Kezia Dugdale Got Just 5,217 Votes 1642

The Labour Party is being remarkably coy about releasing the actual result of its Scottish accounting unit leadership election, giving only a percentage. The entirely complacent unionist media is complicit in what amounts to a deception. The stunning truth is that in a one person, one vote election among the entire membership of the Labour Party in Scotland plus trades union supporters, Dugdale won with 5,217 votes (out of a claimed electorate of 21,000, many of whom do not exist or could not be arsed to choose between two right wing numpties).

UPDATE: A second Labour figure just rang me to assure me my information – which was from a good source – is wrong. She would not give the actual figure and only said it was “higher”. I offered to take down the post and publish an accurate figure if she would give it, but this was declined.

The Kansas newspaper apparently likes to re-churn exactly 1 year old news, which is not necessarily wrong; otherwise PR is the winner!; some other nice articles from 2014 include this one on checking your bookcase for ‘terrorizm’ https://www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/richard-mcneil-willson/beware-terrorist-lurking-in-your-bookcase-are-british-citizens-bei

more up-to-date, the internet of evil stuff is coming soon!

“Be very careful of the pro-fascist” – perhaps Macky might wish to comment on why anyone who supports Ukrainian independence is automatically labelled pro-fascist by some of the cretins here. Until he comes out of his own glass house might I suggest he stops throwing stones.

  • Resident Dissident

Macky and Goss would also be advised to disassociate Putin and Russia – I am a Russophile but that does not mean I have to engage in licking Putin’s arse with him and his friends.

  • Resident Dissident

“second on the list was the US Ambassador who engineered the Maidan coup, Geoffrey Pyatt. Speaks volumes to me.”

Nothing like the guilt by association game – perhaps we could start do the same to you Mr Goss?

  • Les Incredibles

So Harriet Harman has all along been the pollard within Labour enabling the cons to win the general elections? Leading this shameful convoluted business of overturning a grass roots democratic labour vote for a Corbyn leadership is proof of her treachery. There are a very few people in our politics who can see their faces in the mirror every morning like a Sayeeda Warsi, at this rate it might well become de rigeur for every politician to undergo a public polygraph for Gods sake !

  • fedup

    automatically labelled pro-fascist

What is automatic about the track record of supporting the Ukrainian fascist and the zionist vermin?

Do you object calling the Ukrainian fascist regime for what it is?

PS were you looking in the mirror when “cretin” jumped into your mind?

    Macky

You have obviously not noticed that the saner and more intelligent regular commenters on here – Ba’al, Dreoilin, Glenn, Resident Dissident, Jon,etc (I leave myself out for the sake of modesty)- all think that you are a waste of space…or worse.

Does that not give you pause for thought?

  • Ba'al Zevul

I regret I can’t be here 24/7 for Macky. It’s obviously very needy, and social services aren’t what they were, so I am honestly doing my best for it. When the care company starts paying travelling time, I shall improve my service.

Like RD, I dissociate Putin and Russia. Russia’s had a pretty raw deal from its leaders down the ages, and the idea of an all-controlling autocracy seems to be embedded in the system; whether under the tsars, Stalin or the current autocratic control of a corrupt oligarchy. Russia deserves better.

    What Saakashvili heard from Putin…

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/ukraine-crisis-putin-is-obsessed-with-the-idea-of-testing-nato–and-the-baltics-will-be-next-says-odessa-governor-mikheil-saakashvili-10403298.html

Putin asked whether Lithuanian president Adamkus really [thought] two or three scrap metal planes from Nato [could] defend him,” recalled Mr Saakashvili, then recounted the Russian president’s chilling next remarks: “We are laughing at this equipment. Does he really think Nato will fight for the Balts?”

Obligatory disclaimer: Saakashvili is an evil ex-oligarch. Putin is a good oligarch, and is in fact Father Christmas.

  • Les Incredibles

@RD – if you must know , Ukraine was simply a bid to hive off a New Khazaria (as a backup if the denizens of apartheied israel ever have to flee) by the neocoens embedded in the US State Dept. With the bill to be conveniently paid by the IMF/EU. Unfortunately a Russian chess playing grandmaster Putin (remember that nuland/pyatt leaked phone call) was aware of their games ALL ALONG whilst pretending to be busy on Sochi, and grabbed an open rook (Crimea) at the outset leaving the ziocon plan in tatters. Now he waits, with the power to cut off the coal, nuclear power rods, coal, spare parts, etc, until the West runs out of billions to prop up porky OR the patent nonsense of this oligarki/kapo/nazi/svoboda alliance runs its course. Billyi is dead, very soon it will be yats.

  • Macky

RD; “Macky and Goss would also be advised to disassociate Putin and Russia”

    +

Ba’al; “Like RD, I dissociate Putin and Russia”

LOL ! Talk about brass neck chutzpah !! It you Russophobes that can’t taking about Putin being synonymous with Russia !

Keep on demonising chaps, you are really convincing everybody about your love for Russia & its people ! 😀

  • Macky

typo; “It’s you Russophobes that can’t stop talking about Putin as being synonymous with Russia !”

“From the original edition of the Corpus Juris, vol. 12, p. 686:

“A constitutional convention is a legislative body of the highest order. It proceeds by legislative methods. Its acts are legislative acts.” Report of Judiciary Committee, Elihu Root, Chairman, N.Y. Const. Conv. (1894) Proceedings pp. 79-80.”
    _______________________

I shall leave it to the more intelligent readers to judge whether the above – as relayed by our Transatlantic, Irish-American, Oxford Greatsman, US Navy officer. Berlin “Neues Deutschland” reader, holder of “several” higher degrees including a doctorate and onetime occupier of an office in the Pentagon “a couple of doors down” from the top US military medical honcho* – is in any way relevant to the question of whether the Irish Constitutional Convention (201-2014) was a “legislative body” as he claimed.

    His post, reproduced below, refers:

“The Irish Constitutional Convention which sat from 2012 to 2014 and which proposed the marriage equality amendment that was then adopted by popular referendum was another recent example of a randomly selected legislative body”.

I would suggest that it was not, given that two of its recommendations were the subject of a referendum in Ireland (one was accepted and the Constitution was thereafter changed by the Dail, the other was rejected) and the others were ignored by the government.

    /////////////////////

So I would say : nice try at diversion, Lysias. But you are not dealing with a Macky when you mix it with me, you know. 🙂

And now back to the point which our Transatlantic friend was trying to obscure.

The voting of a multiannual budget in one Australian city by a randomly chosen panel and the establishment of a time-limited Constitutional Convention in Ireland with the remit to make recommendations to the legislative power on a number of specific issues, some of whose members were chosen at random, are poor examples if Lysias is using them to hawk his obsession that modern countries should be governed by randomly-selected parliaments.

If Lysias is not using them as examples, then the cases he gives are irrelevant to anything except, perhaps, his desire to occupy space on this blog.

    * more titillating bits of “biography” to follow, sans doute.

    Macky

Yep I’m such a Russophobe that I married one and all our children have dual Russian nationality.

BTW you might wish to pay a little attention to the friends who are attracted your cause e.g. the scum at 11:43am – Mr Goss please note this is what a real fascist sounds like these days.

  • John Goss

Ba’al’s comment at 11.30 shows that Macky’s comment at 10.52 is correct.

Glenn might not be happy to be in Habbabkuk’s list of intellectuals. Even Ba’al might ba’lk a bit at the idea. 🙂

“It’s you Russophobes that can’t stop talking about Putin as being synonymous with Russia !”

“I got a message about checking the computer idea and please wait before being directed to the site. The same thing happened when I closed it. I will not be linking to this site again.”

It was standard denial of service protection provided by Cloud Flare – you might wish to ask your friends in Shushanka street why it is necessary.

  • Habbabkuk (la vita e' bella)

Good news for some of Greece’s major tax dodgers (from Kathimerini, English edition):

“Around 122,000 pensioners face reduced supplementary pensions, including freelancers, self-employed doctors, engineers and lawyers. Under a ministerial decision signed by Alternate Minister for Social Security Pavlos Haikalis as part of Greece’s third memorandum, 11 auxiliary funds will automatically be included in a single supplementary insurance fund, ETEA, for around 1.8 million pensioners.

The auxiliary funds should have been included in ETEA as part of Greece’s second bailout, but the provision was never applied.

The 11 funds under ETEA will operate as a single administrative and financial organization.

Major changes are expected with the implementation of new social security rules through which the insured will be subject to uniform rules without exception, and will be entitled to corresponding benefits.

The ETEA budget for 2015 shows a deficit of 326 million euros, while the savings from integrating the funds is expected to be around 16 million euros.

The third memorandum prevents ETEA deficits being covered by the state budget. Therefore a second round of reductions to supplementary pensions from October on is seen as inevitable.”

But do not feel too sorry for them. Their undeclared income while working has been safely invested in real estate (houses and flats in the posher parts of Athens and the nicer islands)…

  • Habbabkuk (la vita e' bella)

    Mr Goss

“Ken Loach, as a film producer, is quite in order showing solidarity with a fellow film maker but I looked briefly through the tweets of support and second on the list was the US Ambassador who engineered the Maidan coup, Geoffrey Pyatt. Speaks volumes to me.”
    _________________

    Guilt by association?

Ken Loach’s message is good but when supported by the US ambassador it is not good any more.

That is rather Stalinist. Mr Goss, lke Valdimir Putin, ex-boss of the KBG, is incapable of changing his spots.

    those Rifkind comments in full:

There has been a fundamental break-down of trust amid divergent and, at this point, totally incompatible accounts of what has happened in Ukraine and why. . . The economic relationship between Russia and the rest of Europe is also beginning to disintegrate due to the sanctions process, and many commentators in both Russia and the West now openly speculate about a new . . . War.

One feature of the new landscape has been the increase in close military encounters between Russian and NATO military forces and between Russian military forces and those of Sweden and Finland. As with everything else, there is a dispute over what exactly is happening and why but there is little disputing that both increased military activity and closer proximity of forces is a reality.
The European Leadership Network has recorded 66 incidents . . . three were classified as high risk

OK GCHQ & Hannas-Barbara & chums, if Europe has had just THREE close shaves in the last 18 months, i.e. one risk of escalation to total thermonuclear war, according to Sir Malcolm Rifkind KCMG (recently ex-Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee), EVERY SIX-MONTHS on average. . .

what is going to be the point of watching the “new Strictly”, as before the voting is over for Ken Vine or whoever, the BBC and London might have been melted?, if you carry-on at this rate of near-misses!

this isn’t an attempt to influence UK Government policy, as that might be terrorism, but just a request for clarity on the objectives

the Rifkind et.al realistic position paper itself is here: http://www.europeanleadershipnetwork.org/medialibrary/2015/08/18/2f868dfd/Task%20Force%20Position%20Paper%20III%20July%202015%20-%20English.pdf

Can anyone tell me how many parliamentary candidates were fielded by LEFT UNITY at the last general election, how many of them lost their deposits and what was the total number of votes cast for all the candidates?

I have tried to find this information on the party’s website but for some strange reason it does not appear to be available there.

    Mr Goss…?

    Thank you.

Did I get another mention? I guess it’s because (being a generally fairminded lizard) when what he says makes sense, my agreement is sorta instinctive. Not in the least bothered, since you ask rhetorically.

I see English Knight (the Auntie Sea Mite) has joined in. That’s his 400th email account, or maybe he just can’t always spell his addie right. Or is it a Russian Pawn? How are you about agreeing with a racist white supremacist, John? Think very carefully…
