Only Sweat the Small Stuff 922

I was called by a journalist yesterday who told me that in Dewsbury six years ago I shared a platform with Baroness Warsi’s now husband at a meeting against the persecution of Muslims. Sadly I couldn’t really help him as at the time I was doing hundreds such events and have only the dimmest of recollections of that one.

It is not merely amusing that Cameron refers Warsi for investigation for allegedly pocketing a couple of thousand quid while protecting Hunt who tried so hard to shepherd the Murdoch BSkyB bid past the winning post, while pretending to referee the event.

Nor is the lesson just that a Muslim woman will always be expendable while a fully paid up member of the ruling class will be less so.

The truth is that to trip up an MP over a little cash does not threaten the system. To tackle the massive institutional corruption by which corporate interests control the British state is a different question altogether.

Hunt is of course not the only case not to be referred. Nor was the Adam Werritty debacle, where rather than the proper investigative procedures Cameron organised a tidy little stitch-up by Gus O’Donnell which omitted almost all the key facts and particularly did not say what the entire scheme was about – the promotion of the interests of Israel. The Murdoch Empite, the Israeli lobby, these are amongst the interests that actually run the exploited citizenry of this poor wracked old country. Every now and then glimpses of truth emerge.

But must not be pursued.

What a plonker. ‘After becoming Bank governor (2003), King explained that Bank of England policy was “similar to that of the Federal Reserve” under Alan Greenspan. Greenspan described his approach as “mitigat[ing] the fallout [from the bursting of a bubble] when it occurs”.’
    .
    Tainted by association too.

Adducing for certain and discerning the disastrous course these so called “money elite” were tacking for the duration of the last decade and almost knowing the outcome for the same duration of the last ten years, somehow has not left me any better off. I am in the same boat as anyone else; whom blissfully remained ignorant of the major fuck ups that these so called elite got up to in the lawlessness of the deregulation, and the big bang.
    ,
The sons of the bitches talk of inflation of 3.2 percent whilst power companies are increasing their billing y umpteen percent. Fact is the current inflation rates are in doubles digits, people can no longer buy food and are steadily turning to the food banks, and charities, the price of a loaf of bread rising fifty percent in price is in no way near 3.2 percent! However still Mervin and his kind are in talks to even print more money, to be shoved into the pockets of the bankers, whilst starving the low earners and average so called “middle class”.
    ,
Makes my blood boil to see these monkeys crapping the whole world with their greed and ignorance, now somehow the news of the rate fixing comes alight, where were the fucking SIS? Oh forgot they were busy chasing alkayda!!! What kind of a system is this that the government of the day can be defrauded out of billions of pounds and a “Paki” (no insult intended) picked up for swearing at Blair? This is the tax monies at work, the SIS at their best sleeping away and letting the government to print billions of pounds because the greedy money elite intended to hoist the lot for pittance and needed to erode the savings of the people to rip-off their assets for pennies in pounds.

RT Moscow reporting (on air) that Saudi troops are massing on Jordanian border with the threat they will cross into Jordan and then on to Syria at same times as Turkish troops mass on their Syrian border.

US Canada & Germany voted against (Christian countries??) along with Israel, while Christian Britain abstained. BBC radio used “controversial” a number of times when talking to Donnison onair, then attempts to include anonymous Christians as considering it controversial when they wrote up the piece. surely Christians would consider it controversial that the Church wasn’t on the World Heritage List already!

29 June: BBC: Bethlehem sites given Unesco World Heritage status
    Controversy
When the result of the secret ballot was announced, there were loud cheers and fist pumping from the Palestinian delegation, reports the BBC’s Jon Donnison in Ramallah…
Israel’s permanent delegate, Nimrod Barkan, said his country supported awarding World Heritage Site status to the Church of the Nativity under a completely different, non-emergency procedure that carried no implications for the stalled Middle East peace process.
“The decision taken now was totally political and does great damage in our opinion to the [UN] convention and its image,” he added.
Christian denominations were also opposed to the bid, fearing Unesco would start to meddle in the affairs of the Church of the Nativity…

Among the highlights will be a veterans march across Tower Bridge in central London and flypasts in several towns and cities.
    .
The event coincides with the arrival of the Olympic Torch at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
    .
The Arboretum, where planting began in 1997, is designed to provide a “living tribute to the wartime generations of the 20th Century”.

    Look up Gina Reinhart, the richest woman in the world. The word ‘digger’ must have been coined for her and her late father Lang Hancock. They are responsible for the excavation of millions of tons of Australian soil, some from stolen Aboriginal land. Her father advocated putting something in the water to make the Aboriginal ‘half castes’ sterile! {http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=z01oSDfd9Fw}

Top marks to the MoD war propaganda department! Armed Forces Day has hit the Centre Court at Wimbledon.
    .
Sue Barker and did a courtside roll call of famous sporting people attending, seated in the royal box. They all took a bow to general applause. Then we came to Gareth Malone the conductor of the Military Wives’ Choir. Their song was played in the background as a few more famous faces were introduced. He grinned and sat down. Finally she paid a tribute to the armed forces who attend Wimbledon as stewards (why?). Several forces members in uniform stood as did the whole crowd who gave them a standing ovation having been told by Barker that ‘we should thank all those who do their job for the country in very difficult circumstances’. ie occupy a foreign country and kill the people. Militarism was glorified yet again.

I hate that drum’s discordant sound
Parading round, and round, and round:
To me it talks of ravaged plains,
And burning towns, and ruined swains,
And mangled limbs, and dying groans,
    And windows’ tears, and orphans’ moans;
And all that Misery’s hand bestows,
To fill the catalogue of human woes

Please feel free to share the article below on Twitter and other social media networks or indeed any places you think might be indicated. The key message is:
    .
Contact your local MP and ask them to support Early Day Motion 128 on the Extradition Act 2003. Tell them that they risk losing your vote and the votes of all your contacts if they do not support the motion.
    .
If anyone has Establishment contacts, now is the time to leverage those contacts.
    .
Here is an article which will appear in a Glasgow-based newspaper, ‘Shab-o-Rose/Glasgow International’ soon – because time is short – 3 weeks to deportation – I’ve put it out widely elsewhere too. It’s long for a post – I hope Craig would understand and be supportive. Feel free to do the same. This is an abhorrence. Thanks.
    .
    Beginning of article:
    .
‘Welcome to Hell: The Case of Talha Ahsan’, by Suhayl Saadi
    .

Imagine spending 23 hours a day, every day for 50 years in a concrete box with only a TV monitor for company, 5,000 miles from anyone you know. That is the fate awaiting British citizens, Talha Ahsan, Babar Ahmad, Gary McKinnon and Richard O’Dwyer if they are extradited to the USA, to a federal ‘supermax’ penitentiary, ADX Florence, in Ahsan’s case, in just three weeks’ time.
    .

Published poet, SOAS graduate and Asperger’s Syndrome sufferer, Talha Ahsan has been in prison without charge or trial for six years and Babar Ahmad similarly, for eight years – equivalent to the jail-time served by rapists and murderers and in Ahmad’s case, longer than any other British citizen in modern history. Ahmad was gratuitously assaulted – an assault described by the High Court as, “grave abuse, tantamount to torture” – by Metropolitan Police Officers (all of whom subsequently were acquitted!). Yet shamefully, despite vigorous campaigns run by their families and supporters, Ahsan and Ahmad have received equivocal civil societal response, while McKinnon and O’Dwyer, granted bail, have had massively sympathetic media coverage and highly visible support from rock stars, celebs and mainstream human rights organisations. Even within this rubric of injustice, it seems, divide-and-rule means one law for whites, another for blacks.
    .

In 2003, the supine Blair Govt rushed the Extradition Act through Parliament. This allows the USA to have anyone – you, me, anyone – extradited from the UK to the USA at will (yet there is no reciprocal arrangement) with no requirement whatsoever for prima facie evidence. We will not be questioned by US or UK police, our lawyers will not be allowed to see the evidence and we will simply be imprisoned and extradited. This is extradition? No, this is legalised kidnap! France and Ireland do not allow this to happen to their citizens. France and Ireland have governments with guts, or at least with independence.
    .

In Opposition, the members of the current, Con-Dem, Cabinet opposed the Extradition Act. But now that they are in government, it seems that they have left both their principles and their balls at the cell door.
    .

The Crown Prosecution Service decided years ago that there was no case to be brought against Ahsan and US authorities have provided no new evidence – so why on earth is he still in jail? It beggars belief that this is happening here, in the UK, in 2012. But the real scandal is that people are not screaming, or banging on the doors of Westminster, about it. Do we not give a damn?
    .

In 2006, the U.N. Committee Against Torture expressed concern about “prolonged isolation periods” and “the extremely harsh regime” in US Supermax prisons. Even the former warden of ADX Florence described the prison as a “clean version of hell”. Yet, staggeringly, the deeply compromised and now demonstrably neutered European Court of Human Rights, in rejecting Ahsan’s appeal against extradition, decided that everything in Hell is hunky-dory. Perhaps the members of the Court have spent time supping with the Devil.
    .
And human rights organisation, Liberty states that someone should not be extradited to another country for actions that are not criminal in the UK, that a basic case should be made to a British court before someone can be sent abroad to face trial in another country and that if a significant part of the conduct that led to the alleged crime took place in the UK, then a British court should be able to decide if it is in the interests of justice to extradite.
    .
These calls were reinforced by the cross-party Joint Committee on Human Rights and subsequent cross-party consensus after parliamentary debates in November and December 2011, as well as the Home Affairs Committee report on extradition in March 2012. The Human Rights Committee recommended that the Government “urgently” renegotiate the US-UK extradition treaty to exclude granting requests in cases where the UK prosecution authorities have already decided not to investigate the individual on the same evidence adduced by the US authorities.
    .
All Talha Ahsan is asking is that if he is accused of committing offences in Britain – allegedly, web-based militant activity (11-14 years ago, on defunct websites relating to Chechnya, Bosnia, etc.) – he be charged and tried in a British court. He has never visited the USA and denies all charges.
In a recent article published in The Guardian, novelist AL Kennedy wrote that in solitary confinement, Talha “will rehearse his death, the last of his absolute removal, until it becomes reality”.
    .
Meanwhile, ironically, right now across the ‘Greater Middle East’, the USA/UK continues to collaborate with the barbaric, fundamentalist regime of ‘Saudi’ Arabia and to fund, arm and train Jihadist terrorists to commit murder and assassination: Redux Afghanistan, 1980s.
    .
On 27th June, there was a screening of ‘Extradition’, a powerfully moving documentary directed by Turab Shah on Talha Ahsan’s predicament and featuring his prison poetry at the Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow organised by Scotland Against Criminalising Communities (SACC) and chaired by Jock Morris of the Glasgow Campaign to Welcome Refugees.
    .
As a helpful introduction, Richard Haley of SACC delivered a cogent, lucid and damning account of the events leading up to the current iniquity.
    .
At the Q and A afterwards, respected campaigning lawyer, Aamer Anwar eloquently depicted the inculcation of fear in the population and specifically cited the Police State London currently being constructed, ostensibly for the Olympics but arguably as an odious template for the future: “There will be more troops in London during these Olympics than there were during WW2”.
    .
Talha Ahsan’s courageous and tenacious brother, Hamja, an arts curator by profession but currently working 24/7 in pursuit of justice, was the key speaker on the panel. He emphasised that black and white, the families of these political prisoners are 100% united in their struggle and summed up the evening, thus: “Habeas Corpus, the right to a fair trial, the right to be regarded as innocent until proved guilty, Magna Carta and British national sovereignty – all of these have been thrown out the window… we now are living in the world of Franz Kafka’s ‘The Trial’”.
    .
Dear readers, it is five minutes to midnight and the window is wide open. If, in the face of evil, good people – you people – do nothing, then you may be next. And who will be there to save you?
    .
Time is short! There is an Early Day Motion 128, and cross-party support, in Westminster about the case. E-mail/write/’phone your MP NOW to demand they sign the Motion. Hold your elected representative to account on their support for Human Rights!
    .

And all left with loads of dosh, gained from their decades of criminalty, you can bet on that one!. All this is being manipulated by the powers that be, bringing it out into the open in order to blame the little players for the mess!!!, its them not us, nothing to do with us, will be the cry of the real culprits, shifting the blame time for when the fat hits the fire, which looks to be anytime soon, hence it all is coming out into the open at this time!!!. There will be more revelations to come, the mainstream media (as you can see) will be getting into gear to protect the real culprits, the political establisment/order, past and present!!!.
