Standard Life Far Right Board 401

Standard Life’s Far Right Board needs exposing:

Keith Skeoch, Executive Director of Standard Life, is on the Board of Reform Scotland, the neo-conservative lobby group which wants to abolish the minimum wage, privatize the NHS and pensions, and still further restrict trade unions.

It is difficult for Tories openly to campaign against Scottish Independence as everyone in Scotland hates them, so they do it with their corporate hats on. This is most of the board of Standard Life:

Garry Grimstone, Chairman, “lead non-executive” at the Ministry of Defence, London

Keith Skeoch, Executive Director, right wing political lobbyist

Crawford Gillies, Non Executive Director, Chairman of Control Risk Group, of London, the “security consultancy” of choice for ex MI5 and MI6 officers

Noel Harwerth, non-executive Director, Director of “London First” – [Honestly, I am not making this up]

David Nish – Chief Executive, Member of the “UK Strategy Committee” of “TheCity UK”. “TheCity UK” being a body of the City of London.

John Paynter, non-executive Director, was vice chairman of JP Morgan Cazenove until the 2008 crash

Amazing that lot oppose independence, huh?

Standard Life also threatened to leave at the time of the devolution referendum and gave out No campaign materials to staff. “Leave” of course is a relative concept – the above bunch just pop up from London from time to time to check on how the serfs are doing.

I published this information on 27 February when they last tried to influence the independence debate. Standard Life is again trying today to influence the referendum campaign by a press release claiming it will move key departments to London in the event of independence, enthusiastically amplified by the BBC, Guardian and all the other reactionary media.

Well, here is an opposing press release, from me. If anybody thinks that an Independent Scotland will be a place where major strategic companies can still be controlled by swivel-eyed right wing ideologues, they may get a very nasty shock from the people of Scotland.

Trouble with the wife, RoS? Or a compulsory visit to the Labour Exchange? Or did you just feel like a lie-in this morning? No slacking now, a free and independent Scotland depends on you!

    The story of HABBS life.
    ========================
    Chapter one.
    —————-
When HABB was born, the doctor turned to his mother, he slapped her on the face, and said how could you. HABB was so ugly that his dummy kept jumping out of his mouth, and his tears would jump from his face.

He was the only child in his neighbourhood that had the wheels of his baby walker removed, in case he frightened the neighbours.Every Christmas and Birthday he either received a ice hockey goalkeepers mask or a Darth Vader helmet.

At school HABB had no friends, and indeed the other children would deliberately be bad in order to be able to stand in the corner facing the wall, HABBS father tied a pork chop around his neck so the dog would play with him, this only worked for a short while as the dog couldn’t take it,and ran away.

    The story of HABBS Life
    ============
    Chapter 2
    ————–
HABBS parents could bear no longer to look at his hideous coupon, and off he went to boarding school, where even the fraternal zealots, shunned him only the gardener showed him any kindness, because HABBS face reminded him of the bole of the Hawthorn tree.
HABB could take no more and ran away.

He slept on park benches, and in the mornings the park warden, would find dead squirrels and owls lying at the base of trees with a frightened look upon their faces, even the fish in the pond, would be found floating upside down in motal distress.

He does seem to have unresolved bullying issues, RoS. I think he doubled-down on his antisocial behavior when he discovered the innertoobs, where no one can punch him in the neck, except virtually.

Balance failure in BBC Scottish independence referendum coverage ‘wrong and not acceptable’ says Channel 4’s Stuart Cosgrove

Channel 4’s director of creative diversity, Stuart Cosgrove, has slammed the lack of journalistic scrutiny of Scottish independence referendum ‘scare headlines’ and called for a re-think at the BBC on the nature of balance and due impartiality.

Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland, Cosgrove said misreporting over claims the Royal Bank of Scotland would move jobs to England in the event of a Yes vote had been shown to be lacking substance and scrutiny after RBS issued a clarification to the media confirming any move would be relevant to “operations, not people”.

“An independent Scotland will receive more rain. Annual precipitation could be as much as 7% higher says Met Office.”
    ____________________

    Two thoughts occur:

1/. Would that not be good for independent Scottish agriculture as it might lead to increased production and therefore a Scottish agricultural products surplus to go along with its oil surplus?

2/. Are the English currently “stealing” Scottish water in the same way as the xxxxxxxxs are accused of stealing water from the xxxxxxxxxxxxxs? If so, an independent Scotland in charge of its own water resources, PLUS in creased rainfall, should have a healthy surplus for export against hard currency?

Are there no limits to the benefits of Scottish independence?

Was cold called today by the supposed London Advisory Board. I put the phone down. The actual LAB have a disclaimer on their home page thus.

Please note: We have been informed that people claiming to represent the London Advisory Board have been making unsolicited telephone calls…..

It is a strange shadowy outfit with P Charles at the head. You can see some familiar connections to the Better Together crowd. McGregor Smith CEO of MITIE is there. Crawford Gillies in Craig’s list on this thread is a director of MITIE. Al-Akhbar September 11, 2014

Cuba sends six tons of medical supplies to Gaza

Cuba has sent six tons of drugs and medical supplies to Gaza, devastated by Israel’s seven-week US-backed terror campaign that killed more than 2,100 people, official media reported Thursday.

The government-run Cubadebate website said the humanitarian shipment was delivered by officials at Cuba’s embassy in Cairo to the Palestinian representative there.

Cubadebate said Palestinian officials expressed their thanks for Havana’s “noble gesture” that “will alleviate the difficult situation Gaza is facing,” as hospitals continue to treat those injured by the Israeli bombings.

Israel and the Palestinians agreed to a truce on August 26, putting on hold their deadliest confrontation in years, with indirect talks set to resume mid-September.

It look like its going to be a YES win for almost sure, even the 3% gay voters have now deserted the Westminster cause, that has promised them a National Gay Pride holiday, with the full backing of the commanding FOIs across all parties. But I still think if habba is still raising his pink yarmulke above the parapet there must be a sting in the tail, the SoS is always one step ahead of us unsuspecting goyim.

Several ex-international Scottish rugby players, standing outside Murrayfield stadium today, professing their love for Scotland with the old chestnut, “I’m proud to be Scottish” but! I’m voting no, the usual suspects among them including the Hastings brothers.

Meanwhile the unionist news channel SKY, can’t contain their glee, at the news several phone providers may raise prices if Scotland becomes independent.

Twenty more MP’s put family members on their taxpayer-funded payroll last year despite a public outcry over abuse of the expenses system.
A total of 170 MP’s employed relations, at a cost of more than £4 million. The previous year, 150 MP’s had family members on the payroll.
The bill for MP’s expenses reached record levels last year, as more politicians put spouses and children on the public payroll.

MP’s staff, travel and accommodation costs reached £103 million last year, up from £99 million the previous year and £95 million in 2009.
After the expenses scandal in 2009, the Committee on Standards in Public Life called for employing relations in Parliament to be banned. But it was overruled after protests.

Hopefully Scotland will be well shot of these fat greedy troughers.

I heard that thing about ‘phone prices on Channel 4 news. That’s just nuts; who thinks these things up? They’ll be telling us the girls’ll be dropping a cup size next.

No, the Union including Scotland is stuffed whatever the result of the referendum and it’s time to move on. A new beginning – rip it up and start again – would be nice, but I doubt most people have got it in them – the useless leaders certainly haven’t and they’ll cling to power for all they’re worth. It would, for example, require the rest of the country in the event that ‘No’ squeak home, telling Scotland that they’re getting a separate state whether they vote for it or not. Unless I’ve massively underestimated them, Mendelsohn will have given Penelope Cruz a love child before that happens.

    Meanwhile:

How can it be right, they call it a democracy but half the people want one thing and the other another.
A good start would to poll everybody on on what they want and perhaps lead off from there.

War to salvage the planet and it’s species displaced by man.
    War to end exploitation.
    Work to help the needy….

It don’t really add up to democracy.

NATO’s real purpose. Is there any doubt this is a pan-regional connection of the dots?

    http://www.voltairenet.org/article185257.html

“The issue of the Islamic Emirate did not therefore have to be added to the anti-Russian and anti-Chinese agenda. It was already part of it. Moreover, not wanting to risk that a Member State might express doubts about this masquerade, Washington shifted the debate to the sidelines of the summit. President Obama met eight other states plus Australia (which is not a NATO member, but only an associate) to develop its war plan. It was later decided to add Jordan to this device.”

Sectarian violence not just in the ME.

“According to a press conference held by the Majlis-e-Wahdatul Muslimeen in Karachi’s Soldier Bazaar Area, 160 Shia have been killed in the city this year, despite a military and police combined operation to crack down on the extremist groups that have made this their agenda.

They have included five lawyers, five doctors, five engineers, three professors and 21 traders.

The series of sectarian deaths come in spurts. This, most recent series began about a week ago, when on Saturday evening, Shia cleric Allama Ali Akbar Kumaili was shot dead. He had been going home with his children. From the shower of bullets directed his way, two found their way to his chest and one to his abdomen. He died at the scene.

Then on Wednesday, Dr Maulana Masood Baig, also a cleric (whilst not Shia) was shot dead in North Nazimabad. He had been driving to pick his children up from school when he was met with a barrage of bullets. He too, died at the scene. A Ph.D scholar, his dissertation had been entitled “Islam’s Philosophy of Brotherhood and Tolerance”. In a Karachi deeply ensconced in hatred, it seems, the propagators of such learning are destined for death.

In the midst of these two more high profile killings, and before and after, others more ordinary met their deaths.

On the Friday before Allama Kumaili’s death, gunmen opened fire outside a shop in North Nazimabad and killed a shopkeeper. On the same day as Maulana Masood Baig’s death, Imran Ali who was sitting outside his television repair shop was also killed by unknown gunmen. According to a spokesperson from the Majlis-e-Wahdat ul Muslimeen he had been involved in organising mourning processions for the city’s Shia community.

The killings are not expected to stop.”

    http://abcnews.go.com/International/government-threatened-foley-family-ransom-payments-mother-slain/story?id=25453963

“Obama administration officials repeatedly threatened the family of murdered journalist James Foley that they might face criminal charges for supporting terrorism if they paid ransom to the ISIS killers who ultimately beheaded their son, his mother and brother said this week.

“We were told that several times and we took it as a threat and it was appalling,” Foley’s mother Diane told ABC News in an interview.

She said the warnings over the summer came primarily from a highly decorated military officer serving on the White House’s National Security Council staff, which five outraged current and former officials with direct knowledge of the Foley case also recounted to ABC News in recent weeks.

“Three times he intimidated us with that message. We were horrified he would say that. He just told us we would be prosecuted. We knew we had to save our son, we had to try,” Diane Foley said.”

    It’s only natural, Obama said.

    Read about Lord Kestenbaum.

In December 2013, Kestenbaum was also installed as the Chancellor of the University of Plymouth.

RIT is Lord Rothschild’s investment company.

I don’t know he landed the Chancellorship of Plymouth University but this is what is going on there. Perhaps he wishes now that he had steered clear. What wheels were turned to put him in that position?

Read about the activities of retired Judge William Taylor, chairman of the governors at the same university, accused of sexually harassing staff.
