Gould-Werritty Plot Finally Mainstream 177

The Independent on Sunday have bitten the bullet and openly questioned what Matthew Gould was doing in all those meetings with Adam Werritty, and why Gus O’Donnell lied about them.

They have an interesting new line from an FCO spokesman:

“The FCO has total confidence that Matthew Gould has acted appropriately at all times and at no stage was he acting independently, or out of line with government policy,” a spokesman said yesterday.

So “British Ambassador Matthew Gould declared his commitment to Israel and the principles of Zionism on Thursday” – Jerusalem Post 29 May 2011 is therefore a statement of official British government policy. Good to know.

We have not only at last made the mainstream media, we have made the mainstream counter-media:

Were not blair and bush convicted of war crimes in some asian country?

The Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal found the former heads of state guilty after a four-day hearing. A seven-member panel chaired by former Malaysian Federal Court judge Abdul Kadir Sulaiman presided over the trial.

The five panel tribunal unanimously decided that the former US and British leaders had committed crimes against peace and humanity, and also violated international law when they ordered the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

The prosecutors at the hearing ruled that the invasion of Iraq was a flagrant abuse of law, and act of aggression which amounted to a mass murder of the Iraqi people.

Gould has plans for a move.
    .
Gould has his eye on Kfar Shmaryahu, where many of the houses would give him far greater scope for indoor entertaining than he has in the current residence, where the public rooms are somewhat small, and where theater- style, sit-down functions have been rather cramped.
    .
Some very famous people have been guests at the British residence, but this is not likely to be a selling point with any real estate developer, whose first thought will be to assess how many apartments he can build on the land. Quite a lot actually, if he gets a permit.

    Craig,
Well done for blowing the cobwebs off, and spotlighting the unaccountability and collusion of agents of reaction, despite the difficulties of such an enterprise. Further, dog on you for ridding the board from the inane tosser “stephen” engaged in regurgitating an endless loop of unconscious drivel; hasbara.

“Sir Gus claimed last week that “some of those … took place before the election”.”
    .
So GO’D knows about these meetings.
WHEN did he know about them,
what information was he given about them
    and from who.

Recently put this with a link to the Telegraph article on my Facebook account.
    .
“I’m very pleased to announce that after Craig Murray’s persistence, and that of Paul Flynn M. P. and others who have tried to bring things into the open today’s Independent on Sunday has taken up the baton. Congratulations to Brian Brady. Perhaps now we can start to find out who else needs to resign as well as Liam Fox. All those involved in Atlantic Bridge, no doubt.”
    .
You’re starting to get somewhere, Craig, and the more this story unfolds the more we’ll discover what a can of worms the whole shady business is.

William Hague will have a busy week, first trying to explain to parliament why UK special forces are targetting civilians in Syria, trying to foment rebelion and civil war, and secondly trying to explain why it is categorically not UK policy to attack Iran, in spite of the evidence to the contrary.
He is well capable of the job, as slimy as my M.P. Liam Byrne, and it’s good to know that after a hard week’s lying he can relax on the moors with a flask of tea and know that the UK has not been let down.

It certainly brightened up my morning when I saw the unthinkable. MSM reporting this story.I truly hope that it does not disappear like the pulled article from the Guardian.
You must have them buzzing around like little flies looking for plausible excuses.this must be the mother of all conspiracies to have been totally silenced. You must be very proud of the feather you just earned. Well done !!!

Zabludowicz gave £100,000, in two tranches,to the Tories on 28/07/09.
He (as Tamares Real Estate UK) gave £115,000 to the Tories on 07/04/10
Tamares donated £15,000 to Cameron in 2005.

Zabludowicz donated £2500 each to Burton, Finchley, Harlow and Watford constituency associations in early 2010.
    Burton:Andrew Griffiths
Finchley: Mike Freer…Vice President of APPG on Antisemitism
    Harlow: Robert Halfon, of course
Watford: Richard Harrington, former Chairman, Executive Board of Conservative Friends of Israel, Conservative Party Treasurer to 2010. Gets a mention here, too:

    Well done Komodo.
    ,
I see Powerbase is a venture initiated by Spinwatch in collaboration with Lobbywatch, GMWatch, Red Star Research and Corporate Watch, but put into effect by a wide variety of volunteers and independent researchers.

From Spinwatch. This is a piece by their excellent Tamasin Cave on lobbyists. She writes:
    .
‘Without irony, the minister in charge of introducing lobbying transparency regulations, Mark Harper, is refusing to release details of his discussions with lobbyists over lobbying transparency rules.
    .
SpinWatch submitted an FOI request to the cabinet office in August 2010. Fourteen months on, the release of the information is still being blocked.
    .
Now is the time that our politicians need to prove that their relationship with the people of this country counts more than their friendships with lobbyists.’

Excellent stuff. I am impressed that the Indie hasn’t hedged its bets my burying the article several links deep, where no-one will find it. Right now, it occupies the 6th position on the front page.

Here’s a link to an article about the Bush-Blair trial.

    http://stopwar.org.uk/index.php/tony-blair-watch/946-george-bush-and-tony-blair-found-guilty-in-malaysia-war-crimes-trial

If only it were at the International Court of Justice! There’s a good few people who’d hold a street-party – even in the depths of winter.

Craig – congratulations on making the front page in the Indie. And may I second Brobof in requesting a ‘tweet’ button – I’ve already been ‘modded’ once on the Guardian for posting a link to your site!

That was deleted for incomprehensibility. Does Apax own the Guardian? Please make your comment a self-sufficient explanation.

  • John Goss

Those who have only read the online article in today’s Independent on Sunday will not know that there is a montage of Craig Murray, Matthew Gould, and Gus O’Donnell in the hard copy of the newspaper. Very smart.

I don’t understand twitter. But I believe those who follow me on twitter get an automatic tweet when I blog something, which they can then retweet? Or something. There is a twitter button top right of the blog – no idea what it does.

  • Komodo

    Craig,
I have commented elsewhere on this blog, with chapter and verse, on the sale by Guardian Media Group of half of Trader Media to Apax (founder and trustee, noted Labour Party donor Sir Ronald Cohen, recipient of the Jubilee Award for services to Israeli business from Netanyahu’s own hands). And on the miraculous appearance of a dividend from Trader this year which boosted GMG’s cash base by £50 M. The Guardian lost £54 M last year. I did not pluck this from thin air, it took time to assemble.
The Guardian is up shit creek financially (Rusbridger said something to that effect recently)
Apax is a premier investor in Israel.
Why, I ask myself, has the Grauniad become so squeamish

The Nation (Pakistan) has an article reviewing the story so far. Among other things, it states that “senior British government officials were profoundly disturbed by the O’Donnell inquiry, seeing it as a ‘white wash.'”
    .
The same story (exact same text) appears in Online BBC News. Neither source acknowledges the other. Is that odd?

Mary (and other willing parties) The record of electoral donations by individuals and corporations to all Parliamentary parties, and some associated organisations, can be downloaded in spreadsheet form from the Electoral Commission:

It’s not complete, and it doesn’t always match the Register of Interests, but it provides starting points when Following The Money – always the most revealing approach, if admittedly not the most interesting.

Courtney, a short and swift analysis. Irans counter reaction is unfortunate, but we asked for it. Craigs story very much proofs the point that our foreign policy resolve is seriously managed by rogue states outside NATo and outside our common Interest in Europe.
Where is the opposition to these warmongers, how dare they conspire to take down Iran, like a bunch of outlaws riding into town guns blazing.
If the Lib Dems are part to this conspiratorial international tripartite, the coalition of the damned, are we not in effect acting like Anders Breivig? we are plannig to attack innocent people with malice and intent?
Iraq’s tribal future is marked by the explosions that occure with peristaltic regularity.

Forgot the last sentence, sorry. Do we really want the whole middle east, including return to these religiously infused chiefdoms of pre 1900?
    Rule by division and chaos.
