“Remember how certain commenters on this blog made utter fools of themselves by suggesting how President Chavez was somehow “given” a specially-developed cancer virus to polish him off? Funnily enough, all quiet on that one now all of a sudden.”

I don’t remember anyone making such a suggestion – only passing on quotes from news outlets that carried the story. Can you supply the names, times and threads so I can check out your assertion?

Certain known substances, not just radioactive ones are so carcinogenic they have a high probability of causing cancer if exposed to tiny amounts. One of the tactical advantages of employing such means for assassination would be the futility of suspicion over it. But those suspicions are perfectly valid about Chavezs death.

Nevermind what is up with you? Heteropuffery for the artificial alligator, you big butch dino :p

That may be possible, but shielding and filtering should also be possible. Electric feilds themselves are extremely easy to detect and so rule out any interference. Paramedics dosimeters will be effectively faulty, if they are susceptible to false positives which reduce their urgency when they do go off.

I was not aware that I have made ‘frequent’ references to Hague’s sexuality if at all. Do I care what he gets up to? No. I do object to his hanging on to the coat tails of a Hollywood actress to obtain publicity for himself. She is yet another Mia Farrow. Yesterday the cause was Darfur. Today it seems it is rape in Central Africa. If she could stop Hague’s warmongering that would be a good start.

Another unfortunate with a mixed up childhood and flawed relationships.

Cathy Newman of Ch4 is embedded on the trip. Another great waste of fossil fuel by all concerned.

‘In this model, blurring politics with culture through celebrity communion would still come with the whiff of absurdity, though it might at least have a semblance of substance. Take Brown’s most recent showbiz plaudit, from Angelina Jolie, whose engagement with the Chancellor – as she waited to give birth in Namibia – involved the pair sharing a conference call, during which they discussed education in the developing world and the actress expressed the hope that Brown “does have the chance to do more good things” as prime minister.’

Brown’s encounter with Angelina Jolie was a neat contrast with Blair’s first star endorsement, when an apparently refreshed Noel Gallagher implored him….. http://www.newstatesman.com/node/153214

@Crab “Health review of Nuclear Plant Workers is suspiciously hard to come by. The health effect of working in a nuclear power station is a matter which has been estimated and waved away instead of simply keeping and collating adequate records.”

Crab you are right to be suspicious regarding radiation exposure.
Having worked on many nuclear experiments on accelerators there is no such thing as accidents as far as I`m concerned ,just mistakes.

When I first came across nuclear materials in my youth ,I don`t remember any health and safety like we have to day.I won`t say what I have seen but I think this says it all. When I was living in London in the 1970`s ,a stall holder at the Portobello Market shouted out to the local Portobello Market MP Sir Brandon Rhys-Williams.”Oi what about all this radiation then from
the Nuclear power stations and bomb tests? Rhys-Williams reply.”My man
the British people will become immune to radiation.”

Don’t play the ingénu, Dougie. People on this blog tend to pass on those stories in which they themselves believe or which they support, as you well know (you do it yourself).

“10.3% for the last 24hrs actually.
But sure wind generation is variable, as variable as fuel prices even.”

Down to 7% now, I wish fuel prices would drop like that.

  • Fred

“Health review of Nuclear Plant Workers is suspiciously hard to come by.”

Read ones for coal miners instead then.

  • crab

It goes down as much as up Fred, the price of fuel and your pleasant woodfire, that is going up and up and up sir. And its not wind or solars fault either.

Learn about clean renewable energy that can help the world beyond your haven by the Sea, instead of spreading fossil fueled gossip.

Strangely enough nearly all of the refugees from Syria do not share your view as to why they have been displaced – I suppose they have all been brainwashed. I suppose you will believ whatever you want to believe until you are prepared to look at the evidence without any prejudice.

    Mary

So you intend to boycott a store that you never shop in – talk about (empty) gesture politics. I’m sure that will make M&S change their ways. I also note how you now seem to be taking Guido Fawkes as a reliable source on Hague’s sleeping arrnagements – whatever relevance that may have to matters in hand. And lets not forget the nice little character assassination of Angelina Jolie. The only one who is keeping a log on your dialy activities btw is yourself – everytime you press the submit comment button the log appears as if by magic.

Anecdotally, I recall a friend who was an electrician at a nuke plant in New Jersey (circa 1976) having difficulty getting his wife pregnant…

“Any of your co-workers having that problem?” I inquired “Yes. Why do you ask?” was his reply. He was convinced the shielding from rads was sufficient. What do you say?

As I’ve mentioned before, a certain Zionist British spy of my previous acquaintance once said to me that Christianity was irrelevant, the religion immediately before Christ pbuh was far more interesting. What was the religion that moved the heart of this pillar of the UK establishment? The religion of the Alawis of Assad. Polytheism, paganism, mystical stoicism, Demeter worship, nature worship, Cabbal.

The British always felt comfortable in the muddle between Classical pagan licentiousness and Old Testament moral fury. Cameron and Hague would be ideally suited for the age of enlightenment where you could plaster your ceilings with flesh and simultaneously rattle the Churches cage with Quakerian threats of hypocrisy.

They like sticking two fingers straight up the nose of Islamic humanity and rationality, while gorging themselves with the Israelis on the excesses of Apartheid blood-lust. They are stoking a civil war in Syria where both parties are drunk with false-flagged rage and simultaneously having a love-in with London bearded Orthodox Jewry. Sheer neo-Enlightenment delight, dipped in Walpolian wigs and satire and garlanded with Popian wit and false patronage humility.

Above all, they are feasting on the amusement of taking the absolute pee out of Germany and France’s self-righteous glorification of the Euro while the banking mob prop them up.
This is a truly Hogarthian age in which the English political establishment are prancing with false respectability and masked balls, while the Muslim countries burn, one by one, like moths in the flame. Drunken Tory to drunken Lib-Dem: ‘Shall we send’ – gin fumes – ‘a few weapons’ – boob burst – ‘a few weapons’ – dog bark – ‘to the rebels’ – baby fall- ‘in Syria’ – vomit ‘?’

Now it is not the Church but the grey Orthodoxy of those bearded gatekeepers of Zionism that graces the revolting scene. It is as if the Muslim nation as a whole is just completely open=mouthed and gob=smacked that the Western world is so oblivious, unserious, un-caring, unimaginative and un-feeling about the pain of that underworld of suffering that is taking place under their noses – not in the UK slums but in thewar on terrorised Muslim countries.

And yet in that first callous age, in spite of the drunkenness, things changed for the better. Good men and women changed slavery and the slums, domestic servitude and wage-starvation, illiteracy and illegitimacy. This is a moment, while the Camerons and Hagues are swigging their millions, that good people here and in the Muslim world can bring about real change.

They, DesRes and the RI, are a double act. They act as arbiters on the responses given to each other’s interrogations. They cannot be known as Laurel and Hardy or Flanagan and Allen though as they do not create merriment or amusement.

Here is a new and well informed view on aspects of the life and death of Berezovsky. I did not know he was a fellow operator with Jeb Bush. Interesting involvement of Bell Pottinger. And Boris had been in Israel for medical treatment. Why Israel? Weren’t any of the numerous outposts of private medicine in London good enough for him. New info on the manner in which the death was discovered and reported. I hope he was not having one of those Israeli organ transplants we keep reading about!

‘You would have needed a Hogarth rather than neoclassical David to paint the dead body in a bathtub at a mansion, some 40km West of London found on the morning of Saturday 22nd March 2013. Zionist and Russian fugitive and business partner of the brother of President George W. Bush, Boris Berezovsky was once chairman of Russian TV. He came to see himself as a Russian revolutionary. But the man who was found dead at the age of 67 was no Jacobin journalist with a desire for liberty, equality and fraternity in the former Soviet Union.

The news first emerged on Facebook, where Berezovsky’s son-in-law, internet venture capitalist, Egor Schuppe posted a status update. Then, the journalist and former publisher Damian Kudryavtsev, a long-time friend, announced Berezovsky had died of a heart attack at eleven in the morning. An ambulance wasn’t called till after 3pm. Kudryavtsev dismissed claims of suicide and other anonymous sources said Berezovsky had recently been in Israel for coronary treatment – apparently he had suffered several heart attacks over the course of his final week.

And then Berezovsky’s spokesman Lord Tim Bell confirmed that Berezovsky’s body was found by a security guard. This is the Tim Bell of Bell Pottinger PR that has represented everything from Pinochet to Murdoch to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, the Tim Bell who in the manner of elite historiography is credited with being “instrumental” in securing the 1979 election of Margaret Thatcher in Britain. But it seems that Bell, who was tasked with transforming the image of Boris Yeltsin in the mid-1990s, could do little to aid Boris Berezovsky’s mission to destroy Vladimir Putin’s political career in Russia.’

    I don’t burn any fossils.

Let’s face it, those supporting wind power just want to carry on using the world’s natural resources at an alarming rate and contributing as much as ever to climate change.

It’s the coal oil and gas power stations going to be providing the electricity, the wind mills just churn out carbon credits so we can pretend we aren’t pumping out as much CO2 as we are.

The only sane answer to the energy problem is to reduce demand.

  • Habbabkuk (La vita è bella!)

    Compare and contrast.

Mary (above) says: “I do object to his {ie, William Hague } hanging on to the coat tails of a Hollywood actress to obtain publicity for himself.”

But Never-a-mind, the former LuftwAFFEe man says : “Ms Jolly (sic) is just there for the ride”.

Make your minds up, Eminences! who is hanging onto whose coat-tails?

  • Ben Franklin -Machine Gun Preacher (unleaded version)

Berezovskys’ death circumstances is subject to the fog of investigation and reportage. We won’t be privy to actual facts for some time; or not at all. Newtown massacre still has deniers primarily based upon the confusion which resulted from the initial reports, which are always hurried beyond the importance of substantiation, in favor of getting the scoop.
Being first has supplanted rationale with speedy misinformation.

  • Habbabkuk (La vita è bella!)

Mary’s long and tedious screed on Boris Berezovsky (above) appears to indicate nothing more than that Boris may not have killed himself but have suffered a heart attack .

I’m glad that Mary – ever sensitive to the way the wind’s blowing (FOR TRUTH AND JUSTICE!!) – appears to be distancing herself from the conspiracy theorists.

BTW, in the great tradition of supplying useless information (cf Mary):

the writer of the piece from Counterpunch which Mary was kind enough to bring to our attention is one Afshin Rattansi.

Mr Rattansi is closely associated with, and does a lot of work for the Iranian Press TV, while however living in London.

He is, it seems, also the CEO of the delightfully named “Alternative Reality Productions”.

The article about Berezovsky indicates that there is a great deal of doubt about the manner of his death. I never thought he killed himself or that he had had a heart attack nor do I think we ever hear the truth in such cases, viz Gareth Williams.

The RI likes to put words into people’s mouths. A twister and more pathetic by the day, now in his fourth month here. It feels longer. I am still waiting to hear about these earlier allegations about Hague’s sexuality.

Fred, “Let’s face it, those supporting wind power just want to carry on using the world’s natural resources at an alarming rate and contributing as much as ever to climate change.”

You’ve spun reality on its head as though it is hard to understand the principal of replacing fuel consumption with renewable supply acting in combination with the need to economise energy use as much as possible. You are unrealistically fixated on reducing everyones energy budget and impenetrable to opportunities to meet as much as possible cleanly.

Noisy willful ignorance about the reality we face, is just as bad as encouraging inaction. That is what you are doing in effect Fred, you are encouraging the world to fall apart around you by rejecting the knowledge and commonsense which can put it together.

  • crab

Fred the failures of the system will take care of reducing everyones energy consumption, you dont need to help that along by rejecting renewables.
