Massive Growth in Non-Existent Crime 227

It is lead news in every outlet of the mainstream media today that there is a massive increase in terrorism – as everyone can plainly see from all the bodies littering our streets.

I can also tell you that there is a massive increase in the threat of deadly asteroids about to hit Britain and destroy us all. My unimpeachable evidence for the existence of this massive asteroid threat is my own anti-asteroid activity. I and my dedicated team have visited 268 sites this year where we thought an asteroid was about to strike. That represents a 40% increase on our activity last year and therefore the media can say a 40% increase in the asteroid threat.

Thankfully due to the brilliance and never-ceasing vigilance of my anti-asteroid team the world has been saved. We can continue to do this if given a further 15% budget increase to 32 billion pounds and the right to arrest anyone anytime who looks a bit dusky, and take Theresa May to pose in their home.

There will also be a new crime of denying that asteroids are dangerous or looking at videos and pictures of asteroids. Anybody found guilty of looking at asteroids in other countries will be found guilty of treason and hung drawn and quartered.

Of course the terrorism situation gets more complicated when you become aware there is a terrorism that government agencies sometimes intentionally inflict (or allow to be inflicted) on their own citizens or allies in order to take advantage of the propaganda advantage it brings in demonizing the designated “bad guy”.

    From The Soapbox People’s Network:
We were lied to about 9/11, Episode 6 – John Gold interviews 9/11 widow and star of “9/11 Press for Truth” Laurie Van Auken

Lorie Van Auken was the wife of Kenneth Van Auken, a bond broker at Cantor Fitzgerald on the 105th floor of Tower 1 who was killed on 9/11. She, along with 9/11 Family Members Kristen Breitweiser, Mindy Kleinberg, and Patty Casazza were greatly responsible for the creation of the 9/11 Commission. Together, they were famously known as the “Jersey Girls,” but are also known as the “September Eleventh Advocates.” Lorie was part of 12 9/11 Family Members that made up what was called the 9/11 Family Steering Committee. She, along with the others, helped to monitor the 9/11 Commission, to supply 100’s of well researched questions for the 9/11 Commission to answer, she worked with staffers of the 9/11 Commission, she helped the others fight for more time and money for the 9/11 Commission, and since the time of the 9/11 Commission, she has continued to be an advocate for 9/11 Justice.

Yeah, sure, it’s only a few tens of thousands of Africans dead – no big deal huh? Ok, it turns out to be a few hundred thou, ok a mill or two. My bad. What? What???

    Good Grief.

    Ben.

Re baffling moderation… Sitting with the shaman among dripping stalagtites, deep in a limestone tube whose curved and scalloped forms whispered tales of immense time, torrents of glacier-melt, big cats, bears and fur-clad hunter folk, I came to realise there are things, like the mysteries of moderation, that belong to realms so strange and alien that a mere human mind would sooner burst than understand.

Others, are easier to fathom, like the Three Noble Things… “Shit Happens, Shit Comes to an End and That Was Good Shit!” Finally an extra Not-Very-Noble Truth for Catholics “That Shit wasMY FAULT”.

Jives: Not sure where you’re coming from here. It seems clear that this was a particularly poorly planned, ill-considered and botched job of violent protest. To elevate this as some “sleeper” threat over which we should consider ourselves existentially threatened shouldn’t pass a laugh test.

  • ------------·´`·.¸¸.¸¸.··.¸¸Node

Glenn_uk “Yeah, sure, it’s only a few tens of thousands of Africans dead”

Where did you get that figure from?
How many Africans have died from malaria over the same period?
Why are you always so certain about everything?

  • glenn_uk

…..Node: A serious question, and one which I’m always willing to examine. I’m basing this figure on a number of diverse sources, and the conclusions of commentators who are particularly discriminating and careful themselves, lest they leap to conclusion.

As far as malaria is concerned – we both know the sad truth about that. It’s contained in the regions we (the Great Democracies) are not concerned about, and can treat it when We have to visit those godless areas of the world. But Ebola (proper noun!) threatens Us. That’s what makes it important.

    *
Is that suggestion about being certain directed towards me personally? Or a broad question for general personal reflection?

You seemed to be suggesting that I was indifferent to, or trivialising, African deaths, whereas my point was directed at the Western terror-makers when I dared suggest that the Ebola outbreak was probably being hyped.

I can’t find any mention of your ‘tens of thousands figure’. Nearly every source I have seen suggests the total death toll in this outbreak is less than 5,000, a terrible figure but less than flu fatalities in a mild Scottish winter and dwarfed by the annual toll of 500,000-plus Africans who die from entirely preventable malaria.

I don’t pretend to know what’s going on with Ebola. I don’t rule out anything – it could be just what the MSM say it is, could be lab-born and deliberately spread, could be a big pharma money-maker, could be an excuse to reach the parts of Africa Western troops don’t normally reach – but it smells like a scam of some sort to me. I mean, how serious is the US establishment taking the threat when they put a dodgy lobbyist in charge of combating it.

Credibility is the only currency I value on this blog. In a years time we’ll know who was right. Here’s that bet again, adapted for those only concerned about Westerners: I bet you one blog credibility token that by the time Craig’s next birthday comes around, ebola will be forgotten and flu will have killed 50 times more Westerners.

I withdraw the question about certainty.

Tell Cameron and the MPs NO

We already knew that fracking was a bad idea, but this is astonishing.

Just this week, David Cameron’s plan to allow fracking firms to drill under our homes was rubber-stamped by the House of Lords.

But here’s where it gets worse: At the last moment, the draft law was updated to allow fracking firms to pump “any substance” under people’s homes and property — and leave it there! [1]

This makes a mockery of the prime minister’s claim that UK fracking regulations are some of the most stringent in the world. And it absolves fracking firms of any responsibility for clearing up the mess they create.

Our MPs are now the last defence before the laws are approved. Can you sign the petition asking all MPs to vote against Cameron’s plan?

    https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/fracking-backlash-3

We know fracking won’t help lower energy bills [2]. We know that shale gas won’t help with the battle against climate change [3]. And we know that the global fracking industry has been mired in accidents and mistakes.

In April 2009, cattle were discovered dead near a drill site in Louisiana. An investigation found fracking fluid had leaked from the well pad and run into an adjacent field. And in July 2013, XTO Energy was forced to shell out $100,000 in compensation after a spill of contaminated wastewater in Pennsylvania [4].

Despite claiming that the UK has tough regulations to prevent disasters like this, the government is now rushing to remove obstacles, muddling through laws that will put the interests of shale drillers before the safety of our environment and our climate.

We don’t have long before MPs will get their final say on Cameron’s plan to allow drilling under our homes. If we can show them how unpopular his idea is, they’ll think twice before voting it through.

Please ask your MP to take a stand today: https://secure.greenpeace.org.uk/fracking-backlash-3

    Thank you

To little Shayma who only lived for five days.

On July 25, surgeons in Gaza delivered a baby girl by Caesarean section within hours of the death of her mother, Shayma al-Sheikh Qanan, from wounds sustained in an Israeli shell attack. The girl, also named Shayma, died five days later in an incubator as shelling cut the power supply.

The author is Neil Young, a good journalist who worked for the Western Morning News but who now lives in Scotland.

    Shayma

I see you turning cartwheels on the beach
like my own daughter, my wee girl
and hands like mine – your father’s – tracing
    crease of skin and shoulder curl;

I see you laughing – wondrous laughter –
as you slip on your mother’s shoes,
and birthday candles, like my daughter’s,
    yet each blow unique to you;

And when at school the teacher asks
what you will be when you have grown
you tell them dancer, doctor¸ maybe
    film star – it’s too much to know;

Your almost life plays out as I
look on distractedly at my daughter
and all that really splits their worlds
is timing, birthright, language, border –

Life: Your mother’s held so cheaply
her bloodied body stained the street,
The surgeon’s hands that cut through her
to save you cut the skin as deep
to reach our child, our own wee girl.

For you, a conscript’s hands await
to kill the power and, Shayma, every
    breath of hope you incubate.

  • Habbabkuk (La vita è bella) !

The “incubate” rhyme is a little clumsy, isn’t it? Not keen on the “wee” in the fourth line from the end either, a Scottish resonance in a Palestinian context jars a little. Otherwise, better than most of the other stuff you’ve posted.

Ebola may be part of God’s judgment for President Barack Obama’s alleged attempts to “divide Jerusalem,” said John Hagee, a San Antonio-based pastor and founder of Christians United For Israel.

Citing the Book of Joel, the televangelist took to Tuesday’s broadcast of the “Hagee Hotline” to tell listeners that “our president is dead set on dividing Jerusalem. God is watching and he will bring America into judgment,” according to the left-leaning Right Wing Watch.

“There are grounds to say that judgment has already begun, because he, the president, has been fighting to divide Jerusalem for years now.”

    ______________

A top court has upheld the death sentence, of a christian woman, who’s 2010 conviction of “Blasphemy” led to the assassination of two politicians who supported her.

Pakistani Ministers for minorities, Shahbaz Bhatti and Salman Taseer, were both murdered for trying to help the christian woman.
    _______________________________

Pakistan in my opinion is a country, on the edge of religious lawlessness, if you’re a christian or non muslim you can be fitted up quite easily through the “Blasphemy Law.”

Meanwhile all kinds of western and other backed terror groups flit in and out of Pakistan from Iran to Afghanistan, whilst the west sends millions if not billions in support.

A Palestinian boy was shot in the chest point-blank and later died amid a confrontation between Israeli forces and stone-throwing youths in a village of the occupied West Bank, according to local media and medical sources.

Bahaa Badr, 13, was fatally shot by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) as the troops made their way to Beit Liqya village in the West Bank, located near the border with Israel, Reuters reported citing medical sources and local residents. It not clear whether the boy had actually thrown any stones himself.
