I admit I was one of those who supported the war in Iraq. Successive revelations have made me realise that I was naive. I had thought that the UK and USA were a civilising influence in world affairs, but now I’m not so sure..
This is why millions protested. It was always going to turn out like this with the way the Americans Hawks were rushing in. Tony Blair, shame on you for joing them. You deserve to go to the Hague and answer to the civilised world for your actions.

I use Sky for quick News updates if I haven’t been online for a while, or when I’ve just woken up. Otherwise I hate the damn thing. On occasions like this, with topics like this, I find them unbearable. I sometimes fire off critical (and borderline abusive) texts to them, to dilute my excess adrenaline!

I was interest(ed) to catch the tail end of a news item half an hour ago of Wikileaks’ press conference in London. I see Assange shared a table with Sloboda of the Iraq Body Count, among others. I missed Sloboda’s full speech, but was intrigued to see him at the ‘top table’ at the press conference. What is the meaning of this? (I mean this question sincerely. I have followed Medialens’ and Pilger’s questioning of IBC: is there any significance to his presence at Assange’s side?)

Yep, I missed the beginning of the press conference entirely, and I missed Craig being there. I was busy posting on Twitter. But the appearance of IBC (and no mention of the Lancet OR the Opinion Research Business poll) bothered me.

I hope so. If Wikileaks does not follow through soon while the news is hot, with loud criticism of how the data is being misreported in the mainstream media (every death mapped etc.) and is being mistaken among the genuinely attentive observers who they have successfuly reached- It will be as guilty of mishandling data as IBC is.
