Standard Life Far Right Board 401

Standard Life’s Far Right Board needs exposing:

Keith Skeoch, Executive Director of Standard Life, is on the Board of Reform Scotland, the neo-conservative lobby group which wants to abolish the minimum wage, privatize the NHS and pensions, and still further restrict trade unions.

It is difficult for Tories openly to campaign against Scottish Independence as everyone in Scotland hates them, so they do it with their corporate hats on. This is most of the board of Standard Life:

Garry Grimstone, Chairman, “lead non-executive” at the Ministry of Defence, London

Keith Skeoch, Executive Director, right wing political lobbyist

Crawford Gillies, Non Executive Director, Chairman of Control Risk Group, of London, the “security consultancy” of choice for ex MI5 and MI6 officers

Noel Harwerth, non-executive Director, Director of “London First” – [Honestly, I am not making this up]

David Nish – Chief Executive, Member of the “UK Strategy Committee” of “TheCity UK”. “TheCity UK” being a body of the City of London.

John Paynter, non-executive Director, was vice chairman of JP Morgan Cazenove until the 2008 crash

Amazing that lot oppose independence, huh?

Standard Life also threatened to leave at the time of the devolution referendum and gave out No campaign materials to staff. “Leave” of course is a relative concept – the above bunch just pop up from London from time to time to check on how the serfs are doing.

I published this information on 27 February when they last tried to influence the independence debate. Standard Life is again trying today to influence the referendum campaign by a press release claiming it will move key departments to London in the event of independence, enthusiastically amplified by the BBC, Guardian and all the other reactionary media.

Well, here is an opposing press release, from me. If anybody thinks that an Independent Scotland will be a place where major strategic companies can still be controlled by swivel-eyed right wing ideologues, they may get a very nasty shock from the people of Scotland.

@Ben re 9/11. Michael Moore did a pretty good job of exposing Bush connections with the Saudi Royal family in “Dude, where’s my country?”

His provocative suggestions were backed up by fact:

    http://web.archive.org/web/20011108145853/http://www.tampatrib.com/MGA3F78EFSC.html

The implication behind “Hey Dude…” was that the Saudi Royal family had done some sort of deal with the Bushes after 9/11. We know that Enron already had some sort of deal with the Taliban about a pipeline in Afghanistan, which may not have been to the House of Saud’s liking. Was the Saudi connection to 9/11 – clearly not just Michael Moore being speculative – ever fully investigated?

“Slavery was not abolished, it was refined and it evolved”

It was one of those Grand Bargains in Congress which made them ‘equal under the Law’, but not equal to whites that consigned them to an additional century of servitude and the vote. I think if Lincoln had just waited until slavery died in the rest of the World, they would have been better off in the long run. The 14th amendment was considered a victory, even amongst blacks at the time, but it extended the misery.

Saudi Royal family had done some sort of deal with the Bushes after 9/11

Bandar (ex ambassador to US, later head of secret services) “Bu$h” bin Sultan was the second person to be told of the intentions of the Bu$h the younger, after he had talked the matter over with his daddy and choose on Cheney as his vice.

We know that Enron already had some sort of deal with the Taliban about a pipeline in Afghanistan

Enron was the piggy bank, it was UNOCAL that was signing contracts with Taliban and flying the Taliban to Sugarland Texas (HQ), soon after the Argentinians were kicked to touch with their plans for the pipeline.

The whole stinking game plans is about fiat money and maintenance of its value, through manufactured crisis. US was bankrupt in 2000, however the world played along because the morons, had no other alternative to the ruinous US model. That is the price that Empire of evil has exacted, world devoid of models due to paucity of ideas. Everyone of the models forwarded are based on the ape ancestors and revert back to type; show of genitals as a sign of strength and virility, application of the big stick and the club as a sign of power, subjugation of the lesser apes because; it is good to be the king/queen/POTUS/Tinpot Dictator.

Well, on this sad anniversary of 11th September, I can only add to the debate about the ‘morals’ & ‘strategy’ of the Saudis by recalling that I once met General(retd.) Idi Amin in a supermarket in Jiddah.

In those days there were many Saudi nationals from both the Tabuk-northern western corner & the Dammam eastern coast being silently ‘disappeared’ due slightly wrong flavor of islam. I concurred with Kim Philby senior that the more one got to know the muttawah/wahabbites the more one realized just how ignorant AND arrogant they were. are. and rich, spoilt, childish…

In my company we had to regularly fly the KSA minister for communications to Bangkok/Pattaya for ‘conferences’ in order to win contracts; it is a varied and beautiful country, run by a corrupt, hypocritical, nepotistic & devious elite of politicians – so at least we are now back to the Westminster discussion!

“In less than two hours, the Lear landed at the Blue Grass airport, where the passengers were met by Saudi security officials, Grossi said. He and Perez saw several private 747s parked on the tarmac with foreign flags on the tails and Arabic lettering on the sides.

Within the hour, the Lear took off again for Tampa with Grossi and Perez. Neither would say how much they were paid.

But the Lear was not headed back to Fort Lauderdale, Grossi said the pilot told him. It was bound for New Orleans to pick up someone who needed a ride to New York.

Grossi said he doesn’t recall the name of the aircraft company providing the jet.

“Who knows who they really were,” Grossi said. “It was certainly somebody important to obtain clearance to fly.”

Several private 747’s sure got there quick, eh Peacewisher?

It is such a give away! The violent and murderous stooge of the same forces of reaction, taking refuge among the stooges of the same forces of reaction, while the world is passing by.

If I recollect correctly Yamani had the biggest collection of pornographic material in the world.

Did you notice the unsophisticated and brutal enforcement of the Islamic prayer times and prayers by the same goons who routinely abuse anyone they come across to promote Islamic values?

““In some ways, it’s more dangerous today,” Timothy Roemer, who was a member of both the Joint Inquiry and the 9/11 Commission, observed. “A more complex series of threats are coming together than even before 9/11, involving ISIS, Al Qaeda, and cyber-terrorist capabilities. The more the American people know about what happened thirteen years ago, the more we can have a credible, open debate” about our security needs. Releasing the twenty-eight pages, he said, might be a step forward. “Hopefully, after some initial shock and awe, it would make our process work better. Our government has an obligation to do this.””

    http://www.911truth.org/twenty-eight-pages/

The Saudis claim publicly they want the 28 pages released. It’s highly unlikely they are being genuine. If it damages US/Saudi relations, sobeit.

@Ben re 13/9: It sure looks suspicious, if they don’t come clean and say why. They could say these were important people who had important business deals elsewhere… It seems there are quite a few facts around 9/11 that haven’t been officially acknowledged… especially the free-fall collapse of the third building, which again would have a reasonable explanation… done with explosives for safety reasons. Question is – why the silence? It just encourages speculation, paranoia, and conspiracy theories…

  • lysias

The offered explanation for WTC7 (demolished for safety reasons) wouldn’t make sense, because it takes days to prepare a controlled demolition.

Well perhaps they were on a bonus to prepare the base a lot quicker, Lysias.

It’s the lack of an explanation that is perplexing…

From what i recall they did have Blackouts in thee towers in the Weeks leading up to 9/11.. With Jeb bush being in charge of security for the Twin towers.

  • Ben

As to WT7 there is too much window-dressing obscuring the view; too many engineers willing to niggle the details. But as PW and Brian say, it’s a bridge too far to believe it went down without some intent having nothing to do with the main towers.

Hi Brian, also a point of interest the other Bu$h that is Marvin Bu$h the president’s younger brother, was a principal in a company called Securacom that provided security for the World Trade Center, United Airlines, and Dulles International Airport.

Also the insurance company that refused to insure the WTC as Larry Silverstein WTC Leaseholder May Collect Up To $4.6B

Clearly the nineteen Arab hijackers were the most deadliest force ever in the history of this planet, although none of them could fly a kite never mind an jet, and they were armed with Stanley knives.

Arctic fossil fuel. The genuine reason for sanctions.

Ben it is not the oil, it is the trading of oil! Oil on its own is useless (yeah I know we cannot live without it) but its trading is wot done scarcity!

In fact if oil was at twenty two pounds per barrel at the eve of the Iraq war, and it never rose beyond that, due to more wars, and more nostrums of the same in the “ark of instability” what would have happened to the dollar? It would have been so plentiful that would make Weimar republic run (money printing) look positively mundane.

  • Fedup

Just when you thought it won’t get any weirder!

Ari Fleischer’s tweets and photos provide an extensive play-by-play from inside the Bush brain trust on the day of the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

Out comes the necon mouthpiece to let us about 9/11 and what the POTUS said; “someone has to pay”! No shit Sherlock the whole planet paid and continues to pay to date and well into the future. This is unbelievable the same characters are pulled out to re narrate it all.

  • lysias

It’s very strange that so many sites don’t allow discussion of 9/11, under the pretense that it is not relevant to the issues under discussion. Whereas the fact is that, if 9/11 was a false flag event, or even if the official account is substantially wrong in some other way, that would be highly relevant to all sorts of current issues.

Let’s not forget the anthrax filled letters sent to US politicians and media figures not long after 9/11 and not long after the White House occupants and staff had already started taking the anti-anthrax drug Cipro. The envelopes as well as containing sophisticated anthrax spores contained crude “death to Israel, death to America” type letters implicating the senders as Muslim terrorists. This was assumed to be the case, and the letters were used as further justification for the planned invasion of Iraq.

It was assumed by those figures pushing the pro-war propaganda that the anthrax spores could only have been supplied to the Muslim terrorists by Saddam Hussein – until it was later confirmed the anthrax spores came from a US military lab. The issue was immediately dropped by the TV talking heads, war promoting commentators and politicians like a hot potato.

There’s a new book coming out on this event:
    THE 2001 ANTHRAX DECEPTION
The Case for a Domestic Conspiracy

    By Prof. Graeme MacQueen

“This deeply troubling book should be read by all thinking Americans.”
    Denis J. Halliday, UN Assistant Secretary-General 1994-98

    Synopsis:

The 2001 anthrax letter attacks in the United States killed five people and
wounded dozens. They were widely blamed on extremist Muslims and
their backers and used to support the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

They were also used to justify and hasten the passage of the USA
PATRIOT Act, which was being presented to Congress just as the first
    anthrax victim grew ill.

In October 2001, one of the hypotheses that gained ground was that of
the Double Perpetrator, the claim that al-Qaeda was carrying out the
attacks with the support of Iraq. Much evidence was put forth to support
this Double Perpetrator hypothesis but independent scientists soon
discovered that the anthrax spores came from a domestic lab in the US
serving the military and intelligence communities, not from al-Qaeda or
    Iraq.

The basis of Anglo-American power ever since World War Two has been control of world oil. Once the dollar went off the gold standard under Nixon, that power was exercised through the requirement that international transactions in oil had to be paid in dollars.

    Control of oil means power.
