JOHN PILGER AND ROGER WATERS BACK JUNE VIGILS AND RALLIES FOR JULIAN ASSANGE
    John Pilger
    4 June 2018

A salute to Julian Assange by Rogers Waters at his concert in Berlin on 3 June

On 19 June 2018, it will be six years since Julian Assange was forced to take refuge in the Ecuadorean embassy in London. He had been warned that the US planned an extradition warrant for his arrest. His ‘crime’ was that of a scrupulous editor – WikiLeaks had revealed the war crimes of the US. Today, Julian has never been more isolated, and his health is failing.

On Sunday 17 June, the SEP will stage a rally for Julian in the heart of Sydney, Australia, his homeland. This is backed by John Pilger, Roger Waters, Julian Burnside QC and Terry Hicks, father of former Guantanamo prisoner, David Hicks. John Pilger will address the rally from the steps of Sydney Town Hall, which starts at 1pm.

On Tuesday 19 June, there will be a rally and vigil outside the Ecuadorean embassy in London, beginning at 6pm. Other vigils will be held outside British embassies around the world on the same day. In Dublin, Nobel Peace Prize winner Mariead Maguire and members of the Irish parliament, Clare Daly and Mick Wallace, will speak in support of Julian outside the British embassy.

At a stroke, the EU has cut us out of the Galileo project.

I believe I heard that we have contributed £1billion to it so far but I cannot be sure of that.

There was a Q&A in the HoC today. Replies came from the Defence PUS, Guto Bebb. https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2018-06-14/debates/8FE1C9A2-B9E7-4FA1-9D05-E7F70DE85B8D/GalileoProgramme

*Not a conflict. It is legitimate resistance to an armed occupation.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Defensive_Shield In 2002.
497 Palestinians were killed (according to UN), 1,447 wounded and 7,000!! detained.

Why the CFoI membership? He was originally a member of Plaid Cymru which his grandfather co-founded.

We have cut ourselves out of the Galileo project. The only thing that matters to the Tory nutters is their ability to make money out of free trade. They plan to make a new South Sea bubble by which they sell government trading franchises to business investors. Anything that does not put money in their pockets is irrelevant to them. They are true devotees of Mammon=Thatcher=Market and Mrs May is their mummied-cat totem-pole.

      • Dave Lawton

No lets claim back from the EU the Billions it has cost. It`s a useless project which we should not be paying the EU for duplicating GPS technology the money could go on are own tech innovations.
We should not pay the EU a penny because we have a mutimillion dollar satnav industry because of the free GPS data provided by the US government. It has created a huge industry from electronics companies making components to navigational software systems plus greater productivity which you don`t see because people no longer get lost. Now look at the stupid ripoff EU,what a genius,so far it has spent €22.2 billion and that was in 2007 borne entirely by taxpayers for Galileo satellite navigation system and they are still spending. And it is fully encrypted so you have to pay to access it.Well what do you know it is that people prefer the free GPS system. Having worked for years in Research and electronics we would never design a system if there was one on the shelf we would use.It is the height of arrogance and stupidity.

Craig – If you are handing out either the annual ‘irony’ or ‘lack of self awareness’ award any time soon, its time to pony up. No one will ever in the future of the internet top this gem from the resident intellect. Absolutely stunning.

Anonchap, you being obsessed with child abuse for some reason……did you know the nazi chap convicted of plotting to murder the Labour mp recently was also being investigated for being a pedophile? Your mate Tommy seems to attract these types like shit does flies, for some reason. Do you have any idea why Anonce? Would you class them as a ‘gang’ too?

        • Jack of all trades

Yes it most certainly is. It is a sickness. And our esteemed blogger has a very bad case of it. So bad that he’s become a bit of a joke in most circles (be sure to insert some pithy quote here about how ‘all great truths begin as blasphemies’ or something equally hilarious..), except for the massive personality cult that has grown up on this site. Seeing the ‘Joo’ behind every world event really actually defeats anything that he – or his legions of adoring groupies – are trying to do, because it marks them out as such obvious fruitcake, that no one believes him. I often wonder if Mr Murray is a Zionist plant.

      • Jo Dominich

Charles, many ‘blokes who said something many years ago and are now dead’ are oft still quoted these days and those quotes and observations are still relevant. There is no point in just throwing out stupid comments because it isn’t really intelligent debate or dissent is it?

    • Paul Barbara

      @ Doug Scorgie June 14, 2018 at 19:10
Excellent comment, Doug. Be interesting vot kinda response you get – I suspect the ‘Loony’ won’t respond, but who knows?

      • Loony

        You want a response?

My comment had to do with 14th century crimes committed by Muslims against Hindus in India. It had nothing whatsoever to do with Israel, Palestinians or anyone at all making any kind of remark in the 20th century.

As Anon1 observes it is like a derangement in some people.

…and then just to prove the accuracy of that observation person the very same observer is then subject to an inane smear by someone seeking to link him with a man who murdered a Labour MP.

If you take a look at the caliber of intellect on display here then calling it a derangement is a very mild way of describing the issue.

Finally the BBC get round to reporting the Saudi attack on the Yemeni port which will lead to genocide of the population by starvation.

Yemen war: Fighting rages over vital port of Hudaydah
    2 hours ago
‘Fierce fighting has been reported after pro-government forces in Yemen, backed by a Saudi-led coalition, launched an offensive on the rebel-held city of Hudaydah, a key port for aid supplies.

Thirty Houthi rebels and nine members of pro-government forces are said to have been killed.

Coalition forces are now within two kilometres of the city’s airport, the Emirati envoy to the UN says.

The UN Security Council is to hold urgent talks on Yemen on Thursday.

About eight million people are at risk of starvation in the war-torn country and the coastal city is where most aid arrives for people in rebel-held areas.’

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-44477500

    • Anon1

While I do not support the Saudi action, it does not help the Yemeni people’s efforts to avoid starvation that virtually all the agricultural land in the country is turned over to the production of narcotics.

          • Radar O’Reilly

I’ve personally worked amongst some of the mountain warlords, I crossed the Saudi/Yemen border quite a few times in the 80’s – a border which KSA never recognized even then – and I helped with installing infrastructure at agricultural NGOs north of Sana’a.

All the fertile terraced valleys and mountains, (terraced in antiquity) were busy growing Khat/qat in the 1980s. I tried a mouthful. Think of a handful of lawn-clippings, freshly mown – insert in mouth and chew for an hour or two. Keep chewing even tho’ your jaw hurts. You might, eventually, obtain a slight lift of the order of magnitude of a small shot of espresso, but in my case I detected no positive or negative effect. Khat/qat was consuming an increasing share of the Yemeni water resources, recently, before the genocide started. I’d wager that the locals now have more interest in finding a cup of beans than a mild stimulant. It seemingly is widely on sale in London.

          • Anon1

Probably the country I would like to visit more than any other but I don’t think it will happen any time soon.

          • Republicofscotland

“that virtually all the agricultural land in the country is turned over to the production of narcotics.”

            Anon1.

A little bit of an exaggeration there eh, don’t you think? The link claims 15%.

Still you do have a point, however Yemen has to import most of its food stuffs medicines etc, and although the growing of drugs (narcotics) isn’t helpful to the situation. I think the greater problem lies in the Saudi blockades stopping urgent supplies from reaching the masses.

          • Anon1

That is the official figure. The actual figure is much higher and production consumes almost half the water in a country very short of water.

It was an exaggeration to say “almost all” (I must have been thinking of the mountainous areas), but I would suggest it is no exaggeration to say half the land is given over to production of khat.

          • Republicofscotland

“and production consumes almost half the water in a country very short of water.”

Anon1, you can’t help yourself can you? Your link claims 38%, when did 38% become almost half?

Still it’s near the end of the day, and I’ll forgive your boyish exuberant exaggerations. ?

          • Anon1

38% is almost half. And again, it is likely much more than that.

Still, what you need to address is why a desert country like Yemen is using almost half its agricultural water supply to grow drugs.

          • Republicofscotland

            Anon1.

I think what most of us in here will be addressing in our minds, is how do you know that it’s more than the stated figures.

    • Charles Bostock

      Quite simple,my dear Watson.

There would be less famine if more food was grown.

But 50% of the land where food could be grown/could have been grown is/has been devoted to the growing of khat.

That’s the anything crop production has to do with.

      All clear now?

He is incapable of providing a link. Unlike me.

      • devenish

Not quite kiddo bostock. How does one grow food when the Saudi airforce systematically bomb the crops and agricultural land? Hmmm? Toughie? Go on, reach in to that bag of dead cats? I’d imagine an upstanding individual as yourself would advise they chew the smoldering roots mixed in with a little dirt, right? Tasty. Top guy. Jolly good

Could you also be a tad more genuine with you replies when addressing the attempted genocide of the Houthi tribe in Yemen by their Wahhabi neighbours. These are mainly defenseless women and children after all. Yemen is not being starved. A portion of Yemen controlled by the Houthi, possibly less than 20% of the land mass, is being besieged by land, sea and air. Grow their own food. Give it a f*cking rest. You could be accused of being a fraud by some.

Bizarre times these are we live in when the Wahhabists most vocal supporters online are the pro Isrel zionist brigade. Just as the vast amounts of pineapples, this coffee never reaches Kenian consumers its a cash crop for rich countries and their excesses.

Khat is not the problem, dealing arms to a murderous homophobic regime that jails young democracy demonstrators, as well as Women campaigning to lift the strict hijab laws. Fifty execution?month is not unheard off.

I see Graham Holdings flogged off a TV station to Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway in a stock exchange, having flogged the Washington Port to Amazon’s Bezos. They are now diversifying into healthcare (very lucrative in the US private health system) and higher education where the $s roll in by the billion.

StudentAdvisor.com is an education research (reviews written by students, alumni, and parents) and comparison destination (tools to download and compare multiple colleges) for students, parents, and lifetime learners.

          • Herbie

I often wondered why Baal had such a thing for Blair specifically. Blair is simply continuous with the neoliberal plan begun by Thatcher and continued by May today.

It’s not their idea. It’s a globalist rollout.

I thought it might have something to do with Blair’s role in NI, which effectively ended Unionist state power in NI.

But there again Blair was just following the globalist plan for Ireland, which is ongoing to this day.

I think when the Unionist elite vacated NI in 1970, they weren’t going to allow middle class Unionism and certainly not working class Unionism access to all the powers that go with that state power.

by e-mail just received from Reprieve US

‘ Breaking news from our fight against Trump’s illegal drone war: Bilal Abdul Kareem, a US journalist, has won the right to challenge his inclusion on the ‘Kill List’ – a list of people the US is targeting for assassination by drone strikes.

Bilal is a freelance journalist who has reported for CNN, Al Jazeera, and the BBC. He has reported on the conflict in Syria since it began, conducting interviews from the frontlines.

Bilal poses no risk to the US, does not support any terrorist group, and has not committed any crime. Despite this, the US has already attempted to kill Bilal on multiple occasions, including two strikes on the headquarters of his news agency and a further two on cars in which he was travelling.

Yesterday the DC District Court ruled that Bilal can finally challenge his inclusion on the Kill List.

This is a huge victory, not just for Bilal, but for everyone who believes in one of our country’s most cherished values: due process. For too long our Government has been secretly targeting people, including US citizens, for death by drones. This ruling reminds everyone that the Constitution, and our values, cannot be ignored.

    Thank you,

    Jennifer Gibson
    Head of Assassinations Project
    Reprieve

P.S. Do you agree that journalists should be able to work in the field without fear of being targeted and killed by US drones? Please help our lawyers and investigators to fight the Kill List.

You’d never guess that from what’s happening on the ground, rather than wishful thinking.
Rolling back Left governments in Latin America (Brazil, Argentina, Honduras, Haiti, Ecuador, attempts in Nicaragua and Venezuela); rapidly extending forces over most of Afriaca; threatening Syria (ONCE AGAIN, U.S. WARNS SYRIAN ARMY FROM ADVANCING IN SOUTHERN SYRIA: https://southfront.org/once-again-u-s-warns-syrian-army-from-advancing-in-southern-syria/ ‘Don’t you lay a finger on our ‘Moderate Headchoppers!’); ramping up the tensions in Ukraine: ‘UKRAINIAN MILITARY DEPLOYS LARGE NUMBER OF BATTLE TANKS, OTHER EQUIPMENT NEAR CONTACT LINE WITH DPR, LPR FORCES (VIDEO)’:

The problem is virtually all the world’s ‘leaders’ are evil crooked barstewards or basteward-maids; and they have sold out to the aptly-named ‘Great Satan’ (or it’s controllers).
Power is so centralised now, that half-way decent people don’t stand a chance to stop these Luciferian War Criminals.
The US may be the 4th Reich, but it will not last 1,000 years! The Big Guy Upstairs will see to that.

          Paul,
yep, I am aware of US foreign policy. Your links are helpful in providing detailed evidence. I’m interested in an abstracted model showing the humanitarian crimes at a higher level (by country / resource / petro-currency) that could be published – with drill down detail as you have provided.

“dying” in that they face an increasingly “vivid” multipolar world with China, Russia et al and the 1b1r initiative engaging other countries in what appears to be a more cooperative approach than GS’ liberation of Libya.

It may not be clear to the masses but there are plenty of high placed financial people who are more than aware and may wish to extend the lives of themselves and their families?

Will the GS press the button? I doubt it, but mistakes are far more likely as DJT has outsourced responsibility for offence to his military and John Bolton festers in his cabinet.

As I said, thanks for the links, I’ll dig through them and share to other sites.

I do not condone a kill list of course but on the other hand the subject of this kill order is a notorious advocate of Jabhat al Nusra in Syria which the US has and still does support behind the scenes. This to me sounds like a stunt just to show that there are some checks in the US. Tosh. If Bilal is on a kill list it would be a secret one and no amount of judicial review would overturn it.

And how is the swamp here? – 😉

    Anyone seen this?… https://warroom.armywarcollege.edu/articles/utility-military-force/

I was just searching for the interntional law term for protected / assured evidence in transit and it popped up.

“Nations should employ military force to achieve their political objectives in consistency with the norms of the international community to a lower cost by comparison to the other elements of national power. The skillful combination of diplomacy, information and economics shape the environment to enable a legitimate use of force. The success of the use of military force depends on the alignment of ends, ways and means and the adjustment to the risk level. Operation Serval and the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) are two contemporaneous examples of a successful and an ineffective use of force.

The sentence we should focus on is perhaps “The skillful combination of diplomacy, information and economics shape the environment to enable a legitimate use of force.”

and precied: “information” to “shape the environment to enable a legitimate use of force.”

Peace out 🙂 it’s all going to be just fine and lovely.

    • Twostime

MINUSMA sounds like a hell storm of local death too. I’m going to bed – i feel safer unconscious.

What kind of thinktank did that piece of combined neo-liberal and neo-conservative tripe come from?
A think-tank that justifies breaking international law for the sake of saving money. Is that what Trump means when he says the US is going to save lots of money stopping Korean war games? To threaten the world with nuclear destruction is more efficient than deploying expensive tanks.planes and boots on the ground?

The nuclear button will be pressed like the buttons on TV quiz-games if we go down that road.
Why did you press your nuclear button? it seemed like the most efficient and cost effective use of resources at the time.

      • Twostime

giyane, it was from https://warroom.armywarcollege.edu The United States Army War College where you can learn all sorts of things including how to use “information” to “shape the environment to enable a legitimate use of force.”.

The “information” I assume is the news – propaganda will “shape the environement” against the American publics natural inclination to enable “legitimate use of force” – that would be international war crimes, that are on going across the planet. Propaganda against the US public has been legal since 2012 https://consortiumnews.com/2012/06/11/defense-bill-legalizes-us-propaganda/ .

        Hope that helps.

The battle for Scots independence will be fought in the gritty mire of Westminster and not in the boudoirs and salons of La Belle Epoque de la Quisling.

    • JOML

quasi_verbatim, every post you make mentions “quisling”, but the rest the of the post doesn’t appear to relate to Ruth Davidson.
Other than that, I agree that the main battle will be in Westminster, while there will also be skirmishes with some of Ruth’s biggest supporters.

I expect to see more and more Lesbians, Gays and Transgenders, in forward political roles fronting the Globalist agenda.

And all that’s aimed at the young people, rather than oldies.

Dunno to what extent the stance of Russia and other more traditional societies shall have on this.

          Or Trump.

But yeah, Michel Foucault’s “pact with the devil” is perhaps appropriate here.

The idea was that the Left would trade its critique of neoliberal economics for full sexual freedom.

And so it came to pass.

          The satanic snake wins again.

I am aware of that case. But here is a must watch which I received the link to this morning, both for that pair and indeed anyone interested in the Tommy Robinson/EDL/’Grooming’ buusiness and paedophilia in general: ‘John Wedger (ITNJ Seating)’: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z01qB-HeYV8
It is a 40-minute video of an ex-policeman on how grooming and paedophilia are covered up by police High Command.
Melanie Shaw is another case where a whistleblower has been viciously victimised by the State.
      Jon Wedger’s testimony is devastating.

I don’t often watch Question Time but for some odd reason I did tonight.

It was very interesting to see the more relaxed hand of the BBC with its guard down allowing Welsh people to express views on things like devolution without the usual derision that Scottish audience and panel members are routinely subjected to.

Of course, in the case of Wales the BBC and British state have much less to worry about. Wales doesn’t have the vast natural resources and economic appeal that Scotland offers. And Wales is way behind Scotland on the road towards resurrection and self determination.

That all said, I was very much impressed by the display of intelligence shown by some of the Welsh audience members, particularly the younger ones. I have expressed a dim view of the Welsh in the past, from the outside looking in it looks like they all too often bow to their imperial masters, but I will think differently about doing that in future.

    That’s it.

We in Wales are soon to celebrate the five hundredth anniversary of our Treaty of Union with England, signed by Good King Hal in 1536, finding time amidst his wives and his head-chopping.

Since then we have enjoyed absolute equality with the English and have finessed and finagled them in ways the Scots will never learn to do. To keep them in line we occasionally send over one of our better politicians, such as David Lloyd-George, Nye Bevan or Roy Jenkins.

Of course, as a sop to modern times, we have a sort of glorified Greater Welsh Council in Cardiff, sometimes laughingly referred to as the National Assembly, but that is a scab that will soon fall off.

      • Xavi

Shame that equality doesn’t extend to economic activity. Productivity / output per head in inner London is now 8 times higher than in the Valleys of South Wales. That’s the largest difference within any European state from the Atlantic to the Black Sea. (‘Eurostat regional yearbook: 2016 ed’, 14 sept, 2016, p. 118.) Doubtless attributable to all the investment the Welsh have managed to finesse and finangle from the UK system.

      • Hatuey

Not sure what that Treaty amounts to when Wales was annexed…maybe you’re being sarcastic when you describe that as a Treaty.

I suppose it’s a bit like Hitler’s Treaty with the Sudetenland.

No she is not being re-educated – I doubt it very much that it is possible for such a stupid person. She is being punished for being found guilty on two counts of causing obscene material to be sent and one of sending obscene material. Only a fool would argue that the material concerned was not obscene.

The point here is that many prominent Zionist tacticians found this private prosecution going too far. Even Oliver Kamm ffs!

It’s pushing things to a point where you could be accused of playing into the hands of the enemy.

There’s all sorts of manipulative and deceptive devils around.

So you have to be careful and not push things so far that you create a reaction you don’t want, but which may suit the agenda of someone else.

Someone, shall we say, who understands basic Newtonian alchemechanics.

Norwegian MP Bjørnar Moxnes has nominated the Palestinian-led movement for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions for the Nobel Peace Prize. I agree that the time has come for Palestinians to be free from occupation and apartheid, and that a Nobel peace prize for BDS would be a meaningful step towards justice.

Amazing & horrifying to think that can occur in our modern “civilised” era; same as extra-judicial murders via drones, non-stop war-propaganda, lies to destroy whole countries, etc, etc

      • Jo Dominich

Macky, it’s getting worse as well. Can’t wait until dollar loses its reserve currency status and the EU ditch the dollar for petrol and other purchases. It will happen sooner than we think. That will curtail the USA’s world interference powers somewhat I hope. We live in an increasing age of Govt tyranny both in this country and the USA. I can’t speak for other EU or western countries on this count. The problem we have is the British nation are a bunch of brainwashed propaganda fed population who will not take to the streets to revolt against his dreadful excuse for a Government. Until we do, thanks to their private propaganda machine known as the MSM, the situation will get worse.

        • Macky

In an online age of undeniable awareness, we are a collective have our humanity daily insulted as we watch helpless as the people of Gaza are imprisoned & then shot for complaining, we watch as bodies of drowned refugees are regularly washed-up or their boats are turned away, we watch helpless as a whistle-blower is literally being censored to death.

Sure cruelty as always existed, but even in the recent past it was mostly covered-up & unreported, now tptb seem to happy tp flaunt it in our faces in order to desensitice & degrade our compassion.

          • Jo Dominich

Macky, added to that, they don’t just flaunt it in our faces but they just stand by and do nothing in a show that they are all powerful and we have no power to change anything.

These show that, just like here, not only do the cover-ups come right from the top, but so do the perpetrators. Don’t disbelieve Pizzagate, it fits above information perfectly (indeed, Pizza parlours were traditionally used by the Mafia as drug distribution centres).
Children ‘taken into care’ are also, just like here, particularly at risk, often with the connivance of the ‘Care’ officials.

‘It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.’ Luke 17:2
This is one of the sins Jesus was most emphatic about. Hence, a sin most cherished by Satan.
I have little doubt that that is why so many rich and famous people indulge in paedophilia, thus getting their rewards from Satan/Lucifer in the shape of wealth and power.

The Blairite, Mann, could not hide his hatred for the SNP when he venomously spat out the word “STUNT” at the beginning of his contribution, on the topic about the SNP walkout, on QT last night. This hatred is obviously a result of the loss of so many of their senior MP’s in Scotland.
Blinded by this hatred he fails to see that the Speaker failed to follow procedure, which led to his altercation with and his subsequent suspension of the SNP leader. Unless it was a conspiracy involving the speaker, it would be a very cunning stunt indeed.

Andriy Parubiy, speaker of the Ukraine Parliament, is in the UK. After meeting Alan Duncan, Mark Lancaster and Tom Tugendhat in London, he popped up to Scotland. Here he is with Ken Macintosh:

    https://twitter.com/AndriyParubiy/status/1007250335763714048

That’s objectionable because, to quote Channel 4, “Parubiy was the founder of the Social National Party of Ukraine, a fascist party styled on Hitler’s Nazis, with membership restricted to ethnic Ukrainians.” The JC echoed this description in 2015 with the text “Mr Parubiy sparked controversy after he co-founded the far-right Socio-National Party of Ukraine in 1991, which was later renamed Svoboda. The party, which described itself as an ‘enemy of communism’, was modelled on Hitler’s fascist ideology and restricted membership to ethnic Ukrainians … ”

    Now welcomed by our politicians.

“A suspected Islamic extremist arrested in Cologne succeeded in making ricin and was planning a “biological weapon attack” in Germany, prosecutors said on Thursday. Sief Allah Hammami, a 29-year-old Tunisian, was held on Wednesday along with his German wife after police found large quantities of the deadly toxin his apartment. It is believed to be the first time Islamic extremists in Europe have succeeded in manufacturing ricin, which is one of deadliest biological agents known to man. “This is the biggest potential threat ever found in Europe,” Bild newspaper quoted a source close to the investigation as saying.”

SERIOUSLY?!!! – Did Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey have time to visit his home after he was exposed to the poison but before he exhibited symptoms? Or did someone deliberately pour bucketfuls of Novichok into his home?

‘This Must Be a Joke!’ Twitter Loses It Over UK’s Latest Blunder in Skripal Saga

Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey, who also fell ill after being exposed to Novichok, receiving £430,000 in compensation for his family home.

Actually I suspect there is nothing wrong with the house. It is Detective Sergeant Nick Bailey that is too poisonous to be allowed to roam free. He will be given a new identity, transferred to the USA and released into the custody of some FBI witness protection program. He must never be allowed to speak to public.

The secret that Nick Bailey must never reveal is that he was poisoned two days after the Skripals, most likely in the evidence room at the police station by the £100,000 of cash in the red bag.
