I must be an innocent – it took me quite some time – even after reading the comment about the width of the sword. You’ve got a dirty mind, Craig! 🙂

Well I suppose I should try to get to the anti-Trident nuclear weapons demonstration.

But it would probably make more sense to campaign for nuclear war as soon as possible, as that might halt climate change and global warming. I think, on balance, our little planet would recover quicker from nuclear war than from runaway global heating, but there’s no way I can know.

Probably I should just do whatever they say in the Big Media ‘cos they know Best…

Which is work, buy, work, buy, work, buy….

Is that the sword of Truth on that poster?

    Craig-

As a pro immigrationist you’ll be pleased to learn that Royal House Chapel International are selling their snake oil (sorry, ‘enriching the vibrant multiculture’) in the UK, a few miles away from where I’m typing this-

Is it just my imagination, or is the ‘Donate’ link in larger font than the rest of the bilge on their home page ?

“Is that the sword of Truth on that poster?”

    No, just a normal sword.

The words were written long before Christianity, when the Hebrew religion was still a tiny grass roots religion. They spent most of their time hiding in caves from persecution, they were fighting against huge odds against the massive establishment of the day.

Looks like there are some in Ghana who can still relate to that.

Proof reading – a forgotten skill (though not one I can boast of). What a classic example of failing to take a second look at something before signing approval. I wonder if a committee was involved in approving this poster.

    It’s just your imagination.

“I’m NOT going to let God arise. I have him securely gaffer-taped down and that’s where he’s staying.”

Considering what is going on in West Africa like Boko Haram and ISIS and the full psalm, “Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered let them also that hate him flee before him.” I don’t think the sword or the message is going to be too ambiguous to the local population.

Perhaps the word ARSE does not have the same meaning for the people where you took the photo.

Perhaps like ‘box’ in amerika; or ‘pippa’ (for Philippa) in Greece.

No Clark – keep a tight lid on that one, until you have the mental strength to open it up and see the whole crock of nonsense for what it is.

Religion has always been a useful tool to keep us in line and that IMO includes Christianity (versions of) Islam and Judaism. The nugget of truth that lies within all of them is buried beneath centuries of dogma, doctrine and tradition, usually passed down by blokes in frocks wielding real power. Funny how so many “religious” people like the idea of bombing isn’t it?

“Fred, sorry, I don’t understand what you mean.”

It seems obvious to me who “those that hate him” is referring to and what the sword signifies. I expect events in Nigeria are at the forefront of people’s minds in Ghana.

Phil the ex frog, 11:39 am: interesting article.

In the literal sense of economics it should be impossible to invest in nuclear weapons. They are guaranteed to only ever be a cost and never produce a return (at least this side of economic rebuilding following a nuclear war, and that is probably impossible).

Of course banks lend money to governments knowing that it will be spent on nuclear weapons. They do so because they are sure that governments will pay.

But there is clearly something crazy about this.

  • Clark

Rose, thanks, but the evidence indicates that my emotional condition will continue to deteriorate until I go under.

To many commenters here, probably the majority, that is good.

Famously the book of Exodus (33:21-23) recounts how the Hebrew God Jehovah flashes his arse at Moses.

It does not record Moses’s reaction, nor whether Jehovah’s crapper bore any tattoos – either referring to Rangers Football Club and the Ulster Volunteer Force or of any other design.

The book of Leviticus, said to have been written by the same Moses, bans Hebrew people from getting tattoos. But Jehovah himself is not conceived of as a human being, so the tattoo issue remains undecided.

And Clark. I too suffer, badly. But spring is nearly here, the snowdrops are out and even when you think hope is a long way off, you can still hope for hope.
I find it helps to care a wee bit less, all’s futile really. So just accept that, and enjoy the fucking amazing, highly unlikely chain of events that brought a good peep like you into existence.

    Techno. Best comment so far.
“If you insult the almighty Universal Backside, presumably you get a Fartwa declared on you.”
Maybe Habba has a joke for us ?

  • Rose

Clark – Defo’s right. In fact instead of a bucket list, make a fucket list with all the “out there” stuff at the top, and then have a look around for immediate need in your vicinity. Anybody want help with shopping or digging or unblocking a loo? – just to continue with the bottom themed topic.

I agree – Techno gets the gold star

ARSE does not compute in American English…it doesn’t mean anything – you ASS.

Whereas is Moscow 2 Million Muslims Stick their Bums in the Air and Kiss The Earth – and no one minds. They are only praying to God. They are not threatening anyone.

Great Drone photography. If this happened in London there would be a massive freak out.
