The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?

Who is going to pay $ 6 and copy/paste before it gets deleted, probably in less than 12 hours from now?
Thanks to heritage i saw sn Omar al Hilli who lives in Sweden for the first time. No idea about who he is and what he does. Nothing found on the web. Who is Omar al Hilli from Sweden?

NOW THEN….
The Ali I found (he tweets) is NOT that Ali.
My “Ali” works for someone completely different.
Why is my Ali the son of the ex deputy minister (now dead !) is because on the 19th of Nov 2012, in reply to a message, he confirms he is the son of Ammar.
Your Ali IS NOT repeat NOT “the” Ali.
So now we have TWO men called “Ali Al Saffar” !
That is interesting.
Are those Ali’s linked (bit of a pun there) because that maybe the link we are looking for.
THIS is Ali Al saffar (below). Go to the 19th Sept 2012.

and here he is on LinkedIn

Analyst, Directorate of Global Energy Economics at International Energy Agency.
God only knows who your Ali Al Saffar is. But are they linked ?
BLUE.
BASICALLY can we link the son of your Ali Al Saffar (Salman’s kid) with the ex ministers (know deceased no doubt) Ali Al Saffar.
Because then…if Iqbal links to Ali Al Saffar (Salman)….and the above statement is true….we have a direct link from Al Hilli, thru Ali Al Saffar and Ali Al Saffar…to a very strange kidnap/murder in Iraq.
@NR: I hear you.
And BLUE.
Consider this. We know that Iran’s oil exports have increased, due to “prof smuggling”. And that money can buy “this”.
Those “things” can come from anywhere…like Allot for instance.
The US “current view”is that “modern warfare is as much about peace, than about a battlefield”.
If that is so…then under any circumstance, would it not be in the favour of the USA to call Iraq “at peace” rather tan continue another TEN years ?
Peace would not come if the COR (Iraq) was corrupt….and not “at peace” and also an aid to Iran (Iraq has experience in oil exports pre 2001).
Yet for Iran o “trade” it needs revenue….which it spends, most probably with the “nob” of the USA/Zionist republic of Unreal.
Now that coul have been “exposed”. Not by Al Hilli (too minor) but by papers/dossier of the now deceased Al Saffar (quite trusted).
That’s my theory. Just need to find that damn link.

In answer to your question, NR, some police forces have been told to stop giving “cutesy” names to their investigations. I wonder about one with this name:

@NR: What name does the Chevaline investigation have?

Probably not Project Doughnut (too similar to the appearance of the Large Hadron Collider).

Suicides: December 22 2011. Melissa Ramsden not previously alluded to here as far as I am aware. She worked for the Israeli Goverment Tourist Office. She was discovered dead next to her bed having secumbed to an overdose of sleeping pills.

Met Diplomatic Officer, “Ricci Giff”, at Israeli Embassy subsequently charged with wilful misconduct for allegedly having an affair with Miss Ramsden and leaving his post. Suggestions of her wearing his gun belt, and being addicted to cannabis, alcohol and crack cocaine. She also left a letter. Suicide verdict returned. Note the character assassination!
May indeed be the case but familiar aspects as previously discussed here. His charges (the Times reports) were subsequently amended to remove reference to Israel. Mmmmm – bit suspicious that. Doesn’t take much imagination to construct a alternative explanations does it?

This is another one of those asides.
The current head of MI6 was appointed in 2009. He started his diplomatic/SS career in Syria and then held prominent posts in the middle east, south africa and america. Immediately prior to the iraq invasion he was ambassador to egypt and was then drafted into iraq as our representative immediately following the invasion in 2003. (See photo with the archbishop of canterbury (elect))Before being appointed to his current post he was our ambassador to the united nations’ evenso his wife posted personal details on FB. we couldn’t have a better informed man in charge of chevaline, could we?

“Sir John said that without MI6’s work dealing with the threat, “you’d have Iran as a nuclear weapons state in 2008 rather than still being two years away in 2012.”
Sir John disclosed that MI6 has “run a series of operations to ensure that the sanctions introduced internationally are implemented, and that we do everything we can within the Middle East to slow down these remaining problems.
“I take great pride in the fact that, in the last ten years, over a number of jobs, I’ve been involved in an issue of global concern, and I feel that I as an individual [have made] an impact in the outcome of events.”

From my aside (which did have a connection to Iran and Israel, BTW), I came across the matter of diplomatic and special passports:

Go to “Types” for interesting information.
Q
Could be.
James
I know that there are two ali al saffars. One Ali is the son of Ammar and the other one is the son of Salman.
I believe that there is only one way to find out relative connections, and that is if somebody paid for myheritage access before the al hilly genealogy tree will get deleted by clean teams.
I would also be interested into Omar al Hilli from Sweden (nothing on the web about him) and there is an Omar al Saffar in Sweden, too.
I think we should also know whether or not Swedish/Lebanese billionaire Ayad al Saffar is related to the same family (one of the ten most influentual foreigners in Sweden).
However, we won’t ever know this as long as nobody pays for the data. Forget newspapers and journalists. They are all too dumb and too stupid for any kind of sane investigations today. All their intelligence is just good enough for a copy/paste job today. Journalism has become a laughable freak show of stupid brains since 9/11.
A small amount new about Ben Zygier. Quotes from prison workers near bottom:
http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/political-news/spies-like-us-20130308-2frbw.html
From what Q linked to about passports on Wikipedia:
“Passports without sovereign territory: Several entities without a sovereign territory issue passports as well, most notably Iroquois League, the Aboriginal Provisional Government in Australia and the Sovereign Military Order of Malta.”
That explains this that I posted before: “the Knights of Malta [Knightsbridge] whose special diplomatic status facilitates the movement of AmeriCares supplies through customs and exempts the group from taxes…”

“In late 2010, then foreign minister Kevin Rudd paid a two-day visit to Israel. After back-to-back meetings including talks with Israeli counterpart Avigdor Lieberman and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Rudd was driven to Ben Gurion Airport just outside Tel Aviv for a 4.40pm flight to London on Tuesday, December 14.
The following day, Zygier was found dead, apparently having hanged himself in the bathroom of his supposedly suicide-proof cell.”
Oh the secret world of co-incidences and forgetfulness!

Zyglier’s family close up completely. Al Hilli’s much the same. Be interesting to know precisely why. Then no one find the suicide of Melissa Ramsden just a tiny bit suspicious. She was “PR Manager” at the Israeli Tourist Information Office and been told she was no longer required. Despite having “not drunk alcohol since 2005 and had not taken drugs since 2007. Only days before her death, doctors and friends remarked that she was doing well” she was found having “taken a large quantity of pills earlier that day” on 22 December 2011.
“Last December an employee of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, Melissa Ramsden (pictured above), committed suicide in her flat in Maida Vale. According to the “Haaretz” newspaper, reports to the Israeli Civil Service Commission indicate that there is a suspicion she was sexually harassed, allegedly, by the Director of Tourism in the UK, Rafi Shalev.
The employee complained by formal letter to the Deputy Director General of the Tourism Ministry, Oren Drori, who passed it on to the Director General and other senior officials. They did not act according to the regulations in place for cases of sexual harassment. The development of the events to their tragic end brought Assaf Rosenberg, head of Civil Service Commission disciplinary branch, to criticize Noaz Bar-Nir, the Director General of the Tourism Ministry. He complained that the employee’s complaint wasn’t dealt with for many months and therefore the truth cannot be ascertained in the matter.
Ramsden, who was the Public Relations Manager at the UK office, outlined in her letter a long sequence of harassments, starting with compliments that had sexual content, resulting in methodical harassment towards her after refusing the alleged advancements of Rafi Shalev. Only months after the complaint, following a second request from her, the ministry started investigating and even sent Gideon Snir, deputy director general for strategic administration and human resources, in autumn 2011, to investigate the UK office further. Snir was convinced that atmosphere in the office was negative and that the two could not work side-by-side, but he could not verify her complaint of sexual harassment.
The ministry of tourism is very sorry for the death of the employee. With her death the ministry contacted her family to make sure her rights are kept and being given to her according to the law”. ” http://www.alondon.net/index.php?action=art&id=5674&lang=en_GB
Now a member of the Diplomatic Protection force, located at the Israili Embassy, had been charged in connection with his association with Miss Ramsden. Giff, of Sandy, Bedfordshire, will next appear at Southwark Crown Court on March 4. (Sandy eh?)

The name “Ricci Gif” and his appearance may suggest he is of Jewish origins as perhaps was Miss Ramsden? Was he on duty alone at the Israeli Embassy? Who were these individuals answerable to? All the indications are that Miss Ramsden took her own life are they not and it is inconceivable there could be any other reason for her demise, is there? Of course what goes on in the Israeli Embassy will always be of interest to British Intelligence, with which there is no suggestion of a connection here.
Nor indeed Miss Ramsden as access to the Met.?
“From right, Tourism Ministry director general Noaz Bar Nir, Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov, and Rafi Shalev, head of the London-based Israel Government Tourist Office.” Any names of interest BB?
