Had to try several times to get forum post through

@Mods – I had to try several times to post my contribution regarding the rat flea theory of plague transmission to the Crimea thread. It kept disappearing. Dunno why. Just as I was about to post here to tell you, I noticed the greater than symbol and thought maybe that was the problem, so I edited it out and then reposted successfully. Then two copies of the post came up. If five or six come up, please delete all but one. I am not trying to flood the forum!

Same problem here, I have to add something to my nick and change my email (just making up one) to get comments through.

I can assure you, Jack, that no block has been applied to your name or email address, so it’s not obvious why you’re having difficulty posting with those details. It’s seemingly a problem with the Cloudflare web service, which acts as an intermediary to defend the blog against hackers and other malicious or unwanted traffic.

My last attempt at posting this message also disappeared into the ether, so I’ve had to retype it. It is quite a disruptive flaw. I reckon our system administrator needs to adjust the Cloudflare parameters to a more liberal setting.
