CIA Plot Against Correa Funded by Drug Money 1271

Hillary Clinton is repeating the methodology of the Iran/Contra affair, using “black” funds to finance the operation to ensure President Correa is not re-elected.

I had two excellent sources for the news that the US/UK strategy against Julian Assange was to ensure the defeat of President Correa in Presidential elections next spring, and then have him expelled from the Ecuadorean Embassy. One source was within the UK civil service and one in Washington. Both had direct, personal access to the information I described. Both told me in the knowledge I would publish it.

Of course Assange is not the only reason Clinton wants rid of Correa; but it adds spice and urgency.

We now have completely independent evidence from Chile that this CIA operation exists, from journalists who were investigating a smuggling operation involving 300 kg per month of cocaine, organised by the Chilean army and security services.

The links to US intelligence emerged after an anonymous source from the Agencia Nacional de Inteligencia (ANI) told Panoramas News that the smuggling of 300 kilos of cocaine was in fact a highly sensitive CIA/DEA operation that would help to raise money to topple the government of Ecuador. The operation is similar to the one carried out by the Agency in Central America during the Iran-Contra scandal in the 1980’s, the source said.

A few days ago I published information I had received that Patricio Mery Bell, the director of the news programme which broke the story, had been lured to a meeting with a young lady “informant” who had worked with CIA-backed anti-Cuban groups in Miami. She had then accused him of sexual assault (does any of that scenario sound familiar?) He was arrested and his materials had been confiscated. However I took the article down after jst a few minutes because I had received the information in emails from sources I did not know previously, and was unsure it could stand up. It does now appear that this is indeed true.

My Washigton informant had told me, as I published, that the funds for the anti-Correa operation were not from the CIA budget but from secret funds controlled by the Pentagon. This could not be done by CIA funds because, perhaps surprisingly, for the CIA to operate in this way is a crime in the United States.

Whether my informant knew or suspected that the “secret Pentagon funds” were drug money I do not know. They did not mention narcotics.

Menorahs. perhaps, Nevermind. Sorry, though I have a seat on the bike, I’m not insured for pillion passengers…

Interesting take on what’s going on:

If Syria does fall, therefore, we can expect to see far more Israeli massacres of the type now currently under way. Not only will Syria be knocked out of the ‘resistance axis’ altogether, and Hezbollah left without a supply line from Iran, but Iran itself will be left isolated and less able to provide the Gazans with the missiles that currently provide their only effective deterrent to a renewed Israeli occupation.

Just found this, sorry for the delay…

(Dreoilin) Were you joking, Komodo? Lack of empathy is generally ascribed to psychopaths. N’est ce pas?

Ouais, c’est vrai. And I am somewhere on the spectrum between Asperger’s and Hannibal Lecter. I leave you to decide where….but I’ve never fired a flechette round or a white phosphorus shell in an overcrowded city. I still have my pride.

    Komodo, 20 Nov, 8:51 am,

I’m sorry that you’ve again come under fire from Technicolour. However, I think you’ve misidentified Tech’s motives. Remember the horrible argument about racism on the Olympics thread? It had nothing to do with Israel, but Tech did exactly the same thing there; picking up on minor points and using them to escalate the argument, by deploying innuendo, provocation, and guilt by association.

On that thread, Tech took the position that any contributor merely questioning the immigration rate was revealing an underlying tendency towards racism. Tech’s “thing” is racism in general, not Israel in particular.

I also think you’re wrong about this:

“I would just like to flag up the known hasbara technique of moving the debate in delicately adjusted stages from a reasonably pro-Palestinian position, to its opposite, and taking less alert readers along the same route.”

Hasbara don’t start their comments with “I’m part of the Hasbara project”, but this blog certainly had a big influx of pro-Israel advocates on the threads concerning the massacre on the Mavi Marmarma, and they did not employ the subtle approach that you describe; quite the opposite.

Harry Fear has been offered a job with RT Moscow. He is asking for feedback on FB or twitter as to whether he should accept.

Jives at 20 Nov, 2:08 am,

I’m about 25 miles north-east of London. There seem to be quite a few contributors in and around Glasgow, and another group in Norfolk. I think that face-to-face meet-ups would be very helpful in many ways. Probably, a good approach would be to schedule local gatherings, something like “second Friday of each month at [insert name of venue here]”. Then we could arrange inter-group meetings, which would be much easier with some pre-arranged fixed times to work with.

I had hoped that a blog get-together would occur at the Doune the Rabbit Hole festival, but it turned out to be just Craig and myself in attendance.

  • clark

Phil at 19 Nov, 10:36 pm: on reflection, I think both would be best. You choose a pre-demo meet-up venue for Saturday morning. You can e-mail me as well, of course.

  • Komodo

“….they did not employ the subtle approach that you describe; quite the opposite.” (Clark)

Nevertheless, it is a recognised technique, and if I were pro-Zionism, and thought the direct approach were failing, (and internationally, it seems to be) I’d give it a try. Flagging it, that’s all.

Thank you for your accurate summary of the earlier argument. I am tempted to say (but no, but yes, but no, but…) that he only sees things in black and white?

  • Mary

Clark I can remember an attack on me from someone called ‘Stephen’ who was a Hasbara merchant/sayanim/troll whatever. I believe that Craig had previously called him out as such.

I had in all innocence put up a link about Suzanne Nossel going straight from the US State Dept to head Amnesty US. The link apparently came from an author who was a holocaust denier and I was immediately labelled as one too. It was quite nasty at the time when others piled in on the attack.

Speaking of the US State Dept, this is Clinton’s mouthpiece getting a hard time from an AP reporter whose name is Matthew Lee. This was after the US had announced it would not pay its dues to UNESCO. What a madam!

    URGENT message from HARRY FEAR
Posted by Daniel on November 20, 2012, 10:41 am

URGENT: Russia Today (English language international terrestrial news channel) with a viewership of 2 million has asked me to act as a Gazan correspondent as the Gaza onslaught continues. Their viewership is 1000x more than my live feed. They will not change my content, although my style would fit their channel. If I don’t take the role someone else will; I am a very strong voice for the Palestinian narrative. I need urgent feedback from conscientious thinkers on whether I should take this temporary reporting role on RT. If I take it, the live stream will almost certainly not continue.

The thread is open for all to comment on and assist him in making a decision he probably has to make quickly.

I’m sure people here can add substance to his consideration and the relative pro’s and cons.

re Mary at 1.09 pm, the US State Dept press conference :

excellent link, thank you! To be noted that the State Dept’s spokeswoman – Victoria Nuland – was formerly US Perm Rep to Nato in Brussels, she is Jewish and the wife of arch noe-con and “historian” Robert Kagan (who is also Jewish).

One of Victoria’s predecessors as State Dept spokesperson – Ari Fleischer – would be proud of her. He, by the way, is also Jewish.

Harry has done a massive job and the increase in viewers/listeners he would reach via RT is inexorably larger than anything before.

The job is temporary and he will have editorial control over what is said. I for one have given him my support, I like the way he consults his viewers on what he does and the increase in listeners. He says profits will go back to Gaza and being the silly old fool I am, I believe this young man.

  • Phil

    @Mary

I don’t have fb account so can’t join in with Harry Fear conversation. I would say don’t do it. RT will report anyway. RT will to some degree shape his output. And not engaging with propagandist is a powerful statement that trumps all.

What are media lens saying? I can’t see it. Can you link to it please.

  • Phil

@Clark & anyone else who wants to meet us on saturday

I go past westminster most mornings. I’ll identify a specific location near the tube and post it tomorrow.

  • Phil

Well the media lens comments seem to favour Harry joining rt. I stand by my immediate reaction with the additional reason that he must avoid being sucked into the propaganda machine. For example, RT will be the end of any consulting his viewers. I keenly await his decision. Any updates for us non-fb users appreciated.

‘The Gaza crisis shows that those among the Syrian opposition who have put their faith in the Western powers are now allied to the forces intent on murdering Gazans and sustaining Israel.’

    Thank you Mary.

That was the reason why I objected to the alliance in the first place. The Chaliphate was lost because political Muslims wanted to use Western power against an unpopular Chaliphate and they trusted the West to deliver a change, assuming that they would keep their word.

Stupid, stupid, stupid, political Islam, they never learn.

He did. As far as I can see he hasn’t been back since.

    Komodo, 20 Nov 2.15pm

Susy Langsdale, CUSU Women’s Officer should hang her head in shame for her comments in the article you link to, and for this ridiculous campaign to silence an uncharged man. She has already been given much in the way of facts about the Swedish investigation in feedback from Cambridge students – just in case her campaign was based on genuine ignorance about them. It seems she hasn’t bothered to educate herself and has simply decided that nowadays if anyone has a sexual allegation made against them they no longer have the right to be heard or the right to defend themselves. Presumption of innocence? Pah! Who needs that?

Extremely well-researched and informative book, available for download for less than $3. Best conpendium of facts about the Swedish investigation to date:

Phil’s argument is good, but with RT’s backing as an accredited journalist he might be slightly less likely to be a target – the international comeback would be harder for the IDF to shrug off should an intelligent weapon inexplicably have a nervous breakdown in his vicinity. I’ve no FB or Twitter a/c, though, so it’s up to his social-media readers

  • Komodo

Anon, thank you for that. And for the waves of nausea that follow. Think the timing was intentional?

“A big thank you to all our lovely friends from the home country, and may I remind you that after lunch you can watch a live relay of your invulnerable US-funded armed forces heroically knocking Gaza down?”
