Gaza Invasion 359

CNN just announced that Israeli is launching a ground invasion “after ten days of Hamas attacks by land air and sea.” There was no questioning of that quite incredible statement. Talk about the big lie.

In a strange way I prefer this to the continued aerial bombardment, because at least the Palestinians will be able to fight back to some extent. I do hope the Palestinian defenders have a good deal of success against the Israeli tanks. Let us hope the IDF get a bloody nose like they did in Lebanon 2006.

UPDATE

The heroic Israelis have killed a five month old baby with a tank. Hope they are very proud of themselves.

@Mary: Yes, I know the block is from the US, but WHO is powerful enough to control the US to this extent (30 years…)

” That doesn’t matter really the products are still packed by Israeli based companies so don’t buy them. ”

    http://www.hoax-slayer.com/product-bar-codes.shtml

Israeli goods might also be packed by another company and not have the 729 bar code. Boycotting goods simply on the basis of the barcode is not going to be effective.

Went to BBC Website to see if they were reporting on the demonstration. Nothing! No surprises there…

Main BBC headline: “Ukraine rebels ‘destroy MH17 clues'”

If the Egyptian government is in the pocket of Israel, the Egyptian people certainly aren’t.
Maybe this video has been posted before but I have only just seen it. It’s priceless. A Candid Camera TV show invites Egyptian celebrities onto a phone-in programme that they think is for German TV, then a caller says she is disgusted that the celebrity would appear on Israeli TV. When questioned, the compère ‘admits’ that it is an Israeli show, and the celebs go ballistic.

Very funny, and very revealing about the strength of feeling against Israel in that part of the world.

Something that Anon, Habbabkuk et al would applaud:

“As the situation widely deteriorates in the Gaza Strip, Israeli parliament member and law-maker Ayelet Shaked has stigmatized all Palestinians as terrorists, wishing death on all Palestinians while supporting the Israeli military assault.”

“On Monday Shaked quoted this on her Facebook page: “Behind every terrorist stand dozens of men and women, without whom he could not engage in terrorism. They are all enemy combatants, and their blood shall be on all their heads. Now this also includes the mothers of the martyrs, who send them to hell with flowers and kisses. They should follow their sons, nothing would be more just. They should go, as should the physical homes in which they raised the snakes. Otherwise, more little snakes will be raised there.”

“They have to die and their houses should be demolished so that they cannot bear any more terrorists,” said Shaked. Standing behind the operations on Gaza, “they are all our enemies and their blood should be on our hands. This also applies to the mothers of the dead terrorists”.

  • nevermind, it will happen anyway

Been on a Norwich demo in support for an end to the suffering and bombing of Gaza. Ex MP Ian Gibson was giving a rousing speec h and the usual SWP crowd milled aorund selling newspapers.

The idea of strenghtening hamas armour and giving them the means to shoot down the jets that are straffing Palestinian civilians, enabling them to shoot and destroy tanks is beginning to find support after decades of treading water in a onesided conflict.

Only when Israeli’s loose as many children, have their own blood spilled in this mad Apartheid conflict, will they resolve to agree to a dialogue, it seems.

Hollande a socialist? more like a zionist poodle.

Time to stop paying the BBC licence tax, me thinks, let them whistle for it.

Two days of this thread and not one comment from Anon, Habbabkuk or Resident Dissident (although ResDis has been very active over the same period on the Air Disaster thread)

    Kempe:

GS1 allocate a number to each country but they do warn consumers, businesses and any other interested parties….

The GS1 Prefix, the first three digits, usually identifying the national GS1 Member Organization to which the manufacturer is registered (not necessarily where the product is actually made).

So any 729 code will give a strong indication of any product associated to Israel. I can’t recall anyone saying the bar code would comprehensively cover all goods Israeli, as with anything, further research is usually required. The craft, guile and outright deceit Israel uses in many aspects of it’s international relationships will undoubtedly try to muddy the waters. You are very much a part of that process.

Have your colleagues (Habbabcuk and ResidentDissident) been called up for military duty, Kempe?

@Je: Well it is part of British mainstream media! Probably shut comments down after too many were challenging “Everyone knows…” How anyone can even think of the UK as a democracy with such a controlled media is beyond me.

I notice that Edward Snowden has spoken about the new “Emergency” legislation. Finds it …. unbelievable!

” So any 729 code will give a strong indication of any product associated to Israel. I can’t recall anyone saying the bar code would comprehensively cover all goods Israeli, ”

    From Matt yesterday:-

“Just a reminder to anyone who wants to avoid buying products that are made in Israel: The bar code will start with 729 even if it is not clear from other info on the packaging where the product originates. ”

Plenty of webistes say the same.

Yes H and RD are busy throwing white phosphorous grenades into crowded basements. Happy?

The trolls are hiding down a hole with their tails between their legs. They know damn well that there is nothing they can say to justify this inhumanity and/or to challenge the veracity of the posts here.

Paul Adams has just reported from Gaza from a UN school which is overflowing with refugees. No blankets, no food and little water. UNRWA is now running out of money according to their head, Chris Gunness.

    http://www.unrwa.org/newsroom/press-releases/number-palestinians-seeking-shelters-gaza-exceeds-50000

Paul Adams’ father was the late Michael Adams, a rounded man, a fine journalist and writer and founder of CAABU. His obituary. Pro Palestinian at a time when that was unheard of.

It appears that there was a Twitterstorm, Mary. I’m sure they couldn’t risk BBCBias going viral!

One thing we can all do to protest is stop buying all products that have a “K” or a “U” encircled on the packaging. Those are products that are extorted by the group to pay fees to them in order to get their products accepted by the lobby. Read between the lines here. Just do some research on those little symbols on the packaging and see where the money goes.

The female zionist “spectator”: “they choose Hamas, so it is their fault!” She then continues; “I think we should wipe the whole city off the face of the Earth”, and gesturing with her fingers admits; “yeah I am a little bit fascist”!

The house of redshield setting up its very own private money laundering gateway, has meant that millions of people ought to be held in concentration camps and bombed at will while the rest of the zionist scum invade the blogs and pepper the place with utter shite in defence of the indefensible actions of marauding hoards of rabid mad zionists on their killing sprees.

    How civilised won’t you agree?

Well thanks in my absence for putting words into my mouth, Doug, but I certainly wouldn’t applaud that. What I would say is that in a democracy all sorts of unpleasant views will be aired. Ayelet Shaked’s comments are certainly not representative of anything but a small minority of extremists in Israel.

Now, honestly, can the same be said of similar sentiments on the Palestinian side?

Maybe in the future some Brit-hating Israeli blogger will publish words of Nick Griffin and claim they are representitive of British opinion.

This is the problem you have sitting in front of your computer all day picking tidbits of information from your favoured websites to publish here as if it somehow gives you the moral high ground, whilst actually doing fuck all to change the life of a single Palestinian.
