The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

10 Jan, 2013 – 8:14 am and your ref. there: If this is OUR Sylvain Mollier, and he would be qualified on two counts – over twenty years in nuclear related industry and evidence of trade union/political activism in both him and his father, we have evidence here he took more than a passing interest in nuclear matters that ironically might lean towards umanitarian concern with a left wing bias. He’s here shown to be responsible for the minutes or reporting on the AGM of CRIIRAD. I think there was some discussion on this individual in the past and it was decided it was a different person. Am I right? Otherwise it would certainly make sense. BB is there any way of settling the matter?

What is truly strange, which others have previously noted, unlike most all murders, no pictures have immerged of SM or SAH’s wife or mother in law. One can understand the children being embargoed – but the victims, why? Apart from anything else its one of police basics early on to enable the tracing of the victims movements following appeal to the public. It took weeks for the French to issue an appeal and then without the photographs!
@Straw44berry 4:58 p.m.: American UAVs surveiled the Daiichi nuclear plant after the earthquake and tsunami. How long would it have taken to get one in the air from a nearby base (Guam, for example)? One of the Senkaku islands is used as a target for aerial bombing by the U.S., who rent it for that purpose.

10 Jan, 2013 – 10:29 am I’m still catching up on posts
Thanks for all the digging today, everyone, and to Bluebird for all those links. I’ll be busy reading.
Tim, 7:27PM – the lack of pictures is something that I keep harping on as well. Not putting them out is the strongest evidence that we are not dealing with a “normal” murder scene or a psycho lone killer. Three people with zero pictures and a scrubbed clean internet record. We know nothing about Iqbal other than the basics (dentist, Dubai, etc.). Same with Suhaila. This cannot be an accident that there just happen to be three people without any photos. Nothing from family trying to generate sympathy and accelerate the slow wheels of justice. If they are indeed all dead (notice the “if”) and only Saad and Sylvain were agents, why no pictures of the ladies?
The absence of photos is also one key reason I am reluctant to dispense with the extraction scenario because that would be explainable then. It is unfortunate that other elements mitigate against the extraction idea such as why so complicated and how do the children fit in (those are really the two main issues).
One last thing regarding photos: we do have those three photos of Saad (or is it just 2?). Why him and not the women? again, I don’t think that the fact we have those public pictures and that there are only those few of Saad is a coincidence either. My inclination is to use that as another clue.
Iran’s stake in Rössing uranium mine
Namibian government willing to take over Iran’s shares in Rössing Uranium
A high-level Namibian delegation led by Foreign Affairs Minister Utoni Nujoma met its Iranian counterparts in Tehran in December to discuss Rössing Uranium’s full compliance with the United Nations sanctions against companies in which the Iranian Foreign Investment Company (IFIC) has shares. During that visit the two governments agreed that legal and technical teams from both countries would meet in Namibia as a matter of urgency to discuss and finalise the details of the draft agreement. “We are still waiting for the Iranian team to visit Namibia and reminded them again about three weeks ago,” Mines and Energy Minister Isak Katali told The Namibian this week.
Katali shed more light on the proposal, indicating that Government also wants to have an interest in Rössing Uranium. “Government [through Epangelo Mining ] is willing to take over the Iranian shares but we can only do it if they agree to it.” In terms of the proposed agreement the Namibian government, if Iran agrees, will take over in trust all future acquisitions and or investments in Rössing Uranium for the duration of UN Security Council sanctions. (The Namibian Apr. 18, 2012)
Iran’s stake in Rössing uranium mine causing headaches in view of U.N. sanctions
A Namibian uranium mine majority-owned by Anglo-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto said it is considering what to do with a stake held by the Iranian government in light of the latest U.N. sanctions. Since 1975 Iran has owned a 15 percent stake in the Rössing Uranium Mine.
U.N. Security Council resolution 1929 , adopted in June, bans the sale of any stakes in uranium mines to Iran, as well as shares in any commercial operations linked to the production of nuclear materials or technology. It also says that “all states shall prohibit such investment.” Council diplomats told Reuters that the latest steps clearly ban the sale of new stakes to Iran but are less clear on whether any previously held Iranian stakes in uranium mines or other nuclear-related operations should be divested.
“Rössing Uranium Limited is in consultation with the Government of Namibia to find a solution to deal with the U.N. Resolution requirements and chart the way forward,” Jerome Mutumba, manager for corporate communications and external relations, said in a letter to Reuters dated on Friday (Oct. 15). (The Namibian Oct. 19, 2010)
In a statement dated Nov. 4, 2010, Rio Tinto declared it is its position “that it believes to be complying with the current United Nations requirements.”
U.S. concerned about trafficking of uranium mined at Rössing
The White House force to prevent nuclear and radiological materials from falling into the wrong hands, the Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI), has told Rio Tinto Rössing Uranium to sharpen its security measures following the arrest last September of three suspects, one a Namibian Defence Force (NDF) member, for possessing and allegedly wanting to deal in nearly 170 kg of uranium oxide.
The US follows Rössing Uranium, in which the government of Iran owns 15 per cent of the shares, with a keen eye. (Namibian Feb. 3, 2010)
> See also: Police seizes 170 kg of stolen uranium
http://www.wise-uranium.org/umoproe.html
WIKIPEDIA: The Rössing Uranium Mine in Namibia is one of the largest open pit uranium mines in the world and is located in the Namib Desert near the town of Arandis, which is 70 kilometres from the coastal town of Swakopmund. Namibia’s only deepwater harbour, Walvis Bay, is 30 kilometres south of Swakopmund. Discovered in 1928, the Rössing mine started operations in 1976 and, in 2005, produced 3,711 tonnes of uranium oxide, becoming the fifth-largest uranium mine with 8 per cent of global output. Namibia is the world’s fourth-largest exporter of uranium.[1]
In the apartheid era, the Rössing uranium mine was the focus for international criticism and protests by anti-apartheid and anti-nuclear groups, mainly in Europe.[2] Recent reports that Rössing’s uranium might be diverted to Iran, which owns 15% of the shares in the mine, have been denied by the mine’s management.[3]
Pink 7:27AM – I agree with Tim that’s it’s interesting to read this old article, especially in light of the information we have now. It could be that the DA notice took a while to make its way around, so the speculations were still permitted.
That’s why I found that october Sun article so interesting as well. It’s from october apparently but had quite a bit of information that I didn’t remember seeing later. That was the article where it emerged that Sylvain was shot first, and the reporter seemed quite certain about it. Just because EM tried to scrub that later, doesn’t mean it turned out to be false. rather it means they absolutely did not want the public to know SM could have been a primary target.
I also noted a few other items mentioned in the Sun – including the point Tim refers to – that the killers may have been “lying in wait”. Such speculations have entirely disappeared from later accounts.
I think what I would want to do. had I had the time, is to go through all the items that were there in the earlier accounts (including reporters’ speculations) that were later denied, fogged over or just plain “disappeared”. This would be kind of a timeline “progression of the facts”. It would take quite a while though as i’d have to plow through quite a bit, and don’t have the time just now. I am however quite sure that a clear pattern will emerge not about the ‘story” as it is or was but about the story they don’t want. That should help narrow the questions to those that are/were most significant for the cover-up. We already know one of those – the disappeared 25-30 min time gap between SAH actual and officially desired arrival time. But there are quite a few others, many of which Tim V brought up several times. It would just be nice to have a summary of those key details in one place.
WITHOUT MUCH THOUGHT (always dangerous) could the CRIIRAD nuclear issue be the connection we have been looking for between SM and SAH (and be a reason to disrupt the meeting) Could SAH be transferring satellite derive info on radiation contamination in africa in which Areva has an interest and been criticised as well as Iran. That could be a justification for French intervention maybe to stop the information getting into CRIIRAD’S HANDS. Only brainstorming.

10 Jan, 2013 – 11:01 am You have got there first BB. This massive explosion in Bagdad almost certainly contained depleted uranium. It possibly/probably? contained tactical (battlefield) nuclear weapons! If Al Hilli through both contact and satellite source imagery had information about radiological contamination, would this be earth shattering enough to require the passage to NIIRAD to be prevented/information removed? Somehow I have a feeling we are getting warmer.
In January 2008, 16 months had passed after the Baghdad event. The whole affair had never existed for Western opinion, not even for the “nuclear disarmament specialists”.
Bruno Chareyron then suggested interviewing some eye-witnesses, some former soldiers. That is what we had already done by internet. During our investigation, in fact, some US veterans who had been at Forward Base Falcon sent us their testimonies through a reliable friend. They spoke briefly – not elaborating, since they were afraid – but categorically: yes, there were indeed Depleted Uranium weapons stocked there, and they did explode. That probably explains the flaming brands that can be seen spurting up in the videos of some explosions. That explains above all the haste in which the terrain where the fire had raged was completely cleared and raked.
Since that time two vast zones of the base, scraped down to the substratum, one in the south, the other in the north (this one in particular, being the site of the major explosions), have stayed definitively empty. Today, two and a half years later, the denuded subsoil of Forward Base Falcon still shows as a white spot on the satellite images accessible on GoogleEarth.

Study of the 22 bullets found in the bodies and other forensic evidence suggests that a local cyclist, Sylvain Mollier, was the first to be attacked by what investigators are convinced was a single gunman.
IF as I continue to be convinced this was a state sanctioned/implimented assassination and IF we believe the French authorities have at the least frustrated the identification of the perpetrators, there is also a chance that their interests are considered to coalesce. Instances of radiological accidents/checanery/Iranian tactics where both France and another state could be embarrassed, increases the chances of them colluding.

Gradually the enormity of the devastation created by primarily America, with a little help from its friends, is beginning to seep out. The nations that paraded their “success” are much less vocal about the unmitigated mess they have left behind.
“Othman said Iraq’s environmental degradation is being intensified by an acute drought and water shortage across the country that has seen a 70% decrease in the volume of water flowing through the Euphrates and Tigris rivers.
“We can no longer in good conscience call ourselves the land between the rivers,” she said. “A lot of the water we are getting has first been used by Turkey and Syria for power generation. When it reaches us it is poor quality. That water which is used for agriculture is often contaminated. We are in the midst of an unmatched environmental disaster.”
France is becoming a very popular place to settle Middle East conflict.

Recall at one point we had SM or his father linked to LaRouche’s S&P party.
This is on Lyndon LaRouche’s grand scheme to irrigate the deserts from North Africa through to China. It includes nuclear power for desalination but says nothing of his old proposal to use nukes for digging canals and tunnels. Sounds altogether reasonable, but enormously expensive.

Yes, i believe that this is getting warmer. When we would just know the reason. It’s pretty hard because they are making it tough for us.
There is a new Sylvain Mollier facebook page with a young Sylvain who really exists North of Annecy. I bet my bird heart that this facebook page did not exist in september or we would have found it. This young guy does exist. Leo?
http://m.facebook.com/rasta.des.montagnes?id=1319973720&_rdr
And this Sylvain Mollier exists.
http://www.poisy.org/page-2649.html
Could anybody verify the pictures whether or not this is Leo?
sorensen is good in picture verification. I certainly know that this fb page did not exist before or we would have seen it before.
The linkedin page of the young Sylvain Mollier from Valence disappeared. There is a big mess (deliberately?) made up with Sylvain Molliers on the www. This is not normal. This is unusual. They are making it tough for us. The Sylvain Molliers appear and disappear like Hobbits.
What can I say Marlin
10 Jan, 2013 – 8:03 pm but agree. One of these days I am going to sit back and take a long hard look at what we have got. But in the meantime there must be at least ONE genuine journo out there in a position to press either the British or French police (or both) with some penetrating questions about what they have said and done?
Now briefly back on an old topic of cyclists and timing, have you and every one else, thought through an aspect that even I failed to to highlight?
For arguments sake lets accept the 3.30 shots heard by at least three fairly reliable witnesses (there may have been more). This means, obviously that all were dead by 3.30 or there abouts. We know that Mollier whad dismounted and was standing in close proximity to SAH and ZainabAH. If that was his cap on the dash, he may even have been in the car momentarily. But even if he hadn’t this business of arriving, dismounting and meeting up would have taken a few minutes at least and we need to factor in a slight time delay for the attacking approach. In an open environment like that, attackers son’t just appear, they have to either arrive or be there and move in. This would presumably be triggered at the point they saw the three of them together. So we have to run these events backwards from the sound of shots, which themselves of course are subject to a time delay. So if the witnesses heard them at 3.30 Mollier MUST have arrived at Martinet not later than 2.25 at the outside. Now here comes the tricky bit. Martin suggests the ride up from the village took half an hour. No journalist or local appears to disagree with that estimate. It approximates to about 5mph or maybe a little more. Martin was no slouch but it is all up hill so perhaps its reasonable. Mollier was said initially to have overtaken him about half way up initially. This was later changed for whatever reason to the beginning of the climb so for arguments sake lets accept the latter. Mollier cannot arrive at the latest by 3.25. If he went at the same speed as Martin and took half an hour he would have had to start it at 2.55 but he “overtakes” so he’s going faster. If he goes 50% faster his journey time will be reduced to 20mins. This would give his start/overtake time at the bottom at 3.05 and by extension Martin’s arrival time at 3.35. The further up the hill he over takes the smaller the gap in the arrival time of the two. Both were serios riders. I can’t see Martin dawdling. The gap is also reduced if Martin went faster. Either way Martin has to be on scene almost immediately after the event and earlier certainly by 4 00 initially reported, or the 3.48 call time, or the 3.45 later stated. If the shot time time is accurate, everything else follows.
Agreed Marlin
10 Jan, 2013 – 8:17 pm I have thought the same. One of the most glaring of course was Maillauds reported opinion the that this had all the hallmarks of a “professional killing” which somehow morphed with time to a lone crazed individual.
Similarly initial reports of a 4×4 were explained away and vehicle descriptions confused until we presume the lone crazed individual was either on foot or at best on a motor cycle.
The “green 4×4 with British registration somehow morphed into a black Mitsobishi Pajero and the greem 4×4 became a forestry vehicle. Yet absolutely no explanation why the forestry vehicle was there at the very time of the shooting or that its occupants incredibly saw or heard anything.
Then he asks us to believe these same forestry employees, who have it appears a high rate of suicides, and a quasi policing role within the reserve, stopped and spoke to a motorcyclist who was riding illegally there, but didn’t bother to take name, address or bike registration or look into those poaching panniers.
And I haven’t even mentioned how a small white Peugeot 306 morphed into a white Peugeot Four Wheel Drive.
My suggestion that the tracks/gouges could be related to a remote bomb disposal vehicle got no reaction.
But could you please agree whether these could or couldnt have caused those marks.

Unless some brave sould stuck his head in…and didn’t fear an explosion!
A vehicle like that is transported in a special carrier.
It could be transfered to another vehicle of course.
This leaves a time gap of “from X to Y”.
And there were reporters all over the place by the time it would have arrived.
Of course it could happen. Then again the cleaning vehicle with it small squat tyres and cleaning equipment attached to it COULD also have made those marks
