It’s simply the truth isn’t it? The Scotch Nats would have sought entry to the EU which would have meant an open border: open to the black people, the red people, the white people and the yellow people, and maybe some Oz aboriginals as well if you don’t see them fitting into any of the above.
The only thing objectionable about what the Labour Party was saying in Dundee is that it was hypocritical.; They were accusing the Scotch Nats of intending to do what the Labour Party had already don: “let the black people in,” you know, those admirable Pakis in Glasgow who Craig says, perhaps quite rightly at least from some points of view, have greatly improved the society of the city.

If Scotland separated from the UK it would be outside the EU and would have to negotiate entry. You may know in advance what the outcome would be, I don’t. But in any case if, as I assumed, Scotland was absorbed into the EU with its mighty market of five million people (a few less than Slovakia, wherever the Hell that is) then Scotland will have an open border with the EU, and no means of closing it.
What that means is, the Scotch Nat programme is for the assimilation of the Scottish people into the EU melting pot.
