this bias in my own case has had the opposite effect and i guess a lot of people having found out the truth about our referendum and its implications indeed answers to the pointless relentless questions of the naw sayers i could hold a meaningful Q & A with any dumb labour politician lets face it they are being found out how utterly useless they are to the people up here who mistakenly have voted for them and i am looking forward to one just one of the “NO” not ever lot knocking on my door please please let me have some bloody fun with them my first question would be don’t you feel embarrassed telling your own people lies and why are you taking part in the biggest deception since the rubber tank ploy used during the second world war to deceive the germans you by campaigning for the “NO” side are trying to fool ordinary people into voting for what will be regarded as mass fraud and disgraceful deception

Gaza is like Northern Ireland in the good old days, only with more ordnance and disproportionate slaughter.

To give the BBC credit, the presenter interviewing Regev in the video on this link
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-28097164 completely demolished Regev’s accusations about Hamas.

Presenter: What evidence do you have that Hamas did this?

    Regev: It is crystal clear…….

    Repeated again.

Regev who has turned a strange shade of mahogany, used the word ‘Hamas’ a dozen times in the 1min 41sec clip.

The new CEO of HAH Ltd, formerly BAA, announces increased landing fees for Heathrow to help pay for a third runway. What third runway? Have they obtained permission?

It’s his first day on the job and said that the T5 baggage problems ‘have been solved’. Bad start and bad PR Mr Holland-Kaye to tell such porkies.

These passengers would agree. 6 days now without their luggage which is spread around the world.

Heathrow baggage chaos ‘to last for days’ http://www.standard.co.uk/news/transport/heathrow-baggage-chaos-to-last-for-days-9572401.html

You would imagine Heathrow Airport Holdings Ltd, formerly BAA, is British owned. Not at all.

    Company information

Our company, Heathrow Airport Holdings Limited (formerly BAA) owns and runs London Heathrow Airport, Britain’s aviation hub, as well as a number of other UK airports – Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton.

No. Israel has no alleged claim to Gaza, having discarded it. More like Ireland generally before the Easter Rising, but that too would be a poor analogy.

The new Forth Crossing is a Scottish Government initiated, planned and funded project. Nothing to do with London and the UK. Ditto the wind turbines, which are Scottish Government backed. Scotland is ahead of targets for renewables. What did the SNP Government do? toughened up the targets on evidence that they can be met. No resting on achieved laurels.

Oh and those carriers, which the UK cannot afford to man or put planes on, will be built here regardless. The Scottish navy will need ships and we can actually encourage the yards to bid for outside work and/or oil work as the Norwegian yards do.

So you see all those points are actually arguments that Scotland is better off doing it for ourselves. That prosperity is driven by devolution. Think what we can do with all the economic and social levers? If your friends think they are because we are ‘better together’ then they are badly misinformed. Not surprising with our media mind. Point them towards Wings, Newsnet, Bella etc.

  • Kempe

“The Scottish navy will need ships and we can actually encourage the yards to bid for outside work and/or oil work as the Norwegian yards do. ”

What would Scotland want with a blue-water navy? A handful of small patrol ships would be more than adequate and that’s not going to keep even one yard going. There’s nothing to stop them bidding for external work now.

  • Muscleguy

    @Kempe

The SNP have promised to pick up our responsibility to patrol the Iceland Gap again. Something NATO is annoyed that the UK has stopped doing. The UK has ships to chase drugs in the Caribbean but not monitor home waters.

So yes, we will need some blue water capacity as our economic interests extend into the Atlantic seaboard and up into the Arctic.

BTW at the moment there are NO surface vessels based in Scotland. Nothing closer than Portsmouth to protect the North Sea oil installations.

BTW have you looked at a map of Scotland lately? have you seen our coastline? with all the islands we have more coastline than the rUK and a greater Atlantic exposure.

We may not need the ability to project capital ships across the globe but that doesn’t mean we will just have a some fisheries patrol boats. Speaking of which did you know we already have those? Scotland operates a number of fisheries patrol boats independently of Westminster and the MoD right now.

I respectfully suggest you inform yourself a bit better before commenting on Scottish issues as you seem not very well informed on many issues.

  • Kempe

That still doesn’t constitute a blue water navy nor enough demand to keep the remaining yards in business.

  • Ba'al Zevul (Chimp Assassin)

Except UK plc’s preference for dodgy finance as a source of income, and its ongoing discouragement of investment in big manufacturing projects. Remember that Sheffield foundry? It won’t even back English manufacturing.

The cards are about to be redealt, with luck.
