‘ didn’t even dare scratch the surface of this.
Now that the Russians can do ‘manmade’ diamonds, which even expert gemologists find difficult to identify from natural diamonds, there is a huge upset.

@Tim
The business listings are still there I didn’t look for anything else this PD is an electrician and Didierjean seems to be a common name around the Nancy area there are lots listed I am sure it was searched for before ages ago either here or Icke I seem to remember the PD who is parkeeper being mentioned before his name is Pierre though.
http://societe.lesclesdumidi.com/annuaire-154633.html
Looking again today there does seem to be variations on the name like Didier-jean and I have seen a martin added on as well ,there is a musician with the name who seems to have links to the surname Martin if you search various options come up I won’t link things as these people are probably just innocent people with the same names and its not fair to link them but a bit of creative searching should find links you can explore.
Just to keep in here, though I can’t think of anything to add to the Chevaline murders at the moment, there’s this from the Daily Mail about missiles shooting superpowerful microwave beams to destroy the enemy’s electronics. From Boeing – already tested. Luckily, doesn’t affect humans at all – no frazzled or frizzled brains – so no collateral damage.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2241525/The-Boeing-blitzing-drone-cripple-nations-electronics.html
Interesting NR Mr Keshe says iran can do something like that its probably a case of my weapons better than your weapon ,I will look up what he said .
Bluebird, the more I think about ‘Ikbal’ the more I think that was an assumed name or even a stolen name,I know you’ve looked into the family, but these two women are not who they are supposed to be.
We know anyone close to Saddam, apart from his daughters, fled & changed their ID, I can’t help thinking Igbal is Samira……around whom there was so much jealousy, her age would fit.
She also would know too much about the Saddam regime & henchmen.
Saddam married her in ’86, looking at the photo I’d say she was around 19 or even younger then, she left him in 2003.
All these ages are guess work but this is possible.
Googling her brings up very little.

Russia recently declassified their discovery in 1970s of “trillions of carats” of diamonds in a meteor crater.
The celebrities who get upset over wearing Blood Diamonds never show concern over snorting Blood Cocaine.

Yes & the Russians have technology to ‘create’ diamonds too & I don’t mean Zircon stones, inevitably this will bring down the artificial value of natural stones, created by De Beers.
Sorry , that comment was for you NR.
I agree about the stars & others not caring about the background of these products, many will not have a clue about how so much comes to the market.
Thank goodness things are changing & for investigative journalism ….. may Leveson not damage it !

You’ll find there is some debate about the Philippe Desmazes photograph in Libya.

2 Dec, 2012 – 9:18 am – Astute as always.
Tim,
I only double checked the date because I thought “what is Colin Powell doing making a comeback?” AFAIK he has now sunk into obscurity (probably helped by being made to look an idiot over WMD).
I might be interesting to know where Desmazes was working immediately before 5th Sept. He obviously went to Syria soon after. I take it you are thinking that he had a tip off that there might be something of interest in the area?
“He said: “There wasn’t a single sound. It was like in a film. One of those television series where everything begins with a murder, only this time we were the actors and we did not have the remote control to change the channel.
“I immediately understood.”
The walker said he had seen no one as he drove up through the forest and that the killer or killers could have escaped using a winding lane which leads directly to the motorway.” “Philippe D. – Sky. 12.9.12”
He was familiar with the area then?
Bleb
2 Dec, 2012 – 1:20 pm Yup that was where I was going. That and other’s suggestion that “Philippe D.” later “Didierjean” might actually have been Demazes. Photographers have always lived off tip-offs if they are to get the early exclusive. No doubt (as we have seen with Levenson) the relationship is a mutual one. However as far as I can see Demazes didn’t get any early (5.9.12) shots. Of course as always I am happy to stand corrected.
