Martial Law Britain 596

Those coming from Central Asia, Bahrain, Qatar or Saudi Arabia to the Olympics, interested to see what life in a democracy feels like, will find it seems exactly like life at home in their dictatorship. 17,000 soldiers will be glowering over the venues, checking identity documents, stopping and searching. The mlitary will occupy residential buildings, be buzzing overhead, rolling down the streets and patrolling the river. There will be missiles on land, sea and air, though nobody knows what the threat is that this is supposed to counter.

What will make our dictatorship resident visitors feel especially at home is the contempt for the ordinary citizen. Not only will they have the military all over them and be subject to frequent stopping and questioning, they will be expected continually to get out of the way of their betters. Special VIP lanes on the road will allow officials to sweep by, while normal citizens will simply have to sit in gridlock and stew. Who cares? The military will stick missiles on your roof if they wish. What they are going to shoot down, and which bit of London it will land on, is not to be questioned.

Here in Ramsgate we are losing our regular train service to London completely for the duration. All the HS1 trains are being commandeered to run a shuttle service between Ebbsfleet and Stratford. 22 trains a day from Ramsgate are simply cancelled. Slow trains are available, but a journey normally 70 minutes will become – at the fastest possible – 2 hours and 35 minutes. A large number of commuters will simply be unable to get to work anything like on time, and have to spend door to door over seven hours a day in travelling as well as their working day. Nobody was consulted. Quite a few don’t yet know – there has been no determined effort to tell people. Leaflets are available in the ticket office if you ask for one.

But the leaflets might as well just say, “You are fucked, and we don’t care”.

The extra 3,500 military personnel it was today announced will be used at the games cover a shortfall in Group Four personnel. Group Four were providing 4,000 paid staff and 6,000 unpaid volunteers. It is the unpaid volunteer numbers which are short by 3,500.

Most people are not stupid. They may volunteer happily for sport or for charity, but to work for nothing to make tens of millions of pounds of profit for Group Four as it exploits them, plainly does not have universal appeal. Those 2,500 who have volunteered to work for nothing for G4S are the idiots in this story. How gullible can you be?

Bob Russell, MP for Colchester, today in parliament made the excellent point to Teresa May that Group Four (or G4S as they now call themselves) should not be employed because of their role in aiding and abetting Israel’s illegal activities in the West Bank and human rights abuse there. With breathtaking chutzpah Teresa May replied that it was this kind of valuable international experience that made Group Four the right company to provide security for the games.

Which brings me back to my point at the start. Those visiting from oppressive regimes will feel absolutely at home. That is the one and only thing you can trust Teresa May to ensure with grim efficiency.

An ex SAS close protection agent and trainer working for a British security firm has said that sarin gas precursor chemicals were secured by SAS/SBS commandos in the desert south of Tripoli and loaded on trucks shortly after Gaddafi was over-thrown.
    .
He has ‘suggested’ these agents could be/are being transported and could possibly be used in Syria as a catalyst for immediate NATO intervention after an emergency meeting of the Security Council was forced to issue a resolution to protect countries bordering Syria. Russia and China would be under extreme international pressure to abstain allowing the resolution to pass and a Syrian exclusion zone implemented.
    .

He also suggested this plan is real, top secret yet known to the British government, certain top British commanders and the CIA.

I have it on good authority that volunteers are required to work a minimum of a 10 hour shift in order to receive free food vouchers available to all LOCOG paid staff. I also have it on good authority that managers responsible for organizing shift patterns for volunteers, are purposely looking for ways to ensure that volunteers fall short of the 10 hours. So not only are volunteers being exploited by way of free labour, but they are not being fed for the privilege.

    Mary,
Keep on doing what you have been doing. Anyone reading the archives at a later stage could take note of the backdrop of the events taking place concurrent to the topic of the blog under debate. However, it seems that you are drawing the ire of the usual suspects. The cycle of personal criticism has re emerged, until the next time. Fact that any of the would be participants can scroll down and skip comments is going missing. Although it could be argued that the said participants take exception to scrolling down the page, and need a neat and tidy “management summary” provided for them. In this later case Clark ought to be approached and not you perhaps!!

    Daniel,
Not so surprising move there, knowing the fuckwits who are running the show, the depth these will plummet to is an ever deeper depravity and a new record in miserly conduct.

The ketts Independent Alliance has been launched today to an impressive meeting of about 70 people from all over Norfolk. It includes the ex Conservative election agent for Chloe Smith and many others who have been defecting from the Tory’s for month and are now poised to start a new local mandate based alliance.

I’m not worried about the Kett’s tag, indeed meeting all these people today, and speaking to the ex agent who’s been busy promoting Independent candidates everywhere was a refreshing experience. We were right, the Tory’s were bussing in 300 plus volunteers per day, she confirmed it.
The idea is to form a loose alliance of Independents that agree to coordinate on issue they find in common locally, with a common five point programme of intent.
    .
We start NOW, so if I chat less on here and do more, please forgive, but I have to carry on.
It was a positive meeting and the fact that the chap whom organised had a scurrilous poison pen letter delivered to his house the night before, means that they are rattled.
Norfolk is going to change next year, especially West Norfolk and South Norfolk, anybody with an open mind willing to help with the campaign is welcome.

Many are missing the point i think..
    .
The G4S ‘debacle’ is a deliberate false narrative. The truth is the enlarged army presence was the plan all along and the politicos arranged for the G4S supposed fuck up as a cover story in case the public got too worried about such overt militarism.

Mark Golding, that’s very disturbing. We know that Syria and Iran are the only two countries on the US/Israel target-list from 2002-3 not yet totally destabilised. And were it not for China and Russia Syria would already have fallen. The evil of NATO countries has no boundaries.
    .
Meanwhile we should all be aware of what our weapons do to the next generation and hang our heads in shame.

Depressing for me John Goss and I am also outraged at this constant deception. It is at great risk we can peer into the abyss, that bottomless pit of treachery where human life is a mere conduit for intention. The cabal has been exposed yet that nakedness seems to serve only ridicule to the honest and brave.
    .
I am not only a rebel, I am a traitor to the Western cause who will be punished because this scheme is irrepressible, relentless, merciless. However I do not want sympathy or comfort, I want support from entities that can halt this madness, people of back-bone as well as influence. Where are they?

Oddly enough the New York Times seems to be the first (??) of the MSM to challenge the account of a “massacre” in Tremseh.
    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/15/world/middleeast/details-of-a-battle-challenge-reports-of-a-syrian-massacre.html
    .
In the course of their ‘report’ they say: ‘although murky, the evidence available suggested that events on Thursday more closely followed the Syrian government account’
    .
    Meanwhile, Susan Rice is tweeting:
Reports of #TraymsehMassacre are nightmarish – dramatically illustrate the need for binding #UNSC measures on #Syria.
    .
    followed by:
#Syria regime turned artillery, tanks and helicopters on its own men & women. It unleashed knife-wielding shabiha gangs on its own children.
    .
and she *knows* this before any investigation at all has taken place!

  • Rose

Yes John -the immediate response is that we should hang our heads re the next generation – and not just about weapons, but about all the other stuff that is being heaped on the heads of our children and our children’s children; and so it goes. Previous generations carried the same burdens.

Mark G – this will be laughed out of the court I know, but I really believe that the support you call for from “people of back-bone and influence” will come about when sufficient numbers of those without either, become convinced of the need for radical change. The old word for that is prayer.

  • DonnyDarko

    Nevermind,

May said it was planned meticulously, therefore the GS4 fuck up was planned.

  • John Goss

Mark G and Rose the brave are already among us. Whistle-blowers, like the one whose blog this is, like Bradley Manning and Julian Assange for example. They have their supporters, I like to think a growing group of serious-minded people, who do not want to see injustice perpetrated by their own governments. Tomorrow at least five hundred people will be marching on Sydney Town Hall, they are the confirmed marchers. They are marching against their government in favour of Julian Assange. I wish there were more of them, like the 2 million ignored by Tony Blair. Perhaps some kind of divine intervention can save us from the sickness generated in places like Flushing Meadow. I pray.
    .
But there is a lot of apathy. Yesterday I posted a photograph on Facebook of a toilet and cistern which was up against a wall outside a local residence making it look like there was a toilet plumbed to the wall facing the road, with a comment to the effect ‘Desirable residence with outside toilet’. The toilet has gone now and was probably waiting removal after having been replaced with a new one. I also posted photographs of deformed babies from the effects of depleted uranium bombing of Iraq. What disturbed me most was that a few people commented on the outside toilet – a bit of base humour – but the more serious photographs were ignored without comment. Either people are not seeing these or do not want to see them. These are the people who need to get involved if those with the power are to have it removed from them. And that’s a big problem. How?

  • Rose

John – How? to keep on doing what you’re doing – raising awareness – plugging away – “to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to labour and not to ask for any rewards save that of knowing….” – the lot of people of good will down the ages.

  • Clark

Reports of lack of attendance at protests, lack of response to posts and articles, even Craig’s own long silence followed by his post The Impossibility of Rest:
    http://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2012/07/the-impossibility-of-rest/
all suggest that many of us are suffering from something like “Activism Fatigue”; I know that I certainly have been. The dreadful economic circumstances also compound the problem, by making people work longer hours and depriving them of funds to attend protests.
    .
But the anger generated by being deceived and manipulated by the powerful does not go away. No, it builds up like pressure in a closed vessel. Something will provide the trigger at some point.

  • Courtenay Barnett

    @ All,

“Martial law Britain” – not because better can’t be done – but because the arse holes from the Royal family down who hold power do not want to think outside the box to find viable solutions for people and planet earth. They are hell bent on manintaining status quo – and it will not work.

We see the same shit with the Americans provoking the next via Syria into Iran.

But – some do think outside the box:-

Pathetic truth is its hard to have freinds and family chinwagging jokingly on your facebook wall beside shocking images like those. Its right in ways but is disruptive in others, most people want warned before handling tough material, they want to avoid it most of the time. And there are those who kind of revel in it and broadcast it without discretion – which it may deserve. But with facebook being a platform of social whims and plays, tough truthes dont sit well there.

Hi Clark i think that is a side effect of FBs tactics for maximum ‘feedback’ on all its carefully named and photoanalysed ‘members’. I dont think they intended to encourage serious debates on it. But you know make of it whatever you can.

Did anyone hear this item about the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation this morning? Firstly following the population control summit this week which was funded by their foundation, the Gates are promoting a contraceptive implant which is effective for four years (made in China I think I heard it?) which has not been subjected to the usual tests and secondly another contraceptive which can lead to bone density loss. What a cruel trick to be played on unsuspecting women in poor countries. A woman from Oxfam was supporting this.
    .
‘Melinda Gates admits she struggled with her Catholic beliefs before committing to spending hundreds of millions of dollars on contraception and family planning. We discuss what difference this could make with Dermot Grenham from the LSE and Oxfam’s Kathleen Spencer Chapman.’
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01kr7nw#synopsis
    {http://www2.lse.ac.uk/socialPolicy/researchcentresandgroups/populationAtLSE/Studying_PopulationatLSE/Alumni/Dermot_Grenham.aspx} He sounds interesting – a thinker

    .
Their other gambit in their ‘We rule the world’ scenario is to to fund a $10m research fund at the John Innes Centre in Norwich into grain crops that, like legumes, obtain and store nitrogen from the air thus negating the need for fertilizers. All sounds well meaning but dangerous. Read GM Watch – a very interesting and informative website – especially on Monsanto, seeds, pesticides and herbicides. The latter category includes Agent Orange used to devastating effect in the Vietnam War.
    {http://www.gmwatch.org/}
    .
By what right do the Gates tell the world what they should do? A dangerous pair.
    .
PS Thanks Fedup. Appreciate what you say. That is my motivation.

Never mind Facebook ‘Likes’. Facebook is actively monitoring all public and private communications sent through their servers and then informing the police of criminal behaviour! FB isn’t just responding to subpoenas, but are monitoring all users and notifying police about crimes the police have no idea of. I don’t have a FB account because of the privacy issues, but even I was taken aback when I read this article: news.cnet.com/8301-1023_3-57471570-93/facebook-scans-chats-and-posts-for-criminal-activity/
    .
Do some googling on FB and all the Washington insiders and lobbyists they are hiring. It’s pretty damn obvious the FB are trying to position themselves to become the official US internet ID (and therefore world ID), I can only assume the above article is related to FB trying to score brownie points with the authorities. Although I have concerns about googles size and data mining capabilities, google is positively saintly in comparison to FB. Reuters also has an article about the FB technology and their cosy relationship with the police: http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/07/12/us-usa-internet-predators-idUSBRE86B05G20120712

Counterpost from Medialens on the O’limpishambles as I now call it.
    .
In case there’s a ‘terrorist attack’ (or even a terrorist attack) on the Olympishambles, a timely reminder, for people to get their heads straight about what might really be happening, as a prophylactic to the usual screeching mass hysteria that’s always whipped up by the presstitutes and and the pocket-pols on these occasions:

Mr Jeremy *unt is coming on the Marr programme shortly. He had a torrid and humiliating time on Any Questions on Friday night. The audience was young (a community technical college in Uckfield) and aware. I usually have no time for Starkey who was also on the panel but he was spot on this time. As was Lord Oakeshott.
    .
Jonathan Dimbleby chairs a discussion of news and politics from one of the winners of the BBC’s nationwide Schools’ Questions and Answers challenge, Uckfield Community Technology College, East Sussex, with panellists: Jeremy Hunt, Secretary of State for Culture, Media, Sport and the Olympics; Liz Kendall, Shadow Minister for Care and Older People; Liberal Democrat peer, Matthew Oakeshott; and historian, David Starkey.

    Mary:
    .
What I find so incredibly distasteful about all the population control efforts is that they are focusing on Africa, the region with by far the lowest per capita pollution levels. If all the worlds population lived with an environmental impact the average African has, they would be no problem. It’s the American lifestyle that is killing the globe, not the number of Africans. Additionally the facts are that as economic conditions improve, family size decreases. It is beneficial for poor people to have a large family as the family provides a vital support network, if you decrease family size without improving economic opportunities, the poor will suffer even more.

Thanks for that Michael Gove story, its shows how skewed Mr. Gove’s morals are when it comes to preferential funding for the Sedgeford foundation in Beccles.
Fact is that young people are being neglected, by this coalition shambles, especially those who can’t vote, nobody has them on the radar and they will get preferential attention by the new Ketts Independent party/alliance.
    .
This well written article does not mention the unsigned smear letter by a coward, send to Cllr. Gardiner the day before and read out to us. Norfolk’s Conservatives are rattled and their members are leaving the party, including Ms. Smith election agent who says a few things about her, something to mention when it comes to the next round of elections.
    which are?
    .
who in the public knows of the Nov. elections for police commissioners? bar the parties, who are all’ objecting and not agreeing ‘with this new layer of local policing, but are eager to stand candidates for the posts.

    http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/politics/rallying_call_to_norfolk_at_launch_of_new_independents_party_1_1446290

Please, everyone, do consider offering the public an Independent candidate to vote for in Nov.
What would it mean if there is nobody on this supposedly progressive list standing up for what they muse about and believe in? How much longer can those without mandate fool those who are willingly bend over, head in the sand, how much longer will this stasis of parents last.
    .
Are British people concerned about the future of their children, do they want them to live in a 1984 type enslavement and top down dictatorship?

  • Clark

Cheebacow: “…as economic conditions improve, family size decreases.”
    .
Precisely. Pushing contraception is just an exercise in guilt displacement, so that the richer populations can maintain their wealth imbalance over the poorer. It’s obvious why the Gateses advocate this.
    .
Regarding Facebook, have a look at the linked story. Although the problem in that story is caused by Google, exactly the same problem could occur with Facebook, or any of these sites that try to link together everything each individual does, and then target adverts individually.

Imagine what the barefoot movement could do with the type of money which the Gates are willing to pump into dangerously immature GM products and medical commerce ‘solutions’.
    .
Cheebachow very good call on facebooks ‘crime scanning’ Its clear facebook is to be discouraged and used only in a limited fashion. I think the web needs a social network which everyone has a right to use anonymously. It kind of exists already as Reddit – reddit facilitates “throw away” accounts, allows anyone to make and moderate their own ‘subreddits’, which can be used as a private or public social “wall”. By being able to facilitate anonymous microblogging and interaction, reddit shows that it was never for ‘legal reasons’ that facebook demanded our details, it was for facebook’s own interests – whatever the hell they might play out to be.
    .
Good for you Clark and Uzbek for stimulating the medialens board!
    .
Like Nuid, i do sometimes find Marys newstream a bit much, it would certainly get difficult if there where much more than one person doing it. But it works out for me ok because i think Mary links and comments particularly well. So Nuid i support your complaints for a spell, but say generally well done to each of you, thanks and do go on!
