Just got in from the demonstration at the Syrian embassy against the 200 massacred in Homs by your fascist friend Assad? I thought not.

“It didn’t come in today’s post. My guess is they are timing it to avoid the Independent on Sunday, which has been the only newspaper prepared to run with this stiry.”

Alternatively – they might just be using the same post service that the rest of us do.

The whole of the front page of the Independent is devoted to this, an announcement of war on Iran. Everything is given except the day and time of the launch. Disgusting. The author is Donald McIntyre.

Drums of war beat louder as Iran and Israel step up rhetoric
Evidence is mounting that Washington believes an Israeli attack on Iran is now only a matter of time.

Iran’s supreme leader threatened to attack Israel yesterday in retaliation for Western sanctions against the Islamic Republic, warning that “threatening Iran and attacking Iran will harm America”. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s declaration came as apprehension of possible conflict was intensified by a report suggesting that the US Defense Secretary, Leon Panetta, believes Israel could strike nuclear targets in Iran before the summer after concluding that military action might be needed before it was “too late” to stop Tehran’s nuclear programme.

Craig is a nasty man for teasing us so.

Anyhow, I’m going to take a guess and say that I bet Tony Bliar is involved in some way. He always is, the scrofulous little toad.

“Just got in from the demonstration at the Syrian embassy against the 200 massacred in Homs by your fascist friend Assad?”
    _
Got any proof of that? No? Thought not.
    _
Just like all those Gaddaffi ‘atrocities’ that never actually happened except in the minds of Western hacks and phantom ‘human rights’ organisations.
    _
As everyone knows the Free Syrian Army (hint: Western proxy), featuring ‘Al Qaeda affiliated’ mercenaries fresh from the slaughter in Libya, only kill Syrian security forces – even when leaving car bombs in public places or mass executing policemen, who happen to be civilians.
    _
I’m sure todays media saturation coverage of the unrest in Homs has nothing to do with today’s vote at the UN Security Council. Just as I am assured that the reason the Arab League report into the situation has not been ignored just because it apportions much blame on ‘armed groups’, i.e. not the Syrian security forces.

    Anon,
Yeah those two hundred were bussed into London to go and demonstrate in front of the Syrian embassy. these figures and the crappy Capitan giving interviews; “if Syrian fighters attack us we have nothing but light weapons”, ifs, buts, pans, etc. The whole stinking affair is repetition of the tired stories of the warmongers. Only one class of operatives thrive on war; ziofuckwits.

The British have always been masters in waging wars in white gloves… winning its interests with other people’s hands.
Nick Clegg’s words signal: Israel will fight, and Britain is putting white gloves on.

Brendan, calling Tony Blair a ‘scrofulous little toad’ is not fair on toads, and too pleasant a description for TB – I guess the pun was intended.

  • Mary

John Ha! I was thinking about TB earlier and in view of the cold weather, pondering how much he spends on energy bills for the many homes he owns, including Sir John Gielgud’s elegant old pile in Bucks. The last I heard he was annoying the locals by putting up a steel security fence. Probably got the idea from the Israelis.

Until it was leaked. Here it is, in full. (link)
    .
The report is adamant. There was no organized, lethal repression by the Syrian government against peaceful protesters. Instead, the report points to shady armed gangs as responsible for hundreds of deaths among Syrian civilians, and over one thousand among the Syrian army, using lethal tactics such as bombing of civilian buses, bombing of trains carrying diesel oil, bombing of police buses and bombing of bridges and pipelines.

If/ when the FCO reply arrives, please check if it was sent first class post. 2nd is quite likely, though they may well have an arrangment with the Royal Mail that all that’s expected is Third Class (like the old railways), and one that makes arrival akin to entering the National Lottery.
