CIA Plot Against Correa Funded by Drug Money 1271

Hillary Clinton is repeating the methodology of the Iran/Contra affair, using “black” funds to finance the operation to ensure President Correa is not re-elected.

I had two excellent sources for the news that the US/UK strategy against Julian Assange was to ensure the defeat of President Correa in Presidential elections next spring, and then have him expelled from the Ecuadorean Embassy. One source was within the UK civil service and one in Washington. Both had direct, personal access to the information I described. Both told me in the knowledge I would publish it.

Of course Assange is not the only reason Clinton wants rid of Correa; but it adds spice and urgency.

We now have completely independent evidence from Chile that this CIA operation exists, from journalists who were investigating a smuggling operation involving 300 kg per month of cocaine, organised by the Chilean army and security services.

The links to US intelligence emerged after an anonymous source from the Agencia Nacional de Inteligencia (ANI) told Panoramas News that the smuggling of 300 kilos of cocaine was in fact a highly sensitive CIA/DEA operation that would help to raise money to topple the government of Ecuador. The operation is similar to the one carried out by the Agency in Central America during the Iran-Contra scandal in the 1980’s, the source said.

A few days ago I published information I had received that Patricio Mery Bell, the director of the news programme which broke the story, had been lured to a meeting with a young lady “informant” who had worked with CIA-backed anti-Cuban groups in Miami. She had then accused him of sexual assault (does any of that scenario sound familiar?) He was arrested and his materials had been confiscated. However I took the article down after jst a few minutes because I had received the information in emails from sources I did not know previously, and was unsure it could stand up. It does now appear that this is indeed true.

My Washigton informant had told me, as I published, that the funds for the anti-Correa operation were not from the CIA budget but from secret funds controlled by the Pentagon. This could not be done by CIA funds because, perhaps surprisingly, for the CIA to operate in this way is a crime in the United States.

Whether my informant knew or suspected that the “secret Pentagon funds” were drug money I do not know. They did not mention narcotics.

    Clark, think you should take a tenner from the magic money tree 🙂

    A poster called “Simple, so very !” was posting from the same IP as “English Knight”, who Craig banned for homophobic and anti-Jewish comments. I’ve deleted one item from him/her just now.

    “Or, failing clear expression….please give the comment the benefit of the doubt, instead of attacking it…..JMO”

    Seconded. Heartily.

    Or, if a comment seems to imply something, ask direct, unambiguous, non-rhetorical question(s) to clarify the contributor’s real meaning. I’m convinced that most of the escalation that occurs here is based upon hasty judgement and misunderstanding.

    I know it is difficult and demanding. When things as emotive as the present slaughter in Gaza are in progress, feelings run high and anger tends to escalate. But that direction makes things worse. The worse things are and the worse we feel, the harder we have to try.

    Clark,

    I’ll see your tenner and raise you a £20…LOL

    I’d love to meet many of you.I’m a great believer in face-to-face and alcohol as a socio-political balm.

    What region are you Clark?

    I’m Glasgow but would be happy to travel a fair distance to meet some of this blogs characters and scoundrels…:.)

    To be fair Clark – nobody here was denying the Jewish holocaust but rather discussing various historical evidence, which i agree with Jon, should be open to sensible discussion, but here and now is not really the time and place considering all thats going on in the middle east in general. I think he’s got it pretty bang on when he says…

    “It’s fair to say that the memory of that dreadful event is abused, and many a Western politician is bounced into supporting Israel for the guilt that the genocide went on for so long”

    Your ‘denial’ shtick is a limp shot, as is the call for for ‘implicit registration’ – that rather sounds like the ‘it’s for your own safety’ mantra increasingly used to control every aspect of free speech. I think it would be much better to have a rule of thumb where all discussion of holocausts/sensitive subjects, if neccessary, could be discussed and debated but using calm reason, referrable evidence and sound sources only. A big ask maybe but not impossible

  • Heretic

    Hang ‘Em High – I’ve deleted eight items from you about the Holocaust. As I say, in theory it should be possible to subject this to very careful scientific treatment, but here it achieves nothing except perhaps linking our (generally) pro-peace and pro-talks views with genuinely unpleasant racism.

    I presume you mean the unpleasant and totally unfounded accusations of racism and holocaust denial leveled at me. Can you show me one single item of either in any comments that you deleted?

    All you have managed to do is prove to myself, and hopefully other people, that you don’t mind carrying the water for the Zionist cause because you believe your misplaced accommodation for the sensitivities of Jews and their *provably* false history is more ‘admirable’ than repudiating the lies of Zionism.

    Komodo:

    It was common to see Jewish and non Jewish kids dating. I never met a family of any religion or ethnicity that were encouraging their kids to get married in high school. In some of the more conservative Jewish families there was a pressure to date Jews, but in my experience it was the Vietnamese and Indian kids that were the least likely to date some one outside of their own ethnicity. I don’t think that indicates racism, it’s just minority cultures trying to preserve themselves.

    Re: Shiksa

    Does nigger imply all English speakers are racist? Is there a single language in existence that doesn’t have racist words in it?

    N_:

    I have been to London, and I swore never again. Mega cities are like hell for me, I much preferred it up north, where a lot of my family live. Its a shame you don’t watch any US tv, The Wire and Treme are in my opinion the greatest works of art to have been made for the screen. As for my Israeli friends, well I got friends from all over the globe, its one of the advantages of living in an area with lots of tourists.

    Chris Jones:

    Steady on mate, I don’t think you appreciate how difficult it is to run a controversial forum with no registration.

    Thanks Jon and Clark. A necessary cleansing. The same sort of thing used to take place on Dissident Voice. The swamping of discussion and the disruption became so bad that in the end, the editors closed down all comments which was a shame.

    All may remember this name. Mads Gilbert, the Norwegian surgeon who worked alongside the doctors during Cast Lead and who had a previous association with Gaza. I went to hear him speak in London in 2009 following Cast Lead. He is a dynamic person and a compelling speaker. He described some of the terrible injuries that were dealt with and gave details of new weaponry that had been used by Israel containing metal fragments that penetrated down to the bone. Some of the photographs were almost unwatchable.

    This is a very good interview he gave when he was in the US this year. Quite long and descriptive and he also gives his political overview. A wise and a very good human being.

    PS The Zionist Federation crowd got in and tried to disrupt his London talk that I attended.

    I have been looking at a few of Harry Fear’s videos. There are 55 in all going back for a few years and including his latest where he reads out the names of the 108 dead in this latest slaughter. His output is truly amazing and includes topics other than Israel’s attacks on Gaza. A very unusual and talented young man.

  • Debbie(Aussie)

    I just wanted to say thanks for this site. Am feeling totally angry and useless about this latest abomination and is good to read people’s thoughts and links here. Again, thanks

  • Komodo

    Cheeba-
    I am happy to agree to differ on the issue, if you are. I agree about London, though. I got out decades ago, and have never been back. Perhaps that accounts for our different takes: London is essentially a complex of urban villages, and if you don’t fit in the village, London is not a nice place. Where I lived, the village was Ashkenazi Jewish (the rabbi next door was Sephardic, and didn’t fit in either)

    Anyway, enjoy the Reverend Blair opining that the Palestinian problem is not an easy one. Well, bugger me with a banana and call me Bruce Forsyth.

    Komodo, I share your anger about current events, but you’ve been here long enough to know that Technicolour has never been a propagandist for Israel. Tech’s views about the difference between ordinary Israelis and their rapacious elite are much the same as a point I made to one or two posters earlier this year: there are many Israelis, within the Jewish faith and without, who are actively opposed to the occupation. IDF watch groups, human rights groups, refuseniks, objectors, socialists – probably a fair bit of their Occupy movements – and they are all despised by the masses a great deal more than anti-war protestors in the UK.

    I reserve my opinion on Technicolour, Jon. I am extremely well aware of the points you make. I would just like to flag up the known hasbara technique of moving the debate in delicately adjusted stages from a reasonably pro-Palestinian position, to its opposite, and taking less alert readers along the same route.

    I can quite understand Technicolour’s opinion of my suggestion that Israel is locked into in Judaism, and that my low opinion of Israel would be more effectively expressed to Jewish people at large – to some extent I share it. But I think he was pushing for concessions beyond that. And we have some history here too, which I cannot ignore, or the possible reasons for it.

    The Rev Bliar was on the world service in the night giving forth on the need to eradicate poverty in South Africa. Some conference coming. No doubt his Africa Governance Initiative will be picking up some more shekels for his personal benefit.

    Anyway all hope for Gaza is not lost. Shillary will be riding in fresh from her visit to Burma with Obama. She is visiting Jerusalem, Ramallah and Cairo today. Is she going to go out with a bang? Let’s hope so.

    Vile woman, She was hugging and kissing Aung San Suu Kyi yesterday and then held hands with her like a little girl. Aung San extricated herself from the iron grip I noticed. Then I saw Clinton walking through the Buddhist temple bare footed. Aung San then later suffered the indignity of being hugged and kissed on both cheeks by Obomber as he bid farewell.

    Obomber has a security posse of 1,000. Says it all.

    Komodo at 8.32 am. I’ve just watched the Tony Blair, Peace Envoy to the Middle East. He was asked what he had achieved in his term as Peace Envoy and had to admit nothing. Instead he went blabbing on about Ireland. Two things were pertinent. First in the interview with Al Jazeera Blair was in Tel Aviv (which I think demonstrated his allegiance to Israel). Secondly, why are comments on the video disabled?

  • Jon

    Debbie (Aussie), welcome. Yes, it’s difficult to know what to do. For the time being, donate to emergency charities on the ground, such as MAP. I’d consider a donation to B’TSelem too, the Israeli human rights organisation – does anyone have any experience of them?

  • Mary

    In case anyone thinks that Bliar is about to visit Gaza, that Metro link is from July 2008, five months before Cast
    Lead.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1035285/Blair-scraps-Gaza-visit-Israel-warns-assassination-plans-Palestinians.html

    Btw isn’t he looking and sounding ropey? 🙂

    ~~~
    Welcome too Debbie. Recommend Australians for Palestine website in case you have not seen it. Sonia Karkar, a good woman, is behind it and many campaigns and events are given publicity by her.
  • Komodo
    Yes, sorry, Mary. The date wasn’t visible on the page and I assumed it was recent. Anyway, he took the hint. Yesterday he was snapped shaking hands with Peres* and sitting a long way away from Abbas, but I think he must have got the message about visiting Gaza!
    *even Peres looked embarrassed
  • N_
    Blair got booted out of his position with the Quartet, because even Fatah had to recognise publicly that he’s owned by the Israelis, or ‘Israel’s lawyer’ or whatever the circumlocution is.
    (You gotta wonder what the high-ups at the Vatican think of the creep.)
    Never forget that Blair’s personal family money is run by Berwin Leighton Paisner – the big Zionist law firm which as well as making donations to ‘Jewish charities’ also specialises in representing the gambling industry. You wonder how much clearer it can get that this war criminal is a crook in the pocket of the Israelis.
  • Arbed
    O/T current topic (but related to Craig’s original post)
    Anyone want to sign the petition against the misguided and ill-informed campaign to ban Julian Assange’s appearance at the Cambridge Union?
    http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/for-cambridge-university-cusu-women-s-campaign-to-let-julian-assange-speak-and-not-revoke-his-invitation#share
    It’s appalling that the people behind this attempt to silence Julian Assange are referring to him as a “confessed rapist” when he has vehemently denied these allegations over and over again.
  • nevermind
    please Jon, if you can be bothered, feel free to remove my bark earlier on, it does not make sense anymore and I MOST DEFINITELY DID NOT DIRECT IT AT ANYONE BUY HANG ‘EM, sorry to got up the tree about his constant banging on as if its shoah.
    The denial of server attacks on some 700 companies in Israel, most of them defence related, amounts to 44 million as far and it must have taken them back somewhat, why else would they comment if it has not achieved something.
    http://www.aljazeera.com/news/middleeast/2012/11/2012111973111746137.html
    The Time line facts from Rabbi Waskow and that of Quassam count are collaborating evidence enough that Israel has provoked and goaded Hamas, any conditions for the cease fire should either represent this or be undertaken by both sides simultaneously,i.e. a stop of air attacks for a stop of missiles from Gaza, an end to incursions by Israel, for a long term enforced cease fire.
    Israel has to face up to the situation that it can not deny Gaza a port of its own, that Gaza has a right to the resources that lie beneath its ground and off the coast and once recognised as a state by the UN, as the Balfour declaration and Oslo accord determine.
    Rafah should be opened permanently and those dangerous unsafe tunnels Israel is paranoid about would not need to operate and bury Palestinians frequently.
    If Israel wants peace, they should have connected with Al Jabbari, not shoot him, so good intentions will most likely come for the next Government, not the current incumbents who seem quiet mad.
    let me know when and were you have your meeting please Clark, if its anywhere reachable and I’m up for it, I shall make an effort, I also like to meet offline, not just to meet those I conversed with, but to talk of stuff we could not possibly talk on here about.
