The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

Jenny Samantha el Hilli is born in June 1975 as Jenny Samantha Melville in Newham (greater London). Her mothers maiden name is Virgoe.
Apparently there was also a twin sister who got the name Jenny Heather Melville.
I did not find anything on Issam el Hilly (Hilli) yet except his profession index.
This will take some time.
Basically el Hilli or al Hilli could be both the same (wider) family.
El and Al is the same word and this is not part of the official name.
When they live in Northern Africa, then they will use El Hilli. When they live in Middle East then they will say Al Hilli. When they live in the USA, then they would just say that their surname is Hilli.
Q

Jenny Melville (el Hilli) is working for that company:
She is directly connected with Issam el Hilli on linkedin.
Her mother’s name is Pamela A. Virgoe (Melville). She married in 1967 in the UK into the Melville family.
There is a famous John Virgoe in Australia with British roots (brother?) working for UK and UNO, however, so far i could not find a 100% relation between her (Pamela) and John Virgoe.
I think that i fail to find more for Issam el Hilli than you already did. He was born in 1953 but there are no new relations i was able to find by now. So far there is nothing useful on the el Hilli track that i could provide.
Thanks, Bluebird. Interesting about the surnames.

You would think by now, without prejudicing the enquiry, the French would have produced the definitive and truthful timeline as they have it including all known traffic movements in the vicinity. From their wider appeals and interviews this should include all known villagers and visitors. So that even they still cannot be sure of the perpetrators vehicles and movements (unlikely) by a process of elimination they could pin down times and routes. They have said nothing about the forestry vehicle they allege passed by. This is specific timed observation that they could make public. They say they have traced and excluded the driver of the white Peugeot 206/306. So where was he coming from, where was he going and why was he driving so dangerously? They could also say why they previously stated they were looking for a Mitsubishi Pajero. They could have done this months ago that may have led to public help in identifying vehicles. This is bog standard policing. And why take EIGHT MONTHS to issue an appeal for a RHD BMW.? Isn’t the public owed explanation and apology if they are not to lose confidence in French police and French state?
Tim
Of course the French must have a time line.
We do not know whether or not their camera had tge correct time. They know of course.
I must admit that my camera never has the correct time. I dont change between summer and winter time and i dont change the time zone when i would e.g. travel from the UK to France. Therefore the time on my camera is always incorrect.
Howevee, the French have tjat camera and they know whether or not the time on that camera was a correct french time.
In fact we do know nothing except for their press releases and we know that we should be suspicious about what they are telling us. Personally i believe that there arent sufficient trusted data available for us for creating a sane time line here.

And I’m back !
Without getting into all the “timeline” business.
Or he did this, so they must be that.
And without any assumptions and counter assumptions.
ONE question springs to mind.
For what purpose did the French/British police investigation teams WITHHOLD the fact that the vehicle seen on the Combe D’Ire WAS a RHD BMW 4×4 ?
If (I should say “IF”) this information with regard to the BMW 4×4 came from Martin, then he MUST have been requested to withhold this fact in the television interview he gave.
The information may have indeed have come from Didierjean of course and the hasn’t been any “from the horses mouth” interview from that source.
What is significant about the “withholding” of information ?
Michael McGurk’s two closest confidants, who were last week named as part of an investigation into an alleged $150 million mortgage fraud, have colourful histories of their own.

Mr Reddy and Mr Sarina worked for Mr McGurk’s company Bentley Smythe. They met him just hours before he was executed, allegedly by two hitmen, in September last year.
Mr Reddy is believed to be on the run because he allegedly owes $150,000 to a group of Lebanese gangsters from Bankstown, sources in the finance industry say.
Lebanese gangsters?
Those are the business friends of Mr. El Hilli:
Mr Reddy and Mr Sarina worked for Mr McGurk’s company Bentley Smythe. They met him just hours before he was executed, allegedly by two hitmen, in September last year.
Hmmmm … assassinated last september? Timely coincidence?

You could well be on the right track here.
Timely coincidence indeed, Bluebird, but credit for the El-Hilli/Virgoe discovery must go to Tim V on May 12.
BTW, one of the stories put forward by a site with its own agenda (Sor… F…) stated at the beginning that Saad al-Hilli had secret documents. This site also claimed something was done to alter data about pole shifts, and that SSTL was involved.
“Prosecutors allege neither of the loans were paid to the developers and that El-Hilli and Melville fled the country with the money. After suspecting El-Hilli had fled to Syria, Middle East investigators eventually extradited him from the UK. Mr Premutico told the Supreme Court that El-Hilli was unaware he was wanted by police and that it took investigators more than a year to file the charges at Central Local Court. A British security source suggests as motive “state-sponsored assassination, rather than a family dispute”. (The Independent) (Het Laatste Nieuws) (The Week)”
This was the Independent report of the 24th Oct 2012. It’s worth reading just to see how “facts” have changed. Here WBM arrives “soon after 4”. That’s half an hour after we now know it to be. SM “dragged” and “arranged” “presumably by the killer”! WBM overtaken by SM “only a few moments earlier”. Now at the bottom of the climb. WBM sees a “green truck and motorcycle DESCENDING the mountain road” now a dark BMW X5 going up. The gun is described as a Luger Po8 yet only a few days later a Luger Po6. And then it is claimed the Ms al Allaf’s photo shows them “AN HOUR” before the killings. With the killings at 3.30 that would make the photo 2.30 pm which would actually fit the time line BUT OF COURSE it is not the 3.15 time the police pointedly announced. I will paste most of the article so you can check it out for yourselves.
“Meanwhile, the “known knowns” of the Annecy mystery – those things which have been officially confirmed and those things which have been reliably reported and not officially denied – offer some insight into the last hours of the four victims.
Soon after 4pm on Wednesday 5 September, a British cyclist found a scene of unbelievable butchery on a remote lay-bay on a forest road above the village of Chevaline. Saad al-Hilli, 50, an Iraqi-born engineer, his wife, Iqbal, 47, and her mother Suhaila al-Allaf, 74, who had been caravanning nearby, had been shot repeatedly in their wine-coloured BMW estate car.
A local man, Sylvan Mollier, 45, lay dead beside the car. His body had been dragged from where he was originally attacked and his arms arranged by his sides, presumably by the murderer.
Seven year-old Zainab al-Hilli was found alive outside the car, beaten savagely about the head and face, and wounded by a gunshot in her shoulder. Her sister, Zeena, aged 4, was found eight hours later, unharmed but terrified, hiding under her dead mother’s legs.
The British cyclist, Brett Martin, a retired RAF pilot, had been overtaken by the local cyclist, Mr Mollier, on the steep, winding climb to the lay-by a few minutes earlier. When Mr Martin arrived, the engine of the BMW was still running and the car was spinning its wheels and reversing against a steep wooded embankment.
A preliminary ballistic and forensic report, leaked last week, found that only one gun was used, a 7.65 mm automatic. French media say that this was a Luger P08 – an old-fashioned gun not used by professional killer – but this has not been officially confirmed.
Contrary to an initial leak from the ballistic report, the prosecutor Mr Maillaud says that that there is no scientific way of knowing whether the cyclist, Mr Mollier, was the first to die. Mr Maillaud has, however, not denied the rest of the report.
Studies of the shoes of the victims suggest that Mr al-Hilli was outside the car when first menaced by the killer. The report also speaks of “disorganised behaviour” by a gunman “going from victim to victim and then back again to finish them off.” The experts conclude that this behaviour was “not compatible with the profile of a professional killer”.
The British cyclist, Mr Martin, saw a green truck and motorcycle descending the bumpy road from the murder scene. The truck is believed to have belonged the forestry commission. There are eye-witness reports that a motorcyclist was behaving oddly on a remote road nearby that afternoon.
Photographs found in Ms al-Allaf’s camera show the al-Hilli family grinning happily in the next village an hour before the murders. They did not appear to be worried or behaving as if they were on their way to a pre-arranged meeting in the mountains. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/special-report-what-links-dianas-death-to-the-murders-in-annecy-a-french-judicial-process-that-lets-conspiracy-theories-flourish-8223361.html
However I can’t find any press reference to the UK extradition of El Hilli/Melville. High profile case you would think it would be. Was it hushed up?

“It was only after Reagan had finished his terms in office that one learned just how entrenched in the covert government in Washington agents of the Iranian Republic had been in the Contras’ drug connection. The delay had been somewhat caused by the shooting down of an Iranian Airbus on July 3, 1988 by the American guided-missile cruiser USS Vincennes, and the Iranians arranging for Syrian arms deal Monzar Al-Kassar to retaliate by bringing down Pan Am Flight 103. The shooting down of Iran Air Flight 65, killing 290 crew and passengers, was clearly the result of Captain William C. Rogers’ aggressiveness where his ship was in Iranian waters, and mistook the climbing airliner on its way to Dubai for an F-14 Tomcat fighter, coming down in an attack. The incident, while Washington neither admitted responsibility for it nor apologized to Tehran for the accident, paved the way for the Reagan administration agreeing to a ceasefire in the Gulf War.
The shooting down of the Pan Am flight just before Christma in 1988 was the result of part of the Agnecy, known as CIA-1 in Frankfurt, which wanted arms dealer Al-Kassar to help it secure the release of more hostages in return for continuing his drug-smuggling operations while another team, under the leadership of Charles McKee, had come to Beirut in the hope, it seems, of finally retrieving CIA station chief William Buckley through a rescue mission. When the McKee team learned of Al-Kassar’s activites, and that they were protected by higher-ups back in Washington, he moved to stop it when they returned to Langley. “The McKee team was in the dark and way out in the cold.” (22) “Semtex” was mixed by higher ups into Al-Kassar’s usual shipment of drugs, and it was allowed to get on a plane going to London when a control in Washington said that the suitcase was okay. The Pan Am flight exploded prematurely over Lockerbie, Scotland, and, as expected, the Libyans were made the fallguys for the tragedy.(23)” http://www.thelocal.se/discuss/index.php?showtopic=39867#.UZIz8LWURsA
The primary reason for the cover-up was that the Contras were involved in drug-smuggling, and arms dealers connected to the Iranian Republic, not only Al-Kassar but also Ghorbanifar and Sadeg Tabatabai, were deeply integrated into it, showing that the Iran-Contra was not just a clever rip-off of Tehran. Al-Kassar’s brother-in-law was Syria’s intelligence chief, and a lover of a neice of dictator Hafez Al-Assad, an ally of the Iranians during the Gulf War. Tabatabai – brother-in-law of Khomeini’s son Seyyed Achmed, and Deputy Prime Minister of the last government, Medhi Bazargan’s, under the Shah – was the chief negotiator for the mullahs in arranging the completion of the stalled “October Surprise” – the freeing up of its $7.9 billion deposited in American banks – just hours before Reagan became President, and the American Embassy hostages were released.(24) These fellows were deeply involved not only with North’s Enterprize operation but also the Medellín Cartel. The failure of the press to report it, and John Kerry’s Senate Subcommittee on Terrorism; Narcotics, and International Operations to properly investigate it over three years, especially Al-Kassar’s activites, was what induced Peter Dale Scott and Jonathan Marshall to write Cocaine Politics: Drugs, Armies, and the CIA in Central America. http://www.thelocal.se/discuss/index.php?showtopic=39867#.UZIz8LWURsA
As for who actually killed Ali Reza, the most likely candidate is agents of NSA’s Special Collection Service (SCS) which took over the Agency’s *Executive Action’ program after details of William King Harvey’s project ZR/RFILE in Division D were exposed by the Church Committee. “The SCS is headquartered in a heavily protected compound of modern buildings on Springfield Road in Beltsville, Maryland, a few miles south of NSA.”(35) While both Harvey and his successors have stressed the need for information technology, procurement, and sources, they are not beyond murder if it comes necessary to promote aims, or restrict blowback, as Harveuy’s expansion of Task Force W in the anti-Castro mission demonstrated when it attempted to kill him in all kinds of ways.(36) The SCS seems to have a track record in such killings too with the unsolved murders of Tina Ricca when the NRO was setting up its new headquarters without congressional authority, and the unsolved one of Gareth Williams when he was apparently revealing NSA’s sources, procurement technology, and information in the Afghan War for Assange’s Wikileaks.
Some allied service, especially Israel’s Mossad as a parting gift for Director Meir Dagan, could have done it as a favor for Washington, but this seems much less likely. The fact that someone did is best illustrated by the Boston police being even less interested in determining how this resident exile died than the authorities in Delaware with Wheeler, especially when first account of the death reported that Ali Reza’s girl friend had called at 2 a. m. on January 4th to report that her boy friend had just died from a self-inflicted wound to the head. The police settled for that, though the decased had no girl friend at the time. She had died most unexpectely in a scuba diving accident two years earlier.
Reminds me of Jörg Haider’s last moments when a woman called in, stating that she had seen him driving off the road, and would be coming in to give evidence about it. She never came: Ali Reza’s killer, never had to. http://www.thelocal.se/discuss/index.php?showtopic=39867#.UZIz8LWURsA
The above are extracts from a piece by Trowbridge H Ford, a former US army intelligence agent now living in Stockholm, among other bloggers, theorizes that Palme, as the UN mediator seeking an end to the Iran-Iraq war, was assassinated because he fell afoul of Iran-Contra. He also argues it was a MI6 man who did the deed. The Al Hilli/Al Saffar, Britain/Swedish links have hardly been explored and no one has explained the absence of Swedish investigation into the murder of one of its nationals. Early on he posted here but we haven’t seen or heard from him for months. Anyone aware where he went? As is this:-
“As for who actually killed Ali Reza, the most likely candidate is agents of NSA’s Special Collection Service (SCS) which took over the Agency’s *Executive Action’ program after details of William King Harvey’s project ZR/RFILE in Division D were exposed by the Church Committee.

“According to James Bamford, NSA/CSS was initially conceived as a separate “fourth service” beside the three U.S. armed services. The latter three resisted this idea, and therefore the CSS was founded as an inter-service organization. The day-to-day work of the CSS is to capture enemy signals (radar, telemetry, radio/satellite communications) using the means of the involved service. For example, the Navy has special submarines for tapping undersea cables; the Air Force operates aircraft with sophisticated antennas and processing gear to listen to enemy radar and radio; and on the ground, the Army operates similar eavesdropping equipment.[2]
Special Collections Service [edit]
The Special Collections Service (SCS) is a group within the Central Security Service[citation needed] that is not officially recognized. Its purpose is to put sophisticated eavesdropping equipment- from bugs to parabolic antennas- in difficult-to-reach places. It also attempts to target for recruitment key foreign communications personnel such as database managers, systems administrators, and IT specialists.[3]
The Central Security Service was established by Presidential Directive in 1972 to promote full partnership between the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Service Cryptologic Elements (SCE) of the United States Armed Forces. The SCS facility is located in Beltsville, Maryland.[4]
The specialized intelligence gathering capabilities of the Special Collections Service include:
Clandestine operations involving surveillance and penetration of target facilities, including “black bag” style operations.[citation needed]
Cryptographic side channel and key recovery attacks involving EMSEC and COMSEC specialties.[citation needed]
Covert communication capture and relay of target information.[citation needed]
Operation of unmanned aerial vehicles for surveillance and perimeter penetration.[citation needed]
The combination of Central Intelligence Agency and National Security Agency resources are used to cover the requisite speciality skills tasked of this agency into a single clandestine intelligence organization that falls under director of NSA and secretary of defense oversight. Given the nature of post 9/11 counter terrorism strategies employed by the United States of America the operations of the Special Collections Service have experienced significant growth in scale and complexity.”

“Le Monde, February 23, 2000
A Secret Alliance Between the CIA and the NSA
Updated Tuesday February 22, 2000
In the United States, the NSA and the CIA have created a common agency, named Special Collection Service (SCS), whose activities are highly secret and whose role is to give to Americans, in all clandestinity, information on new means to overcome the difficulties encountered by interception operations caused by progress in encryption for protection of world communications.
The existence of the SCS is not officially recognized. It is known only that this new federal agency brings together CIA and NSA teams expert in decrypting of transmissions especially protected against any intrusion which comes from the outside.
Indeed, the NSA usually carries out its remote interceptions relatively “passively:” it intercepts what it is asked to oversee. However, the encryption of communications by the same parties which transmit them has become increasingly effective. It requires time – and money – to access these communications, and it becomes difficult “to crack” without reliable and easy access to suspected equipment.
It is thus necessary to find processes which allow authentic – but secret – intrusions into the targeted systems, i.e., “active” electronic and data-processing mechanisms, like, for example, the possibility of introducing viruses, of collecting key words which will facilitate their locations with impunity, and of infiltrating computers or communication networks. Only the CIA, thanks to its agents specialized in “covert actions” – in other words clandestine operations on the ground – is able to intervene. This is the reason of this alliance between the CIA and the NSA, through joint teams which work to the benefit of the SCS.
J. I.”
