The mainstream media for the most part has moved on. But there are a few more gleanings to be had, of perhaps the most interesting comes from the Daily Mirror, which labels al-Hilli an extremist on the grounds that he was against the war in Iraq, disapproved of the behaviour of Israel and had doubts over 9/11 – which makes a great deal of the population “extremist”. But the Mirror has the only mainstream mention I can find of the possibility that Mossad carried out the killings. Given Mr al-Hilli’s profession, the fact he is a Shia, the fact he had visited Iran, and the fact that Israel heas been assassinating scientists connected to Iran’s nuclear programme, this has to be a possibility. There are of course other possibilities, but to ignore that one is ludicrous.
Which leads me to the argument of Daily Mail crime reporter, Stephen Wright, that the French police should concentrate on the idea that this was a killing by a random Alpine madman or racist bigot. Perfectly possible, of course, and the anti-Muslim killings in Marseille might be as much a precedent as Mossad killings of scientists. But why the lone madman idea should be the preferred investigation, Mr Wright does not explain. What I did find interesting from a man who has visited many crime scenes are his repeated insinuations that the French authorities are not really trying very hard to find who the killers were, for example:
the crime scene would have been sealed off for a minimum of seven to ten days, to allow detailed forensic searches for DNA, fibres, tyre marks and shoe prints to take place.
Nearby bushes and vegetation would have been searched for any discarded food and cigarette butts left by the killer, not to mention the murder weapon.
But from what I saw at the end of last week, no such searches had taken place and potentially vital evidence could have been missed. House to house inquiries in the local area had yet to be completed and police had not made specific public appeals for information about the crime. No reward had been put up for information about the shootings.
Behind the scenes, what other short cuts have been taken? Have police seized data identifying all mobile phones being used in the vicinity of the murders that day?
The idea that the French authorities – who are quite as capable as any other of solving cases – are not really trying very hard is an interesting one.
Which leads me to this part of a remarkable article from the Daily Telegraph, which if true points us back towards a hit squad and discounts the ides that there was only one gun:
Claims that only one gun was used to kill everybody is likely to be disproved by full ballistics test results which are out in October.
While the 25 spent bullet cartridges found at the scene are all of the same kind, they could in fact have come from a number of weapons of the same make.
This throws up the possibility of a well-equipped, highly-trained gang circling the car and then opening fire.
Both children were left alive by the killers, who had clinically pumped bullets into everybody else, including five into Mr Mollier.
Zainab was found staggering around outside the car by Brett Martin, a British former RAF serviceman who cycled by moments after the attack, but he saw nobody except the schoolgirl.
Her sister, Zeena, was found unscathed and hiding in the car eight hours later.
Both sisters are now back in Britain, and are believed to have been reunited at a secret location near London.
There are of course a number of hit squad options, both governmental and private, which might well involve iraqi or Iranian interests – on both of which the mainstream media have been very happy to speculate while almost unanimously ignoring Israel.
But what interests me is why the Daily Telegraph choose, in the face of all the evidence, to minimise the horrific nature of the attack by stating that “Both children were left alive by the killers”? Zainab was not left alive by design, she was shot in the chest and her skull was stove in, which presumably was a pretty serious attempt to kill a seven year-old child. The other girl might very well have succeeded in hiding from the killers under her mother’s skirts, as she hid from the first rescuers, and then for eight hours from the police.
The Telegraph article claims to be informed by sources close to the investigation. So they believe it was a group of people, and feel motivated to absolve those people from child-killing. Now what could the Daily Telegraph be thinking?
As for the aircondition unit: don’t forget that there are 2 saad al hillis in the uk (if the dutch orphan is still existing). Also he had that small SAT TV shop (we had a picture once posted here). Perhaps this was planned to be used for the shop. I remember the picture. There wasnt enough space in that house for the rather big outside part.
I dont think that this ad is suspicious.
However, it would be great for further investigations to know the complete email address if available.

The ties that bind …
“In 1990, Colonel Herbert Alboth, a former commander of the Swiss secret stay-behind army P26 declared in a confidential letter to the Defence Department that he was willing to reveal “the whole truth”. He was later found in his house, stabbed with his own military bayonet. The detailed parliamentary report on the Swiss secret army was presented to the public on November 17, 1990.[33] According to The Guardian, “P26 was backed by P27, a private foreign intelligence agency funded partly by the government, and by a special unit of Swiss army intelligence which had built up files on nearly 8,000 “suspect persons” including “leftists”, “bill stickers”, “Jehovah’s witnesses”, people with “abnormal tendencies” and anti-nuclear demonstrators. On November 14, the Swiss government hurriedly dissolved P26 – the head of which, it emerged, had been paid £100,000 a year.”[85]
In 1991, a report by Swiss magistrate Pierre Cornu was released by the Swiss defence ministry. It said that P26 was without “political or legal legitimacy”, and described the group’s collaboration with British secret services as “intense”. “Unknown to the Swiss government, British officials signed agreements with the organisation, called P26, to provide training in combat, communications, and sabotage. The latest agreement was signed in 1987… P26 cadres participated regularly in training exercises in Britain… British advisers – possibly from the SAS – visited secret training establishments in Switzerland.” P26 was led by Efrem Cattelan, known to British intelligence.[86]”

The problem for the “general public” and mere mortals like us, is to decide to whom acts of violence should be attributed. Is it the “enemy” or someone pretending to be the enemy, in order to pursue some clandestine objective: heightened fear in the population; ability to pass legislation to restrict the rights of citizens and increase the powers of the state. Thanks to the internet predominately, the public is becoming wiser to this ploy, and perhaps less malleable and naive? No wonder the much-government-hyped murder of Drummer Rigby (drummers hold a particular place in the affections of the public) was followed by Theresa May’s calls not only to extend e-mail tracing but also powers to control expression on the BBC and internet. Following the outrage that was 9/11 we shall never be able to fully trust the interpretation put on them by government, or government itself.
The circumstances surrounding the death of Drummer Rigby are indeed horrific. It is to be condemned unconditionally. However it is the immediate, orchestrated reaction (some might say over-reaction) of the government and the SS links over many years with the perpetrators, not to mention the silencing of the source that revealed the fact, that leads to the suspicion that secret agencies might be involved. Some have argued this went as far as a theatrical event, which seems far fetched. But what if the actions of the two were inspired and encouraged by agents of the state, or even just that agents of the state knew to greater or lesser extent, something was intended and did nothing to forestall it? Are either of those possibilities? If they were, we take it as a given that the government would never admit to it, indeed would actively seek to cover it up.
“Until well into the 19th century, western armies recruited young boys to act as drummers. The drums were an important part of the battlefield communications system, with various drum rolls used to signal different commands from officers to troops.[1] Although there were usually official age limits, these were often ignored; the youngest boys were sometimes treated as mascots by the adult soldiers. The life of a drummer boy appeared rather glamorous and as a result, boys would sometimes run away from home to enlist.[2] Other boys may have been the sons or orphans of soldiers serving in the same unit.[3] The image of a small child in the midst of battle was seen as deeply poignant by 19th century artists, and idealised boy drummers were frequently depicted in paintings, sculpture and poetry.”

“Mr Bertrand, who was close to ex-President Jacques Chirac, liked to remain in the shadows but was nevertheless propelled into the spotlight in 2008 when extracts from 23 of his diaries were published in the press.
The diaries, which revealed rumours about the private and professional lives of politicians and other personalities, had previously been seized by authorities as part of a probe into the Clearstream affair.
That scandal erupted just ahead of the 2007 elections and centred on a fake list of names that falsely implicated the then presidential candidate Nicolas Sarkozy in kickbacks on arms deals with Taiwan.
The Renseignements Generaux no longer exist, having merged in 2008 with another agency to create the DCRI – France’s domestic intelligence service.”

“In the initial period after the Nazi surrender U.S. counterintelligence attempted to track down all leads to Mueller. Information reached U.S. army intelligence that Gestapo Mueller had taken the assumed name Schwartz or Schwatzer and had gone south from Berlin with another Gestapo official Christian A. Scholz. But no traces of either man were ever found.12 In 1947, British and American authorities twice searched the home of Gestapo Mueller’s mistress Anna Schmid for clues, but found nothing suggesting that Mueller was still alive. With the onset of the Cold War and the shift of resources to the Soviet target, the assumption took hold in U.S. intelligence that Gestapo Mueller was dead.” http://www.archives.gov/iwg/declassified-records/rg-263-cia-records/rg-263-mueller.html
Strangely Bertrand’s death appears under-reported in the British press on the basis of a Google search. He was of course in charge of French Intelligence, and no doubt privy to much confidential information, at the time of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.
“The Second “Clearstream affair” was a political scandal in France in the run-up to the 2007 presidential election.
The name refers to the Luxembourg bank Clearstream Banking S.A., now wholly owned by Deutsche Börse, which was alleged to have aided many prominent French politicians and companies evade taxes. It was also suggested that Clearstream might have helped French individuals and companies to launder money arising from bribes surrounding the 1991 sale of six La Fayette class frigates to the Republic of China. Clearstream denied the allegations.” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clearstream_affair
A trial that has come to be known as the Clearstream affair, pitting the former prime minister Dominique de Villepin against Nicolas Sarkozy, ended in Paris today, after four weeks of hearings featuring spies, allegations of dirty tricks, forged documents and ambition and treachery at the highest levels of the French state.
De Villepin, an aristocratic former diplomat and foreign minister and a part-time poet, known internationally for his pre-Iraq war speech to the United Nations, is accused of plotting to damage Sarkozy’s political career by allowing documents falsely linking his rival to an alleged organised crime and kickback ring to reach judges investigating an arms deal dating from the 1990s.
The trial has received intense media coverage in France, sparked partly by the revelations from within the corridors of power, and partly by the sparring between the two politicians, rivals at the time of the alleged offences to succeed an ageing President Jacques Chirac as the head of the French right. The pair have never made any secret of their animosity.
The two men accused of being at the origin of the plot – a senior defence executive and strategist, Jean-Louis Gergorin, and a Lebanese-born computer specialist, Imad Lahoud — face jail.
One peak of interest was when two of France’s most senior spies were called as witnesses. However the trial has largely fuelled a deep cynicism about the nation’s elite, and the exercise and abuse of power.

Edward Heath a German spy?
Markus Wolf http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Markus_Wolf
“Lone Wolf”
The real story is far more complex, as it is more likely that a first responder or victim to a mass shooting will be a military veteran than the shooter. Irrespective of their military status, these kind of killers are often depressed, socially and psychologically itinerant adult males whose significant and defining life setbacks in career or relationships create a festering anger that explodes into violence against a symbolic target. These targeted locations and innocent people are the sincere focus of aggression in the contorted thinking of someone whose anger and belief system leads them to settle a score and reaffirm their self worth by achieving notoriety through violence. A violent act transforms them from losers to warriors for a cause that is bigger than they are, and they are hitting back, not only on behalf of themselves, but for others who faced similar unfairness from an uncaring society.
The three main categories of extremist aggressors are listed below, and usually one is the primary element with an offender, with at least one other playing a secondary supporting role:
. The Ideologically Motivated (Religious, Political or Hybrid)
. The Psychologically Dangerous (Sociopath or Cognitively Impaired)
. Personal Benefit or Revenge

@All
With all due respect to the commentators on the site of Mr.Craig Murray, I say again now that we, here on this blog, do not discuss what they write. Neither do we refer to their comments or knock them. Anyone who refers to them from now will find that I have not passed the comment. If you want to discuss a comment on that site, then you do the decent and correct thing, and discuss it on that site where the commentator can reply.
Now why would she want to say that?
Oops! Looks as if my couple of contributions to the MZT might have set the cat amongst the pigeons! I wonder what it was?
Shrimpton claims helped avert two assassination attempts on Gordon Brown. The first he says was in 2005 but in fact it appears the relevant incident details relate to 2004 @ here:
http://www.pprune.org/archive/index.php/t-155029.html
(I thought James might appreciate this and even throw light on it!)
He claims that an IRA unit was launched from a FRENCH frigate off the coast of Cornwall. That the French shot down one of our Lynx helicopters sent to investigate which was hushed up. The team run he claims by German Intelligence (he has a thing about German Intelligence) were to use a Barrett M82. He claims he warned the Germans off and the British Government and the attempt was not pursued.
Shrimpton’s account is @ 1.19.30 @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=LoFEB0x6w0E&feature=endscreen if you want to watch.
He claims “The Shooter” was based on the circumstances suitably camouflaged. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooter_(film)
Mind you considering how wrong he was in relation to the Obama and Cameron outcomes, not to mention the fate of the Lisbon Treaty his assessment of past events may be more reliable than predicting the future. Or is it just they are taking longer to develop? Efforts to oust Cameron and withdraw from the EC are two of his predictions that are far from theoretical and may even, behind the scenes, partly explain the events at Woolwich!
Tim
Not sure what to think about Shrimpton to be honest.
Is he just “picking” unexplained events ? I don’t know.
The “Crab Air” (Fly Navy, eat crab) incident did indeed happen.
It was December 2004.
Some facts…
Four RN ships where operating in that area…and one French.
Two crew members were flying the Lynx (as is the norm).
A MOB (Man Overboard) came from one of the HMS’s
The Lynx was “re tasked” adding another two crew members to it for the SAR role (search and rescue). Not sure if it was re tasked on land or on ship.
It would appear it lost contact for a period of time (Radar or Radio Comms I don’t know) but the “it would appear” to have made contact again (although at first it was said that there was no contact before the incident).
It then “went down”. The wreckage indicated it was a vertical fall from around 100 feet.
All crews on 4 x HMS and 1 x French were accounted for in a role call. The MOB was said to have come from two ratings on one of the HMS’s.
No ideas have come forward from this crash (inquiry was in 2009).
However no “recorders” were carried (see also Mull of Kintyre crash).
Flying has it’s dangers.
Flying at “night”, over sea, low level has more of them.
Flying in an “eggbeater” is a risky business anyway (my view).
The impact was (or appears) to have been during “static flight” hence I would imagine a vertical “drop” and then the crash site.
Shrimpton does pick “strange” crashes it would appear, but then throws “his own view” as to what happened.
An IRA crew being launched from a French warship ? The “PIRA” weren’t the first people I would have gone to if I wanted a “job” doing, that’s for sure. They ran a very “leaky ship” …and were in conversation with the “British” for many, many years.
Don’t know what to make of Shrimpton to be honest.
“Hindsight” can be a “powerful” friend !
Thanks for your assessment James. Interesting. As you say, there was indeed a French warship there as Shrimpton says. He obviously claims the official story of navy guys “hearing voices” was partly cover and partly true if the voices were IRA ones. I too am wary of him and have only just discovered him on You Tube though clearly he has been around a long time. (“No offence intended”)His detailed knowledge of constitutional law and cases is impressive, as it is of spymasters and covert operations. He appears to have outstanding knowledge of and access to top politicians both east and west. I am in no position to comment on his assertion that it is German Intelligence that is behind both American and Russian set-up and that it not only infiltrated MI6 but had British Prime Ministers and Cabinet Members actually working for them. For example he claims that they not only provided Ted Heath with “Silver Cloud”, but sank it as well in a “hissy fit” when he wouldn’t play ball. Of course he also makes the astounding claim that not only did Jimmy Saville provide him with boys from Haut de la Garenne, but that they were murdered on board and cast into the sea! I wonder if he would make such a claim were Heath still alive? This is but one of numerous such extraordinary assertions but I find it a little surprising that no where in his analysis do Russian, American or Israeli covert actions figure. Does he for some reason, have a blind spot?

I don’t think MZT is trying to suppress anything other than what she sees as bad manners (and I agree with her). I’m pretty sure you are free to post whatever ideas you like on her blog (your ideas might get ridiculed by some of the posters but that is another matter)
I am a bit surprised, no-one has commented on the Channel 4 Al Hilli programme tonight (6.6.13) timed obviously to mark nine months since it happened. I think its fair to say it promised more than it delivered but there were a few new tid-bits.
For example we were able to SEE for the first time Philippe Didierjean/Bossy for the first time, and nice chap he was too. Though unless I missed it, I don’t think he was named. I think we have to thank Mario Zanni, the Swiss Prosecutor for that.
The programme repeats the line that WBM as he was cycling away, met the “hiker”. There is pointedly no mention of him being in a car or having to female companions or that they both went back to the scene together. I suppose this could be put down to oversight but after nine months to get the story straight, it would be a very big one.
Nor is the story of him suspecting WBM and attempting to land a punch, with the former French story. It would only make sense if he came upon the scene and found Martin there. He almost says as much when he says he thought he would be next to be shot – presumably by Martin.
Of course the question hangs in the air as to why the official French account could be so wrong and remain uncorrected for so long?
Now another point the film perpetuates is that the 3.15 pm photograph is reliable (which I firmly question) but perhaps even more significantly, a logical consequence, that the Al Hilli’s actually overtook Sylvain Mollier going up the mountain road and that they were shot almost immediately on arrival after SM had arrived also.
There are several problems with this scenario previously discussed, not least the fact that IF they overtook SM they must also have overtaken WBM who was following only minutes behind Mollier. So if this sequence of events were true, we would have to ask why did Martin not refer to it?
The programme makers lose points for not challenging this version of accounts which is unsustainable.
Didierjean/Bossy refers for the first time, the rather gory detail of the large hole he noticed in SAH’s head “the size of a Euro” I believe. I am not a ballistics expert but it may be worth posing the question to those that are, would this be expected of a normal 7.65 mm bullet from an old Luger?
What is quite interesting are some of the graphics in the film in relation to Mollier and his bike’s locationand what they reveal. We must assume after all this time they have got it right. It’s significant because first it is DIFFERENT from ALL the early graphics in the French press, presumably reflecting what their police sources told them. These all had Mollier and his bike lying prone on the NEARSIDE FRONT QUARTER of the car. This film has him lying on the OPPOSITE side and his bike a little further off.
Not only does this accord with the blood stains and makes sense as I am pleased to say I argued from the first, it also scotches the police account that the circular tyre tracks were Al Hilli’s and that he struck Mollier in the process. Apart from the impossibility of geometry and sequencing earlier discussed, the bike in that location would have been in the way. It would have to have been run over. It was UNDAMAGED so this could not have happened.
Notably Didierier/Bossy stated that Mollier “was at the back of the car”. Perhaps he just means it was on the far side as he approached up the hill. In any event it confirms the body lay on the the near/LHS of the BMW not the right.
It also confirms Mollier was shot in the BACK from which it is reasonable to infer he had a moment of realisation, and attempted to run as did Saad who made it back to the driver’s seat of the car. This is significant because it proves they had a few seconds of warning as distinct from a hidden sniper. Further the attacker(s) must have approached from the top end of the car park. (How else can one explain bullets in the back on LHS of the car or SAH managing to get back to the driver’s seat?)
As to the cartridges found this was initially fifteen increased to 25 on the second day after the car was moved and searched. The C4 film says it was 21. This is a significant discrepancy that no one explains.
The film also highlights the contrast between the approach to the Al Hillis and to the Molliers. It does not however ask of the French authorities why this should be. Nor does it delve into the family’s fascinating history that would have revealed all the intriguing political connections that may provide clues as to cause.
In other words this was description purporting to be investigation and analysis. How long will we have to wait before there is a proper forensic examination of the facts?
*”Nor is the story of him suspecting WBM and attempting to land a punch, COMPATIBLE with the former French story.”

Had to take a look at what you were all saying after the Channel 4 film last night. Funny how EM seems adamant to the point of fury that SM was a completely random element in the tragedy – just someone at the wrong place at the wrong time. I have always thought there was something very strange about SM’s son’s tweets suddenly drying up the day BEFORE the murder. Almost as if SM knew he was heading into a possible dangerous situation and wanted to spend some quality time with his son (from first marriage )
beforehand. Do we know anything about SM’s movements in the previous 24 hours? I suppose the Police obviously must but as was remarked during the programme, there has been a complete lack of any information about SM.
