    I was as honest and objective as I could possibly be..I just wrote on The Daily Telegraph..that I was going to ask 10 people – completely at random – or as random as I could be a simple question…

    I explained – I just want a Yes or No for an answer…

    My Question was if you were Scottish and on Thursday you had to vote Yes or No to Scottish Independence..what would you Reply Be…in some cases the answer was immediate..for various reasons..Basically The Band Were Brilliant and No one Could Really Give a Fuck…

    That is a little unfair some people explained their reasons in great detail…

    It was mainly English…

    The Score Was

    7-3

    I was as Fair as I possibly Could Be

    7 People Said Yes To Scottish Independence
    3 People Said No

    I Reckon You’ve Got It

    Even The English Want The Scots To Win 7-3

    What a Result..

    That was just a Tony Poll of 10 people.

    The Place Was Rockin..

    Our Mate’s Were Playing…they voted 1-1.

    Tony

    @Kathy

    The emphasis was on fairness and justice in a social democratic set-up.

    As opposed to the government of the UK where the emphasis is on unfairness and injustice and a social democratic set-up?

    Come on. That’s sheer vapor exhaled by every politician who need the pleb vote.

    “In Britain welfare spending has gone up from 18.6 per cent of GDP to 23.7 per cent of GDP – an increase of 27 per cent – since 2000.” Source

    So what proportion of Scottish GDP will be devoted to “fairness” if independence is achieved: twice 23.7%, three times? And how exactly will the extra cash be raised?

    Dispossessing the land owners would be a start, but once the land has been transferred to the Commissars of the Socialist Republic, what then?

  • CanSpeccy

    @JS:

    But you can be sure about one thing, there will NEVER be a jimmy savile grooming an entire Independent Scotland (like he did the UK) and buggering its young boys and corpses.

    Dunno about the corpses but messing with small kids aint just an English vice, it would appear.

    But the spell is still upon us, we were led to believe that a magic bullet by LHO took a U turn and blew out JFKs brains back towards it, which we saw Jackie desperately trying to retrieve. Now we are being double-dutched that a single magic BUK broke into MIRVS and created all those puncture holes all over the MH17 fuselage?!! All carried out by the SAME devils based in the N Wing of the Pentagon, the Beast mentioned in the Revelations, its wot the Scots are trying to break free from.

    I have become terrified of America. Like the Black Plague the poison from her belly is all pervasive, destroying any life-form that portends US egoism and US deviance.

    The power of intention conceived to protect more slaughter in Syria is withered not overcome, the quantum entanglement cannot be detached from the source unless a perfectly original anomaly exists.

    America can rule by the sword. can, invade any State, any place, at any hour.

    Assassinating, butchering, slaying, without consent, without sanction, while no veto, no protest, no refusal, no opposition will bar, block or break her.

    Singularly and completely only the quantum law will destroy America before the end of the world.

    29 comments and only one intelligible one from Habby @ 23h36. (i.e. ” Your point, Craig?”

    Proof that everyone is in “talking heads” mode?

    So, Craig please provide context. Btw what is the Benshie Estate? Anyone? Why should Rusbridger declare an interest?
    At any rate, with Mary asleep, I had to do my own research and came across this obituary of a rather interesting character, Lord John-Mackie, older brother to the Lord Mackie referred to by Craig. Read it here:

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/obituary-lord-johnmackie-1438834.html

    My ‘research’ lead me to another interesting bit that Rusbridger is generally not good with making declarations of interest:

    “Their daughter Bella Mackie also writes for The Guardian, but uses her mother’s surname as a nom de plume to avoid suspicion of having obtained the job through nepotism.” (wiki)

    and then this article in The Jewish Chronicle:

    “Guardian editor’s daughter in Melanie Phillips row”
    http://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/21934/guardian-editors-daughter-melanie-phillips-row

    Glad to be the first to bring the “jewish” connection up. Mary will approve and so will Fedex, sorry Fedup, who has sorely been missing me 🙂

    @JS:

    the Beast mentioned in the Revelations, its wot the Scots are trying to break free from.

    The break up of the UK is obviously the objective of the beast, just as it seeks the break-up of Russia and China. All are to be ruled by the global institutions, the EU, NATO, the WTO, the UN, etc., etc., all run by people like that great Scotsman and ME Peace Envoy, Phony Blair, who are only too anxious to be bought by the money power.

    Even in a world of great powers, a United Kingdom is something you would not wish to mess with. Broken up, Scotland, England minus London probably, Wales, Cornwall, then there’s no effective resistance to the globalist plutocratic elite.

    @Mark: Militarily, Russia can stop the US going into Syria. She’s the only nation on earth that can. But she should be able to stop it diplomatically.

    My main worry would be that EU Nations would take US’s side. In the UK it is clear that Cameron is as much a poodle as Blair was, but others in the British establishment seem more cautious. Don’t know about France but they are generally less hawkish than the UK.

    My guess:

    1. Obama will ignore the US Senate and declare that they’ll start bombing
    2. Obama will also ignore the UN, and claim he has authority from some previous UNSC meeting
    3. Russia will declare an Emergency meeting of the UN disputing this.
    4. Britain and France will eventually see sense and say they’ll abstain if it goes to a vote.
    5. US will be forced to retreat.

    (exact reverse to the Cuban Missile crisis in some respects)
    It all depends on Russia stepping up to the mark because there’s no other nation on earth that can do it. Is Putin as good at poker as Kennedy? Obama claimed that he flinched a bit at the meeting before the NATO summit.

    What can we do to stop the madness? US will be putting huge pressure on France and UK to support them. We need to put pressure on our MPs to let them know in no uncertain terms that we don’t support this US mission… and we think it would be illegal anyway. We should do this by writing to them.

    @CanSpeccy: So these guys are (were?) planning to strengthen Ukraine and seeking to expand it Eastwards. Yes, they’d certainly need Nazi fighters to do that, hence building up Sloboda, Bandera heroes etc. I understand that the “deRussifying” of Ukraine started almost immediately after the USSR collapse so that may once have been the strategy.

    Surely that 8th September article is just the ravings of a madman… based on late 1990s thinking, not someone who currently has the ear of Washington? Interesting map of the “new” world though.

    @PW

    Surely that 8th September article is just the ravings of a madman… based on late 1990s thinking…

    Sounds mad, but not just 1990’s thinking according to a recent article in the National Post by Lord Conrad Black of Crossharbour (unless he was booted from the Lord’s after his US fraud conviction) in which he wrote:

    The West must always resist oppression, and must now embrace and assist its friends in Ukraine [i.e., the genocidal lot trying to kill the Russians of Donbass], not only from compassion for them [the Nazi killers, presumably], but to bring closer the adherence of Holy Mother Russia to the West and to stretch the West from the Americas across the Eurasian land mass to the Far East and Australasia.

    Which, prompted the observation that:

    Forgetting the motherhood phrases about resisting oppression, about assisting friends, about compassion, and what you have is a statement of New World Order policy, which is the unrelenting assimilation of the former Soviet Empire in successive slices. First the Soviet satellites were assimilated by the EU and Nato, then the Baltic states, then the Balkans, now is the turn of Ukraine, to be followed most likely by Belarus, and then the Caucuses, and on, and on.

    So no, I don’t think the Empire will rest until Russia has been destroyed as an independent power.

    Has Salmond been nobbled? How can there be 4.3m registered adult voters in a population of only 5m, I would have thought children under 18 would amount to at least 2m!?? The vote will be easy to rig if there are at least 1m “phantom” voters in this alleged 4.3m registered voters. Can somebody please explain these numbers, where is habba when you need him, if he keeps his yarmulke well below the parapet on this one, there must be something very fishy. Is Mr Diebold in charge here, are the Scots being taken for a ride? There were only 2.45m registered voters in the 2010 elections? Help !!

  • Fool

    If Scotland votes yes next week and we then have a referendum as promised on leaving the EU during the interim period of negotiations between Scotland and Westminster do Scots get to vote in the EU referendum?

    If Scots left out how will that change the EU referendum vote – presumably increase the % of those who wish to leave?

    And he said, A certain man had two sons:

    And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

    And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

    And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

    And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

    And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

    And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

    I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

    And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

    And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

    And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

    But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

    And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

    For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

    Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

    And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

    And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

    And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

    And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

    But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

    And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

    It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

    The Observer was brilliant in the 60s and 70s.

    One of the editors was Donald Trelford. Relatives of mine are friends of his first wife whom he left. I came across this the other day. He is keen to propagate the human race it would seem.

    ~~~~~~~~
    ‘Former Observer editor Donald ‘where’s your troosers’ Trelford is a father again at 76. Third wife Claire, 51, delivered his sixth child, daughter Poppy, in Majorca, where they now repose.
    ‘The hospital administrators, who needed our dates of birth, flatly refused to believe my age until I showed them my passport,’ boasts The Donald.
    He is proud to have set two Garrick Club records: the oldest member to father a child and the one with the largest age gap between the oldest and youngest. Eldest child Sally is 49.’
    Am I missing something here? Since I assume that Rusbridger – and anybody else, for that matter – will inherit whatever they are set to inherit whatever the result of the referendum, and whatever side of the border their assumed inheritance lies on, what difference does it make?
