BBC Propaganda 68

Please read and consider very carefully this brilliant dissection of the BBC’s propaganda blitz on Syria, at the time when the security establishment were trying to propel us into war against Assad, before they decided it was just as profitable to have a war against Assad’s enemies. For the security establishment and arms industry, any dream will do.

I do not agree with every single point made, but I do think every single point is worth considering and agree with a lot of it. My own opinion is that there was a genuine attack, but that the coverage of it was deliberately enhanced and exaggerated to a very large degree. The smoking gun remains the two versions of the soundtrack of Dr Hallam’s “live” interview. The failure to acknowledge that the “charity” featured is directly linked to one of the fighting rebel factions is less spectacular than some of the other possible fabrications, but in itself an appalling dereliction of journalistic integrity.

It is vital to remember the context. This massive propaganda broadcast, entitled “Saving Syria’s Children”, was put out by the BBC just before the crucial vote by the Commons on the government’s request to go to war with Syria, in order to “save Syrian civilians”.

Please do read the main page and I do urge you to follow all the links through because this is very, very important. Particularly in Scotland, millions of people have awoken to the fact that the BBC is purely an organ of state propaganda. The important next step is to acknowledge that the BBC’s dishonesty extends well beyond the subject of Scottish Independence.

Robert Stuart is to be congratulated for his analysis and for sticking to his guns with the execrable BBC ‘complaints’ system.

The BBC and Ian Pannell should be ashamed of themselves.

There should be some sort of award for Robert’s citizen journalism.

    Robert’s contributions are on Medialens.

Well, the BBC are up to their old tricks.Nothing new in that.I vividly remember J.Pilger remarking to an international audience re the Beebs “famed impartiality” and the entire room bursting into laughter.Well, here inside the bubble,if nothing else the Idyref duplicity has further ended the Beebs legitimacy in many eyes and once it is seen for what it is there is no going back.

I’ve stopped watching BBC news altogether. Wait, the BBC investigates it’s own complaints? How is that working out for them. What is the likelyhood they are going to condem themselves?

Every summer now the BBC – led by the City and the Bilderberg Arms Industry lobby – try to bamboozle us into accepting another war. Now Money Laundering HSBC’s Rona Airhead, nee Fairhead, is in the driving seat the entire corporation is becoming their plaything.

It may seem pointless as they are so obviously lying about so much but it provides momentary distractive cover, just like that used by a magician or illusionist, for atrocities that end up as a fait accomplis.
In this way the BBC is leading us into a catastrophic confrontation which could easily turn nuclear.

How do you reform a stinking turd without getting your hands dirty? wear gloves?
Does the then re-formed, now pointy, cone like turd still stink of the proverbial? oh yes it does.

So only breaking it up and dispersing will bring some change, no more words needed, they are only accountable to themselves, not us, hence accountability is trivial nonsense.

Thanks to Stuart for pointing it out for the umpteenth time. It would take one strong soul to change this leviathan.

    @Pete,

yes a friend asked if I had seen the headline on BBC website news today, I surprised them by revealing that I haven’t visited Auntie’s website knowingly for around a year! It sadly reminds me nowadays of state-run Pravda when I was in the Soviet Union in the 70’s

Tractor production has risen 70% this month: Unemployment is down below 2 million: The economy is booming:….

did you catch the questions yesterday about why the BBC ‘Children in Need’ charity Telethon is about to be launched (expected to raise more than £30M) when the BBC is attracting headlines like this “Why is Children In Need sitting on a £90million fortune? Charity stashes sum away in investment portfolio instead of handing it out” according to the DailyFail

What a packed Article of links and writing in there Craig, gonna take a while…of which i don’t have time the noo…but many thanks for this…shall delve into it later.

I Wonder how Mother Agnes-Mariam is…What a wee Heroine she is…UNLIKE the rest of the catholic church – Sickening Silence – To think of the vast numbers of people they have some clout over.

    P.S

i haven’t heard anymore about the bbc Bias protest for the 22nd…or was it the 22nd November anyone…sound was a bit patchy when Tommy read it out.

Sight of 2 videos: “The case against The BBC – a debate-ending case study chronicling the BBC’s sustained, conscious transgression of it’s legal duty to report impartially” and “In the Public Interest” would no doubt harden your reader’s misgivings about the Corporation and their contents engender further lively debate on your blog.

  • nevermind, there's a future, still

Tony, thanks for the reference to ‘in the public interest’, very good that.
As someone who was a GPRC rep. for the Greens, I can talk of numerous arguments coming over the table, of our press officers with the BIBIC, over coverage at election time and their wriggling over the decades, i.e. ‘why should you get any coverage you have no MP’s MEP’s’.
When they then elected two MEP’s, Caroline Lucas and Jean Lambert the same reason was still used for minuscule coverage, i.e. ‘you have no representation in Parliament.

Most likely today this has morphed to ‘ah but you are not a political group in Parliament, that takes two MP’s’ and so on ad nauseum, any excuse you can think of not to give minorities coverage.

They have been thoroughly subverted from the start and are an arm of the state, accountable and dependent on their masters and handlers for a franchise, also called merrygoround. abolish and re-form, even when people say don’t destroy an excellent world service.

Well if its excellent it will stand on its merits and be excellent again, have ye faith, if its an arm of the state and coercive, tough, it will have to change as well.

It’s not the fact that the BBC pumps out neocon propaganda that irks me. All the other broadcasters do it too and we should be used to it by now. It’s the fact that we’re expected to pay for it and face legal threats if we don’t. Stop paying the licence fee, turn off your TVs and let the banksters, multinationals and Israel pay for their own garbage.

  • Jives

Like an increasing number of people i know i just don’t watch the MSM.

I’ts just a pathetic joke now.

Making up reports without explaining that they are reconstructions is disgraceful, and journalists doing it ought to be disciplined, since it compromises the BBC’s reputation. A medical doctor whop is a party to false medical reporting ought top be removed from the GMC’s register, if he’s on it.

  • Republicofscotland

I need no convincing of the dirty tricks campaign by the state broadcaster the BBC after 2 years of bias against the YES camp, a huge chunk of the Scottish population, no longer believe nor pay a TV licence.

Some staged events in the Middle East including Syria covered by the Bullshit Broadcasting Corporation, aka, the BBC.

Half-way there. Do all roads lead to Scotland? Tut tut. The Beeb gives some fresh air to the stale.

It’s all for the cameras. From spectacular demolitions to James Foley, via gassed actors and shock and awe.

Promise a corporate media whore an exclusive, and he or she won’t bother looking behind the curtain, so to speak. Of course they would probably know not to do that anyway, especially if it’s off-message. Once a foreign power has been demonised i.e. targeted for removal each news item must serve to reinforce that view. Pannell et al know that fine well. They can be trusted to deliver.

sorry, John, can’t get along with anyone accepting ASDA ads. What left? they have done exactly the same poaching of each others members since they exist.

Its all a great game of vying for attention and supporting vogue causes, in between living in big fat mansions paid for by these supporters who buy their left leaning books.
If there would be unity on the left in Britain, Labour would be f….d and those champagne socialists would be gone.
The system works on disunity and on division, a united people is something that is very much avoided by those who want your membership money more than your principles.

Could you point out to Tariq Ali, that the SNP is the Scottish National Party, as in articles he has written he refers erroneously throughout to the Scottish Nationalist Party. His terminological inexactitude, combined with an analysis of the Scottish Independence referendum that leaves much to be desired, suggested to me, on this issue, and perhaps on others, he might not be ‘where it’s at’.

Asda ads. Birmingham Left Unity has been targeting Asda and Tesco on a weekly basis over supplying Israeli produce. I’d like to see the advert to which you’re referring.

Mass deception’ – Where told this an image of Vinson being transported to Atlanta for the same treatment as aid worker’s Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol. Do you notice anything strange about this photograph? Why is there someone without protective gear anywhere near the Ebola infected patient?
    ______________________________________

The picture in my opinion virtually proves that the so called significant threat of Ebola to world is staged.

    Germany also disrespecting the Left.

“Energy and Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel, also the Social Democrat deputy chancellor, often said that he wanted to rein in German arms exports – especially to unstable, non-NATO and non-EU countries – during last year’s general election campaign. Critics on Wednesday from the opposition Greens and Left alleged that he had not kept his word.”

It has taken you this long to figure out how unimpartial the BBC is? I have not watched or read any BBC output for at least 5 years, so blatant has their bias become.

  • Habbabkuk (La vita è bella) !

Some overblown (but entirely typical) rhetoric from the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Rafael Ramirez Carreno on the election of Venezuela to a seat on the UNSC:

“This triumph is dedicated to Hugo Chávez,” Venezuela’s foreign minister Rafael Ramirez Carreño said while announcing the win. “It’s also the result of a long and sustained effort of president Nicolas Maduro when he decided to move forward with its model of the peaceful settlement of conflicts, which has been so successful domestically.”

He also added that, “The historic success of Venezuela shows clearly the wide support that our revolution has internationally, as a supporter of peace, social justice, solidarity, and respect of human rights.”

He sounds like the model for some of the commenters on here! 🙂
