Huhne should be hung, drawn and quartered for the amount of money wasted proving that he did what he bloody knows he did.

John Terry’s alleged racist remark has anti-racism campaigners saying that with him facing ‘charges of such magnitude’ he should be stripped of the England captaincy, regardless of the fact that he has not yet had his day in court.

Such magnitude!??! This, in a week where the torture-affirming David Miliband can prance around, offering his ‘wisdom’ on the lessons Labour should draw from its recent history, when he should be warming a jail cell bunk somewhere.

As ever, the spotlight is kept firmly on the low-level individual transgressions, rather than the industrial law-breaking of the entire upper reaches of UK society. Oh, Craig, it’s all too much… where’s that whiskey?

Ed Davey replaces Huhne. Here they both are on the LibDem Friends of Israel site, welcoming members of the Knesset in December 2009.

It was, indeed a classic Private Eye cover.

    .
Does anyone know if a post-war political history of the UK through cartoons has been written (I have seen one on the Labour Party)? I have always thought that it would be an excellent way to help foreign students of English; as well as an invaluable teaching tool for students of history and sociology who respond better to visual stimuli than the written word. I will ask the Cartoon Museum if such a volume might be on the stocks.

A few years ago I was cruising at 90 mph as chauffeur for a businessman in customer’s BMW on the M40 and an unmarked police car slunk up beside me in the fast lane, to have a look. Obviously I slowed down a bit. Most cars do exceed the speed limit most of the time if they can. Most business men are exempt from embarrassing peccadillos most of the time.
This intimidation of Chris Huhne is more to do with Clegg’s killer-enforcer, competitive political mentality than any wrong-doing by Chris Huhne. The whole Green game plan to heat the UK with nuclear electricity powered heat pumps has gone awol after the Tsunami in Japan. Nothing to lose for Chris Huhne to resign. It will be all the sweeter when Clegg gets the ejector seat from Cameron. I hope he lands under a lorry and gets well-flattened hedgehog-style. Apologies to animal lovers. I hope he gets squashed like a tin can.

Cameron has announced that he is going to Washington to see his friend and fellow war criminal, Obama, next month.
    .
“It will also be an opportunity to recall the valour and sacrifice of the US and British armed forces and their long tradition of standing shoulder to shoulder beside each other in defence of our liberties and shared values. The visit will underscore the strength of our economic links, which contribute to millions of jobs on both sides of the Atlantic.”

What a hilarious and apt cover from Private Eye, and ghood luck with your endeavour at the museum Ian.
Something else we have in common Guano, I used to be attached to the driving pool during my service, before I qualified as ‘neanderthal radar’ mechanic, and I had all sorts of vehicle training. One of them was a weeks worth of intensive ‘avoidance driving course’. The Baader Meinhof gang attacked generals and businessman and I was moving some generals about from A to B in those days, hence I had the training and was allowed to drive a merc 450Sel/600, spin it on a penny and drive with 140 towards a wall, only to stop during the last 40 meters.
huge adrenalin kick for all involved driver and passengers.

They are talking about a custodial sentence for attempting to pervert the course of justice for Huhne + ex.
The bastards that be who constantly do pervert the course of justice, currently in Syria and recently in Libya, do not like independent minds. I am very sorry to hear the Beeb sabre rattling against Huhne. Clegg is the biggest shit on the planet for not intervening for his colleague/friend. Professional drivers, lorry drivers etc. do this prosecution passing all the time. Drink driving is a totally different thing.
Remember Blair being driven down the M1 from his constituency at 100mph, filmed from a helicopter after winning an election? If I hadn’t been too far away to do it I was dying to go and get in his way.

Doesn’t Neanderthal training include remove conscience from brain? So how come you listened to the limo lessons and not the moral lebotomy ones?

  • Dick the Prick

Chris Huhne is a lesbo sniffing, rug munching, strap-on receiving, arrogant cunt of the first order and John Terry is an injunction-seeking, weapons-grade cunt so good day all in all.

  • guano

Rug-munching – filthy habit I gave up long ago. Can you ever be a reformed rug-muncher? I don’t think so. Feminist probation officers have said it is curable, but I say once a rug muncher, always a rug-muncher. Can somebody tell me what this means please.

    1. Why does everyone pretend to be upset when it is proved that a politician told one little lie? It’s like freaking out because a bird flies.

    2. Why do people think the law about speed limits is optional, whereas other laws are presumably binding?

Same old, same old. As soon as the weather turns cold, this happens.
    .
    3 February 2012
    .
Gas price up on cold snap and Russian shortage reports
Russia and Ukraine have had disputes over gas in the past
    .
The price of gas around Europe has risen sharply due to increased demand as a result of the cold weather and reports of reduced supply from Russia.
    .
UK gas for next day delivery reached 75 pence per therm, the highest for over three years, reflecting EU prices.
    .
The European Commission said flow was below normal in Poland, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Italy.
    .
The news prompted a new row between Russia’s Gazprom and the Ukraine.

7 defeats in the house of lords wasn’t enough to get the Tories and their mini mes in the Liberal party to back off, so this is worth a try isn’t it?

    All (Males),
Do not piss your wife upon divorce, or you will be Huhnedup high and dry.
    ,
However, given the lawlessness that has been set as standard, I very much doubt Mr. Huhne will be sent to Gitmo for lying to keep his license clean. Although it is surprising to find Vicki Price former Joint Head of the United Kingdom’s Government Economic Service, lying to the police!

  • Mary

Huhne has some previous from 2003. Perhaps this has some bearing on what happened in the speeding case, also in 2003. Was someone gunning for him?
    .
Huhne was convicted in 2003 under the Road Traffic Act 1988 of using a mobile phone while driving his car in London. Following the conviction, ++he was banned from driving for three months++.
    .
The couple’s divorce settlement will be a lawyer’s paradise.
Huhne owns seven houses—five that he purchased just as investments and that he makes money on as rental properties and two in which he lives. (One in Eastleigh, his constituency, and a town house in Clapham, south London). His wealth is estimated as £3.5 million.
    .
His assets are in a blind trust, as are those of 15 other members of the coalition government.

    Ha ha ha.
But I’m not as naive as you cheekily make me out to be. For 14 years as a Muslim I have become accustomed to the shaving of this area of anatomy, and my imagination failed to make the link with this particular piece of flyting. I still don’t know why Chris Huhne’s supposed sexual proclivities has any bearing on his driving skills, political metier, or understanding of the use of energy.
    .
The moral of the story is that when the rug is pulled out from under your feet by your political or personal enemies. Eat it.
I had a good laugh at own expense and thanks for reminding me.

‘The couple’s divorce settlement will be a lawyer’s paradise’
    .
I used the wrong tense. Apparently the couple divorced last year.

And meanwhile in Syria another 200 are massacred – hey hey BAA how many kids did you kill today?

  • Dick the Prick

@Guano – it’s not so much the man’s sexual proclivities but the sheer dishonesty of his affair. I think Ms Pryce would have at some point have said ‘you’re spending an awful lot of time with that women’ to which Huhne had a ready made defence of ‘don’t worry, she’s a lesbian’. Sooo one can infer he was playing away for an indeterminate length of time; deceit and misdirection – Vicky would not only have been hurt but felt stupid, hell, she probably had her over for tea, in her house, helped the kids with homework etc – no threat, just a nagging feeling at the back of her mind. It’s not your normal affair, it’s kinda ruthless.

Alastair Campbell, ex spindoctor to the warmonger, is on Radio 4 Saturday Live at the moment, having his ego massaged. Switched off. Also switched off Today in the week when they had him on. He is also doing the rounds of the chat shows. I do not care a fig for his teenage alcoholism, his days in Leicester, his bloody bagpipes or his mental problems. When I hear him say that Iraq is a better place now after the war I heave.
    .
Anyone else with depression does have my sympathy though.
    .
I reckon he must have another book or TV programme coming out.

If you believe everything you see or hear on Al Jazeera then you need help. It is Qatari based and controlled like the trouble in Syria.
    .
    eg
Syria rejects Qatar call for Arab military intervention
The emir of Qatar was the first Arab leader to propose Arab military intervention
    .
Syria’s government has firmly rejected a call from Qatar for Arab troops to be deployed in the country to end the deadly crackdown on protesters.
    .
A foreign ministry statement said such a move would “worsen the crisis… and pave the way for foreign intervention”.
    .
On Sunday, the emir of Qatar said “some troops should go to stop the killing”.

Apologies Mary – of course it cannot be true until it is reported by Press TV or Russia Today those models of journalistic integrity and neutrality.
