Imagine my hilarity when the front page headline new “Iranian plot”, trailed by MI5 as involving weapons stores, attacks on the Israeli Embassy and on Whitehall, turned out to be yet another faked “surveillance operation” against Iran International, the “media company” that is dodgier than Al Capone’s accountant.
The BBC still made it the second item on Saturday’s main news, as “Iranian Terror Plot discovered”. Three men have been charged and remanded on bail before a hearing at the Old Bailey on 6 June.
This is another exercise of the UK’s draconian new legislation, the openly fascist National Security Act 2023, where it is an offence to gather information, whether classified or not, as “Engaging in conduct likely to assist a foreign intelligence service”.
This is an incredibly low bar – prosecutors don’t have to prove there is any actual contact with a hostile power. So if you take a photo of Downing Street, as many tourists do, that can be an offence as it could be “useful” to non-existent “Iranian terrorists” or others. We already have one person in jail for taking photos of Iran International despite absolutely zero evidence that he had ever had any kind of contact with Iran.

“ I believe this blog still has a truly useful role to play in explaining what is happening behind the scenes, what the mainstream media does not tell you.”
======
You are being too modest.
It does more: it contradicts active support by the MSM for various disingenuous government agendas.
I am reminded of the 2000 terrorism act clause 58
1)A person commits an offence if—
(a)he collects or makes a record of information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, F1…
(b)he possesses a document or record containing information of that kind [F2, or
(c)the person views, or otherwise accesses, by means of the internet a document or record containing information of that kind.]

A number of people were given very long prison sentences for being in possession of information that they not only had no intention of acting on but had not read and sometimes did not even now they were in possession of the information.
The fact that they have to make up these pretend terrorist just demonstrates how few if any real terrorist that have not been sponsored by the security services there are. Considering the death and destruction the west has caused in so many countries for such a long time it is rather amazing that there are not lots of terrorists seeking revenge . If terrorists wanted to blow up trains on the London underground they could do so every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
The Inquest into the 7/7 attack confirmed that there were multiple holes in the floor of each of the trains but did not try to explain how this fitted the given narrative of a single bomb per train.
Craig,
When you write:-
““Engaging in conduct likely to assist a foreign intelligence service”.
It is not just what you write – it is the writings of the vast majority of all the co-conspirators bloggers who follow you.
Sorry – must inform MI 5.
“it is an offence to gather information, whether classified or not, as “Engaging in conduct likely to assist a foreign intelligence service”.
The government’s explanatory website (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/complying-with-the-national-security-act-2023-security-professionals/a-guide-to-the-national-security-act-2023-for-security-professionals-accessible) makes it clear that the activities (including information gathering) have to be against the UK. So people who are not acting against British interests shouldn’t have to worry. The website gives a helpful Appendix with examples.
BTW HMG did not, repeat not, pay me to write this. I’ll prove it to you. HMG are skinflints. I rest my case. 🙂
Will be interesting to see how the Iran International trial pans out, then. If it is as Craig says it is, then it doesn’t fall into the examples in the appendix there.
“makes it clear that the activities (including information gathering) have to be against the UK”
?
From that page: “You may be at risk of committing an offence if the work you are undertaking could assist a foreign power in carrying out activities against the UK.”
They’ve bolded the bit beginning “assist” but left the key word “could” in roman.
So the activities have to be against the monarchist regime, yes, but they don’t have to be real activities. They can be potential and imaginary.
Well yes, if you photographed certain buildings or collected other information as an ostensibly innocent hobby, they might fall into the wrong hands. The wrong hands might pay a good price for such a accident to happen. Indeed the wrong hands might be operating the camera, like the Iranian agents caught spying on a dissident broadcaster in London 🙂
I remember this story:
“The “Greek plane spotters saga” refers to a 2001-2002 incident where a group of British and Dutch plane spotters were arrested and charged with spying in Greece. They were allegedly gathering information about a military airbase, but they claimed they were just pursuing a hobby and collecting openly available data. The saga involved arrests, imprisonment, trials, and ultimately, the overturning of most of the convictions. “
M.J,,
And relative to what you directed your argument to and this from officialdom: –
“State threats activity can take a variety of forms; broadly it describes activity that damages the UK or its interests, such as causing damage to assets and infrastructure (sabotage) or stealing sensitive information (espionage). It also covers activities intended to undermine our values and freedoms, such as manipulating public discourse or threatening political dissidents in the UK, ranging from harassment to physical threats.”
I am obliged to conclude that what Julian Assange published ( albeit it was totally true) was a threat to state security because he spoke totally truthfully.
Huh?
I thought Assange’s activities (exposing war crimes) embarassed the US government, not the UK.
Of course they did M.J., but we are “all in this together”, except when the US throws us under the bus as it regularly does. On a personal level I am pleased that there are the Julian Assanges of this World, who will try to expose the corruption and war crimes of nations which consider themselves to be above international law.
Agree with your second sentence, at least. Whistleblowers put themselves at great risk, so they deserve a salute.
international law? What’s that again?
“international law? What’s that again?”
A much misunderstood and misused term. “International law” is law agreed between nations and only binding them as far as they agree to let it bind them. What most people are thinking of when they talk of international law is supranational law, law that is imposed on nations and to which they don’t specifically agree.
Thank you Craig for the timely reminder that we could all be locked up for reading your blog, I suppose I will just be making matters worse for myself if I were to tell everyone about a hack on the Signal application that resulted in 410 gigabytes of information falling into the hackers hands, see: https://ddosecrets.com/article/telemessage. Please use this information wisely and, no it is not available for anyone to download. Just jouralists.
“Engaging in conduct likely to assist a foreign intelligence service”.
I guess Herr, I am a Zionist, Starmer will soon be banged up by MI5 for engaging in conduct likely to assist Mossad. Him and all his fifth columnist friends deserve prison, at least – do they still hang traitors ?
So, Deidre and Frank showing their holiday snaps of Southern Cyprus near the Akrotiri
Airbase to friends and family could be considered as an ‘Intention Crime’
Strangely enough the US Trumper who has just been sacked did enough to be tried for
Treason -similar to Priti Patel’s unofficial visit to Israel.
Actually assisting a Foreign Power as opposed to possibly assisting a Foreign Power by
say, taking a photograph of Mr and Mrs Netanyahu’s laundry when visiting the US is more of
a State crime than really, really bringing in and informing a Foreign Power as to what your
government is up to in respect of that Foreign Power.
Yes – we would all be in prison if the Thought Police could read our minds for many different reasons.
If they read Starmer’s mind it would look like the old Arcade Tennis game:
You could literally blow a Kilo of Cocaine up Starmer’s nose and it wouldn’t make him even remotely
interesting.
Where there’s no sense – there’s no feeling.
“If they read Starmer’s mind it would look like the old Arcade Tennis game:”
Would that be Pong (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pong)?
“There’s no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren’t enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What’s there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that’s the system, Mr. Rearden, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with”.
– Ayn Rand, “Atlas Shrugged”
Whatever you think of Ms Rand and her philosophy, that is one of the many things she got dead right. Not bad for 1957.
“Paranoid Britain” comes to mind from a reading of the National Security Act 2023 passed of course when the Tories were still in power. The lawyers who drafted it must have earned a tidy crust. There are certainly not many stones unturned to leave the feeling that anyone who does not toe the UK state narrative will be vulnerable to its wrath particularly as it is just one of many similar pieces of legislation at its disposal.
Have to admire the irony of the government guidance linked by MJ that its aim is to protect our freedoms and democracy.
Anyone who uses any international range of social media platforms notably Telegram could easily fall foul of this Act. And beware of taking and sharing holiday pics in Cyprus anywhere near the “Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia”.
Quite amazing watching Jeffery Sachs on Judge Nap discuss how Europe is basically run by the its ‘security’ services with factotum leaders and none more so than Two Tier in the UK.

If you want to understand why these arseholes have now adopted Keynesian War economics it is because they have utterly betrayed us and now they want to cover it up by obliterating all the evidence of their crimes and reducing us all to just being grateful to be alive.
But yeah they are protecting us from ‘terrorists. It is basically a protection racket.
Watch this astonishing interview (despite the interviewer and guest economist) with James Goldsmith from 1994! to see what they did. The guy (goldsmith) was dead a few years later from ‘aggressive cancer’… blah blah blah.
Goldsmith absolutely nails it. You will never listen to a clearer more concise explanation of why we are now badly f**ed.
If you want understand why China makes everything now and the West is fucked just watch it. It was all VERY deliberate. Ignore the future WEF c**t and the moronic interviewer and just listen to Goldsmith.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwmOkaKh3-s&ab_channel=SirJamesGoldsmith
That video hosted by the US advertising and surveillance company is ~ 1 hour long. What are the main points in what Goldsmith says?
The Zionists will want to scupper or otherwise counter the “conference on the two-state solution” that is scheduled to be held by the UN in New York on 3-4 June. There have been several times in the past when the terrorist regime has carried out surprise military attacks to undermine talks. Seriously there is not going to be any two-state solution.
Trump is still 100% funding Israel, as is Starmer, regardless of their public utterances. They are liars which is to be expected of any zionist pigs.
The two state solution is and always has been a complete PR fantasy pushed by the zionists because they know it will never happen or be allowed to happen. The two state solution is promoted to allow the west to pretend they are supporting Palestinians whilst they are actually doing nothing.
The only viable solution is the dismantling of israel and the implementation of one man, one vote and equal rights for everyone in Palestine. But the ‘only democratic state in the ME’ can not allow true democracy.
If e.g. a US, Australian, or Russian citizen has lived in Palestine for 3 years since they arrived from Brooklyn, Melbourne, or St Petersburg where they still keep a home, they should be behind the 6 million Palestinian refugees when applying for citizenship documents from the Palestinian interior ministry…although taking part in truth and reconciliation meetings with some of their victims would be considered in their favour. Not sure how many OAS members ever did this in Algeria.
It’s going to be interesting in the next days and weeks to see what happens with flights to and from Ben “We stole their country. Why would they accept that?” Gurion airport. Cheapo airlines stopping is one thing, national carriers another, all flights including chartered ones is another, and would make it difficult to organise an up sticks and run to join the occupying army operation from Finchley and Edgware etc.
Trump has inherited Biden’s unfinished work. Conquest of the West by the Tribe. AIPAC claimed to control 98% of the Senate and Congress, in that this number has taken the silver shekels to support their election bids. Trump is a wildcard but Kuschner is firmly embedded in his camp. Starmer and Reeves belong to the Tribe too. Exposing split loyalties is not a precursor to persecution, but silencing honest discussion, and banning compassion on the grounds of untrammelled supremacism is a problem
“AIPAC claimed to control 98% of the Senate and Congress…”
Sounds like an act of war by Israel, and high treason by the 98%.
When are the executions?
More evidence of the corruption and western sponsored genocide in action.
“A new, U.S.-backed private aid scheme staffed by former CIA operatives, ex-Marines, and mercenaries tied to Israeli intelligence and Wall Street elites has been deployed in Gaza under the guise of relief. The project is led by a shady NGO registered in Switzerland just months ago, and human rights groups are calling it what it is: a hostile corporate takeover of the aid sector, designed to militarize relief, displace civilians, and profit from Gaza’s agony.”

“The only viable solution is the dismantling of israel and the implementation of one man, one vote and equal rights for everyone in Palestine”.
In other words, put everything back the way it was in the 1920s. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to restore to life all the Palestinians who have been murdered. As a consequence of which the Jews have a decisive majority any time a democracy is set up – which they would never allow anyway.
You can’t unscramble eggs.
Although much talked about for years, and espoused as a way to resolve the conflict, the problem of the TSS lies in the details, which never ever get mentioned. A State where one side has swimming pools in their back gardens whilst the other side relies on stand pipes or water deliveries by Tanker truck, is a non-starter. Even worse, as most of the available Water is sourced from Aquifers, fed from illegally held upland catchments whereby one side has exclusive control of the Tap is a stranglehold on the poorer occupants at the bottom of the Hill, and this is only one aspect, albeit a very important one in a natural arid place like Palestine. Imho, a reason why the TSS is pushed is precisely because it allows one side, to retain the upper hand.
Yes and then there are the 6 million refugees.
Like him or not, George Habash was completely right to reject the two-state solution.
It isn’t going to happen.
It’s about half a century since the Arab oil sheikhs actually did anything against the occupation and the powers that support it. They are tied into the financial system of the US and its satellites.
Spot on Brian. There you have it. The financial system of usury and debt is the mantra that buries us under unrepayable debt, and guarantees the happy investors their billions and bliss. We sent little Tony to tell his old friend Muammar that he could not build his megalopolis on the shores of the Mediterranean, that his pan Arab, pan African banking system, to allow sub Saharan Africa to own and develop its own resources, would not be permitted. His brand new banking system was to have been run along Islamic lines, with no interest repayments for loans, just an upfront fee to be repaid first.
I followed the discussions in the FT and the Telegraph at the time. We cannot allow this, they said, and so ‘we’ didn’t. Saif’s PhD was rescinded on the grounds of plagiarism, but it had made clear that the entire system of global economics would have completely changed, had it been built. And simply because this discussion happened, we now know that the system we are organised under is just one possibility.
MMT is a better compromise and needs further, open, discussion, as a way of damage limitation without rocking the boat too much. But there you have it. Call it a trope. Many will. But open discussion is needed.
Time to wake up, sheeples
“The financial system of usury and debt is the mantra that buries us under unrepayable debt, and guarantees the happy investors their billions and bliss. ”
While it’s easy and convenient to blame the banksters for this, the truth is that we did it to ourselves. When offered easy credit (“Take the waiting out of wanting”), we could have said no and stuck to the old way of saving up for things and making the bastards pay us interest, instead of us paying them. However, we didn’t, we rushed into indebtedness, so now being in debt your entire working life is normalised.
“We cannot allow this, they said, and so ‘we’ didn’t”.
Just as Mr Biden didn’t allow NS2. Laws, conventions, treaties, and morals are just ornaments designed to distract the broad masses.
Today, however, there are forces in the world that are stronger than the USA. If it fails to act accordingly, we may soon see blood and teeth on the pavement.
”Like him or not, George Habash was completely right to reject the two-state solution.”
I cannot find much to dislike in the political life of George Habash. He was denigrated as a terrorist in western media of course, although his tactical and strategical policy was very much an adaption of the theory created by greatest terrorist of modern times: Menachem Begin. The man who was revered in westr capotals.
Habash was a idealist for sure, although he never broke entirely from the more pragmatic approach of Yasser Arafat. The Palestinian people are now cowering in various enclaves, a far cry from the days when Habash and Laila Khaled were taking the war to the occupying forces. The reasons for that disintegration are worth many a blog site no doubt.
But Habash recognised that an ethnic Palesrine state, part of some mythical two state solution, would have had no more validity than the ethnic Israeli state which now is attempting to exterminate it. He was a wise man.
@David
Agreed. I share your view of George Habash and Leila Khaled.
I only put the “Like him or not” phrase there as an effort to break down resistance
Interview with LK:

Sanctions are lifted now. Jolani may or may not be in power in a year’s time. Israel-US alignment re. Syria isn’t a given in a year’s time. Trump is interested mainly in promoting US interests – unless Israel bribes him with some sweat business deals, it also will be ignored.
We’ve now seen Iran joining the bandwagon and offering Musk good business opportunities in Iran. Ultimately, Trumps badly needs short-term successes that would appeal to his voter base, and these seem to be mostly about access to more and more markets for US corporations. The finesse of international relations, with all the subtle attempts to sway the delicate balance own way, seems to escape his comprehension or patience.
I believe whoever offers him (his entourage) a good-looking deal that could be nicely sold to his voter base, will get his ear. Iran has quite a few strong cards (the purchase of hundreds of Boeing airliners, for example, or the opening its oil industry to limited US investment – all are relatively safe “bribes”).
So, I’d be far from tearing my robes about the hyped Syria-Israel rapprochement – it’s just a hype.
Russia accused of trying to hack border security cameras to disrupt Ukraine aid
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/21/russia-accused-trying-disrupt-aid-ukraine-hacking-border-crossings
More BS?
why do you think it might be ‘BS’? Because you don’t want to believe it?
Because it looks improbable.
And because it is in the Guardian , now the house journal of MI5 and 6.
Really, never heard of secret services hack CCTV in an adversary country? Wow.
“More BS?”
Possibly not. Remember “aid” to Ukraine includes lethal aid, so the Russians have every reason to want to spy on what’s coming in. The Grauniad is being mealy-mouthed as usual.
The Zionist military have fired what they describe as “warning shots” towards a group of diplomats visiting Jenin in Palestine.
The diplomats came from various countries including Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Britain, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Lithuania, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, and Turkey.
During the last few months the Occupation has displaced the large majority of the people who were living in the Jenin refugee camp.

Is Israel the luckiest nation on earth? Just when they come under massive international criticism , an act of diabolical anti-Semitism happens and diverts all attention from them. Lucky or what?
Two Zionists working for the terrorist entity’s mission in Washington DC have been sanctioned. One is admitted to have been working for the entity’s political department. Fortunately no innocents were hurt.
USA and bumsniffer media is reporting that the operation occurred “near a Jewish museum”. Perhaps it occurred near a bagel shop too. Some are even said the terrorists had been at a meeting that was trying to find a “humanitarian solution” in Gaza. I won’t be surprised if Macron in Paris, Genocide Boy in London, and Merz in Berlin all repeat something along those lines – “oh those wonderful innocents, they were cut off in the prime of life when their only aim was to help people.” Such responses are never issued in respect of the tens of thousands of Palestinian children and youths and young people who have been murdered by Zionist terrorists in the past two years and many of whom are now at risk of starvation. They are never referred to as “innocent” or as people who have left behind their “loved ones”.
For the record, the terrorists in this case were attending the annual “Young Diplomats” reception held by the American Jewish Committee.
One of the Zionist terrorists who were sanctioned was German. I’m not sure about the other one, but she had done her master’s degree in the USA.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14738035/israeli-embassy-staffer-yaron-lischinsky-named-washington-shooting.html
The Daily Mail write-up mentions “anti-Semitism” 11 times.
They reap what they sow.
In other news, Brian, a member of the rap group Kneecap has been charged with a terrorism offence for displaying a Hezbollah flag for about 10 seconds at a concert six months ago, despite the band subsequently putting out a grovelling statement of contrition claiming that they don’t support Hezbollah. A year earlier at another gig, they also directly incited murderous violence against British MPs (particularly Tory ones) but, notwithstanding the fact that two MPs have been murdered in the past decade, none of them appear to have been charged over that. I’m usually not one for making grandiose statements, but this ZOG shit *has* to go. Unfortunately, the UK political establishment seems to be more cucked than Diddy.
One of the sanctioned Zionists was a German citizen, the other was a US citizen.
I am pro a secular Palestine, but why should settlers of their ilk get the automatic right of residence in it, let alone citizenship and the vote?
South African President Ramaphosa was treated disgracefully in a meeting with that POS Trump in the Oval office tn front of the worlds press, he ran a video of a group of black Nationalists calling for the murder of white Africaans. To which Ramaphosa said “that is not South African government policy”. Just think of the hypocrisy here, The Israeli government has a policy of Ethnic cleansing and Genocide, this has been meticulously documented and, more importantly is put into practice on a daily basis. The Prime Minister, President and many Ministers order the extermination of 2 million Palestinians, all with the backing of Trump, who supplies the bombs and aircraft to achieve the Genocide in a timely fashion, so that the world is not offended enough to demand an immediate halt to the open murder of hundreds of thousands of men women and children. I assume the South African case at the ICJ had no small part to play in Trumps diabolical diatribe. The man is a psychopath and a man with no moral compass.
https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/leftist-plantation-south-african-officials-say-white-refugees-are-committing-treason
George Orwell recognized the hypocrisy inherent in many Western leaders actions, especially Trump when he said in ‘Notes on Nationalism’ “Actions are held to be good or bad, not on their own merits, but according to who does them, and there is almost no kind of outrage – torture, the use of hostages, forced labour, mass deportations, imprisonment without trial, forgery, assassination, the bombing of civilians – which does not change its moral colour when it is committed by ‘our’ side”.
https://www.orwellfoundation.com/the-orwell-foundation/orwell/essays-and-other-works/notes-on-nationalism/
Talking of hypocrisy, Tommy Robinson is still being persecuted by the UK regime. But I guess he’s the wrong sort of activist ?
Tommy Robinson’s release from prison in the next week or so is likely to feature large in the British national spectacle. Rupert Lowe has had his card marked and won’t be saying much. A place may be made for Robinson in relation to the Reform Party – probably not actually in it, but somewhere on the send-em-backist stop-em-comingist far right, on live up-to-the-minute issues and quite possibly publicly supported by Elon Musk.
And, apparently, “Trump uses photos from wrong country as evidence of ‘white genocide’ in South Africa”
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/south-africa-trump-ramaphosa-meeting-country-b2755877.html
I guess it’s the thought that counts …
Will Trump be doing this when bibi next brings his washing over ?
It all helps to build up support for BRICS and disgust at the USA, NATO, and the Golden Billion.
Isn’t
the major part of the job description these days of our own spooks and securocrats? As the bottom empire in the British Empire’s relationship with the USAmerican Empire and rump white supremacism?
Indeed. The BBC for example has a long history of cooperation with the CIA. Then there is Five Eyes. What are these but examples of helping foreign intelligence services? The authorities in Britain talk such a load of old c*ck it would almost be unbelievable at times, if one weren’t familiar with it.
The Guardian today had a scare story about Russia building up its forces on the Finnish border. All this is of course unprovoked and aggressive behavior on the part of Russia. The headline reads…
“Finland ‘preparing for the worst’ as Russia expands military presence near border”
No mention of the agreement the Finnish government made with the US government i.e.
The Finnish Parliament unanimously approved the Defence Cooperation Agreement (DCA) between Finland and the United States on Monday.
Under the agreement, Finland will open 15 of its military bases for potential use by US forces and will also allow the US to bring defence equipment, supplies, materials, and soldiers to Finland.
In addition, the agreement will see the creation of certain military zones, which will include facilities to which only US personnel will have access.
The agreement creates a framework for US activities and a more permanent presence in Finland.
The Guardian must think all its readers are stupid.
Many people complained that it is not the first time Russia (the Soviet Union) has invaded Finland, which is true, however since Finland was in alliance with Nazi Germany at the time and was but 20 miles from Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) the Soviets had a justifiable case.
Harry Law

Harry,
not only was Finland not “in alliance with Nazi Germany at the time” of the Winter War but the USSR was in alliance with Nazi Germany at that time via the Molotov Ribbentrop Pact signed on August 23, 1939.
The Winter War was a war between the Soviet Union and Finland. It began with a Soviet invasion of Finland on 30 November 1939, three months after the outbreak of World War II, The Continuation War (1941-1944) was a conflict fought between Finland and Nazi Germany against the Soviet Union during World War II. It began with Finland’s declaration of war on June 25, 1941, and ended with the Moscow Armistice on September 19, 1944. The war aimed to regain territories lost to the Soviet Union during the Winter War (1939-1940) and involved significant military operations, including the capture of large areas of eastern Karelia.
Because Stalingrad was a short distance from the Finnish border the Soviets were wary of Nazi Germany, this proved to be correct, during the Battle of Stalingrad Soviet forces are estimated to have suffered 1,100,000 casualties, and approximately 40,000 civilians died.

Harry – do you acknowledge that your claim that Finland was allied to Nazi Germany at the time of Winter War was incorrect?
And that in fact the USSR was in alliance with Nazi Germany at that time via the Molotov Ribbentrop Pact signed on August 23, 1939?
Finland was not allied to Germany during the Winter War.
Finland was allied to Germany during the Continuation War.
The USSR was not in alliance with Germany in 1939. The Molotov-Von Ribbentrop pact was a non-aggression treaty.
All three countries were ruled by murdering c***s.
There was no formal Germany/Finland alliance at the time of the ‘Winter War’ and I think Harry got his Leningrads and Stalingrads mixed up. The Finns fought very well during the brief Winter War with Russia; a pity they did not show the same resolve when Nazi forces began to occupy their territory. Maybe their heart wasn’t in it.
The Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact is central to the Eurocentric narrative of WW2 and is to be commemorated later this year to embellish that version of history. The phrase ‘Nazi Germany’ is essential to this narrative since it confines the notion of fascism to one country and erases the fact that other countries willingly participated in the actions directed from Berlin. Almost 1 million non-German soldiers teamed up with the Nazis in Operation Barbarossa; what we might call today ‘The coalition of the Willing.’ Russians are well versed in their recent history.
Russian media has reports of over 100 NATO officers being killed by a missile strike near the Sumy region yesterday, mostly French and British. So far I have found nothing in western media.
Finland was not allied to Nazi Germany when the Soviets invaded Finland 3 months after WW2 started Germany invaded the Soviet Union on June 22, 1941, the Finns saw their opportunity to expand into Soviet territory, regain what was lost, and capture other claimed territories. Three days later, Finland officially declared war on the Soviet Union and joined Germany’s Operation Barbarossa. For Finland, the conflict against the Soviets as part of World War II was known as the Continuation War. Plans were drawn up to expand Finnish territory, and the Finnish armed forces pushed eastwards, achieving massive success with the aid of their Nazi allies. The Soviets quite rightly saw the Finnish border 20 miles from Leningrad as a glaring security threat and had to do something about it.
“The phrase ‘Nazi Germany’ is essential to this narrative since it confines the notion of fascism to one country and erases the fact that other countries willingly participated in the actions directed from Berlin.”
As well as erasing the fact that the British regime had friendly relations with some fascist powers in Europe all the way through to the 1970s when the fascist regimes were replaced in Spain and Portugal, so anyone who believes the British regime was on some kind of mission to “fight fascism” is deluded. Greece too could be mentioned.
Incidentally when did it become normalised to refer to Nazi Germany as “fascist”??
”Russian media has reports of over 100 NATO officers being killed by a missile strike near the Sumy region yesterday, mostly French and British. So far I have found nothing in western media.”
Some western media have carried the official Ukrainian account which reported six soldiers killed and 10 injured at a ‘training camp.’ An official has been suspended as a result, which suggests there may be some truth in the Russian version.
david warrison, I did not mix up Stalingrad and Leningrad [now Saint Petersburg] also formerly called Petrograd is 20 miles from the Finland border.
Harry, ”Because Stalingrad was a short distance from the Finnish border” was what you wrote. Leningrad was certainly very close to the Finnish border but I can’t agree that Stalingrad was.
“Incidentally when did it become normalised to refer to Nazi Germany as “fascist”??”
Probably about the same time as when WWII was recast from being a war against Fascists to a war against Fascism.
If it was a war against Fascism, why was Fascist Spain allowed to remain neutral?
” Russian media has reports of over 100 NATO officers being killed by a missile strike near the Sumy region yesterday,”
Become a standard trope, every Russian missile strike kills large numbers of NATO officers, a way of excusing the targeting of civilians. After the 300 killed in Lviv and the 100 lost when a command centre was hit in Kyiv plus the 30-40 captured in Rostov NATO can’t have many senior officers left.
Stalingrad (now Volgograd) is 1,000 miles from Finland.

Why do you include the 1939-1945 Government of Finland in your list of “murdering c***s” along with Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union?
“Why do you include the 1939-1945 Government of Finland in your list of “murdering c***s” along with Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union?”
Why wouldn’t he?
“Become a standard trope, every Russian missile strike kills large numbers of NATO officers, a way of excusing the targeting of civilians.”
Perhaps you would like to answer my question as to why the Russians would waste valuable missiles killing a handful of civilians here and there, when there are much easier pickings in the large cities, which remain un-carpet-bombed. Also I supposed this is “Russian propaganda” despite coming from South Korea: https://militarywatchmagazine.com/article/foreign-combatants-donbas-battles-russia
“Multiple reports from Western source have confirmed the operations of Western personnel in the Ukrainian theatre, with British Deputy Chief of Defence Staff Royal Marines Lieutenant General Robert Magowan having revealed in December 2022 that the Royal Marines had been carrying out high risk operations alongside Ukrainian government forces from April that year.”
Thank you david warrison, I did mix up those two Soviet cities. Apologies.
And of course one must not forget UK’s declaration of war on Finland, Hungary and Romania in December 1941 because of these countries alliances with Germany. Finland had to pay reparations to the USSR after the war.
“The chairman of the inquiry into the Manchester Arena bombing has said he hopes to get “acceptable answers” from MI5 at a meeting to discuss what steps have been taken to prevent further attacks.”
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c1j5514negno
I wonder if those steps include not training, funding and shielding terrorists ?
Did you watch the parliament debate condemning Israel’s actions
in Gaza It was pretty thin beer
So having deliberately let the October the 7th attack happen Netanyahu best present with Israel helping the body count with lots of friendly fire. Then using this as an excuse to kill between 59 and 100 thousand and wounding many more bombing as much as they can flat . Now ethnically cleansing the rest.
The British Government and what was called the coalition of the winning of 27 countries has said that they might have to take some undefined action some time in the future if Netanyahu does not stop.
Netanyahu reply get stuffed
While they talk and talk and talk, Israel continues murdering – with no controls or restrictions.
A mass-debate over the dead of Palestine by the wankers in westminster.
We will not forget.
A naive comment from one who has no education.
Yes MI5 take us for fools because they can hide behind the Official Secrets Act at all times.
Ordinary people cannot, and now can be arrested on suspicion of terrorism simply for displaying the flag of Palestine in public.
I am an old man and have read 1984. I will not worry about dying because I will escape this extreme fascist state called the UK, which seems to be very close to George Orwell’s worst nightmare. I wonder what would happen if a UK MP fell in love with a Palestinian refugee?
Fat Jon, it may have escaped your attention that MPs are now purely ornamental. In return for their excellent pay and pensions, their job is to show up (mostly) at Westminster, vote as ordered by the party bosses, occasionally relay the party line to the media, and present a straight bat (or brick wall) to any peasants, er constituents, who actually ask them to do anything.
Apart from the essential propaganda aspects, they could very well be replaced by so many coloured counters as in some board game.
So their private lives don’t matter very much unless they are VERY indiscreet.
Craig, what do you think to the idea of the Palestinians asking for UNGA Resolution 46/86 from 1991 to be revoked and, if still necessary, for UNGA Resolution 3379 from 1975 to be readopted/reaffirmed? Israel made the revocation of UNGA Resolution 3379 a condition for participating in the 1991 Madrid Conference so the argument for revocation of UNGA Resolution 46/86 would be that:
– Israel has used the conference and the so-called peace process that ensued to further its expansionist and ethnic cleansing policies, with the complicity of its US partner that had claimed to act as mediator in this process,
– Israel is systemically racist against Palestinians as testified by is qualification as an apartheid state by Jimmy Carter, B’Tselem, HRW, AI etc.
Apologies for the spam if this issue has been discussed here; there are a lot of comments so I may not have seen it!
On an entirely different subject, does anyone have an up-to-date count of the number of UN Resolutions Israel has ignored?
All of them, obviously – but how many have there been?
Talk is cheap – though I suppose its at the very least an acknowledgement – that genocide IS being committed – no doubt she’ll be removed for anti-Semitism.
“Slovenia’s President, before 720 MEPs in Brussels: “What we’re witnessing in Gaza is genocide.”
Her bold statement sparked a wave of applause, marking her as the first EU official to openly accuse Israel of genocide in the European Parliament. ”
https://nitter.poast.org/RamAbdu/status/1925451692180427188#m
Now check out the lower comment for the truth of the matter.
It was all preplanned – after meetings with Israeli officials to make them (EU MEPs) look as if they’d had enough of the genocide – the English PM and his Foreign Secretary David Lammy, must have also been in on it as well, as they too openly critcised Israel as well – these truly are evil vile people, who think we are stupid.
“A senior Israeli official tells the Haaretz paper why European leaders shifted yesterday, after 19 months of silence about the Gaza genocide, to instant outrage. It was all coordinated with Israel in advance:
“The past 24 hours were all part of a planned ambush we knew about. This was a coordinated sequence of moves ahead of the EU meeting in Brussels – and thanks to joint efforts by our ambassadors and the foreign minister, we managed to moderate the outcome.”
The current outrage as is orchestrated as was the earlier silence. No one in our governments cares about the Palestinians or their extermination. Their only concern is the optics.”

Agree completely with Jonathan Cooke.
The false pretence is just that – false.
Trump agrees with clearing out Gaza by one means or other as do the US camp followers in Europe.
Nothing moves in The Western World without consulting the US.
There is a possibility that Trump may walk from Ukraine but Trump being Trump that may be theatre too.
What the smaller Imperialists are worried about is how they are going to explain the Ethnic Cleansing of two million
half starving people into somewhere?
The media have the same view too.
They have lied a lot so far and if these crazy Israeli leaders carry on the media will have to tell massive lies with
bells on.
Oh and for the UK the MPs are a little worried about their seats next time out.
On the grapevine that may not be too far away.
Only the grapevine – no grapes yet.
“On the grapevine that may not be too far away.”
2026 is shaping up to be a real humdinger of a year, very much the “interesting times” of the Chinese curse.
The truth is, most of us are fools. They’re playing their game, and we’re being played.
We can absorb the constant flood of news from it’s ever increasing sources, dissect it through the tinted lenses we’ve been handed, and try to piece together the reality we hold and see with own own eyes, or choose ignorance. Ahh bliss. Envy those who don’t know better. Choose ignorance and live with the weight of that choice.
One thing is certain, there has been a shift. The proxy war in Ukraine, the mad dash for resources. Greenland, a distraction. The U.S., diluting the narrative with dreams of lithium wealth—rich on paper, just like its oil, its gold, its dollar. And bonds? Then there’s Israel. The untouchable Israel is no longer untouchable. The repercussions of which are yet to be realised. Loathed by many, enabled by the few, and upheld by the silent, complicit, ignorant, majority. But that silence may be breaking. Is this a warning to Israel, or a sign of a deeper shift? SA starting to feel push back but we’re no longer signing from the same hymn sheet publicly, so ignorant harmonising and all if they don’t play their cards right.
A looming nuclear disaster in Iran, one we’ll pretend we had no hand in? They’re tossing matches into powder kegs. The spectre of a unified EU and Russia, China, India, Pakistan, and the oil giants. The world leaders are scrambling. Trump is being outmanoeuvred, but not Trump. The players are unknown. The game, unknowable.
Our hand? We are the many. Fuck them and their endless jokers, we always had the Royal Flush. I can only hope we recognise it, and use it, before it’s no longer true.
Is it true or would you deny it and prefer instead to believe the perverse spin supplied by different yarns and tall mocking tales …. It’s not antisemitism, it’s antifascism. Open you hearts and minds and eyes and recognise the propaganda that constantly lies and provides fear media with its crazed platforms of deceit and conceit …….. without which it cannot survive but increasingly quickly withers and dies.
Take care with what you are supporting …… most everything is never as it initially seems.
Craig is right to point to the next western and Zionist goal to attack Iran from Diego Garcia and elsewhere, goading Russia and China in the process.
Netanyahu and Starmer are both using words and bombs to get nowhere in Gaza, whilst we are fobbed off with great EU futures of lower prices and less immigration.
The EU is a crumbling monolith that needs Romania and Albania to survive. We are rattling into a WW3 scenario that seems unstoppable.
Thanks for this and the previous article on the real leaders who are in charge of keeping us at bay with fascist threats and laws that take the shine of the NSDAP of the 1930s.
Diego Garcia is a tiny atoll, currently crammed with soldiers, weapons, supplies, ammunition, and – last I saw – quite a lot of very expensive American bombers.
It certainly is a long way from land. But nowadays submarines carry missiles – some of them hypersonic.
Israel has been trying to get the Americans to attack Iran on its behalf for a very long time. The Americans make bellicose noises but don’t do much at all. It’s consistent with my theory that Iran has the Bomb and quite likely has had it for some time. That’s existential for Israel because millions would leave if they knew (there’s knowing and there’s knowing with enough certainty to quit your job and sell up). But it makes an American attack far from cost-free, especially if Iran does the obvious thing and hands its weapons over to irregular forces.
People are literally starving to death right now in Gaza:
https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2025/5/22/palestinian-health-minister-reports-29-starvation-related-deaths-in-gaza
Western media coverage in the next few days is likely to focus on the Zionist occupation “allowing” some aid trucks to enter – a drop in the ocean. Five hundred trucks a day are needed. Yesterday eight were allowed in, and occupation soldiers fired on the Palestinian police drivers, killing six of them.
Other war crimes committed by the occupation in the past 24 hours include
* the shelling of a civilian shelter in the al-Baraka area of Deir al-Balah, central Gaza,
* heavy fire against Al-Awda Hospital in Tel al-Zaatar, where occupiers set fire to tents in the courtyard where displaced families had taken refuge as well as setting fire to the medicine store
https://www.palestinechronicle.com/al-awda-hospital-in-flames-nearly-100-killed-in-latest-israeli-attacks-on-gaza/
Occupation leader Netanyahu (who probably has the right to Polish citizenship) is saying that the French, Canadian, and British governments are all strengthening Hamas, and that it’s Palestinians not ZIonist Jews who are “mass murderers, rapists, baby killers, and kidnappers”.
He seems to be saying that striking back against Zionist murderers is nasty and racist and only happens because the Zionist murderers are Jewish.
He specifically condemns Tom Fletcher, the UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, for stating the fact that the occupation’s continued blockade of Gaza will imminently cause many babies to starve – and he specifically condemns the British state broadcaster the BBC for reporting Fletcher’s statement.
https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/humanity-netanyahu-starmer-dc-b1229356.html
So we can expect the British government to become even more pro-genocidal in its reporting, and even more dehumanising of the genocidalists’ victims. Hard to believe that is even possible, but it is. It wouldn’t even surprise me if Carney, Macron, and Starmer are all removed from office, and Tim Davie at the BBC too.
Stephen Pollard in the Zionazi organ called the Jewish Chronicle is saying that “The killings of Yaron and Sarah are what ‘globalise the intifada’ really means”.
https://www.thejc.com/opinion/the-killings-of-yaron-and-sarah-are-what-globalise-the-intifada-really-means-vz00ca21
Indeed Brian Red, and not one journo has the guts to ask why the Zionist created Hamas on the first place.
Game playing, dividing and exterminating, their history is full of it, from Jabotinski to Netanyahu.
The pest on all of them!
When a Reign of Terror starts turning on its normally loyal servants such as Starmer and Macron (I haven’t paid enough attention to Carney in the past to say), it tends to mean the Reign is near collapse. It relies on countless minions to carry out the Terror and once a critical mass of them realise they could be next at the guillotine, the game is up. I’d say the Zionist Reign is nearing that point.
Britain’s politicians and journalists are likewise taking us for fools this week, all of them colluding in the sudden (Hague-motivated) pretence by Starmer and Lammy to be shocked and horrified by the genocide.
Both men from the very start bent over backwards to and justify the genocide and are continuing to bend over backwards to facilitate it.
However, this is the thanks they get from Israel…
Netanyahu accuses Starmer of siding with Hamas
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7804k13x52o
It’s all a game to the genocide club. Zionists lie as they breathe so anything Starmer, Netanyahu and the rest say can safely be assumed to be an absolute lie.
Look beyond the lies, the genocide continues, the West continues in its support of the genocide.
The useful idiots will never learn that, to the Zionists, they are just subhuman Gentiles like the rest of us. A donkey may be useful for a while, but when its usefulness is over it can be killed or left to die. And will be.
What would you think of a donkey that expected gratitude and reward for its loyalty?
You would think it was exceptionally stupid – even for a donkey.
Not like that’s the only instance.
What with the odd circumspect lack of reportage, on the “Zoolander plot”. Wherein three “Ukrainian Male models” firebombed properties connected with Starmer.
Convenient or what ? MI5 Assets ?
It was obvious from the start that it didn’t matter what they knew about Starmer – Savile, the Labour leadership lies, genociding children, rent boys, they would keep on presenting him as the very best of us. As a great moralist who can scold the world on behalf of decency.
The man can’t even dress himself, he needs his brown skinned panty-wallah, hardly the best of us, just another MI5 asset, the toolmakers son is indeed a right tool.
Why mention brown skin?
Diversity, Inclusivity and Equality ! Or doesn’t that apply to all ?
Let’s not pussy foot around who the influence pedalers are.
“Let’s not pussy foot around who the influence pedalers are.”
One does not pedal influence, one peddles it. The only thing one pedals is a bicycle, or perhaps a pedalo.
It did strike me that all three seemed unusually good-looking for Ukrainians.
As you’re probably aware there is no lack of conjecture online or in some foreign media. It seems to me that some foreign reportage has come via UK journalists whose editors are not willing to publish anything much about the story.
Some of the commentary addresses the question which most of us have grappled with from the outset: how did young Ukrainians with limited English language skill manage to obtain classified information in respect of the Prime Minister’s homes and recent car? The only plausible explanations are that such information was handed to them by rogue elements within the UK security services, or that they had personal knowledge to rely upon.
You guys crack me up.
It took me less than minute to find Starmer’s previous addresses on the Electoral Roll. The Kentish Town house is 18 Countess Road NW5 and the flats 78 Grafton Road NW5. The car was a little more tricky but Starmer knocked a Deliveroo guy off his bike in 2020, appropriately enough doing a U Turn, and photos of the damaged car were all over the internet. They no doubt found one online which showed the registration and as it was sold to a neighbour spotted it close to the house.
It was a very amateurish operation, two houses where Starmer used to live, one of which he no longer owns, and a car he sold after he became PM.
Both sides in the Ukraine war have been accused of blackmailing friends and relatives of PoWs into committing acts of sabotage by threatening to harm the PoW. I would not be surprised if this is the case here.

Pears Morgaine
Easyish to find I think as you say.
What’s not easy to find is any Mainstream puzzlement as to what may have gone on?
Now the media play this game of non – speculation in all High profile cases as they
‘don’t wish to speculate ‘ but end up interviewing experts who do just that.
The intriguing combo here are three Ukranians as, when these attacks occurred I was
scratching my head as to why Ukrainians would attack Starmer?
Starmer has not hidden his light under a bushel for Ukraine has he?
There is even an allegedly salacious element for The Sun in this story if true of course.
I do have to say that if this was an allegation about Jeremy Corbyn in his pomp the MSM would have no trouble
with not speculating and of course mix a large amount of anti – semetism into the mix whether it had any relevance
or not to the story.
The Court cases are set for June sometime – which is a bit quick unusually.
Then again we have an un- inquisitive media so it should not be a surprise.
It’s good to know that Ukrainians in Britain are integrating well enough to be able to access the electoral roll. That bodes well for the future.
No one can dispute that these attacks appear amateurish in the extreme, although I note the criminal charges refer to endangering life. However had the suspects arrested been either Russian or Palestinian then it is hard to believe the front pages of our MSM would not have been packed full of the story.
The ‘Romanian’ arrested it is now established was a native of western Ukraine and made use of a Russian translator in court. It’s as if someone was handing out misinformation, or perhaps disinformation.
I had not previously come across the claim that relatives of POWs commit acts of sabotage under duress. It strikes me as a particularly useless ploy.
‘The Court cases are set for June sometime – which is a bit quick unusually.’
I wouldn’t anticipate much in the way of revelation at trial. If the defendants steer clear of mentioning political motivation or personal relationships they might be handed relatively light sentences given that there was no actual injury to the person.
Pears has actually sketched an outline for their defence which might prove to be very helpful. These wretched young men were Ukrainian refugees who fled to England to escape a brutal invasion and were subsequently bribed/blackmailed into their arson attacks by mystery men that spoke with Russian accents. Reluctantly, and after establishing that there were no persons around to be injured, they carried out these half-hearted attacks for which they are truly sorry.
By June there may well be further Ukrainian setbacks on the battlefront, so the media can run stories about ‘Putin’s Proxy War on Democracy.’
Pears Morgaine
So you have time to look up Starmer’s old addresses.
But still no time acknowledge his participation in the Genocide in Gaza.
Why is that?
“These wretched young men were Ukrainian refugees who fled to England to escape a brutal invasion ”
What makes this invasion “brutal”? Is not all war brutal, in which case why mention it? In what way was it more brutal than the invasion of, say, Iraq?
David Warriston: There’s a public version of the Electoral Roll that anyone can search online. From electoralregister.net: “An edited version of the electoral register, also known as the open register, can be accessed and searched by anyone for any purpose.” Our local library has paper copies on open shelves up to around 2001. Presumably it’s only in electronic form since then but it is still a public document. A prominent person like Starmer may have had his details removed from it but the full version is accessible by political parties (I’ve worked with it in the past), the police and credit agencies. Some people get their details redacted from it too, but only a handful. That the details used in this case seem to have been out of date suggests these men could have used previous year registers because Starmer isn’t shown in the current one.
Bayard,
Maybe I did not make myself clear. I commented critically on the routine use of the phrase ‘brutal invasion’ myself just a few days ago. My post was attempting to mimic the language I imagined a defence lawyer for the Ukrainian suspects might use.
Stephen Hayes,
Thanks for that; it is how I remember the electoral roll being made public from my time spent scouring around in libraries. Information was at least 10 years out of date. And the days when the IRA could scan through ‘Who’s Who’ to locate possible targets are long gone.
Which suggests the arson attacks were not politically organised by a foreign power since any security service worthy of the name would not be relying on obsolete information. Neither would they bother attacking the British PM in person or in character since any replacement would be adopting the same foreign policy as him. And a electricity sub station near a major airport or HM Dockyards would be a more useful arson target than someone’s front door.
No need to be so coy David. The invasion of Ukraine is brutal and has been since its inception. Tens if not hundreds of thousands have died and no doubt similar numbers maimed and mutilated. There have been massacres, torture, rape and oppression; over 12,000 civilians have died, two dozen over the weekend alone including several children (waiting for the inevitable claim that they were really NATO Field Marshals or whatever).
Pretty small fry compared to the slaughter going on in Gaza admittedly (happy now Zoot?) but Ukraine is not so densely packed and still has means to resist.
“No need to be so coy David. The invasion of Ukraine is brutal and has been since its inception. Tens if not hundreds of thousands have died and no doubt similar numbers maimed and mutilated. That’s what war is like and what it has always been like. To be worth mentioning as brutal, it would have to be exceptionally so and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was, compared to most invasions, very far from brutal. Kharkov was taken without a single death. Otherwise constantly referring to the invasion as “brutal” it is like never referring to water without putting the adjective “wet” in front of it.
Yes, lots of people have died and many of them have been civilians, but many, if not most of these have been killed by the Ukranians, even more so if you consider that the war started in 2014 as a civil war. In any case, as you refuse to hoist on board because it doesn’t fit with your narrative, the Russo Ukraine war is the first war for at least a hundred years where the military deaths outnumber the civilian ones.
Perhaps they came here to escape conscription into the Ukrainian armed forces and were threatened with being sent back unless they did these things.
Is anyone else linking Trump’s new tariffs on the EU with European leader’s comments on Israel?
