One of the most glaring omissions regarding data relating to COVID-19 is the impact on health. Too much focus by many on mortality figures means underestimating the real problem. The crude mortality rates are estimates and for example a figure of 2% can be derived from the worldometers data.
But there are no easily available extra table figures relating to hospital admissions, morbidity due to the illness or long term sequelae (long covid). This together with manpower shortages due to even mild illness is the other and much bigger burden of the disease.
