The Truth Avoided by Mainstream Media Liars 147

My factual demolition of the anti-Snowden story has been read by hundreds of thousands of people, very probably millions, around the internet, 50,000 so far on this site alone, and tweeted by thousands of people. It has been tweeted at – repeatedly – every single mainstream media journalist who has been repeating the government propaganda.

The extraordinary thing is that no jurnalist, anywhere, has made any attempt to deny the facts I give. Not one journalist in the entire crowd of corporate media paid lackeys at the BBC, Sunday Times, Reuters or anywhere at all has addressed or tried to refute the facts which make it impossible that their Snowden story is true. They have not addressed it in their publications or even tried to defend themselves on social media. Not one journalist, not anywhere. (One or two have pointed out that the fifth point is an ad hominem, which is true. Not all ad hominems are invalid, but the first four facts destroy the argument anyway).

Neither has there been any response from the “safe” retired diplomats or security consultants the mainstream media can generally roll out on these occasions.

So here is a challenge to the Sunday Times, BBC and rest of the mainstream media. If your story is true, where exactly are my facts wrong? If you refuse to address this, why do you consider yourself a journalist?

To avoid you “journalists” having to do even a click of research, here is my article again:

Five Reasons the MI6 Story is a Lie

The Sunday Times has a story claiming that Snowden’s revelations have caused danger to MI6 and disrupted their operations. Here are five reasons it is a lie.

1) The alleged Downing Street source is quoted directly in italics. Yet the schoolboy mistake is made of confusing officers and agents. MI6 is staffed by officers. Their informants are agents. In real life, James Bond would not be a secret agent. He would be an MI6 officer. Those whose knowledge comes from fiction frequently confuse the two. Nobody really working with the intelligence services would do so, as the Sunday Times source does. The story is a lie.

2) The argument that MI6 officers are at danger of being killed by the Russians or Chinese is a nonsense. No MI6 officer has been killed by the Russians or Chinese for 50 years. The worst that could happen is they would be sent home. Agents’ – generally local people, as opposed to MI6 officers – identities would not be revealed in the Snowden documents. Rule No.1 in both the CIA and MI6 is that agents’ identities are never, ever written down, neither their names nor a description that would allow them to be identified. I once got very, very severely carpeted for adding an agents’ name to my copy of an intelligence report in handwriting, suggesting he was a useless gossip and MI6 should not be wasting their money on bribing him. And that was in post communist Poland, not a high risk situation.

3) MI6 officers work under diplomatic cover 99% of the time. Their alias is as members of the British Embassy, or other diplomatic status mission. A portion are declared to the host country. The truth is that Embassies of different powers very quickly identify who are the spies in other missions. MI6 have huge dossiers on the members of the Russian security services – I have seen and handled them. The Russians have the same. In past mass expulsions, the British government has expelled 20 or 30 spies from the Russian Embassy in London. The Russians retaliated by expelling the same number of British diplomats from Moscow, all of whom were not spies! As a third of our “diplomats” in Russia are spies, this was not coincidence. This was deliberate to send the message that they knew precisely who the spies were, and they did not fear them.

4) This anti Snowden non-story – even the Sunday Times admits there is no evidence anybody has been harmed – is timed precisely to coincide with the government’s new Snooper’s Charter act, enabling the security services to access all our internet activity. Remember that GCHQ already has an archive of 800,000 perfectly innocent British people engaged in sex chats online.

5) The paper publishing the story is owned by Rupert Murdoch. It is sourced to the people who brought you the dossier on Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction, every single “fact” in which proved to be a fabrication. Why would you believe the liars now?

There you have five reasons the story is a lie.

Please communicate this challenge to the “journalist” of your choice.

Nafeez Ahmed, whose contract was terminated at The Guardian, because he’s a real journalist, goes deeper into The Sunday Times’ lies.

His argument is that The Henry Jackson Society is at the root of many of the lies.

“There is a violent extremist fifth column operating at the heart of power in Britain, and they stand against everything we hold dear in Western democracies: civil liberties, equality, peace, diplomacy and the rule of law.”

“a web of self-serving trans-Atlantic elites who are attempting to warp public discourse on key issues that pose a threat not to the public interest, but to their own vested interests.”

Very comprehensive. Names the names. Shows how the network functions.

Maybe even that was a myth, concealing the same pressure from the establishment intelligence agencies to create scarey myths, to get work, as exists today.

They existed, I briefly aspired to be one of these, long ago, and worked with others, albeit on a local paper. Believe me, the only way to get inside news about council housing policy is to make friends with the Executive Officer over several pints, and all editorial discussions took place in the pub. The culture was institutional, until Murdoch moved his organs out of Fleet Street and the other proprietors followed. Nowadays the journos and journas don’t bother. They just c&p the press handouts, and would probably be fired if they appeared to be four under the eight at work.

Most of you are going to have to stay on this post from now on. Some rules are being inttroduced from now on and many of you are going to be found wanting. 🙂

    Mr Goss

The reason why you follow RT and Press TV is purely because they substantiate your existing prejudices. If you were really looking for balance you wouldn’t be so totally reliant on Russian state controlled sources with regard to matters Russian and Ukrainian.

As for myself I look at many sources. including the Putin controlled ones, for my information in respect of Russia – I also read books which look at the subject in greater depth than the shallow internet based feed on which you rely. I don’t rely on Lebedev controlled media – and anyway he was forced to give up control of Novaya Gazeta – and if you bother to look closer you will find that Lebedev is not a source of which I am uncritical – search what I said about how he made his money from the National Reserve Bank if you do not believe me.

Perhaps in the interest of balance we might have you explanation and that provided by RT or similar for the recent demonstration in Donetsk where the demonstrators were asking the regime to move their rocket launchers out of built up areas (which is of course a war crime in itself) so that they were not targeted by the Ukrainian govt. You say you care about the casualties of war – but this is just a pretence given that on numerours occasions you have encouraged breaches of ceasefire while prattling on about extending the homeland and other similar fascistic nonsense.

PS I notice that you have now moved onto the sixth column – was this out of embarrassment out of being caught using more fascist language with you attacks on those who disagree with Putin as fifth columnists?

PPS As for the comment about RT and PressTV striving for accuracy – yeh and I’m the stupid one.

Thanks for that link, very interesting indeed, when you realise that initially the HJS was set up to help people better their lives, and to look at it now, with its anti-Muslim agenda combined with rich right wing policies,it couldn’t be further from its initial goal.

Our very own Jim Murphy is a member of the HJS,Murphy posed as a left leaning politician, or at least he tried too (he failed miserably). During the independence referendum and again in the GE.

Could it be the HJS pulling the strings behind the screen, with regards to the pushing for the privisation of the UK’s NHS amongst other things, like the Royal Mail.

Nafeez Ahmed, certainly writes a good article.

  • YouKnowMyName

@RoS yes, subliminally I think the soundtrack for Casino Royale was in my mind somewhere – Flemings’ bad French spelling and all. Great track!

Of course they do know my name, after a recent posting here – to clarify a misconception, I received at my unlinked work-environment a professionally loaded e-Mail bomb, disguised as an Outlook Calendar appointment for a plausible meeting from a plausible correspondent.

I tend not to trigger intelligence community malware, and when this e-Mail bomb was dismantled in a nice safe virtual PC somewhere – it was discovered to contain nineteen thousand primed and sharpened email addresses. In a way, I’m pleased. I seem to be functioning a bit as a lightning conductor, discharging the vitriol from an unbalanced security state or two, that they daily wreak lightly upon the average citizen, without the citizens realising.

Free speech isn’t possible, of course, but we all knew that. The fact that the current information war has even reached the consciousness of idiots like me, and the fact that I’m being targeted with criminal computer misuse, for reading and chatting with mostly sensible people, is astonishing! How will this develop?

Of course, It wasn’t a kinetic bomb, yet. The worst that I would have suffered is extreme embarrassment at having 19000 co-respondents asking why I was mailing them, a matrix of muddle, maybe it was calculated to extirpate my Windows PC? This was an illegal act and it came from an establishment that is beyond the law. The blowback from this attack on my PC is that I now have special treatment, and many people are consulting with me about the relevant issues. Many more people now knowmyname, thanks guys.

For Pakistan, the leaders have always been out-of-it, supping with devils, true. The average proud national, of whom I have had many as friends, have been impressively epic to me in their morality – except towards those splitters from East Pakistan.

Food sales figures for Saudi Arabia’s ninth Hejira month – why fast during the day , when you’ll eat twice as much as normal at night?

  • John Goss

‘PS I notice that you have now moved onto the sixth column – was this out of embarrassment out of being caught using more fascist language with you attacks on those who disagree with Putin as fifth columnists?’

No it is because the fifth column has hardly any membership due to the war in Ukraine which has strengthened Putin’s control. In your mind I guess they’ve all been poisoned! 🙂 It’s the same reason Labedev got out of Novaya Gazeta, falling readership due to biased articles like the one you posted a couple of days back from his other rag ‘The Independent’ which nobody reads any more.

‘PPS As for the comment about RT and PressTV striving for accuracy – yeh and I’m the stupid one.’

You said it. I have nothing to add. 🙂

    YouKnowMyName.

Oh dear I do hope your computer works fine now,it’s a endemic problem now across the web,and of course with Craigs background, there’s always going to be someone watching and taking notes.

I for one think it is very underhanded for a fellow poster to give out details on another poster.

Still I’m glad to see that you’re not deterred, and are still posting relevant comments, keep up the good work.

As for the song You Know My Name, yes it’s a excellent ditty, and Casino Royale in my opinion is still the best Bond movie to date, the graphics during the opening credits are fantastic.

The free running or Parkour guy whose name eludes me,played his roll wonderfully.

  • Ba'al Zevul

I’m tempted to repeat my link to Lebedev’s homage to Blair (his chum) in the Independent last week. Nobody denies Lebedev’s a cunt, or that the Indie has gone downhill under him. But that would be off topic, like Ukraine is. On several threads.

  • Resident Dissident

Given Mr Goss is an expert on the Russian Press perhaps he could tell us where we can find one that publishes opposition voices without bias?

Who are the opposition figures who are not 5th or 6th columnists whose views that he would point us to in the interests of balance?

  • Elaine S

Did you hear that there was a complete media blackout including STV tonight about what happened with the Scotland Bill last bight…….is this the power of Cameron, stop all media from letting the No voting Scots know what traitors and backstabbers the unionist politicians are towards Scotland. The broke the promises of the Vow/Smith Commission. The one I am saddened at is the one news channel that many Scots trusted, Jon Snow and his team……..even they blacked out about the voting down of the promises made to Scots if they coted No.

“Given Mr Goss is an expert on the Russian Press perhaps he could tell us where we can find one that publishes opposition voices without bias?”

You should read the new rules about imputing ideas onto another commenter. That’s twice you’ve done it with ” If you were really looking for balance you wouldn’t be so totally reliant on Russian state controlled sources with regard to matters Russian and Ukrainian.” In that comment you also wanted me to speak on behalf of RT. Do it again and it will be a yellow card. 🙂

Not sarcastic. In fact Fukushimo puts the highly intelligent Chinese government in a big quandary. So much pollution and so many mouths to feed and nuclear power is now very hard to use. Fortunately for them the West is likely to break apart socially with its own lies very soon.

  • Resident Dissident

“You should read the new rules about imputing ideas onto another commenter”

It was a question you dope. Which you again ignore.

” If you were really looking for balance you wouldn’t be so totally reliant on Russian state controlled sources with regard to matters Russian and Ukrainian.”

It was an observation about your behaviour not RT’s based on lots of experience – what Russian sources do you quote that are not state controlled? What % are they of the total?

  • Mary

Mrs Obomber has been hobnobbing with P Harry today and later with the Camerons. What’s that all about?

She has apparently been allocated $200m for her work worldwide to educate girls.

SamCam was wearing a designer top priced at £440 according to the Mail. No austerity there.

  • John Goss

By the way RD. You do not know what books I read. Or what articles. You might be surprised. The articles I generally post links to are those least likely to be found using search engines or our media. Craig Murray on this post has shown our media to be a totally deceitful bunch of liars. Can you blame anyone for trying to get at the truth? Did you read what the brothers Miroshnichenko had to say about those you support in Ukraine? It would help with your alleged balance. I haven’t seen lots of comment-makers rushing to your aid in how balanced your opionions appear. Though Ba’al has come close.

  • Resident Dissident

“By the way RD. You do not know what books I read.” Then surprise us and use them rather than the rather shoddy sources that you think are so wonderful

“It would help with your alleged balance.” I read the comments and they are just the typical propaganda that is thrown up in a war – I could counter with many similar accounts of those who left the rebel areas or captured Russian soldiers. I don’t claim to have an entirely balanced view of the world – I have a bias to western democracies – you have one to totalitarian regimes in my opinion. I have no problem in admitting my prejudices.

“Craig Murray on this post has shown our media to be a totally deceitful bunch of liars”

No he hasn’t – he has made such a claim with regard to one article – he is quite happy to quote and rely on our media for a whole range of things – and my guess is that on the while he finds it more reliable than the Russian media.

[mods-cm-org – spam filter false positive at 13:25]

There was a very similar position in the lead up to the Second World War over Appeasement. Any criticism of Chamberlain’s policy in British newspapers or the BBC was virtually verboten. Chamberlain’s Press Officer Joseph Ball – who made Alistair Campbell look like a cuddly little teddy bear – and the Press Barons’ imposed censorship, stopped any serious discussion of the disastrous policy.

At the Beeb there was the famous case of Harold Nicolson (and his producer Guy Burgess) trying to give a talk on Munich and the DG suddenly turning up in the studio for the broadcast and Joseph Ball listening over an open line from Downing St. Nicolson eventually gave a talk on dairy quotas.

Journalists frequently reached agreements with their editors where – for three pro-Chamberlain reports – they’d be allowed one which was faintly critical.

There was even the equivalent of the Internet then, with dissident journalists like Claud Cockburn publishing cheaply reproduced news sheets on the real situation which were posted to tens of thousands of eager readers all over the country.

In the 30’s there was huge cynicism about newspaper reporting. I think the same is true now. People instinctively know when they’re being lied to.

Keep up the good work, Craig.

  • Tom

I wouldn’t worry about it, Craig. The mainstream media are a cartel who do what they’re told and certainly wouldn’t criticise anything Godfather Murdoch does.
Just look at how long they managed to turn a blind eye to the rampant corruption at News International. Even now they’re still blaming the police for it all.

  • Mary

Michelle was apparently in London to attend the Fortune Magazine ‘summit’ of the world’s most powerful women. No hyperbole there of course.

Calibre of the assembled company was somewhat diminished by the inclusion of Tzipi Livni, well known war criminal, now able to come to the UK without fear of being arrested thanks to the ConDem administration 2005-2010 who changed the law.

I understand why people in Europe don’t feel immediately effected by Fukushima.

Fact is, with the jet stream, the initial massive releases were all around the northern hemisphere in a matter of weeks.

And here’s a good one: toothpaste has seaweed extract, mostly from the Pacific. So does icecream and many other products. Remember that when you brush your teeth tomorrow morning.

“Now if it had been NATO increasing its nuclear warheads in breach of START we
might have heard about this rather quicker from our CND veterans “

Stop spouting NATO propaganda and distorting the facts. Russia is modernising
its Nuclear Weapon systems as well as retiring the old Soviet nuclear missile systems.
Why don’t read the correct reports like Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
Myself I am against all nuclear weapons. And by the way I’m not a CND veteran and
also there are to many CIA agents planted inside that organisation for my liking.

Since only a moron or a shill would work for the MSM, the liklihood of a response to your challenge seems to be somewhere between negligible and non-existent.
