BBC Mock Balance 217

A classic example of BBC mock balance on the news tonight as James Cook devoted apparently equal time to Douglas Alexander and Mhairi Black in Renfrewshire East.

Of Mhairi we were told by Cook that her opponents say that her youth shows, and that she carries fighting talk too far. Well, of Douglas his opponents say that he is a war criminal, and that he stabbed his sister in the back. That was not mentioned.

Whereas the “equal time” allowed the SNP candidate included BBC commentary giving direct personal criticism of her, there was no critical note in the Alexander side of the coverage. An interesting example of how the state propaganda system works.

“Wouldn’t that be a case of throwing good money after bad? 🙂 ”

Did you deliberately not read Node at 12.13? I know by the number of responses you make you consider me to be, next to Mary, the most challenging of your antagonists, but please try to keep up! 🙂

@John Goss “I don’t anticipate any Mary Queen of Scots type escape from the Isle of Loch Leven dressed as a maid.” Well, perhaps not a maid 🙂

I am grateful for your tenacity ‘Komodo’ in all things ‘Blair’ – Interesting introduction to Blair Inc.: The Man Behind the Mask by Francis Beckett, David Hencke

Blair Inc.: The Man behind the Mask has not been easy to research. The secrecy that surrounds his companies and employees-forced to sign long ferocious confidentiality agreements – indicate Blair’s unwillingness to level with the public and answer the question: Who are you Tony Blair?

It would be hard to find another organisation with such a strong culture of secrecy[MI5/6?] Blair’s employees, friends and political allies tended to be either outraged that we were making impertinent enquiries about matters that were no concern of ours, or terrified of what might happen to them if they were known to have spoken to us.

Absolutum Dominium – abundans cautela non nocet

@John Goss “Next week there will be a new government in Westminster, with a significant SNP presence.” Let’s wait and see what happens. Remember the certainty people had about the outcome of the Scottish referendum? An interesting question is: concerning those people who don’t vote SNP (so as not to break up the country), whom would they vote for? Could be that the Greens might be the big gainers rather than the SNP. Who knows, the Tories might make gains!

And don’t forget that the delay in the issuance of the Chilcot Report also includes the difficulties he had in running the Northern Ireland Office when Captain Simon Hayward was involved in his murder campaign, and John Stalker was stopped in his investigation of it.

Meanwhile,in what I can only assume, must be classed as temporary insanity, royal fans have camped outside the Lindo Ward, where Kate Goldsmith Middleton Saxe Coburg-Gotha Windsor, phew! Is due to drop her second sprog.

The baby is due anytime soon (must check my satanic calendar) and will be the spare to the heir.

Hopefully no nurses will be prank called, which of course led to a terrible, if unclear tragedy.

Yet another failure by Surrey Police – Millie Dowler, Deepcut deaths, Guildford Four, et al. Note here how the victims were kept in the dark.

Savile Abused 22 Children At One School
The paedophile went unmonitored as he preyed on girls in an intensive care unit, the principal’s office and his camper van.
    http://news.sky.com/story/1474325/savile-abused-22-children-at-one-school

‘Surrey Police and prosecutors had the chance to bring Savile to justice in 2007 when they received four allegations about historical sexual offences, two of them at Duncroft in the 1970s.

The Surrey force consulted with the CPS but in October 2009 decided no prosecution could be brought because the alleged victims would not support police action.

However, Surrey Police did not tell any of them that other complaints had also been made.

The victims told a previous report into Savile’s abuse that if they had known, they probably would have been prepared to give evidence in court.’

Their inaction was either deliberate, due to orders from on high, or just because they are u/s.

Shame on the abusers and on those who have failed the children.

  • Beeb Beep

What most people dont know is 80% of our newsreaders are homosexuals or lesbians, yet according to the last census were 3% of the population. The jews at 4% of the population are also overrepresented at the Beeb, excluding nick robinson as he has lost his voice (thank God or we would have been treated to an endless wolfblitzerish singsong in praise of cameron). The mueslies also appear to be overrepresented.

Looks like that American ambassador to Kiev, Geoffrey Pyatt, who was directly involved in the Ukrainian coup alongside “Fuck the EU” Nuland, has again been caught posting fake images on Twitter:

    https://twitter.com/GeoffPyatt/status/591143349194723328/photo/1

“US ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt has claimed that Russia’s military is continuing to expand its presence in eastern Ukraine. As for proof, Pyatt posted a two-year-old picture of an air defense system from an air show near Moscow.”

    http://russia-insider.com/en/back-old-tactics-us-envoy-tweets-russian-buks-ukraine-pic-moscow-show/6208

Everything about these scumbags is a lie.

  • Trowbridge H. Ford

    Right, Mary.

Brian Moore was the deputy chief constable in Surrey when much of this happened.

He got the position, and moved right to the top of UK police work by corroborating also fellow suspect Forbes Cay Mitchell’s drug claims about Captain Simon Hayward in Sweden in June 1987, resulting in his five-year prison sentence.

Moore is the top choice when it comes to covering up the dirtiest covert operations.
    .

  • Trowbridge H. Ford

Did Moore tell the media about Lord McAlpine’s alleged child sex-abuse behavior, getting his officers to go after all the wrong suspects and the parents in the Milly Downer case?

Took the Surrey police a decade to find her killer when her body was finally found in some woods.

Why didn’t the Surrey police alert everyone to be on the lookout for it?

  • Mary

Many of the senior Surrey police force go on to the Met and some even get the Commissioner job like Ian Blair.

In 2007, the Surrey CC was Bob Quick. Remember him having to resign when he entered No 10 in 2009 revealing the content of documents he was carrying. He was Asst Commisioner at the Met i/c special operations! He went on to run his limo hire company.

His successor at Surrey was Mark Rowley, now responsible for Specialist Crime and Special Operations unit at the Met.

“Did you deliberately not read Node at 12.13? I know by the number of responses you make you consider me to be, next to Mary, the most challenging of your antagonists, but please try to keep up!”
    ______________

It is always difficult to see yourself as others see you, is it not?

So let me help you to see yourself.

Neither you or Mary are “challenging”, mainly because neither of you advance any arguments. You just shout through a megaphone, with Mary’s shouts taking the form of cuts-and-paste and yours the form of a regurgitation of Russia Today and other even more dodgy sources. Therefore you cannot be more “challenging” than Mary, nor she more than you.

The number of responses is in direct ratio to the number of your and Mary’s shouts. You both shout a lot and so my foot is in continual motion to give you both the little kicks you so richly deserve.

All clear now, I hope! 🙂

  • Habbabkuk (la vita è bella)

    Ba’al

It is always difficult to make out what Mark “Walt” Golding is trying to say, but I think he trying to warn you (cf his post at 14h46) that you might be assassinated if you carry on enquiring into Blair.

I trust you will take due heed of Monsieur Golding’s warnings, you know he knows what he’s talking about!

  • Ba'al Zevul

Yes, Mark, exactly. Blair’s showing an increasing tendency even to exclude journalists from his ‘public’ appearances, and to communicate only by press release. High-profile business schmoozathons still tend to give advance notice of his attendance, but the political stuff is done a lot more quietly. And barring the odd employee breaking cover, that looks like the pattern.

  • Mary

Please don’t feed the troll above John. I do not wish to see him posting rubbish about me.

  • Republicofscotland

What a state UK society is when Russell Brand,is seen by the young as some kind of revolutionary,or radical John McLean and Thomas Muir will be spinning in their graves.

Miliband does himself no favours pandering to the young by having a hollow interview with the womaniser Brand.

Mind you Brand dated Jemima Goldsmith, a woman he wouldn’t have gotten within 100ft of if without vetting first, Brand speaks a good game, against the establishment, but then again he may be a Kim Philby a double agent.

British Prime Minister David Cameron has defended the Israeli regime’s 2014 military aggression against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Cameron said in an interview with the UK-based Jewish Chronicle on Tuesday that Tel Aviv had a right to “defend” itself when it began its war on Gaza last July.

Israel started airstrikes against the besieged Palestinian territory in early July 2014 and later expanded its military campaign with a ground invasion. The war ended in late August that year.

Nearly 2,200 Palestinians, including 577 children, were killed in Israel’s 50-day onslaught and over 11,100 others, including nearly 3,380 children, 2,088 women and 410 elderly people, were injured. Tens of Israelis were also killed during the war.

Cameron said it was “important to speak out” about standing by Israel.

Good old Davy boy, obedient to a fault he knows which side his breads buttered on.

  • Dreoilin

You don’t understand “lurking” any more than you understand “forum sliding”, Mary.

I think you should stop using internet slang that you don’t understand.

  • Dreoilin

And don’t tell other people “don’t feed the troll” (the troll by your definition, that is) when you repeatedly respond to him yourself.

    Cheek of you.

  • Habbabkuk (la vita è bella)

    Mary

When you told us earlier on today that three days in hospital had left you “limp as a dishrag”, I not unreasonably thought you might be following Mr Atlee’s advice to Harold Laski, ie., “a period of silence on your part would be welcome”.

But no, you have been posting away merrily every hour since then!

But all is not darkness: from far away America, not a peep so far from our friend Commdore + Major “Lysias”.

Perhaps he has been busy digging out some more from the British press on Lord Janner for our delectation? Or perhaps reflecting further on why it would be a good thing to apply some features of 500 BC Athenian political life to the political world of the 21st century? Or perhaps even doing abstruse calculations in order to allow him to announce on here the exact day the USA is going to collapse?

  • fred

“Pffft. Really, Fred! Can’t you do better than that?”

    Are you saying he lied?

    Do you have evidence?

  • John Goss

“Neither you or Mary are “challenging” . . .”

Standards are really slipping at Blyton. 100 lines “I must neither use or with neither nor either with nor.”

Easy when you get the hang of it Noddy. 🙂

  • Habbabkuk (la vita è bella)

    Mr Goss

Are you and Mary an item?

The Darby and Joan of this blog?

Certainly beats what goes on in ToyTown!
