Kezia Dugdale Got Just 5,217 Votes 1642

The Labour Party is being remarkably coy about releasing the actual result of its Scottish accounting unit leadership election, giving only a percentage. The entirely complacent unionist media is complicit in what amounts to a deception. The stunning truth is that in a one person, one vote election among the entire membership of the Labour Party in Scotland plus trades union supporters, Dugdale won with 5,217 votes (out of a claimed electorate of 21,000, many of whom do not exist or could not be arsed to choose between two right wing numpties).

UPDATE: A second Labour figure just rang me to assure me my information – which was from a good source – is wrong. She would not give the actual figure and only said it was “higher”. I offered to take down the post and publish an accurate figure if she would give it, but this was declined.

Labour said some 610,000 voter were eligible to vote but following the “Purge” that figure has fallen to around 554,000 eligible voters, according to party figures released yesterday.

Of those purged only 3100 were on the grounds that they didn’t share the parties aims and values, which can be found at the bottom of my comment.

Looks like Labour have purged more folk than the movie Purge:

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Purge

    Labour aims and values:

Out match the Tories on Welfare cuts.

Aim to have a seat in the House of Lords at all costs.

Agree to start wars on a whim and a fancy.

    Renew Trident.

Speak about socialism but never ever enact it.

Always strive to become more Tory like.

    Always act on London’s interests.

RoS, I think the Russians are generally taking initiatives to make sure GM produce does not get in as well as not growing GM crops. That is why they are calling for more stringent labelling since produce from abroad is not always clearly labelled, thus GMO foods are getting in.

There is a political aspect to this concerned with sanctions. Ukraine, which is being encouraged by the Yanks and others to grow GM crops, is on the border of the People’s Democratic Republics of Lugansk and Donetsk which do not allow the growing of GM crops. The political aspect is that George Soros, one of the funders of the coup, is a major shareholder in Monsanto.

As well as the Harper’s Magazine article about what happened to the $1.8 billion IMF loan (by Andrew Cockburn) which I linked earlier, Texas, an American who has relocated to the Donetsk People’s Republic, is here encouraging Ukrainians to join them and be free. Instead of having their freedom taken from them by US-backed puppets.

Wake up world! For God’s sake! I’m beginning to despair that I might not see the day of your awakening. Yes of course I exclude those who are already awake. I’m referring to Ba’al and Resident Dissident still trying to make a case for the killing that goes on daily despite the Putin-engineered Minsk agreements, despite what they can read in Harper’s and what Texas is telling them from the field.

But the case they make is woeful. They know they cannot support these oligarchs and fascists so they stay quiet on that front. Instead they focus on Russia and Putin. That’s it. Blame Putin. Blame Russia. What readers of this blog want is some real reasoning, and I don’t mean OSCE Kiev reports from the two blind clowns based there.

“Scotland has not banned GMOs. The Scottish government has merely announced that it would “shortly submit a request that Scotland is excluded from any European consents for the cultivation of GM crops, including the variety of genetically modified maize already approved and six other GM crops that are awaiting authorisation”. We must await the EU’s response to this request.”

Our Highland maize growers will be devastated.

What is sad is that GM could be beneficial in potato cultivation making crops resistant to blight but economically not viable due to the ignorance of consumers.

If you think that the corrupt oligarchs created by Russian interference in Ukraine are something that can be cleared easily, or that there are not even more corrupt oligarchs thriving in Russian under the aegis of the Putin regime then you are even more of a simpleton than I thought. The 2 corrupt Ukrainian oligarchs you mention both built up their power and influences under the previous regimes and have plenty of connections with your friends in the Russian mafia. I could provide with an entire booklist detailing the crimes of the Putin regime – and I can assure you that the sums involved are an awful lot more than these two Ukraininan oligarchs have embezzled.

Perhaps you should look at the capital outflows from Russia under your beloved Putin – and then consider how this has happened when nearly all exports of raw materials need a government licence and Russian citizens require permission from the Central Bank to hold a foreign bank account or shares. If anyone really loves Russia then they might ask how its natural resources have been so easily raped by so few – and how now when commodity prices have fallen there is so little in terms of investment to fall back on for the ordinary people of Russia.

Putin did not engineer the Minsk accords – Merkel was the one applying the pressure on Putin and Poroshenko. Neither I or Baal make a case for the killing – and the only one who called for a breach of Minsk 2 and the expansion of Novorossiya to some as yet undefined limit was yourself a few months before – the record is there for everyone to see and was pointed out by myself at the time. The OSCE are not blind clowns they point out breaches of Minsk 2 by both sides – the only blind clown is yourself, perhaps you might start to see if you removed your head from Putin’s rectum.

Thanks for the link Fedup, there is in my opinion some anomalies with it,

Why was the cameraman not filming the interview?

Just what, was the cameraman filming?

Why didn’t the reporter or interviewee, not once notice the person approach nor see him pull his weapon.

No other person seem to be close the reporter, cameraman and interviewee, yet our supposed gunman manages to casualy walk up unnoticed pull his gun put it away again then pull it again why?

Finally the gunman fires three shots into the reporter at close range yet she in her high heels manages to somehow run neither Robert Kennedy or Lee Harvey Oswald moved with such apace after being shot, how come the reporter managed it?

    PS.

Why does the filming end but the sound continue?

    Fred.

The German decision shows that Scotland is now also leading Europe on GM crops.

The new EU law approved in March cleared the way for new GM crops to be approved after years of previous deadlock.

But the law also gave individual countries the right to opt out by banning GM crops even after they have been approved as safe by the European Commission.

Previously, when the EU approved crops as safe to produce they had to be permitted for cultivation in all EU states.

Under the new EU rules, countries have until October 3 this year to inform the European Commission that they wish to opt out of new GM cultivation approvals.

Republicofscotland the the following contentions could be an answer to your questions:

the interview was live, hence the total attention of the reporter and the cameraman to their work. The shooter was a reporter so he knew the process, thus choosing the occasion. Although how he came to know where the broadcast was from (ie the place and the time) is the question that needs to be researched?

The shots fired did not sever the spinal cord** of the reporter hence her flight whilst screaming, although she could not have gone far. The pneumatic shock of the bullets can be pretty disruptive, and painful. The interviewee however makes a quick exist from the side without any vocalisation. The cameraman seems to have sustained spinal cord injury because he falls with his camera (or drops his camera).

The shooters POV is taken by a phone (vertical clip) the blacked out ending could be due to the finger or thumb on the lens.

The workplace shootings in US are common due to the horrible environment of the workplaces and endemic bullying that seems to be common place there. Lysias perhaps can corroborate or disprove this contention?

You are right to be cynical, in the aftermath of the shooting there is a need to wait and see how the story is spun?

** sever disruptions to the brain or spinal cord render the victim motionless, and unable to move.

The shooter, Vester Flanagan, was fired by the TV station two years ago, so he certainly had time to recover from whatever pressure he might have felt under. Two dead after shooter attacks TV crew during live interview in Virginia:

A DISGRUNTLED former TV station employee allegedly shot dead a journalist and cameraman live on air before posting a video of the murders on social media.

Vester Flanagan II, who went by the name Bryce Williams on air, allegedly killed Alison Parker and Adam Ward of WDBJ, a local TV station in Virginia, about 6.45am Wednesday (8.45pm AEST).

“I filmed the shooting, see Facebook,” the former anchor tweeted along with the chilling video.

He claimed on Twitter that he was the victim of workplace harassment, accusing Parker of being “racist”.

But WDBJ7 General Manager and Vice President Jeff Marks said Flanagan was let go in part due to anger issues and that police were called to escort him from the building on the day he was fired.

Mr Marks said: “He did make some accusations against people some time ago, you could never imagine that someone is going to come back and act on those issues.”

Virginia shooting: Ex-employee Vester Lee Flanagan accused of murdering reporter, cameraman:

DISTURBING details have emerged of the disgruntled former reporter accused of murdering a journalist and cameraman live on air.

Vester Lee Flanagan II, known professionally as Bryce Williams, allegedly killed his ex-colleagues Alison Parker and Adam Ward of WDBJ, a local TV station in Virginia, about 6.45am Wednesday (8.45pm AEST).

Flanagan died about 1.26pm from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

While police have not commented on Flanagan’s motive, ABC News in the US reported that it had received a 23-page manifesto from the alleged gunman about the attack.

In the letter, which he called a “Suicide Note for Friends and Family”, Flanagan outlined his many grievances, including that he was discriminated against for being gay and African American.

“Yes, it will sound like I am angry … I am. And I have every right to be. But when I leave this Earth, the only emotion I want to feel is peace …,” he wrote.

In his rambling manifesto, he said the alleged shooting was a reaction to the racism of the Charleston church shooting.

“Why did I do it? I put down a deposit for a gun on 6/19/15. The Church shooting in Charleston happened on 6/17/15 …” he wrote.

“What sent me over the top was the church shooting. And my hollow point bullets have the victims’ initials on them. …

“As for Dylann Roof? You (deleted)! You want a race war (deleted)? BRING IT THEN YOU WHITE …(deleted)!!!”

Flanagan also quoted the Virginia Tech mass killer, Seung Hui Cho, and expressed admiration for the Columbine High School killers.

“Also, I was influenced by Seung Hui Cho. That’s my boy right there. He got NEARLY double the amount that Eric Harris and Dylann Klebold got … just sayin’.”

He continued: “The church shooting was the tipping point … but my anger has been building steadily … I’ve been a human powder keg for a while … just waiting to go BOOM!!!!”

So we still get the vitriolic hatred of Putin by Resident Dissident puffing his puffball dust into a mist of atomised vapour with nothing concrete. Accusations without substance. I particularily liked:

“I could provide with an entire booklist detailing the crimes of the Putin regime – and I can assure you that the sums involved are an awful lot more than these two Ukraininan oligarchs have embezzled.”

If the booklist is anything like his dodgy links: no thanks.

He cannot support the Kiev hierarchy because he knows they are really corrupt. So as I said and as he proved his whole mindset is: Blame Putin, rewrite modern history giving Merkel credit for Minsk and Minsk 2, and support the Azov forces attacking the good people of Donbas, and of course, blame Poroshenko’s war on his own people on Putin.

  • Resident Dissident

You seem to have corroborated my that work place bullying and general mistreatment of the blacks to be the underlying cause of the anger of the shooter.

Although the mindless/inane optimism (seems to have crossed the Atlantic to here too) that is apparently a mandatory mood in the US somehow tries to cover up the actual misery that the workers are subjected to, and the ordinary citizens are suffering from on day to day basis.

Fact that a dinner lady is fired from her job because she was buying lunch for the hungry kids in the school she was working in is the tip of the iceberg in pushing the whole of the population in the direction of wage slavery without the usual obligations of the slave owners to house, feed and medicate their slaves!

In that vein a little light reading.

An officious woman from the Portsmouth Hospitals CCG came on BBC South Today tonight to promote a ‘treatment centre’ which is underused I guess. The CCG propose closing a walk in centre which is popular and sending their patients to the treatment centre.
