Israeli Criminals No Longer Welcome 176

The state of Palestine today becomes a member of the International Criminal Court. This has a practical significance beyond the additional political pressure it piles on Israel. It means that in future Israelis will be liable to the jurisdiction of the court for crimes committed on Palestinian territory, despite Israel’s refusal to sign up to the court along with that other international rogue state, the United States of America.

In the case of the murders on the Mavi Marmara, the Court ruled that the scale of the incident did not reach the bar required for the Court’s jurisdiction – that it does not try war crimes which are individual acts. However it will be impossible to argue that at the next mass Israeli killing in Gaza, or even at the next large scale seizure of territory for Israeli settlements.

One of the many disgraces of neo-con government in the UK is the existence of legislation passed by the UK parliament specifically to allow Israeli war criminals to visit the UK without fear of arrest. That however will be overridden by Britain’s obligation to detain and hand over persons indicted by the International Criminal Court. Today’s apparently small step could change the atmosphere for the arrogant Israeli elite in a fundamental way. They will no longer be able to massacre hundreds of Palestinian women and children whenever they feel it boosts their cause, without some concern about personal consequences.

With the prospect of a deal bringing Iran back into the international community also appearing bright, we can be allowed a rare moment of optimism.

@ all members and candidate-members of the Egregiousness of Excellences and sundry Useful Idiots:

could one or several of you tell me why you find Craig so right on Israel but so wrong on Putin’s Russia?

    Thank you kindly! 🙂

The night shift was late in clocking on tonight.
    ……

We have already dealt with the determination of Israel as an apartheid entity. No further words are needed.

You may think its easy..but it is not easy. It was easier 30+ years ago..when I was on my way to work at 6:30am..ans I’d pick up a copy of Sounds…and if there were any decent bands on at The Hammersmith Odeon or Wenbley..I would drive there to the Box Office when it opened in my lunch break..and get the very best tickets right at the front…

David Coverdale once handed my wife and I his beer at the Front of Wembley Arena..and we passed it around and gave it back..Front Row Seated..

So Now We are Going To Do It Again..It has taken me over an hour on two days..to get through to any of various websites..and pay for the bloody tickets..Standing Up and Dancing…

In the end..I got em cheap..well £45 rather than over £50..and I didn’t but in any Boris Pass or Anything…

We are Going To See Whitesnake Again..I thought he looked Fantastic 10 years ago at The Hammersmith…Now Whitesnake are Doing a World Tour..

    http://www.whitesnake.com/

Never met the guy…but my Wife loves Whitesnake to bits..She says they are better than Deep Purple. I once met a girl in Huddersfield who claimed she had shagged Ian Gillan, and I had no reason not to believe her.

Deep Purple are on Tour as Well but almost sold out..

We saw Robert Plant last year at The Roundhouse…

Well, let’s de-aggregate the “we” : YOU haven’t dealt with anything (cuts -and-paste don’t cut the mustard) and YOUR FRIENDS have tied themselves up in knots trying to demolish my points.

So I should say that the notion that the State of Israel is not an apartheid state must stand.

@Tony I found your ranting and ravings rather amusing some years ago..though now I find them slightly annoying. Please do us a favour and log onto the Daily Mail and you can leave your rantings and ravings in the Comments section.

Though you have amused us on this Blog for years with your Poet Wisdom and actually we do find it somewhat funny, Craig does tr to inspire a reasonable debate..while your comments are tolerated as a somewhat eccentric..enough is enough. FIND YERSELF ANOTHER FORUM WEE MAN BEFORE YE BECOME A WEE VOICE WHE NANE WILL FEAR YE.

Think way too early to bid goodbye to Israeli government officials and politicians.

They have infiltrated far too many Western governments, security and defense agencies, and, of course, NATO, for them not to be calling many of the shots and cover ups, no matter what laws exist, court venues created, and public pressure exerted.

  • Mary

Try the UN definition and then test it against the numerous reports of Israeli treatment of Palestinians.

‘”Apartheid” isn’t just a term of insult; it’s a word with a very specific legal meaning, as defined by the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid, adopted by the U.N. General Assembly in 1973 and ratified by most United Nations member states (Israel and the United States are exceptions, to their shame).

According to Article II of that convention, the term applies to acts “committed for the purpose of establishing and maintaining domination by one racial group of persons over any other racial group of persons and systematically oppressing them.” Denying those others the right to life and liberty, subjecting them to arbitrary arrest, expropriating their property, depriving them of the right to leave and return to their country or the right to freedom of movement and of residence, creating separate reserves and ghettos for the members of different racial groups, preventing mixed marriages — these are all examples of the crime of apartheid specifically mentioned in the convention.’

There is no wriggle room for those in denial.

    [Off topic.]

Craig, I’m hoping you might post regarding the 29 March 2015 ‘re-election’ of Karimov with 90% of the vote. The incredibly light stub-article on WP made me think of your expert knowledge, and what your thoughts might be: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uzbekistani_presidential_election,_2015.

The very brief article (though probably factually correct) also likely gives completely the wrong impression of what an election means in Uzbekistan, from the perspective of a casual reader.

    Regards.

Yes, and I am most disappointed to find @Glenn_UK partaking in the usual nonsense about Israeli “genocide” and “apartheid”. He appears to be paraphrasing me an awful lot lately and attributing to me all sorts of horrendous things, merely for the crime of buying a case of fine wine, which I might add is one of the best Israel has to offer and approaching its most drinkable right now.

I would only add that it is precisely because Israel is not engaging in genocide or apartheid that the useful idiots are so desperate to make out that it is. You can sense them almost willing it on in every comment to confirm their worst suepicions about the Jews.

Craig said: “One of the many disgraces of neo-con government in the UK is the existence of legislation passed by the UK parliament specifically to allow Israeli war criminals to visit the UK without fear of arrest.”

I believe Craig is alluding to the change in arrest warrents and universal jurisdiction…

More up to date (and official) stuff here…

  • Tony_0pmoc

Well I did ask them…well a bit…I caught them first band on at the weekend of a Festival..I videod them..and then ..I did it again..and then I interviewed them..I was dead friendly with them got on like a house on fire..I spoke raw working class Lancashire and they spoke really strong Glasgow (there is a big difference from Posh Edinburgh and London)

They probably thought it was a Foreign Country..and Well I did a bit..How The Fuck Can You Talk English Like That..That is So Incredibly Scottish That Absolutely No Fucker in Surrey is Going To Understand You..Except My Wife and I …

So we interviewed them..they did ask..but I have never done this before..but I had a high definition camera and a mike…

And so I my wife just got talking to his girl ..and the love was just so strong..and I had my camera and the mike on my monopod..and I just gave the entire thing to my wife..whilst I gave the guy an enormous cuddle…

Well Of Course..He said you can edit out that bit..I said sure mate.

It was nice to be asked.

Unlike you Guys Who Video Craig Murray..There Was Absolutely No Problem With The High Definition Video and High Definition Sound.

Maybe you guys should have made friends with me…..rather than always telling me to Fuck Off..cos you don’t like me..cos I tell the Truth..and have made a success out of my life,.. rather being brainwashed or lying.

    Tony

  • Tony_0pmoc

But what Political Difference have I made?…

Well a bit..I helped get the law changed..so the Police couldn’t just capture 15 year old kids..who had done nothing wrong..to take their DNA for Anthony Charles Lynton Blairs Psycho Police..and sure they have arrested me…but I had done nothing wrong either..an all my friends surrounded me and them..and My Wife turned up…Why Exactly Have You Arrested My Husband?..They said He has been accused of taking photographs of Children…

I showed The Police..They Were Videos of The Children Playing Live on Stage..

I have done ths Before..This Is My Local Park..My Local Fair

Ask the Chief Of Police…That was His Kid..Last Year…

So They Let Me Go..cos The Chief Of Police..I sent him The videos of his kid..I didn’t realise..but My Daughter had already been round their home..

I know you don’t believe me but wtf

I am not lying..and I have all the evidence..in High Definition and Stereo Sound.

I Recorded it Myself..I wasn’t asking Someone Else To Do it For Me…

And I Write My Own Stuff…

I can understand if you don’t like it.

Go on Tell Me To Fuck Off Again..

    Ban Me.

    Tony

  • RobG

No, don’t ban Tony. He actually makes more sense than the total bollocks of the General Election campaign that we’ve got to put up with for the next five weeks.

So who’s going to ‘win’, Tony?

  • fred

“So who’s going to ‘win’, Tony?”

The party which gets most seats of course.

This notion in these parts that it is justified for the minority to call the shots because it is the minority they support is not democracy, it is the road to tyranny.

  • glenn_uk

Anon1: Did I mischaracterise your writings for the last few days? You’ve bragged about taking a holiday in Israel, inspired – you told us – by the BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction) movement. You talk about buying Israeli produce, then about Israeli wine – with the sole intention of rubbing in our noses. By “our”, I mean those people who would like to see Israel treat the Palestinians as human beings with the accompanying rights.

  • glenn_uk

“could one or several of you tell me why you find Craig so right on Israel but so wrong on Putin’s Russia?”

We can’t expect someone to be right on everything, or agree with them on everything, now can we? 😉

Besides – who was whining at a bunch of the regulars here a little while back, saying how -all- Murray’s supporters quickly sing from whatever hymn-sheet CM happens to be holding? It wasn’t your good self, it might have been before you arrived. All the same, at least you know now that not all CM supporters are blind followers.

  • RobG

Fred, although I think I’ve probably called you names in the past, I do actually respect your opinion.

But the bottom line here (as it was with the Scottish referendum) is that the media is now almost entirely controlled by right wing entities.

How can you have a free and fair election under those circumstances?

  • glenn_uk

This notion in these parts that it is justified for the minority to call the shots because it is the minority they support is not democracy, it is the road to tyranny.

I accept your point, and it’s an interesting one. However, that minority party should – hopefully, and generally speaking will – go with the second largest party only if they are mostly ideologically aligned. Greens with socialists, Labour, Plaid and (dare I say, possibly) SNP. Tories with the BNP, UKIP, NF, IDF and other nationalist, far-right thugs.

The minority party now (Lib Dems) hardly have been able to “call the shots” in the past 5 years, wouldn’t you agree? They’ve had a fairly marginal position on policy, frankly, and have only enabled the wretched Tories, which is why every right-minded person now hates them. At least you know where are with the bloody Tories, and would expect no better from the bastards.

Are you suggesting that no coalition government is any good? I understand the specific point you’ve raised, but would like to understand your broader issue here.

  • fred

So you want to abolish elections and just go with what you decide is free and fair?

The Liberal party being democrats wouldn’t want to call the shots and have lost support and even been hated by the more fanatical of their past supporters. They may have supported tuition fees but they did secure a referendum on proportional representation in exchange.

They didn’t try to hold the country to ransom out of thirst for power.
