The Disgraceful Far Right “Journalist” Stephen Daisley 132

I shall blog about last night’s Panorama shortly. But first I should like to draw attention to STV’s disgraceful Stephen Daisley, who I last mentioned joining in a mainstream media Twitter hatefest against me for revealing that MI5 were targeted on the SNP.

Well Daisley has been at it again, this time with a seriously nasty tweet about the mysterious murder of Hilda Murrell. It was sent to Murdoch shill David Aaronovitch, to whom Daisley tweeted

Yep. “Hilda Murrell. How the State silences dissent one elderly rose grower at a time.”

Whatever you believe about the Murrell murder, it is not something Daisley – a broadcast journalist – should be making jokes about. It is also fascinating that both Daisley’s tweet about me and his tweet about Hilda Murrell were both in defence of the security services and both sent to David Aaronovitch.

Aaronovitch found the Murrell joke so hilarious that he retweeted it at 3am on 25 September. Which is a pity for Daisley, as he apparently woke up, remembered he was a broadcast journalist, and deleted it. At any rate the retweet is on Aaronovitch’s twitter stream but the original not on Daisley’s.

It is however instructive to look at Daisley’s twitter stream. It is amazing to me that a supposed “journalist” working for a broadcaster would be so completely open about their anti-SNP, unionist, anti-Corbyn and far right agenda. Daisley is only very small beer, a stinking, sweating foot-soldier of the forces of reaction. But if you can stand it, the way the unionist establishment interacts and thinks is revealed very clearly from a study of his twitter feed. Messages are exchanged with Aaronovitch of Murdoch, Nick Cohen of the Guardian, with John McTernan of the Blairites and with J K Rowling of the 1%, and a great many others. The SNP and Corbyn are smugly derided by all. These well-paid state supporters live in a cosy Panglossian paradise and have contempt for anyone who is not “in”.

The other thing that comes out of the feed is this peculiar obsession with Israel. Of all the media attacks on Jeremy Corbyn’s “anti-Semitic connections”, Daisley’s attack is the most astonishing. STV should be deeply ashamed to carry this; it breaks every rule of good journalism. It is a bizarre hotch-potch of mostly deliberate lies and misrepresentation, and crucially there has not been a single attempt to contact any of the people named to obtain their side of the story.

To tackle just two of about sixty wild inaccuracies. Daisley accused Raed Saleh of a “blood libel” which Saleh has repeatedly denounced and stated that he has never said, and which a British court found there was no evidence that Saleh has ever said. Nonetheless Daisley regurgitates this Israeli propaganda.

Daisley quotes Paul Flynn as questioning the loyalties of Matthew Gould, appointed as British Ambassador to Israel. But this is gross misrepresentation by Daisley. What Flynn queried was Gould’s avowal that he was a “committed Zionist”, not his ethnicity. Would we appoint an Ambassador to Cuba who declared himself an avowed communist?

Daisley also perniciously omits what Flynn had said at the start of his remarks which sets the entire context, which was that Gould had held eight secret meetings with Liam Fox and Adam Werritty, of which the FCO refuses to disclose the subjects discussed and who else was present. Daisley knows that, and his censorship of that context is inexcusable as it completely distorts what Flynn was saying in order to portray Flynn as an anti-Semite.

The last few paragraphs of this attack on Corbyn beggar belief in their lack of balance. There is no nod whatsoever to the plight of the Palestinians, the illegality of the Israeli settlements he names, or the Israeli attacks on Gaza. The Israeli government itself would not dare publish anything so unsubtle and totally one sided. That STV should do this, in the context of an attack on Jeremy Corbyn, is absolutely incredible.

I know Daisley is a very, very insignificant figure. But the humdrum media enforcers of the establishment are vital to their ability to keep the 99% working for the 1%. That such a hate-filled and crazed right-winger as Daisley should be employed by mainstream broadcast media says a huge amount about the society we live in.

UPDATE HOW THE UNIONIST ESTABLISHMENT WORKS

As if to confirm the thesis outlined below, at 10.57am today, Duncan Hothersall, Labour’s New Media Czar in Scotland, retweeted Stephen Daisley’s approving tweet of an extract from Tory Secretary of State David Mundell’s Tory Conference Speech:

Good Stat: More people voted No in Indyref than have ever voted for any party in any election in Scottish history.

The tweet carried the Conservative Party Conference hashtag, so there is no doubt Red Tory Hothersall knew he was spreading Blue Tory Propaganda. The seamless web of Red and Blue Tories and mainstream media functions as usual. It is delightful to be proved so completely right so quickly:

I’m getting tired of repeating myself, but Mr Daisley is no more a journalist than I am. He appears to be paid purely to troll social media, and insult anyone who disagrees with him. He is backed up by a cohort of usual suspects who indulge in tag team trolling, often referring to pro-independence supporters as “zoomers” or other phrases suggesting they are mentally ill.
He has to decide whether he wants to be a serious journalist or a twitter comedian. At present he is succeeding at neither.

The fact that I was an officer in the U.S. Navy does not stop the trolls here from accusing me of being a conspiraloon.

  • Mary

Yes I noticed that Lysias. Where are they btw? The trollfest is obviously adjourned until we speak of Muslims, racism and immigration again.

May I pick you up on the above part of your latest post?

If Mr Flynn “queried” Ambassador Gould’s avowal that he was a committed Zionist, could that not be taken to mean that he was suggesting that the Ambassador’s real loyalties lie with Israel and not the UK (or at minimum that his loyalties were shared)?

I also fail to see why you say that the eight “secret” meetings Ambassador Gould held with Messrs Fox and Werrity “set the entire context”. Could you perhaps explain what that context is and how the meetings set it in order to help me understand why Mr Daisley’s failure to mention them was such a heinous offence?

Finally, you analogy of not sending a committed Communist as Ambassador to Cuba is not very convincing as I doubt if any committed Communist – assuming his beliefs were known of course) would rise that far in the house.

What house is that Noddy. The Toytown house of ambassadors.

“The death of Hilda Murrell was a vicious and grisly murder, which remains unsolved, and she still has family living. It is in the worst of taste to jeer on Twitter about it, no matter what the truth of the matter is.”

Just as the tweets – and comments on this blog – rejoicing that Margaret Thatcher had died were in the worst of taste.

Comments like (inter alia)”the witch” and “burning in hell” refer.

Daisley wrote a few pieces in the Times of Israel in 2013.

‘The Blogs > Stephen Daisley is a UK-based freelance writer and journalist who has contributed to a wide range of publications, including Commentary, Standpoint, and The Commentator, and writes a blog called The Eclectic Partisan. He has an MSc in Political Communication and an interest in Israel, politics, and antisemitism. He is a Catholic, a Zionist, and writes from a center-right perspective.’

Well, Mr Corbyn may not having been questioning Ambassador Gould’s “ethnicity” – by which you men his Jewishness, I suppose – but here is someone who obviously is:

“No because that is not the way it works. The way it works is to appoint Jewish ambassadors to Israel from the UK, US and Canada to silence any real objective comment the year Netanyahu bombed and killed thousands of civilians in his lates genocide.”

Oh come on. Hilda Murrell didn’t cause grief for millions of people, start a war to boost flagging election prospects, destroy communities and entire industries, throw millions into poverty and then blame them for it, and much more besides. Hilda Murrell wasn’t evil, as Thatcher most clearly was, in other words.

Never mind “coming on”, Glenn – how did you GET on (last Sunday I mean)?

  • Trowbridge H. Ford

Habby conveniently equates the vicious murder of a well-meaning old lady with a loony politician who fortunately died a peaceful death rather than was incinerated like the rest of us in a war she thought mistakenly she could most covertly pull off without all the fallout.

And, by the way, good taste is good taste and bad taste is bad taste.

Never heard of this Daisley bloke before, is he really making a joke about the Murrell murder case or mocking the conspiracy loons who can’t even agree on a motive? Andrew George admitted taking part in the assault on Murrell, his DNA and fingerprints were found at the scene, but claims variously that it was his brother or “friends” that actually carried out the killing.

Raed Salah made a comment about “children’s blood being mixed with dough to make holy bread”. He didn’t specifically mention Jews and claims he was talking about the Spanish Inquisition but frankly it’s difficult to accept that he could really have been talking about anything else than the old Blood Libel. He has also claimed that on the morning of a certain event in 2001 that we’re not allowed to discuss here 3,000 Jews were warned not to go in to work. A ludicrous conspiracy theory easily disproved by examining the casualty lists.

Salah is either anti-Semitic or a fool. Either way Corbyn would be well advised to give him a wide berth.

Above former UK ambassador to Syria, Peter Ford, says:

“Cameron’s unthinking policy on Syria has fuelled the rise of British jihadism”

“If Cameron had had his way, the jihadis could be in control of Damascus by now. Where is the accountability? William Hague took the fall for the embarrassing failure with parliament – after a decent interval he was removed from the Foreign Office – but Cameron is the Teflon man here. Having got away with bombing Libya (with barely a thought for the poor Libyans, whose country is now a tragic mess) he must have arrogantly thought that Syria would make a nice encore.”

Was Cameron a bit too much a Friend of Israel. The Rifkind sting. Big shift in ISC. Sacking of General Allen, the ISIS “Czar”. Donald Trump. Neocons finally in retreat.

On the subject of sexual abuse, ex Bishop Peter Ball has received a jail sentence of 32 months with immediate effect. As many as 18 young men and some teenagers were ‘identified, groomed and exploited’. Other charges remain on file.

Ex-Bishop Jailed Over Sex Abuse Of Young Men
The Old Bailey heard Peter Ball had many influential friends including in the Royal Family and used them to avoid being charged
    http://news.sky.com/story/1565481/ex-bishop-jailed-over-sex-abuse-of-young-men

Carey denies a cover up. Oh really?

‘The Old Bailey heard Ball, 83, had used a host of establishment figures including “MPs, former public school headmasters, JP’s” and a member of the royal family to escape prosecution.

Last month, he pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office after a last-ditch attempt to get the case thrown out failed.’

‘He was said to have many high-profile friends and acquaintances, including the Prince of Wales.’

    Vile.

Today’s right wing establishment mouthpieces, who pass themselves off as journalists,or columnists such as Daisely, Aaronovitch and McTernan are the modern equivalent of their ancient Roman counterparts, who used salacious gossip and slander to great effect as well. They didn’t have the use of Twitter or Facebook though.

Julius Caeser’s Commetaries on the War in Gaul, is a prime example, the Romans also used written art in the form of poetry as propaganda, as well as Horace and Virgil, who knew how to spin a story, like today’s propagandists do in the press, twitter and social media overall.

We are effectively spectators for most part in an ongoing propaganda war, where the right control virtually all the media and press.

Over the last few years especially during the run up to the Scottish referendum vote in independence, the propaganda machine has been cranked up a few gears. Notably the actions of the press and BBC, in their sheer blatent bias against Scottish independence.

how did you GET on (last Sunday I mean)?

Well, thanks for asking! (If it’s not too o/t this early in a thread.. soon find out, if it gets deleted I suppose…)

Made it around the target time (1h45m) – not brilliant I know, but well above average for male runners on the day, without stopping and without injury. The misses didn’t do so well this time, a cold had developed into a nasty cough (surprised she did it at all), and she came in 10 minutes later. Well below her target time, but still much better than the average even for male runners.

A crowded race, but very well organised, looking forward to the next one – possibly at Silverstone in the spring.

You bet! As ever niemand and its multicolor profile management software leading the charge as an “atheists” (that is until the going gets tough and immediately the born again Jew starts threatening the Board of Jewish Deputies wrath, and constitution of ADL in UK) and leads the vile racist attacks with the rest of the profiles/personalities/entities bringing up the rear and continuing the attacks, until the debate is safely shelved.

Although further down the usual suspects are still not satisfied and are pretty busy finding another angle of prevarication, included the almost Jurassic blood lia….. but hey that is the kind of “rebuttal” that is expected from these automatons whose addled minds can entertain no independent thought of any kind!

It would appear Daisley, is just one of a long list of right wing propagandist mouthpieces, who obediently obey their Zionist master. The sheer ferocity of the attack on Corbyn by Daisely, and the main subject matter (more than anti-semetic) seem to reniforce that in my opinion.

But is Corbyn really a threat to the ordinary Jewish person in Britain? Of course he isn’t, the character assassination by Daisley has more to do with Corbyn’s seemingly leftist policies, which have made him popular.

The Blairites within his party combined with right leaning politicians, need to find a cohesive way of blackening Corbyn’s character, reducing his popularity, and ergo eventually removing him from his position as Labour leader. The mongrel Daisley is just following his masters orders.

Further confirmation that the mainstream media is rotten to the core. Fortunately, their increasing hysteria and lack of traction with the public suggests they will soon be talking among themselves.

Gosh he is not favoured with fine features that Mr. Daisley, another handicap in his life next not being able to write.

Definitely dojo material should he ever need a new job, alternatively he might offer himself up as a rugby Ram to his unionist friends in the south, in a selfless mission to improve English Rugby.
