Several people have emailed me to call my attention to this article in The Nation, which is well worth reading – I particularly recommend you to follow the links and read the affidavits themselves.
A former Blackwater employee and an ex-US Marine who has worked as a security operative for the company have made a series of explosive allegations in sworn statements filed on August 3 in federal court in Virginia. The two men claim that the company’s owner, Erik Prince, may have murdered or facilitated the murder of individuals who were cooperating with federal authorities investigating the company. The former employee also alleges that Prince “views himself as a Christian crusader tasked with eliminating Muslims and the Islamic faith from the globe,” and that Prince’s companies “encouraged and rewarded the destruction of Iraqi life.”

These remain allegations, though they are consistent with a general picture of Blackwater and its operations. Mercenaries are, after all, killers for hire. They are paid murderers, no matter how they try to glamorise themselves. That their leaders are ruthless individuals is a matter of course. Sadly, bringing anyone associated with the rape of Iraq to justice is viewed as undesirable by both the Democratic and Republican establishments, so I expect Mr Prince is safe to enjoy his money, his passion for killing and his neo-Templar fantasies.

Goodness, I was walking around Birmingham city centre during much of today and saw no trouble. I saw some police officers standing near the Rotunda – but there are often police in Birmingham city centre, so I thought no more of it. But just now in the Sunday Mercury it says that there was violence there, and areas in which I was wandering happily were sealed off three hours later!

Last weeks BGG, the big green gathering, was cancelled due to the police fire brigade and council, after already having accepted that the BGG had fullfilled all the necessarry requirements to run the fair,came up with some new requirements some five day before the fair.
result was that the BGG management would have been liable for prosecution.
The true reason was that the authorities who m,ust have received an order from central Government, did not want direct action groups to meet up and cooperate and raise money for groups like climate camp, so what wil now happen is that the BGG will go into bankruptcy and be wound up unless they find a last minute solution.
Meanwhile on the other spectrum, the police is fostering organised crime by watching over a highly successfull bulldog bash, a fair were you can get killed if you tread on peoples toes, organised by the Hells Angels. That was not injuncted at the last minute and they would not have heeded such desperation anyway.
The Government will not succeed to stop people meeting up and coordinating their actions.
By stopping law abiding legitamit protesters and their families having fun for five days, in the greenest way possible, whilst allowing non political organised crime to garner support, build up their network of connections and deals, this Government is complicit in any of the crimes that result from this meeting, Jerry Tobin was just a very popular death last year.
But then I am not a lawyer. This is what happens all over the country and Blackwater fits into this, just as our own outfits of the same ilk, they are all feeding on taxpayers money to do their dirty business, another indication that we are well into a pre revolutionary state of affairs.
I would like to add to this another example, showing how much this country is dripping to the right.

A BBC report dated at 15.13pm today says that police are describing them as football fans.
‘Police said Saturday’s rally was made up of football fans calling themselves the English and Welsh Defence League and Casuals United.
The counter-protest was organised by campaign group Unite Against Fascism, West Midlands Police said.’
If it was the other way round, we would be hearing of Muslims, terrorists, and plots and the tanks would be at Heathrow by now.
