CIA Plot Against Correa Funded by Drug Money 1271

Hillary Clinton is repeating the methodology of the Iran/Contra affair, using “black” funds to finance the operation to ensure President Correa is not re-elected.

I had two excellent sources for the news that the US/UK strategy against Julian Assange was to ensure the defeat of President Correa in Presidential elections next spring, and then have him expelled from the Ecuadorean Embassy. One source was within the UK civil service and one in Washington. Both had direct, personal access to the information I described. Both told me in the knowledge I would publish it.

Of course Assange is not the only reason Clinton wants rid of Correa; but it adds spice and urgency.

We now have completely independent evidence from Chile that this CIA operation exists, from journalists who were investigating a smuggling operation involving 300 kg per month of cocaine, organised by the Chilean army and security services.

The links to US intelligence emerged after an anonymous source from the Agencia Nacional de Inteligencia (ANI) told Panoramas News that the smuggling of 300 kilos of cocaine was in fact a highly sensitive CIA/DEA operation that would help to raise money to topple the government of Ecuador. The operation is similar to the one carried out by the Agency in Central America during the Iran-Contra scandal in the 1980’s, the source said.

A few days ago I published information I had received that Patricio Mery Bell, the director of the news programme which broke the story, had been lured to a meeting with a young lady “informant” who had worked with CIA-backed anti-Cuban groups in Miami. She had then accused him of sexual assault (does any of that scenario sound familiar?) He was arrested and his materials had been confiscated. However I took the article down after jst a few minutes because I had received the information in emails from sources I did not know previously, and was unsure it could stand up. It does now appear that this is indeed true.

My Washigton informant had told me, as I published, that the funds for the anti-Correa operation were not from the CIA budget but from secret funds controlled by the Pentagon. This could not be done by CIA funds because, perhaps surprisingly, for the CIA to operate in this way is a crime in the United States.

Whether my informant knew or suspected that the “secret Pentagon funds” were drug money I do not know. They did not mention narcotics.

    Mursi is saying that the Israeli attacks will cease today. Hasn’t the US just given $2bn to Egypt.

    Egyptian President Mohammed Mursi says he expects Israeli air strikes in Gaza to end later on Tuesday.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-20413625#

    Egypt has been trying to broker a truce in the conflict. The statement came after Israel put plans for a ground operation on hold to give ceasefire talks in Cairo a chance.

    The conflict began last Wednesday when Israel killed a Hamas military leader, saying it wanted to end rocket attacks.

    More than 110 Palestinians and three Israelis have been killed.

    Tuesday has seen a reduced level of violence, correspondents say, even though Israel has conducted some strikes – one was a “direct hit” on two militants in northern Gaza, the Israeli military said.

    It also said about 90 rockets had been fired from Gaza toward Israel, and that more than 50 had been intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome missile defence system. Five soldiers were wounded in one rocket attack, the military said, without specifying the location.

    “Susy Langsdale, CUSU Women’s Officer should hang her head in shame for her comments in the article you link to, and for this ridiculous campaign to silence an uncharged man. She has already been given much in the way of facts about the Swedish investigation in feedback from Cambridge students – just in case her campaign was based on genuine ignorance about them. It seems she hasn’t bothered to educate herself and has simply decided that nowadays if anyone has a sexual allegation made against them they no longer have the right to be heard or the right to defend themselves. Presumption of innocence? Pah! Who needs that?”

    This is Susy’s “manifesto”:

    God help us.

    I think that one of the major problems with these identity groups is that they’re incapable of looking to the bigger picture. Their only useful utility is to those who benefit from divide and rule.

    It’s almost as if they were designed to that purpose, and would explain why MSM is so full of them. By contrast, MSM isn’t very interested in the well-being of humanity as a whole, indeed more often antithetical to it.

    Hang em high or is it heretic – who stuffed the wasp up your arse? You are entitled to your views but ultimately the numbers mean nothing when it is historical fact that there was a Final Solution drawn up by the Nasties and they did try and carry it out, with ruthless German efficiency.
    One of my oldest friends is Jewish. His mother who is now 93 was smuggled out of Vienna in 1936 with her brother. Her mother, father, grand-parents, aunties, uncles and other family members were never seen again. They ended up in various camps and were killed. Over two years she managed to escape to Cyprus via Bulgaria and Istanbul where she boarded a rusty sinking freighter that took her to Ashdod. On the way she fell in love with a young Geordie Third Officer who came back to find her in Palestine after the war and brought her back to this country. My 12 year old daughter and I wept as we listened to her tell her story. You should look at the human side of this horror and feel compassion and pray that it never happens to you and yours.
    I am no apologist for the Zionists. I see what they are doing to the Palestinians in Gaza and I get angry. It is really no different than the Warsaw Ghetto only probably worse. I don’t understand how the Jews can do this to another people when it has been done to them in living memory. The sooner we connect with each others humanity, the sooner this shit will stop happening. Now be good and stop being an arsehole.

    Obama is sending the Big Dog, as some call him. He is a master schmoozer, but I am not confident he will move Bibi.

    Clinton is expected to first speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and the White House on Tuesday reiterated their support for Israel’s operation against Hamas in the Gaza strip.

    I think there is enough quality academic material “out there” covering this generally off-topic matter without allowing it to inveigle its way into Craig’s blog and exposing it to predictable accusations of anti-semitism. It would be interesting to discover the true identities of posters here who seem to deliberately mangle anti-Jewish comments with criticism of Israel – as if the mission is to discredit both criticism of Israel and Craig Murray for hosting some of it.

    OT…

    In a salacious 77-page complaint that reads like Penthouse Forum meets The Insider meets the Keystone Kops, one David Weber, the former chief investigator for the SEC Inspector General’s office, accuses the SEC of retaliating against Weber for coming forward as a whistleblower. According to this lawsuit, Weber was made a target of intramural intrigues at the agency (which has a history of such retaliation) after he came forward with concerns that his bosses may have been spending more time copulating than they were investigating the SEC.

    Mary says “Mursi is saying that the Israeli attack will cease today. Hasn’t the US just given $ 2 bn to Egypt”

    And I say to Mary : so what? You’d probably be the first to complain if the US withheld $2 bn worth of aid from Egypt.

  • Ben Franklin (head honcho CIA Office for Craig Murray Operations)

    Sounds familar…….”Unemployment was a major problem in the ghetto. Illegal workshops were created to manufacture goods to be sold illegally on the outside and raw goods were smuggled in, often by children. Hundreds of four to five year old Jewish children went across en masse to the “Aryan side,” sometimes several times a day, smuggling food into the ghettos, returning with goods that often weighed more than they did. Smuggling was often the only source of subsistence for Ghetto inhabitants, who would otherwise have died of starvation.”

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsaw_Ghetto

    Then there’s this…..http://www.jpost.com/Headlines/Article.aspx?id=292716

    Evacuate? Where?

  • N_

    @Banksie – Yes the Warsaw ghetto is a good comparison. I admire the resistance fighters in the Warsaw ghetto who fought like lions against the Nazis when their backs were against the wall, just as I admire the resistance fighters, both inside and outside Hamas, in Gaza.

    Zionists have tried to revise the history of the Warsaw ghetto uprising to pretend that they played a big role in it. Most of the bastards were against it.

    The Zionists’ mouths should burn when they dare to claim the Warsaw ghetto resisters as their forebears.

    Have you seen the resistance posters from the Warsaw ghetto? I thought there were more on the web. Only one I could find just now is here. Scroll down – the ZOB one: “all people are equal brothers”. The only flag the ZOB unfurled during the uprising was the red one, inside a bunker, while singing the Internationale.

    More generally, the mouths of the Zionists should burn when they dare to refer to the fight against Nazism the way the hypocritical psycho racist bastards do. They are the Nazis now. If you ever hear a Zionist or defender of Zionism try to justify the existence of the Zionazi state ‘Israel’ on grounds having to do with the mass murder of Jewish people by the Nazis, stick your fingers in your ears and go ‘Laaaaaaa’. They have no right whatsoever.

    Everyone should look at that poster from Warsaw. It expresses the same spirit that is being shown by the Gaza resistance, and was shown by the Mavi Marmara martyrs too.

    Israel’s ‘mercy’ and blaming the victims

    Another two children are among the 15 murdered in Gaza (so far) today.

    As traumatised Gazans pick through the rubble of more flattened homes, ITN’s John Irvine has ‘reassuring’ words for them.

    Israel’s Iron Dome interceptor system is, apparently, “helping to save Palestinian lives”, as, without it, and particularly if a Hamas rocket had hit Tel Aviv, ground forces would already have entered Gaza. Irvine’s emphatic conclusion: Iron Dome is “more peacemaker than weapon” (ITN Early Evening News, 19 Nov).

    Not a word, of course, from Irvine about the perpetual war on Gaza or the inhuman blockade that forces Palestinians to respond with their paltry ordnance, thus providing the ‘need’ for Iron Dome – much to the multi-million dollar approval of the US arms companies delivering it.

    Such is the quality of what passes for ‘journalistic analysis’. Never let a lack of basic context get in the way of hasbara-friendly news.

    The loaded images of Israel’s ‘defensive’ arsenal are as important as the loaded words of media
    correspondents. Thus, reporting from Ashkelon, the BBC’s Ben Brown stands, foreground, clad in blue flak-jacket, the Dome missile batteries prominently behind. The picture’s intended message needs little further intimation.

    The range of journalistic enquiry into the main aggressor and massive imbalance of forces is as feeble as the rockets supposedly threatening Tel Aviv.

    My point about Mursi was that, like Mubarak, he is just as much a stooge of the West and the US, but probably not as corrupt for personal gain. To date, he was still keeping the people of Gaza trapped behind the Rafah gate and maintaining the difficulty for visitors wishing to enter Gaza hence the continued use of the tunnels for importing necessities.

    The EU is giving 6.4 bn Euros too. How much of that will feed down to the average poverty stricken Egyptian? Much will probably be spent on weaponry as half of the US aid is spent and propping up the IMF stranglehold.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-20322407

  • Habbabkuk

    Point well taken, Mary. But – what do you want the man to DO? As you say, the country is poverty-stricken and even half of US and EU aid is essential for it. When all is said and done, his first duty is towards his own country – do you really expect him to do what you (and I, believe me) would like him to do and forgo those billions? It’s called reality (unfortunately), he doesn’t have much of a negotiating hand.

  • N_

    John Irvine is ridiculous. Back in the 1980s, every self-respecting CND-er knew that being able to defend yourself against retaliation meant you had a first-strike capability. That’s why there was an ABM treaty. Iron Dome a ‘peacemaker’ indeed!!

    I suppose if the KGB or GRU had had as big an influence at the BBC as the Zionists now do, different concepts would have been used, though.

  • Cryptonym

    With hands shaking the courts and justice system in Scotland a laughing stock once more.

    The media with all the attention span of a gnat, back on safe ground tell us once again that we’re all fitba’ daft, and serve up a backlog of leftover celebrity puff. The military wives sing their hearts out, and all settle down to Sunday night’s BBC1 TV ghost story escapism to find an ill-fitting totally superfluous holocaust sub-plot grafted on. Help.

    At least we know where the LibDems stand now. Leon Brittain’s EU boy Friday Clegg conspicuously vacant, Cable tied, all condemned by their silence to the pillory and gallows.

    Whether this cowardly attack on Gaza ceases, their plight is hardly lessened, relief from the Israeli’s genocidal plans is not in sight, it is an end but not the end, just postponement of overt activities by the Israeli which the world’s media have been unable to ignore and have strained themselves proper in mis-representing it wilfully.

    Very few should be called Gazans, mostly their homes are in Greater Palestine from which they were driven at gunpoint, herded like lions. Trapped in inhositable Gaza maliciously caged in sadistic conditions, mostly without power, sanitation and clean water to drink, intentionally kept on the edge of starvation, prone to disease and at the limits of human endurance, they are heroes and heroines inspiring us all.

    Looks like Bibi is a lock.

    “Netanyahu may lead Israel into its first ground offensive since the Gaza invasion in 2008 following the first air attacks on Jerusalem since the 1967 war. A poll published Nov. 19 in the Haaretz newspaper showed 84 percent of Israelis support the Gaza operation, though only 30 percent would support an invasion.

    “If elections were held now, Netanyahu would easily win,” Camil Fuchs, head of the Statistics and Operations Research Department at Tel Aviv University who conducted the Haaretz poll of 502 Israelis, said in a phone interview. “Historically however, the impact of these military operations on the electorate is not lasting.”

    Thanks Mary for that link at 9.32 pm. Bill Black’s interview makes you think. Greedy bankers again trying to cause a deliberate run on the banks obviously to help depose Correa who was out of the country. The CIA are probably behind that too. If I were Correa I would resign the banking executives without compensation and get some decent people in their places.

    The Catalonian people are voting this weekend and are likely to break away from Spain. Good. They have guts and are feisty.

    ~~~
    Also WTF is going on with these energy suppliers/stealers? If the CoOp can reduce prices why not B Gas and the other rogues?
    Cooperative Energy announce shock price cut as British Gas price rise bites
    The past week has seen a flurry of activity within the energy industry, with small supplier Cooperative Energy announcing a surprising 2% price cut on their electricity charges. This bucks the trend set by the major suppliers such as npower, EDF, ScottishPower and SSE, and comes hot on the heels of the recent British gas price rise coming into effect.
    Responding to the announcement by Cooperative, Mark Todd director of price comparison site energyhelpline commented, “Good news in the energy market has been hard to come by in recent months, but Co-op energy customers will be breathing a sigh of relief today as the company has issued a surprise announcement of a 2% drop in the price of electricity on their standard tariff, Pioneer making it the cheapest standard available at a yearly average of £1,157.
    This comes on the day that British Gas’ shock price rises, announced last month hit consumers, adding at least £77 extra to dual fuel customer’s bills and making British Gas the second most expensive standard tariff, just behind SSE. Another new small supplier Ovo is also offering a 1 year fixed rate tariff at the moment at a price lower than Big Six Standard prices.
    Not only is Co-op bucking the trend by lowering prices, but the company recently came out with strong statements stating that it is different to the other companies as they do not need to report to shareholders,” Mr Todd concluded.
    Mary says “The Catalonian people are voting this weekend and are likely to break away from Spain. Good.”
    Why is that good?
    PS – you make it sound as if breaking away is something the Catalonians can just DO. A vast over-simplification, I’m afraid.
