“You have had to live with the missile threat from Gaza for fourteen years now. But now you face a new threat, the tunnels Hamas have built running here from Gaza. How concerned are you about that?”

Incredibly, that really was a question asked by BBC journalist Stephanie Bell of an Israeli man, just broadcast on BBC1. So far over 600 Palestinian civilians have died compared to two Israeli civilians (one of whom was a Bedouin who as a matter of policy are denied air raid shelters). Yet the BBC continues to pump out the narrative that the “problem” is Hamas attacks on Israel.

There are many other more interesting questions Stephanie Bell might have asked. Here are some:

“Do you ever wonder about the lives of the Arab families who lived here before they were removed by force? Whether any of them are now living in Gaza and under those bombs and shells”

“Do you honestly believe that this land is yours because God said so?”

The BBC had also been reporting as credible Israel’s appalling denials that it massacred those families in the UN school, and completely unsubstantiated claim it was stray Hamas fire that did it. The UN have confirmed that Israel has regularly been hitting UN schools and medical facilities.

storing ordinance in a vacant building and storing ordinance in one which is being used for refugees.

    Who made the discovery?

What proof is there that zionist thugs in uniform did not store these “rockets” they had captured earlier?

This smells of rearguard public diplomacy.

Therein lies the problema. Trust issues abound. Are there honest brokers?

“It was the fourth time a U.N. facility has been hit in Gaza fighting since the Israeli operation began on July 8. UNRWA, the U.N’s Palestinian refugee agency, has said it discovered dozens of Hamas rockets hidden inside two vacant schools, but U.N. spokesman Farhan Haq said the school hit Thursday in the northern town of Beit Hanoun was not one of them.

The U.N. has also expressed alarm that rockets found in the schools have gone missing after they were turned over to local authorities in Gaza. “Those responsible are turning schools into potential military targets, and endangering the lives of innocent children,” U.N. staff and anyone seeking shelter there, a U.N. statement said.

Who launched the attack against the U.N. compound in Beit Hanoun also was under dispute.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said Israeli shells hit the school. But Israel’s chief military spokesman, Brig. Gen. Moti Almoz, said the military was investigating and it was too early to know if the deaths were caused by an errant Israeli shell or Hamas fire. “We are not ruling out the possibility that it was Hamas fire,” he said.

Another army spokesman, Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, said there had been Hamas fighting in the area.

“We do not target the U.N. We do not target civilians. There was no target in the school. Gunmen were attacking soldiers near the facility. The school was not a target in any way,” Lerner said.

The military had urged the U.N. and the Red Cross to evacuate the school for three days leading up to the shelling incident, Almoz said, adding that there had been an increase in Hamas attacks from the area in recent days.

“Despite repeated calls from the military to the U.N. and international organizations to stop the shooting from there because it endangers our forces, we decided to respond. In parallel to our fire there was Hamas fire at the school,” Almoz said.

Fedup – “Who made the discovery?”. If you read the link I posted you’ll find out.

How low has the once respected BBC fallen? I was in Riyadh in Aug 1990 when Iraq first invaded Kuwait, the Saudis blocked all news of the invasion for 3 days yet it was no secret. Everyone knew thanks to the BBC world service. All short wave radios in Riyadh sold out in a day, people would gather around Radios to listen the BBC News. Riyadh and all of Saudi Arabia is very safe for all Westerners yet in 2004 after the BBC had made a pact with Zionists BBC journalists Frank Gardner and his Camera man are shoot while reporting from Riyadh. BBC has lost all credibility with their biased reporting and subservience to Israel.

Bullshit. IDF was completely surprised by the scope of the tunnels. This is totally revisionist.

Security sources revealed that Hamas had planned to send 200 terrorists from a tunnel at a time, through dozens of tunnels, across six western Negev towns and kidnap and kill dozens of Israelis. Well, you’re even more of a pessimist than I am, and that’s not easy. I think opinion is shifting. Slowly, and it may stop, but no-one who realises they’ve been played for a sucker as long and continuously as Israel has played the West is going to be vacillating. The rose-(of-Sharon)-tinted specs are beginning to come off.

A most unlikely voice was Greg Dyke, on ‘Any Questions’ tonight. He stated in clear and without qualification that Israel had been by far the most persistent lobbyist of the BBC during his time as DG, and he was explicitly critical of Israel’s actions. He also criticised the routine description by Israel of voices contrary to Israel’s as antisemitic.

Today (22 July 2014), in the course of the regular inspection of its premises, UNRWA discovered rockets hidden in a vacant school in the Gaza Strip. As soon as the rockets were discovered, UNRWA staff were withdrawn from the premises, and so we are unable to confirm the precise number of rockets. The school is situated between two other UNRWA schools that currently each accommodate 1,500 internally displaced persons.

Who were the inspectors is not clarified, this is a rearguard public diplomacy effort. As with the 17000 pages of documents that made their way to UN from Iraq, and because the UN did not have good enough copiers they were taken to US state department and then only three thousand pages ended up in UNSC (how fortuitously lucky for the Bio weapons merchants and salesmen), probably because copiers ate the documents as they got jammed and shucks there were only one set of originals!

I thought I might wait till the trolls went to bed (do they ever?) before posting this. First there is my own link, which took more hits than any of my blogposts ever, and then a much longer one that is saying the same thing but in more detail, and very well worth reading, and it is not TASS.

This is the news report deleted by the BBC from their correspondent in Russia.

    http://slavyangrad.wordpress.com/2014/07/25/video-report-deleted-by-bbc/

The reason, I believe, though there may be many reasons, is that it shows the discredited Ukraine video which was put out two days before.

One thing I would add is that Habbabkuk has continually targeted me to use my own blog rather than being a leech on Craig’s. Fair comment. I got more hits in a single day with my post above (RD note the difference between comment and post) than on any other of my posts.

According to Russia Today, 40 shells were fired from Ukraine into Russia today. D’you see what I did there?
It’s obviously lies, of course: RT always gives the Russian angle on Ukraine while the BBC…er…don’t give the Atlanticist angle on any foreign unpleasantness. All their hacks have taken the pledge to speak truth to power. Ask Jane Standley.

So…if the Ukrainian Government has resigned en masse, who’s giving the orders to shell Russia?

It’ll be Academi and some nasties from the Polish black sites who are doing some of the dodgier stuff in Eastern Ukraine. I’m sure much of the Ukrainian military think they’re fighting for the motherland, or some such concotion, but their “allies” will have one eye on the bigger picture – provoking Russia.

Yes there are economic ties. And I share 98.3 per cent of a DNA with a chimp, like we all do. But we’re different. (please say it ain’ so!).

Russia is an obstacle to American/Israeli interests. Any and every point of leverage will be used, regardless of the human cost, to advance those interests. One day, America might wake up to the fact that Israeli interests are destroying its own.

In the meantime, bring on the BRICS. They’re in the so-called 3rd world, if you’re interested.

  • Ben-American Fascist Flechette

“So…if the Ukrainian Government has resigned en masse, who’s giving the orders to shell Russia?”

They resigned in principle, but will remain in power until the elections, Mike.

    @N McKenzie and GF.

The BBC is supposed to be independent. Therefore it is to blame. Don’t let it off the hook! If a politician tries to interfere with the BBC, they are interfering with democracy. All the BBC has to do is tell us that the/that politician is interfering with the independence of “our” (not the state’s) broadcaster. That is what they were trying to, too late of course, regarding WMD and Iraq, but somebody messed up and enabled the government to “out” David Kelly.

What happened after that was even more of a travesty of democracy, so why was the BBC silent? It seems that any balls they may have had disappeared with the departure of Greg Dyke.

  • Ben-American Fascist Flechette

Welcome back, John. You keep an even keel and we need that here.

To the CEOs of ABP, HP, Veolia, Barclays, Caterpillar, and G4S:

“In the wake of the terrible violence unfolding in Israel-Palestine, we, citizens from around the world, are deeply concerned about your companies’ continued investment in companies and projects that finance illegal settlements and the oppressive occupation of the Palestinian people. 17 EU countries recently issued warnings to their citizens against doing business or investing in illegal Israeli settlements. Given those legal considerations, you now have the opportunity to withdraw investments and respect international law. This is a chance to be on the right side of history.”

here is an excellent Piece Debunking the Israeli Lies.

Five Israeli Talking Points on Gaza—Debunked

    Number 3 –

    3) This Israeli operation, among others, was caused by rocket fire from Gaza.

Israel claims that its current and past wars against the Palestinian population in Gaza have been in response to rocket fire. Empirical evidence from 2008, 2012 and 2014 refute that claim. First, according to Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the greatest reduction of rocket fire came through diplomatic rather than military means. This chart demonstrates the correlation between Israel’s military attacks upon the Gaza Strip and Hamas militant activity. Hamas rocket fire increases in response to Israeli military attacks and decreases in direct correlation to them. Cease-fires have brought the greatest security to the region.

During the four months of the Egyptian-negotiated cease-fire in 2008, Palestinian militants reduced the number of rockets to zero or single digits from the Gaza Strip. Despite this relative security and calm, Israel broke the cease-fire to begin the notorious aerial and ground offensive that killed 1,400 Palestinians in twenty-two days. In November 2012, Israel’s extrajudicial assassination of Ahmad Jabari, the chief of Hamas’s military wing in Gaza, while he was reviewing terms for a diplomatic solution, again broke the cease-fire that precipitated the eight-day aerial offensive that killed 132 Palestinians.

Immediately preceding Israel’s most recent operation, Hamas rocket and mortar attacks did not threaten Israel. Israel deliberately provoked this war with Hamas. Without producing a shred of evidence, it accused the political faction of kidnapping and murdering three settlers near Hebron. Four weeks and almost 700 lives later, Israel has yet to produce any evidence demonstrating Hamas’s involvement. During ten days of Operation Brother’s Keeper in the West Bank, Israel arrested approximately 800 Palestinians without charge or trial, killed nine civilians and raided nearly 1,300 residential, commercial and public buildings. Its military operation targeted Hamas members released during the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange in 2011. It’s these Israeli provocations that precipitated the Hamas rocket fire to which Israel claims left it with no choice but a gruesome military operation.

i seen that wee baby earlier…and it reminded me of something i came across at the beginning of this week
… check out these T shirts that the Evil IDF have custom made… Sickening

” There is another report in today’s Ha’aretz that I do want to comment on. Uri Blau’s article “‘No virgins, no terror attacks'” describes the practice of Israeli soldiers getting custom clothing printed with their unit’s insignia along with graphics and text. Below are some examples of shirts that were printed, along with some of the images. These images only appeared on Ha’aretz’s Hebrew-language website:

A T-shirt for infantry snipers bears the inscription “Better use Durex,” next to a picture of a dead Palestinian baby, with his weeping mother and a teddy bear beside him.
A sharpshooter’s T-shirt from the Givati Brigade’s Shaked battalion shows a pregnant Palestinian woman with a bull’s-eye superimposed on her belly, with the slogan, in English, “1 shot, 2 kills.”

    FFS!

    It’s all about tolerances.

Will none of you understand Milliband only got the gig becos he was programmed to fail.It was a done deal.

If the Tories managed to survive the age of austerity,IDS,the banking crisis and ATOS brutality without Boris’s water canon they were meant to get in in 2015,it was written.

    Miliband knew this deal.

Now just watch the real “nd term destrucion of UK society at the Tories hand with ideological brutalism even Thatcher couldn’t have dreamed of.

There will be real horror on the road ahead.

Trust me,and Miliband knew and signed up to the deal.

  • guano

Talking of Durex, the (Greater) Israeli Emporium, formerly known as ISIS, is now stocking razor blades, for the purpose of Mutilating the Female Genitalia of all women under their control between the ages of 12 and 46.

Wasn’t the word ‘radical’ one of Mrs Thatcher’s euphemisms for introducing evil reforms. FGM has no part in the Sunna/ prescribed ways of Islam. The Zionist campaign of radicalisation/Calvinisation of Islam found that the most pressing reform in front of the infant Caliphate was to debase the women folk and degrade the men.

So long as radical does not also mean cutting things out by the root, that has been part of Middle Eastern culture for a very long time. Nothing to do with Islam.

Looking forward to the new catalogue soon.

I never use Habbabreak because i like to see what an incompetent sockpuppet does before their seriously frustrated line manager tells them how to undo their foolishness.

  • GF

Jives, “Miliband knew and signed up to the deal” – I know, I’ve heard that too.

The questions are whether Miliband will stick to the deal – after all, he’s no gentleman – and whether, in the end, it will be entirely up to him.

“I believe that bringing about all this is in Israel’s interest as well. But firing rockets into Israel, even to express genuine grievance, won’t help.”

    ——————————————

Abe, surely you don’t believe that Israel will ever allow such a thing.

As for it being in Israel’s interest; if Israel wanted peace that might be the case but Israel wants to ethnically cleanse Gaza and annex that land.

It also wants to do the same in the West Bank
It wants to push all Palestinians into surrounding countries and expand into the Jewish “promised land”.

There will be no two-state solution.
