New Labour Nomenklatura 9

The fascist initiative of the day today is that we should have a national day, to celebrate “Britishness”. We will all be dragooned into displays of spontaneous happiness, and celebrate our great national achievements, like detention without trial, use of intelligence obtained through torture, and illegal invasion of other countries. What fun!!

Personally I don’t feel the need, having Burns Night and St Andrew’s Day already, This idea sounds to me like the millenium dome in its force-fed awfulness. I can imagine Cherie and Tony in the middle of it all with their rictus grins, and Gordon wrapped yet again in a Union Jack, trying to sound cockney and pretend he’s a fun person.

Anyway two Labour ministers are promoting it today, backed up by an especially egregious creep called Nick Johnson of the Commission of Racial Equality. Johnson was so obviously a New Labour hack that I decided to google him. Lo and behold, I find that there is a view prevalent on the Web that neither Johnson, nor his partner Kate Davies, Chief Executive of the Notting Hill Housing Association, had a great deal to qualify them for their extremely highly paid Quango jobs other than their impeccable NuLab credentials.

Davies had a sociology degree and a postgraduate housing diploma, but not much practical housing administration experience when she was put in charge of one of Britain’s biggest Housing Associations. But she was a New Labour Special Adviser. What qualified the greasy Johnson I have no clue. But they now live in a very expensive address, in Sussex Gardens, at the end without the prostitutes.

Anyone smart enough to find what these NuLab parasites are paid?

I heard someone say (a Scot, doubtless) that this would only be celebrated by the English. But as this whole idiocy has been thought up by a Scotsman desperate to become an Englishman, the English will presumably ignore it was well.

Still, at least this will probably be the last ministerial announcement ever made by the gormless Ruth Kelly. Perhaps come the first British Day she can be ritually burned on a bonfire in Parliament Square while the entire nation watches England losing to Ruritania in the European Champions Qualifiers.

I guessing the most pertinent question is not "how much do they get paid", but how many people need to take voluntary/paid/privileged positions in the name/interests of a political party before they are no longer considered a legitimate party!

At least with the Torrie's it was easy to know… When then stopped paying they switched sides…

Labour now has so many dodgy money ties it's difficult to tell the differnce between anything:

    1) The third way fascihists (belesconiinio et all + 1/3 of the labour party who don't vote BNP yet)

    2) Their weird Federal Reserve links with GWB and the War In The Media

    3) Those *few* guardian buyers/readers (and editors?) who happen to share mucho *shares* with labour politicos?

    4) (The scottish, and Welsh, and Cornish can make there own comments…

A brilliant researcher has emerged, and contributed this for us:

From the documents I've found it looks like Kate Davies as Group Chief exec of Notting Hill Housing Trust (see page 40) year 2006 earned total ?131,000. See attached link to online pdf http://www.nottinghillhousing.org.uk/doc.aspx?id_Resourc... or if you prefer I can email the pdf to you.

A similar pdf document http://www.official-documents.gov.uk/document/hc0… (see page 21)lists Nick Johnson (for the period of 2004-5 when he was Director of Policy and Public Sector) earning 40-45K. Obviously a kept man 🙂

I found a copy of the year 2005-2006 but Nick Johnson doesn't appear to be mentioned in those accounts.

    Next question,

Did Kate Davies get any benefit on top of the ?131,000, like housing or a car?

Now dont exaggerate poor Kate only gets ?113,000 in salary ?7,000 for a car (a lot of driving is required in notting hill!) and ?11,000 in pension costs making a total of ?131,000 just reward for new labour adviser.Incidentally there is a real issue raised by this the way in which the new labour nomenklatura have enriched themselves through the privatisation and quangoisation of the welfare state.

On the original question of Britishness this is of course all part of making Gordon Brown acceptable to the swing voters in London and the South East who dont want him because he is too scottish. It will of course fail Brown will be the shortest lived prime minister since Lord Home and that nice Mr Cameron will become pm in 2009 soon after the scots will vote for independence and then being British will be even more meaningless!
