Unfortunately it´s not that easy. See nakedcapitalism blog for more on that compelx issue…

Well, let’s resume the discussion of the situation with the Ukrainian conflict regarding the meeting of Putin and Trump in Alaska.
I will bring you some atmosphere of Russian social networks.A couple of days before the meeting, when the composition of the delegation became known, jokes about Medvedev appeared.
As you know, he distinguished himself with particularly crazy rhetoric in his Telegram channel. So, the public humorous opinion attributes to him an irrepressible desire to use the nuclear button.
They posted pictures from the movie “Home Alone”, the moment when Kevin’s parents at the airport discover that they left him home alone.
Later, they joked that a joint lunch was canceled because Medvedev supposedly got to the strongbox with the button, that’s why not only Putin hurried home, but also a worried Trump allocated a couple of fighter jets to escort him.Footage from the video of the meeting, where Putin and Trump are walking down the red carpet and Trump is saluting the military guard, was framed to look like Trump is saluting Putin.
A photo from the meeting room, where Putin put his hands to his mouth like a megaphone, trying to answer something to the shouting journalists, was accompanied by the caption “Ukrainians, what’s wrong with your face?”. It became the meme of the day, with multiple jokes like today in Ukraine there are massive reports about failures in Face ID, and the heat of burning butts has brought global warming significantly closer.
In general, since no breakthrough statements were made, someone summed up the results of the meeting as follows:
“Trump showed his big dick. Putin responded by politely jingling his steel balls. Both were pleased with themselves and, having bowed, went their separate ways.”
—On a serious note, I am personally very grateful to Trump, Witkoff, Rubio and the entire administration who are making efforts to end this conflict. And I’m also grateful to Tucker Carlson, who came to Russia and interviewed Putin (and even endured a long historical opening monologue!). I believe that he did a great thing, first breaking through the shield of lies that the Democrats have built around Russia and Ukraine.
Now I think it’s time for the Americans to remember that their Congress previously refused to help the Ukrainian Azov precisely because of their Nazi ideology. But they removed this restriction, armed and trained them under Biden, making this war simply inevitable.

Viva VPN! 🙂 Hinally I got a good one 🙂
Do you mind me opening a separate thread to describe what I’ve seen in Crimea? I feel uneasy to post it in this thread, because Crimea isn’t Ukraine.mods@cm_org
You are of course very welcome to start a new discussion topic specifically about Crimea, Tatyana.
Any readers who might wish to dispute your view of its territorial status can do so on that thread.

Hello MODS, I am aware I am massively restricted on these discussions because my commenting style upsets other contributors. I would beg indulgence, I have not been to Crimea, although I have been to the Soviet Union.
I am intensely interested in Crimea.
I have always interacted very well with Tatyana, I request I am allowed to enguage in these discussions, concerning Crimea.

Michael, I’d be glad if you take part in the discussion about Crimea. I haven’t had the opportunity to simply visit this site in between work moments for quite a long time, so I have accumulated a need to practice expressing my thoughts in detail, verbosely and with many cultural and historical remarks. In English.
Here in Russia we have a battle of digital titans.
Roskomnadzor is blocking servers and sites. Local mobile providers are demanding to ban calls via WhatsApp and Telegram. Local software developers are promoting a national messenger. Plus, due to attacks by Ukrainian drones, mobile Internet is often jammed.I’m lucky to know some good old IT shamanism and a little dancing with a tambourine got me the blessing of the Internet’s heavenly patrons and one good VPN service. Ahaha! Mods, do you see me as visiting from Helsinki, Finland?
Tatyana
ha ha, I’ll be a Finnished commentator 🙂
another fast ping is Warsaw, Poland. So sometimes I’ll be a Polar commentator 🙂
Roskomnadzor – well, if they badly need to block something – may pretty well go and block their anus!
Tatyana
not Polar, but Polaroid 🙂 conveys the meaning better, imho. I do really like it! I’ll change the caption in my avatar 🙂

Tatyana,
my longest ever friend, Jon Milo, ( now dead) had a polaroid camera.
At that time him and I used to re-build chimneys.
Jon would take a polaroid snap of a neighbouring chimney, to show home owners it was damaged.
Not one person, ever said, “can you sort out my chimney” from that poloroid snap.
I think there is a slim chance that president Trump, has took the synopsys from Mr. Putin.
Trump may begin to grasp to game is over.
There is a window of possibility that Russia and America can begin to normalise relations.Tatyana
Michael, I’m not sure if this is appropriate, excuse me, but i’ll say what’s accepted in my culture – I hope that your friend is now in a better place, and is watching you and chimneys with a mug of good beer in his hand.
As for Trump, let’s see what Zelensky brings to him on Monday.

side note.
this site could increase monetization if it took bets. I.e., I’d bet 3 to 1 that Ze will wear a business suit to meet Trump.AG
I bet against it. No suit.
